We've had several issues with this location over the past few visits , from inaccurate dental plan information to attempts at overcharging (thankfully, I know my plan well). However, today was the worst experience yet. I was told I needed a gum cleaning with a laser and, despite being short on time from work, agreed to proceed. The hygienist had very poor bedside manner and ended up burning my lip badly. There was no genuine apology, just a quick "sorry" and some Vaseline applied before moving on. When I mentioned it at the front desk, they brushed it off with "we've had so many changes." That's unacceptable. You physically hurt me, and no one took accountability. It's gobsmacking how unprofessional this company is & poorly trained the staff are. I went in for my 1st time for the standard exams/cleaning. I showed up on time, then waited in their freezing cold, ugly, disordered office for an HOUR & A HALF without anyone updating me on when I'd be seen or why it was taking so long. No "we're sorry, it'll just be x amount of time longer" or asking if I'd like to keep waiting or reschedule. Turns out they were dealing w/my 1st time patient process of checking out my insurance, getting dental records, etc, all things that should've been done BEFORE my appt. Finally after waiting all that time with no update, apology, or offer to reschedule, i went to the desk for clarity. The girl was terse & unprofessional (no eye contact, spoke in a low, mumbled way, slumped in her chair, seemed disoriented). She said, "lemme see what's going on" After another 5 mins, I said, "so can you tell me what's up & what i should do??". She told me she was having issues getting what she needed from my insurance & whatever else &she didn't know how much longer it'd be. So I rescheduled &left. A few days later i came back at my scheduled time, gave my name to the girl at the desk (who it turns out is not a receptionist but one of the dental assistants; they have no reception staff AND no manager), sat down (still a disordered, freezing, unkempt office), waited like 10 mins, then asked when i'd be seen, and she replies, "You were scheduled today?" I said yes, 11am. She asked, "who did you schedule that with?" I said, "YOU, and I got a text confirmation", and she says, "oh. okay, well i don't have you in here. And we don't have anyone to see you; i'm a dental assistant but i can't leave the desk right now. Can you come back?" (no remorse expressed). Regrettably i agreed to come back later that day at 3pm. At 2:30pm the same girl called to ask if i could come in right then instead of 3. I told her i couldn't as i was finishing up work. So I came at 3, waited 10mins, sat in the x-ray chair ready to finally get this appt over with. Suddenly the assistant (different than the one at the desk) goes nonchalantly, "so you'll be able to speak with the doctor & we'll do your x-rays, but not your cleaning." I'm like "umm excuse me?" She says, "Yeah we don't have a hygienist here right now." I told her this was my THIRD time here in about 5 or 6 days & I'd spoken to someone on the phone 3 times, and this should've been something told to me ANY one of those times, so why am i just being told this now? She stumbled her words, "yeah i don't know. you can make an appointment at a different location (far away) if you want, but we probably shouldn't even do your x-rays today 'cuz we'll have to bill them out & you really should do them together w/your cleaning," even though she was all set up & just about to start my x-rays. I was so confused. I expressed my upset & told her briefly about my experience here thus far. She was unsympathetic & cavalier, like "ok, well sorry. you wanna to go to another location?" I was stunned. I got up out of the chair & said I'd just find another practice because this was absurd. As i got my purse & started walking out, no one said anything to me to take accountability or express regret at how I was treated -- and it was the same girl at the desk I'd been dealing with who should've said SOMETHING. She didn't even look up from her computer. Later I called in (took several mins to get through) & asked who i could speak to about the whole ordeal (yes i went full Karen - no shame. they deserved it). The girl on the phone (Joyce who i think is the same one i'd been dealing with) told me they don't have a manager but i could speak to the dentist. She had the opportunity to apologize for the craziness I'd been put through & for all the time from work I'd sacrificed, but again, she was cold, aloof, uncaring. So that was that. If you're considering dental work, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Bright Now Dental has proven to be highly unprofessional and disorganized. Here's my experience: Despite clearly explaining my needs, they knowingly scheduled appointments for treatments their doctors do not provide. On multiple occasions, I encountered red flags. For example, they once scheduled me for an orthodontist and cleaning appointment on a day the doctor wasn't even working. When I arrived, I was informed that the hygienist had to leave for a family emergency and that the orthodontist wasn't in--yet no one contacted me in advance to reschedule or save me a wasted trip. The final straw came when I was charged $35 for a consultation, only for the doctor to tell me, "We don't provide this treatment anymore--they should have informed you." Essentially, I paid for nothing but an apology. This level of mismanagement and disregard for patients' time and money is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this dental office to anyone. It feels more like a scam than a legitimate practice. read more

