This place has steadily gone downhill. The thin "prime" cuts of steak are a league below Philadelphia steak houses. Not to mention the last time I went there my steak was not correctly cooked to order. I brought this to the managers attention who rudely replied "the steaks are always cooked perfectly" and that I "was wrong". While I admit I am not a chef, my medium rare steak came out without eVen a hint of pink. Very unprofessional for a place charging an unwarranted premium. I can not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience with excellent food, as this is no longer the case at Bridget's. Steve thank you for your response. Great place for dinner. Called last minute to get a reservation and they were very accommodating. Waitress Paula was awesome. She recommended great food and wine options. She even helped with switching out surf and turf to rack of lamb instead of steak. Which turned out amazing! Everything from calamari, watermelon salad and surf /turf, to creme brûlée were all delicious! We will definitely be back. read more

Amazing food, excellent service from Peter! Eating out is such a treat and a luxury for my husband and myself. We have 2 small kids and I am a competition bodybuilder, so such an indulgence is a rarity for us. We dined with another couple last night and ironically were served by Peter in March for my first cheat meal this season, and again last night for my last cheat meal before my show. We ate ALL the things! Not kidding. Starting with Lobster risotto Tuna Duet Ricotta Gnocchi with scallops. Salad course: caeser & arugula salads( ) Entrees: Ribeye special (holy moly) chicken, and halibut. Then the 4 of us split 5 dessert! Chocolate cake, apple pie, mint chip ice cream, bananas fosters(incredible) and bread pudding. Couple of espressos and the best decaf cappuccino made by Peter, finished our meals! Thanks to the chef's for the amazing food, and a special thanks to Peter for making our night special. We will be back in July to hopefully celebrate a win! read more

It's a shame. The food has always been outstanding and still is, but the management has become arbitrary, arrogant, and aggressive. I am a celiac and sometimes bring my own flourless bread to restaurants all over the world. Never has any establishment indicated that they would not use it to make a sandwich or allow me to substitute it for their offering. Bridgets now does. I have occasionally brought my own bread on a few of my many outings to Bridgets in Ambler, PA, but now have been told I may not do so. And not in a nice way. It is a shame, but so long. read more

Did NYE take out. Very disappointing. Ordered crab cake app and no garnishes. Just the crab cake. Green bean side was barely one serving. Beet salad had one beet in it and the serving size was very small. Filet was good and the chocolate cake is awesome. Tonight went with the family here for Ambler Restaurant Week and we ordered the filet mignons, crab cakes, pasta Diablo and ended with cheesecakes, banana foster and mint chocolate chip ice cream. The crab cakes were a great appetizer; filled with a decent amount of crab and roasted peppers. It was a delectable blend. The filet mignons were so delicious, it melted in your mouth. Served with whipped garlic potatoes and green beans. This meal was soooo gooddd. Our desserts were also savory: caramel cheesecake, banana foster and ice cream. Ooooh so good! The prixe fixe menu was a great hit and gave us many options to try the foods. We will be back! read more

I had the BEST salmon dish I've ever tasted to date. Delicious! My friend had the filet, and we both cleared our plates. The Caesar salad was good, but overly saturated in dressing. Had we not been limited for time (we were seeing a movie at the Ambler Theater), we likely would've tried appetizers and desserts. I think what I loved most about Bridget's was how friendly the staff was. Immediately after we were seated, we were moved to a table next to a front-facing window. We didn't ask; they just quickly cleared that empty table to better accommodate us. And when a cocktail I'd ordered hadn't arrived after a while, they provided the drink free of charge, knowing of our time constraint. Highly recommended. I'll definitely be back. read more

