Cup of Clam Chowder
Cindy O.

Stopped in for a light lunch. On nice afternoon, sitting on the patio waa so nice. Great view of the water across street! Service was great from the start, friendly young lady working the front. Our server, Steven F, very friendly and helpful. Our food came out pretty quick as well! We all ordered cups of Clam Chowder, split a Brigitine Salad, and Soft Pretzels. Chowder was very good along with the salad. Pretzels were a bit too doughy and soft (reminded us of mall pretzels) and dipping sauces just okay, mustard(s) would be a better choice. Overall a good experience and woukd recommend.

Brunch Date at @brigantineseafood - Imperial Beach We parked right across the street for just $2 (win!) and walked in around noon on Sunday. You guys, the weather was chef's kiss: sunny with a light breeze. We grabbed a table at the bar and in the sun and honestly... perfection. The macadamia nut + coconut-crusted French toast immediately caught my eye so I paired it with scrambled eggs. Hubby went for the skirt steak chilaquiles and said it was fire. This spot is our go-to when we want beach vibes without fighting the crowds. They also accept OpenTable reservations, so if you're coming during peak brunch hours, book ahead. And for my drinkers... when I was still drinking, I always loved their Brig Margarita, and the Brig Mule was another fave. Imperial Beach + brunch + breeze = always a good idea.

This is a biased review as not only was I relatively intoxicated here and potentially made some friends, but this is also waaayy too close to my new apartment, and I will certainly end up here again. And I didn't even drink that much.....in my opinion. The drinks here are REALLY strong. Like, I get an old fashioned fairly often, and I've almost never gotten one this strong. I was practically in Narnia prancing with fauns after the first glass. One of these cocktails is like........five cocktails on Coronado. Lol. I also got a chowder and fish tacos with coleslaw and chips. But since I was already on drugs, I don't want to review them in detail except to say that they were all good.

Visited this location for happy hour and it was delicious and perfect. The service was fenomenal and the happy hour food was beyond amazing! Will return many more times. The ambiance was chill and loved that it was pet friendly!

This was supposed to be an update. I went out of my way to come to this restaurant. I had been here previously and had a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and the service was excellent. There's an area for people with dogs. It is a welcome place with comfortable seating.

First off, I lived say our waitress was absolutely fantastic! She was very upfront about all the service and the food options. Very attentive check on this multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed as well. Kat has been here 8yrs

Half Dozen Oysters

They claim to be an oyster bar while serving small little peanut sized dishes. I was in shock when I saw the size of my meal I needed to order another half dozen just to feel like I had an appetizer. There's way better places to spend your money. Very disappointed

BRIG HOUSE SALAD - Regular

Been here a couple of times when visiting SD and always an excellent time. Service is great, food is wonderful, happy hour specials lovely, and location across the street to walk off at the pier, perfection. Parking is a little crazy but you do what you gotta do.

BRIG CLASSIC CALAMARI STRIPS

In town visiting and decided to check out the Pier. Brigantine is right at the start of it with some lovely outdoor seating and big doors opening to the inside. Was sat very quickly on a Monday afternoon. A little confusion between who was our server or not, but drinks and food came quick. Oysters were all very good for the happy hour price as well as some calamari and salads on the side. Overall a nice joint for some quick eats before walking around!

I wish there was a way to make a 3.5 stars. For happy hour, they have an amazing menu with great prices. The service was pretty friendly, but my food wasn't the best. I ordered the limp calamari sticks and it came with some weird cheese sauce that I didn't care for. The ahi slider was trash, but the table next ours looked delicious and totally different. After I complained, they insisted to remove it from my bill. Of course any place you eat with a beach scene is always gonna have great ambiance.

First time experiencing this restaurant in IB and they did not disappoint. From service to flavor everything was spot on! Heard they have a great happy hour so will be coming back

Fried artichokes

Absolutely amazing dishes. Fried fish was gold and tasty, the octopus is served on such a nice mix of caramelized onion, kale, chickpeas and chorizo, the macadamia crusted Mahi was such a generous portion and served with such a good risotto. And the French 75 drink is superb! Everything was excellent, my favorite restaurant.

Brig Margarita and water. Water is good for more Margarita :).