Horrible office. Staff is rude and uncaring. They constantly run WAY behind schedule, as in 30 to 45 to 60 minutes late. I've been there for multiple cleanings, crowns, fillings, etc. I just can't waste that much time any more for staff that could care less about my time. There response is, "well, we're a dental office..." as if that means it is OK to make me wait until they feel like calling me back. DO NOT waste your time on these unprofessional, idiotic people. I needed a new dentist for my kids because of ins change. I found this on the ins website and called to confirm that my ins was covered. After being on the phone for over 30 min they confirmed that they take the ins and verified what was needed. I made the appointment and things seemed okay. On the day of the appointment I got a call that they didn't find the info needed. I want over things again and said to call me if there were any issues. I didn't get a call and therefor took my kids to the office. Once there I filled out the necessary forms and then had to wait aver 30 min (not including paperwork time) before the front desk person said that my ins was not accepted and that I would have to pay out of pocket to be seen. I have no idea why they wasted my time and made us wait over 30 min when they knew this for days! The front staff was even taking about putting another person on hold for no reason. My son heard this and said he didn't want to be where people were treated like this. Office staff is not trained and I do no recommend. They do not know how to verify ins or get information. read more

This place is the worst. My wife and I had dental work done there and we both had issues with just about everything they did. We had to go back to have rework done many times. The final straw for me was a crown that had to be replaced that they had previously done poorly and they gave me the price beforehand. I had the work done and paid them in full as soon as they completed it. Approximately a year later they send me a bill for $478. After speaking with them, they told me that the insurance company wouldn't cover their share of the crown. I called the insurance company and they told me the reason was because not enough time had passed from the original crown. They also said Bright Now Dental never got the crown pre-authorized and if they did, they would have known it wouldn't be covered. Also, I could have waited a month and enough time would have passed and insurance would have covered it. I called the Bright Now Dental office multiple times for further explanation and to see what they could do to help resolve the issue. Months went by without them returning my calls or getting back to me. I finally talked to someone there and they told me that it'sy issue and I have to pay them the $478. I can't stress enough how bad this place is and would never recommend anyone going there. read more

Zero customer service. Went to the office in cave creek for a second opinion. I was told to go there the week before my appointment to fill out a request to transfer my X-rays over to this office. When I got there, they said I was supposed to go to my original dentist to fill out the paper. I told them I just called bright now and they told me to come to this office to do it. Reluctantly, she gave me the papers to fill out and faxed them to my original dentist. I had an appointment the following Monday at 8:00. I arrived at 7:40 and the office was locked. The doors didn't open until 8:00, the exact time of my appointment. When the doors opened I was told that I had to make a call to my insurance company to assign myself to this office (my insurance just told me to bring in a letter stating this was a second opinion)...that call took about 15 min. While I was on the phone with insurance I asked the secretary to make sure my X-rays arrived. She informed me they didn't get the X-rays from the original dentist. I asked her to call them while I was on the phone with my insurance and her reply was "I can call them but I'm not sure what they're going to say". She never offered to make the call to find out. So after I was done speaking to my insurance I called the original dentist and asked for the X-rays to be sent. They did it right away. But at this point the secretary said "I don't know if we can see you any longer because it's almost 8:30". I said "you could have been calling for the X-rays while I was on the phone with my insurance". She said "i sent the fax last week, if they don't send them there's nothing more I can do!" She just sat there watching me make these calls and never offered to help. I was the only patient in the office. There were 2 secretaries. Nobody helped me. I told them I arrived 20min early but the doors were locked. If she didn't have my X-rays on Friday and my appointment was 8:00 Monday, why didnt anyone tell me until it was too late? Why didn't they make a call to ask them to be sent before my appointment? Why wouldn't she simply pick up the phone like I asked her to and call the office to request the X-rays? I was very disappointed. My xray tech was wonderful, and then the dentist came in to do a quick exam and he was very nice, but I couldn't understand why it was done in a backwards order from every other dentist I've ever been to and now I know why. I was there for a cleaning and exam. AFTER the dentist saw me, THEN the hygienist came in. She did her own exam and determined that I would need a special deep cleaning that was way above the cleaning my insurance covers - Over $400 dollars ABOVE a standard cleaning. I was embarrassed to decline so I said okay and they scheduled me for a few weeks out. I had to cancel because I just could not come up with the additional money so I asked if I could just have the regular cleaning this time. They refused saying that since the hygienist (NOT THE DENTIST) recommended this special deep cleaning which required numbing of the entire mouth, they would not do a routine cleaning... period. I will take my cleaning elsewhere as I don't appreciate being FORCED into an UPSELL! DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING UPSOLD! read more

