During my semiannual cleanings, I let the doctor know that my teeth are sensitive, and she always makes sure to be extra careful. I have found me a home dental place. Brighter Smile Dental is truly a good spot for my experiences. I got my teeth cleaning here recently. If you want your teeth white, they will get it done for you. They pulled my Wisdoms out because they were growing inside my mouth crooked. In that case, they were causing me lots of severe pain. Got that taken care of and I was a happy man. Let me just say, this place is remarkable at keeping a traditional approach with their dental work. It's almost as if you traveled using a time machine, with old computers and technology from over 10 years ago. This includes the license, perhaps medieval if you think about it. Maybe not leaches, but let's face it, it's completely outdated. I went here because they accepted my insurance (which is terrible) but it's all that I have. This place basically sent me to a place in Santa Ana (it was listed as Tustin) and they removed perfectly healthy teeth so I could get dentures. So here I am, thinking I'll get dentures but they're not covered by my insurance so my life sucks. Here's the funny part, the dentures they gave me are cosmetic, meaning I can't eat with them, and they're given to me every 6 years. This is the best part, the lower set of dentures were never approved, they lied to me. So this dental office approved of removing my teeth, but never gave me a full set of dentures. Now I'm not here to say anything mean, I'm just saying they don't know how to do their jobs. They didn't get the approval for the dentures promised to me, eating and even talking have been impossible so even if I wanted to smile I'm not going to. The dentures are way too big for my mouth, so I don't wear them, when I do wear them it's painful. I've tried, even tried eating with them and choked on tacos, burritos, steak, hamburgers, chips,fries, bread basically everything I liked eating when I had teeth. This is a warning, don't go here for dental work, they don't know the paperwork and will promise that you will be taken care of. Now here I am, unable to simply talk or eat anything a fully grown adult should eat. I went to another dentist, who told me they sent me to a place that didn't care about the previous thousands of dollars I had done with root canal and crowns in my mouth. They just wanted to do what they claimed needed to be done, not the correct job. Yeah, like I said, this place is like entering a time machine, the workers don't speak English as their main language, screw up with the paperwork and in the end they blame you and can't hear you complain. It sounds like a horror movie but they don't care, they do this work This could be you, when you call they will get upset and say, "we no understanding you, bye.' Then it evolves to, 'stop calling, you're harassing, the phone is not a toy." All I wanted to know was when I got my lower set of dentures, because they promised I would get them. My current dentist is waiting until the 6 years pass so I can get dentures approved with my insurance, and the same dentist was pretty shocked to hear this conversation on my speaker phone. My current dentist is amazing, while I can't get dentures at the moment, the dentist understands me and treats me with far more respect than this dental office does. He's carved the dentures I received from this place down enough for me to talk with the upper hall but I can't eat with them because they're cosmetic but we'll have my lower dentures installed soon. Don't come here for dentures or any work to be done, they will make mistakes and blame you. I'm all for anyone to make a mistake, but they never resolve it, they just use childish tactics through the phone will charge you for appointments, and have absolutely no respect for their customers here. Save yourself the trouble, don't come here, just know that the people here don't care about your health. I still find it funny how they hung up the phone on me like I'm some nobody. I did everything they told me to do, and they treated me with disrespect, I don't want anyone to be treated like I did. I'll probably have dental implants when possible but it's been rough. Hi, new patient today. The dentist and hygienist were good and competent. The office is so dirty and the treatment area needs a double scrub. Hire a firm that cleans dental offices. Cleanation is a good option. Not sure why Cigna Dental rates this office at a 9. there are better options out there... Off to the Cigna site to post the same. read more

I really appreciate Dr.Chang and her team!! I've been looking into a new dentist and I'm so happy I found Brighter Smile Dental. I came in for a toothache that I was putting off and found out that I needed a root canal done upon my visit. Dr.Chang was able to alleviate my toothache and referred me to an Endodontist who was pleasant as well. I came back today to get my crown done and it was a smooth/painless process. I want to state that I am the biggest chicken when it comes to any dental work being done but I was well taken care of here and I highly recommend them!! read more

This dental office is no good!!!! The dentist is LAZY!!! What your insurance covers, they'll add some other procedure that you do not need to charge you. After you tell them you got no money and just apply what your insurance covers....Daaang stay away. They're rude and jerks about your pain level, i think they inject you with water down novacane....NO STARS!!!! read more

My cousin came here for a root canal treatment, after multiple visits just for one root canal they didn't even do the job correctly and she had to get a re treatment done at a different office to do the job they didn't complete. They are so horrible they charged me $75 for a cleaning for one of my quadrants and said that insurance didn't covered "three of the four quadrants". I really needed my teeth cleaned a d didn't care to bother with it. Called my insurance and they said that is incorrect and that they approved the entire cleaning. This place is not trustworthy and will rip you off might as well get work done somewhere right the first time since you are going to be expected to pay the same as a cash pay patient anywhere else. Beware since this was my lessened learned and thankful it was just for a simple teeth cleaning. They will rip you off and some shady stuff. Go somewhere else!! read more

I just moved to the area and was looking for a dentist. My experience here was awful. I had to wait 1.5 hours to see the dentist, and the only reason I kept waiting was because I have had severe jaw pain and felt desperate. When I finally got to see Dr. Cao he spent about 2 mins with me. I told him about my jaw pain and that I couldn't do a cleaning and I just wanted an exam for the issue. He said he would have to refer me to a TMJ specialist... then proceeded to pry my mouth open, poke around and tell me that I should get Invisalign (I have very straight teeth... no dentist has ever recommended that I do anything to change them). He also then suggested that I get a "deep cleaning" done, where they numb the gums and clean under them. He tried to get me to do it right then... after I had just told him my jaw was too sore. When I got home I researched "deep dental cleaning" since I had never heard of it before and found out it is only for elderly people and people with gingivitis! I have very healthy teeth! Dr. Cao seems to be trying to get people to get unnecessary treatments just for the money! So rude. His office staff was very nice. read more

I took my 92 year old, very confused mother to Brighter Smile Dental in Costa Mesa today and I could not have had a better experience! I was apprehensive because I did not know how Mom would do but the staff was amazing with her! Marty was so accommodating with the paper processing and going above and beyond to verify her insurance to get the best options for her. The office is beautiful. Their equipment start of the art and the technician doing her Xray was wonderful with her. The doctor was so good with Mom, taking all the time we needed to answer all our questions and making decisions for her procedure.
