I've been going to Bright Nails Salon and Spa for years and it's the ONLY nail salon I'll go too. I enjoy their calm and relaxing atmosphere, especially on Sundays when i go for my gel pedicure. All of the technicians are wonderful but I see this one technician, Olga who is AMAZINGGG. She is sweet, gentle, meticulous, takes pride in her work and it absolutely shows. HORRIBLE! Wouldn't recommend anyone spend their hard earned money here AT ALL! Every time I go there's a different price. I originally had my real nails wrapped at a different place and came here for a filling and an extension. They told me because my acrylic was not standard color I had to pay an extra fee on top of the extension fee. Then gel color cost more plus extra for designs. I ended up paying $97 for my nails first video. I went back 2 weeks later for a filling thinking it would be much cheaper only to have to pay $84 for a filling. The man in there talking about the color of the acrylic the length of my nails GEL IS $19!! Long story short that was my mistake because I asked before sitting in the chair the cost and they didn't give me an answer! I now remember why over the years I stopped coming to this place. Even though they do a good job it's not worth the price and energy. They need to honor the prices on their menu and inform the customers about add ima instead of adding everything on at the end of service! read more

Though this place is a bit overpriced for East Harlem and you can easily spend $60+ on just your nails, it's well worth it. The service is great and the staff is SUPER friendly which makes me feel right at home whenever I visit (bi-weekly). Rarely am I loyal to a nail salon. Why? I find it difficult to return to a nail salon when they have done a shitty job on my nails, but these people deserve every tip. The place is also VERY clean compared to other nail salons in the area (which are appalling). Carol and Vicky are the sweetest; they're super accommodating and consistently sport a warm, welcoming smile. Though Michael can be a bit abrasive (and SUPER busy at times), he is also polite and is dedicated to doing a GOOD job. So after getting my nails done on the UES for awhile I grew tired of the shitty, semi-racist service, & high end prices for low quality so I went Uptown and found MY nail spot! I even let Michael wax my eyebrows once and I must admit, he did an AMAZING job but I am not a fan of brow waxing so that was a one-time deal. If you're super busy during the week they can make you an appointment. Even if you don't, on most occasions they will try to squeeze you in but expect an annoying wait. Also, their massage pedicure chairs are LEGIT; like so amazing. That chair + an extra 10 minutes of a foot massage ($10) is pure heaven. The only down side (minus 1-star) is that they charge to use a card (they call it "tax" but yeah, whatever) which sucks because the only bank around is Chase. But sometimes I'm willing to pay the "tax" if I have no cash, it's cheaper than paying for an ATM. read more

I love this place. They do AMAZING PEDICURES and AMAZING SNS. I've been here several times for pedicures and came a while back for SNS.. I was so happy the way they did my SNS this last time after a horrible experience on the other side of Harlem. Clean, relaxing, kind, and my nails are still on and shiny after 2 weeks besides the normal natural grow out they sitting pretty still :) Pedi still perfect. And they fixed my cracked toe nail without acrylic. This definitely my go to place. I'll post pictures next time I come. JUST BRING CASH, or they change you mad extra to use your card. read more

As someone who gets their nails done often, I know that SNS shouldn't chip for two to three weeks if ever. They tried to charge $10 a nail to fix it. I was in disbelief. Never had such an experience with a nail salon. Save your money and go somewhere else. They are charging ridiculous amounts of money for fake products. Can get busy, but they give accurate wait times, which I appreciate. 2* for waxing: Just...don't. I tried it, so you don't have to. I got the sense 30 mins into a Brazilian that they don't do much waxing, and then the next 15 mins (and resulting ingrowns) proved me right. Stick to mani/pedis. read more

Disappointed lately by the lack of communication between staff and customers. We are all observant when it comes to our places in line and the amount of time spent waiting and waiting to be serviced. Michael, the manager, does not do a stellar job letting customers know that the manicurists have appointments or that he has his own order as to who goes when! It's really frustrating. The store opened at 9:30 on a Friday, I arrived at 9:45am and literally didn't get going until 11:30 all due to statements such as "this person has an appointment", "this person is next", etc. etc. It really makes me want to take my business elsewhere. On top of that, while I wait I KINDLY ask that I soak off my dip powder manicure. It takes 10 minutes for a manicurist to wrap my fingers in aluminum foil and back to waiting I go - that way my waiting feels productive. No one could do that for me on my last visit for whatever reason. Just little annoyances, one after another, frustrate me. I'll give them a few more chances until I find a new place. read more

I'm guessing because they are either diluted or old. They remedy this by selling you on the SNS manicure which does last approx. 3 weeks, but it costs $60 and takes an hour and half to finish. Positives are that they are clean and mostly friendly. Negatives are the wait time and inconsistency of their manicure products. read more