Ate here for the first time a month ago and had a pretty good dinner. Me and my wife got the filet and strip. From a scale from 1-10 I give it. 7. But for the price it should be closer to a 9-10. We wanted to try out the blue bell inn but couldn't get a reservation so we decided to just got back to Bridget's. After waiting 20 minutes past our reservation time we were seated at a small table behind the wall. After we sat and were looking at the menu the hostess came over and asked me to Remove my hat. I wore this same hat their a month prior and no problem. I was dressed nice but I just like wearing my hat. My money is good and I'm always a generous tipper. Apparently this is not the look they wanted at their establishment. The comment alone was enough to make me feel uncomfortable and not really welcomed. We decided to just leave. I made a comment to the guy to ask him how come not hats are allowed. He said it's just their policy. Back in the day. Philly clubs would do this shit to keep out black people. Bridgets is the premier steakhouse in this area. We go there at least twice a month to enjoy their filet mignon, which is consistently perfect. A great selection of wine by glass or bottle. Our guests always enjoy a variety of the fish entrees, specials and the other steak options. Salad, soup special, steamed dumplings or fried calamari are a must. We had our Company Christmas party here. It was really nice and the food was really good. I had the rib eye cooked rare and really have no complaints. The steak was cooked perfectly. The only side that was available was green beans. I cannot complain about this though because it was free. The service was good and everyone was smiling. The only small issue was it took a little long to serve the food. I am assuming that was because of the number of people that we had though, and may not be a common occurrence. The steak was high quality but not as high as a really high end steak house. The bottom line is the food is good as well as the service. I plan on coming back and having a regular meal here sometime. We went here tonight for my husband's birthday! We went with the prix fix menu as we dined in at 5:00pm and it seemed like a great deal. You're offered three courses for $35, can't beat that for a fancy restaurant. Let me just say - I hate fancy restaurants. I always feel judged, belittled, and honestly incredibly hungry afterwards because the portions are so small and the food not that great while being charged an arm and a leg. My experience with Bridget's Steakhouse, however, was the complete opposite! The servers and waiter was amazingly sweet, friendly, and quick. Our waiter was Allen and he was great - always checking in on us and there was always someone readily available to fill our waters. The food was well-presented, fresh, and very tasty. My husband had the mixed greens, 6 oz steak and a banana foster. I had the crab cake, seafood pasta, and cheesecake. It was all so so so yummy! It's definitely on the pricier side for us - so it isn't a daily or weekly go-to meal but I can definitely see this as a special occasion go-to location absolutely. read more

Went for a birthday this weekend. The food was good, although portions small (salmon, especially). We sat in the front room and it was very hard to have a conversation due to the noise level. My aunt also burned her hand on the skillet that the hot cookie comes in, so beware! There was no napkin or sleeve covering the handle and when we told the waitress, her only response was "that happens a lot." Seems like someone should address that.. read more

It has been a long time since I have been here. The group that I work with came here for our Christmas party. We did a pre-fixe choice: mixed green salad or Caesar; filet mignon, chicken or salmon; cheesecake or bananas fosters. I had the Caesar, filet and bananas foster. The Caesar was good, but they used a smidge more anchovy in their dressing. I always order my steaks "blue" (extra rare) because it's usually slightly overcooked for me. Thus, I got a nice piece of rare steak with a wonderful glaze reduction. It was served with mash potatoes and garlic green beans. And yes, they used a lot of garlic with their green beans (that was a good thing for me). And I ended my lunch with a very solid bananas foster. The overall meal was terrific and the right size. Our service was attentive but not obtrusive. Now I have to bring my wife since I told her it was so good :) Oh, a quick update. I came here with my wife and we sat in the dining area next to the bar. It was LOUD. So if you want a quiet area where you can talk without screaming at each other, ask to be seated in the "patio" area; otherwise, bring your earplugs. read more

I have been here a handful and always looked forward to returning for their fantastic food! Today was the worst experience I have had. All day craving for their dry aged rib eye and I surely ordered it. I have had their dry aged rib eye everytime I go there. This steak tasted burned and wasn't medium as I ordered it. I'm never the one to complain about the food or return it. I tried few more pieces and I just couldn't anymore. I told the waiter and he talked to the manager. Manager came to me and said because they cook it on an open flame it will taste burned a little and this is how they cook "medium". She said if they were to give me another steak, it would be the same result. So I guess your dry aged rib eye just isn't good. I have never had an expensive steak like this taste burnt at Bridget's. I had my table taste a piece to confirm and they also confirmed it was chewy, burned and non flavorful. I ordered short rib , lobster risotto , salmon which were all great! Something surely has changed here. Either the chef, leadership or quality of meat. I do not have the desire to return here like I used to after today's disappointing experience . Wouldn't mind driving to Del Frisco or even Eddie V's for consistently delicous steak. read more

Got a medium well steak and tried to return it. Even compared to the medium rare my friend got which was vastly more red than mine. Service was excellent but the food was bland, cold, and over cooked. The crème brûlée and mango sorbet was the only good item. Service and food was fantastic. The restaurant posted a sign of governor Wolf say he is as useful as a mask. On the door of the restaurant says mask as required. I felt it was distasteful and disrespectful to healthcare workers. I understand the shut down and mask have upset people but there is no reason to go this route. If the establishment/managers felt mask are useless then they should have made mask optional and next time they walk into a healthcare center tell the essential employee that their gloves and mask are useless and protects no one. Management should educate theirselves on PPE. I'm quite surprise in a food industry they do not take cleanliness and safety as top importance- that sign shows customers that they do not care. read more