Went to get my wisdom teeth taken out, i had an appointment at 7:30, they told me to get there at 7 and don't eat anything the night before, i get there and they don't even open until 8 so i had to sit outside for an hour before they opened. Also after the procedure they didn't tell me how to use my gauze let alone even ask if i needed a liquid medication instead of the giant pills they prescribed. My teeth are in immense pain and the "narcotic" they gave me for pain doesn't even work for tooth pain. I took some acetaminophen and it helped way better than their "painkillers" 100% Would NOT recommend coming here for wisdom teeth removal or even a teeth cleaning. read more

I was disappointed with the crowns I had. The fit wasn't perfect and there was some discomfort when biting down. This was in June 2016. Later in 2017, I received an invoice because my insurance wouldn't pay the bill. My insurance had Bright Now as a preferred provider...the insurance was stating that the procedure was unnecessary. After going back and forth with corporate and the insurance company, it turned out that the dentist didn't provide a medical reason for the procedure. So, I had to coordinate communication between Bright Now and my insurance company to get the dentist to do his job. So now, flash forward one more year to Dec 2018. I get a letter from Bright Now's corporate office saying I still owe $84 and if I call before Dec 15th they would reduce my bill to $64. So, I call. I mention the challenges I've had previously over this issue. The woman at corporate I'm speaking with asks to put me on hold. I agree. I hear a click but I'm not on hold. What I hear next is her telling a colleague "...$84 and I have to put up with all this s**t." I'm shocked, but surprisingly not too shocked. So, I hang in there...quietly. When she had finished her rant, I asked, "Are you done?" Silence. Nothing from the other end of the phone. It was maybe 10 seconds before I heard a click and then the call was lost. About 10 minutes later, she called back. Her tone was quite different. She asked if I could hold for a moment and when she got back on the line, she said her manager told her that they would zero out my balance. I asked if I owed the $64 she said, "No, you owe nothing Mr B***, your balance is zero." Now today on March 5th I receive a "Final Right to Cure Notice" from the corporate office. If you want to still enforce masks in 2022 it's your duty to supply them I'll gladly put it on. Then the assistant and dentist themselves were also very rude and unhelpful. These guys try to rip you off. They were trying to do a regular cleaning, nothing different from what I've been doing at other dental offices for last 6 years and was trying to bill me for a deep cleaning and charge me hundreds off dollars. I was able to quickly stop the procedure when I realized I was being scammed and got away from them as fast as I could. They even charge you 10 or 15$ for covid related material like mask or gloves. At the dentist getting my permanent crown on after three weeks. Had a root canal at around $2000(during covid time). Today I come in and they have a $10 covid fee. WTF is that?! They already needed the gloves and masks for their work. As a business owner you bite the cost and move on, especially if you need those things for your everyday work. I can understand some industries who don't use that already but a medical field is not that. So in the 60 minutes i've been here these people have made $100 off covid fees. This is unethical. i've legit had my braces on for 5 years now. they told me i would get them off freshman year and i'm a junior! i've had them since 7th grade. i haven't missed any appointments. my teeth are perfectly straight and so is my bite. i don't understand why my braces are even still on, it's genuinely starting to get to the point where i think my braces are starting to make my teeth worse because they've been on for too long. even the dentist says my teeth look good. he said if i don't need to wear the bands anymore then they'll come off. I would definitely avoid this location. I have been a patient at 2 other Valley locations and never experienced such unprofessional, rude service. I tried for 5 hours to book an appointment for a basic cleaning. The office did not return phone calls as promised. When I asked to speak to an office manager I was given the name Rhonda but she couldn't give a last name as she stated she didn't know it because they are new. What she came out with was an x-ray and a bill quoting $3449 for deep cleaning, flouride varnish, oral irrigation, and lots of other nonsense. Here's an idea: why not advertise correctly and give your customers what they think they are getting? It has actually been a year and a half since I went to Bright Now Dental for a wisdom tooth extraction but every time I think about it I get angry and I'm finally remembering to write a review. I was having an issue with one of my wisdom teeth - it felt like the tooth was poking through the side of my gums and scraping the inside of my mouth. This is not a pleasant feeling so I called my insurance company and they said Bright Now Dental was covered and they're a half mile from my house. Perfect, right? In hindsight I'm kicking myself for not driving elsewhere. So I call Bright Now Dental and a very nice woman on the phone makes an appointment for me - it was either the same day or the next day, can't remember now. So I go in, get my x-rays and they tell me sure enough, the tooth is poking thru the side and it's also got an infection or something. I was leaving for a vacation to Disney World in 3 or 4 days and their oral surgeon is