OMG! As I stated before, I love to have a dining experience where I know it's gonna be excellent…read moreevery time. We came here for lunch and I am so happy that we did. C-Level never disappoints. We were seated right away after about a five minute wait. I did have a reservation on OpenTable but when we got there, there were several challenges I believe in the seating area. Once we were seated, I noticed Chef Deborah walking around. She was greeting customers and being her very friendly and professional self. I was so impressed. We ordered.: Tempura Artichoke Appetizer, Fish and Chips, and a Chicken Caesar Salad. Everything was DELICIOUS! It was also awesome because Chef Deborah came by to greet us and talk to us and I had a chance to express how much I really like her Casa Gabriella restaurant in La Mesa. I told her how I have been a fan of her restaurants for a long time and I absolutely miss Bo Beau that used to be in Hillcrest, and then Ocean Beach. She updated me that it is now located in Long Beach, which is still good to know. Being able to dine and speak with the actual executive chef of this brand was awesome. This place named itself "sushi bar," but it also says it's an authentic Mexican seafood restaurant?…read moreThat feels like an identity crisis lol. I was given chips, salsa, and an appetizer soup thing in a cup. The chips were fine. I thought the soup was alright. I didn't like the salsa as I found it too watery and lacking in flavor, more like a hot sauce than a salsa. I ordered two hand rolls, a spicy tuna roll and a salmon skin roll. I thought they were good. I found the salmon skin too crispy and deep fried for my preference, but it was still good. Finally, I realized that not only do I never eat authentic Mexican seafood, I'm not even sure what that entails. So I dug through the menu and saw something called "Don Tono," described as stuffed with seafood, but without much other explanation. I asked the waitress what this Don Tono is exactly, and to my surprise, she wasn't sure either. So, of course I had to order it. It was a big thing of aluminum foil with goodies inside, kinda like a seafood bake. It was good, although I found the flavor to be a undertuned. I would've liked some Cajun seasoning. The best texture and taste was probably the fish itself as it was light and flaky without being mushy, and it absorbed the umami of some of the other seafood. I thought the shrimp and shellfish were just okay, and maybe just a tad overcooked for me. Honestly, I was also not a huge fan of the cheese here; I feel like it doesn't quite fit. I also got some rice and salad with it, which were both fine.

The owners are from Modena, Italy sharing their delicious recipes from back home. I had to do a little research on Modena because I had never heard of this city. It's north of Tuscany. Modena is a city in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region, famous for its UNESCO World Heritage historic center, luxury car industry (Ferrari & Maserati), and world-renowned gastronomy, particularly traditional balsamic vinegar, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, and Lambrusco wine. Affordable and nice, family-friendly breakfast next to the beach…read more Stopped by to have breakfast with my family of five, including 2 adults and 3 kids who eat like adults. There is parking on-site and on the street. You can enter the parking lot either through Sea Coast Drive or Imperial Beach Boulevard. We arrived at 9:30am on a Saturday and found plenty of open parking. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a friendly staff member and seated ourselves in the patio area. A server came over right away, took our drink order, and brought us menus. She refilled our drinks before they were empty and brought us boxes once she saw we were done. She was attentive and anticipated our needs. She was always friendly whenever she stopped by our table. My Denver omelet came with home fries and toast, for a small fee I substituted the toast for pancakes. The cheese on my Denver omelet was burned. I prefer the cheese to be melted and stretchy, as it adds flavor and texture to the omelet. The burned cheese took away from the overall flavor of the omelet. The home fries are always delicious - slightly crispy, well-seasoned, with sautéed bell peppers topped with queso fresco. The pancake was dry and didn't have much flavor. I've been here many times before, and the pancakes are always delicious. The breakfast sandwich was okay. The tomato was a bit overwhelming and made the sandwich slightly soggy. The breakfast burger was tasty and made just as ordered. The mini chocolate chip pancakes were really good, definitely on the sweet side. The portions are big and you will definitely have leftovers. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Both areas have many TVs showing different sporting events, making it a great place to watch a Padres game. Have not been since remodel and new chef / menu. Happy to say still one of my favorite "date night"…read morerestaurants in San Diego (dad / daughter date this time) We had the bread (delicious, a hint of citrus in the loaf I think) and the main lobster cocktail to start - lobster was semi-hands on to get to claws to make it interactive. Perhaps a dip or preparation with the tamale would have improved? Mains were catch of the day (halibut and ahi) plus sides. Fish was simply grilled but cooked perfectly, asparagus was a standout side as cooked perfectly crisp with a nice char topped with an amazing green goddess sauce. Mushrooms were surprisingly large portion. Frites were perfect as frites could be. The ambiance is the same as I remember but the place feels a bit more elegant with updated lighting, table side lanterns. and a bit more "swank" to banquettes and brass / wood molding. Service was prompt and fun. All in all everything it has always been as a SD institution. Note to Somm / Bev Mgr: You CLEARLY have an issue with Chardonnay, and I respect that statement (a quirk shared across CH restaurants, try finding vodka or ketchup at C&C). I would only say that if you have an issue with Chardonnay and only have one by glass and one by bottle on the list, it should be French and not CA. (Maybe a Chablis or Pouilly Fuisse by the glass and a 1er cru by bottle?) Seems like if you're going to be bold and snub Chardonnay (at a fish / seafood establishment no less) you should fully commit to your boldness and not pussyfoot with a CA bottle to appease those looking for something assembling a butter bomb (to be fair, the glass selection was an unoaked stainless steel variety) Besides, if you went French you wouldn't even have to have the word "Chardonnay" on your wine list :) PS: I went by the glass with 1er cru champagne and a morgon which was perfect with the grilled halibut and stood up to the asparagus. You're the best, love your establishment and I will be back