A very unique dining experience. It's a steak house, no wait, it's Pan-Asian, no wait it's loaded with great seafood options as well as Spanish classics. I was honestly wowed at the choices for small plates, a very diverse salad selection and the entrees were mind boggling. Arriving for a 12:00 reservation, we were quickly seated in a beautiful sun room with heavy rattan padded chairs lining beautiful polished granite topped tables. The floors were a really cool brick pattern and the windows reached from floor to almost the ceiling. The perfect selection of lamps hung low from the very high cocoa colored ceiling and a warm orange color filled in the surrounding wall areas with original stone walls holding eye appealing wall art. Andre was our server, what a gem, what a complete breath of fresh air, he treated everyone exactly how he would want to be served if he were dining at Bridget's. He worked the bar and tables like he owned the place, never flustered, never missed a beat, honestly, the best service I have had in ages. Not one course went by without him changing folks silverware, at least three times for us and always with a white napkin lined tray. Hubbies coke was refilled with a pewter pitcher, my ice water was always filled and he got quite busy! Andre was very knowledgeable of the menu and was great at recommending house favorites. Five huge stars for Andre! Not sure on the history of the old stone building, which is located on a street corner in the center of beautiful Ambler, but I have a feeling those walls could talk. The very large horseshoe shaped bar greets you as you enter, to the right is a formal dining room and to the left was the very beautiful and welcoming sun room. Restrooms are located upstairs and beautiful. Onto the food... The lunch menu is not on line, but the dinner menu was and the prices were very high for a restaurant in the suburbs. I feel the same for the lunch priced menu, especially for what you got. Without turning this into a three page review, I will just give our take on the menu selections we chose: A generous amount of freshly baked bread arrived right after our beverages with plenty of butter. The bread was served at room temp, would have preferred it warm, but it was delicious, soft inside and a seeded crust. We were torn between an appetizer to share, because so many of them sounded wonderful, so I asked Andre to choose one for us. Four very nice sized "Tempura" Spring Rolls arrived with pulled pork, cabbage, carrots and shitake mushrooms and a hot and sour dipping sauce, we devoured these rather quickly, so good. We then split a Milan salad $10.00, which Andre asked if he could split for us and oh my heavens it was two very generous portions of chopped iceberg, shrimps, halved grape tomatoes, a very generous portion of crumbled bleu cheese ( served on the side because hubs is not a fan ) and crispy smoked bacon, all tossed in just the right amount of Russian dressing. Alas, it was missing the hard boiled egg, we did not inquire and Andre did not offer any explanation. Michael had the seafood paella as his entree. This was to be served on a delectable saffron rice, but picky hubs is not into that either, so he asked if he could substitute fried rice, which he saw accompanied other entrees and Andre assured him it would be no problem. The dish came with mussels, clams, shrimp and scallop(s). Michael does not like mussels, do you feel sorry for me or what? So he asked for them to be substituted with any of the other shellfish. His small dish was served with a very delicious risotto ( not fried rice ) which was creamy and laced with the perfect black beans and veggies, sans egg, think they had an egg deficit that day? Four clams, one shrimp and one scallop, all for $16.00! I ordered a 6oz. Filet, which the menu states is $22.00 and was charged $24.00, we did not say anything as Michael's coke was not charged for, but just making folks aware. This 6 ounce filet was okay, grilled to a perfect medium rare and served with a delicious shitake reduction, sake, green onions and sesame seeds. It was supposed to come with fried rice, again, I got the creamy risotto, which I was loving and very crunchy green beans with garlic. Now I adore garlic, I mean I love it roasted, sauteed, blended, etc. But this garlic was plentiful and raw. I did not mind, because I adore garlic, but those of you who do might want to think twice. They have a lot going for them and a lot of work to do, the owner owns KC's Alley next door and just started venturing into a new restaurant in Philly. I regret not asking if I could have the 10 ounce PRIME filet that was on their dinner menu for $36.00. It's funny if not odd, but with all that I just typed, Michael and I looked at each other outside of the restaurant, started walking and both said at the same time, "I would go back." 3.5 stars. read more

Went here for a birthday and they did make the birthday boy feel special. Service here was good. Got The Original Gangster cocktail and it was disappointing. I could not taste the pineapple or basil. It tasted like water and vodka. The food however was really good. We got fried calamari for appetizer and it was very tasty with an Interesting twist with the granola and banana chips. I got the Duck Breast and it was super moist and all of the flavors went together very well. The only thing I would suggest is for the arugula to be fresh instead to cooked to bring out more of its flavor. Lastly, We got the expresso crème brûlée and that was also really good.