apparently only in the office once a month (seriously??). So the dentist gave me some antibiotics and some mouthwash and told me this would take care of the pain for now and she scheduled me for I think 2 weeks out with the oral surgeon since that was the next time he would be in the office. In the middle of my vacation I get a voicemail from Bright Now telling me they had to cancel my appointment because the oral surgeon can't make it in that day. Seriously, the dude is there one day a month and he can't make it?? What the heck? Well, since I was on vacation and the drugs and mouthwash had alleviated the pain for the time being I didn't think much of it. A few weeks down the road however, the pain was back. So I call them back. Well, as luck would have it, the oral surgeon is due in the office next week and he just happens to have an appointment available! Lucky me! I went in for my appointment and everything actually went amazingly smoothly. They told me the only part my insurance doesn't cover is $154. So I paid that, the dude yanked that tooth out of there in less than 10 seconds, they shoved some gauze in my mouth and sent me off into a state of vicodin-induced haziness. All is good right? Wrong. 6 months later I receive a bill in the mail from Bright Now dental telling me I owe them a bunch of money for my wisdom tooth removal. Thinking this must be a mistake since hi, it's been 6 months since I've been there and your freaking billing person told me exactly what I owed after talking to my insurance company, I call them. Nope, sorry, your insurance didn't pay. Okay... So I call my insurance company. They say "oh, you're completely covered, they just won't bill on the right form." Seriously? So I call the dentist office back and explain this to them. "Oh, we don't bill on that form, we only bill on this form." "Well, do you want to get paid or not?" They flat out refuse to bill on the form the insurance company needs and tell me I'm on my own. So I find and print the form, fill it out for them, drive to their stupid office to get a copy of the damn bill with the codes on it and mail it in. Well, they failed to put most of their info on it. So my insurance company sends me back to them to get 4 more pieces of information that Bright Now absolutely knew needed to be on this form and didn't bother to provide it. In the meantime the jerks try to send me to collections. They send me nasty letters in the mail about every two weeks. Every time I call and they deny sending anything. Seriously? I have the freaking letter in my hand! So finally I call their collections guy and this is the final straw that really pissed me off. As if the staff in their office here weren't rude and unhelpful enough... this collections guy is the world's biggest a$$. His name was Michael and he was the rudest person I have ever had to deal with on the phone. Finally to get rid of them and their harrassing I paid them the money and got reimbursed from my insurance company. Bottom line, DO NOT EVER go here to get anything done. Their front desk and billing staff are horrible. The x-ray tech was really nice. The oral surgeon was very efficient and the 2 ladies assisting him were also very nice but none of that makes up for the ordeal I had to go through with them. Support staff is horrible! Received a first bill stating my payment was 90 days past due. Before I paid it (four days later) they turned me over to collections. Supervisor Megan sounded like she just rolled out of bed when I called them and was Extremely rude. Never going back. Stay away at all costs. Interesting that it takes a negative review to get some action. I requested to speak with Michelle, Megan's Supervisor, and she refused to call me back. Laveen Office: I switched dentists due to the fact that I was working from home and I wanted services nearby. From the onset, I should have paid attention to the red flags. Inexperienced staff, dentist who preferred to sing and not provide clear answers to my questions. I had a broken molar, that would need a crown. It was this dentist who recommended that I also replace the 4 crowns that had been added 5 years prior and other than a tiny tiny gap at the gum line, these crowns were fine. Work was done on the broken tooth in preparation for the new crown, then the dentist began removing the existing crown. By the time I could get the apparatus out of my mouth, the damage had been done and the crown needed to be removed. To say I was angry, would be an understatement. Needless to say, molds were made and temporary crowns were added. 8 weeks later, the new crowns were ready to be installed. Low and behold, there was a size issue. The new crowns were too high and I could not join my front teeth to bite, or the teeth on my mouth's right side. The dentist ground down the crowns, then cemented them into place. Still, I could not join my front teeth or the teeth on my right side. I went back for more grinding, in which time the dentist began showing frustration with the situation, blaming my teeth for the problem. At this point the dentist was confrontational, argumentative, indignant and refused to continue grinding down the crowns to meet my bite until I signed a waiver removing liability from the dentist for all work that had been done. I was livid and left as soon as I could. Now, I'm stuck with teeth that do not meet. I cannot chew on my right molars. I cannot bite clean through food with my front teeth. Stay away from this dental office. I have attempted to contact the main office through a form online, and have received no response! I'm 63 years old and have never experienced worse treatment from a dentist! read more

My experience was amazing at Bright Now dental! For a long time I've had an irrational fear of dentistry and decided to conquer my fear last week. I randomly chose Bright Now based on their proximity to my house and that they are covered by my insurance. I'm so glad I got so lucky! I called on a Wednesday and they informed me they could get me in next day for a visit with a dentist who would make a recommendation for treatment. Love how fast that was. I went in Thursday morning and they quickly took dental xrays (I literally saw the xray images as they were taken which was really cool). They took some HD photos with a wand. Then Dr. Bala explained his treatment recommendation. First a deep cleaning performed by hygienist Linda and I also had a cavity that needed filling. Let me tell you something; Linda was incredible in her care for me as her patient. She was incredibly friendly and professional and talked me through every step of what she was doing and that really reduced my anxiety. After the cleaning she walked me through the regimen I should follow at home to keep my teeth in tip top shape. I really can't recommend this place enough, especially to those who have irrational fears of dentistry like I did. Ask for Linda Ungerer to do your cleaning - she's awesome! read more

My wife had a serious emergency and the lady at the front desk snickered at the both of us when we asked if there was a way to be seen immediately. She stated that they were booked the entire afternoon, even though the doctor was sitting down not doing anything. She also stated how she has had 5 emergencies come in today as if we were lying. Also, take into consideration that there was only one person in the waiting room so how busy could they have been? Her attitude is was made everything worse. It was as if she didn't care about the patient in front of her because of "how booked they were" for the afternoon. Went in on a Saturday in June to have my first appointment. I waited for 1.5 hrs to be seen. I asked if this was normal to wait this long with an appointment.They said no, they were short handed. I told them I've been waiting for 1.5 hrs. The receptionist argued with me and snootily added ,"Well, you haven't waited 1.5 hrs". I looked at her and said ,"You know, all you have to do is say I'm sorry and I apologize for the wait". But she just looked at me and asked ,"Do you still want to be seen?" I said no and walked out. Most thorough general dentistry visit I have ever had in a dental office (in Az, Pa, NJ, and NC)! This visit included full x-rays, cleaning, and oral cancer screen. Pandemic restrictions observed. Office clean. Visible sanitization efforts noted. Friendly staff. Competent hygienist and dentist. No rushing to move on to the next patient. No sales pitches in the name of "preventive care" and no recommended treatment in the name of "before it worsens". read more

I had a great experience at Bright Now dental on Cave Creek Rd. The dentist, I think her name was McDonald was excellent, caring and competent. However, the hygienist was amazing and awesome. You could see right away she was competent & experienced but she was even more caring and compassionate. I will come back again and make them MY dental office. ALEX F read more

I will never go back! It's a scam! The lead dentist is very nice. I went in only cuz they had a $29 exam, X-ray and cleaning... Had an exam and a whole list of cavities and a cap that needed to get done- they said I couldn't do my cleaning until I paid $150 toward a gingivitis treatment! So I never got the cleaning I deeply wanted! Two weeks later I went to a different dentist that does free X-ray and exam- he said I have zero cavities!!! And don't need a gingivitis treatment and he said he wasn't even sure what that meant as he had never heard it called that. It was a waste of time coming here and will never go back- I'm not paying money for things that aren't even wrong with me! read more

Oh how do i do rate and review Bright Now Dental??? I have had 26 check-ins with Bright Now Dental, thats not really all of them, orthodontics takes alot of appointments, lol Really nice staff,and they are always trying to do the right thing. 5 stars for that! Their over booking appointments and time delay brings the stars down. The mass confusion my account also brings the stars down. The confusion with my dental plan also brought it down. How do i go into detail about this without telling a really long story, i'm not. Its actually my business and not yours, this happen to me and i hope it won't happen to you. I think that i slipped through the loop holes and hit every branch on the way down. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance and i really believe that they are really trying at this location. Jennifer the office manger has really gone out of her way to make everything right with my case. I really appreciate that. This being said, She brings the stars up! Only time will tell and maybe bring the stars up even more.i would like to do another review or add to this one when its all said and done. I hope its a good ending. read more
