Not enough good things can be said about this east village institution. Brindle Room's menu is kept simple because when you do a burger so right, why do anything else. I'm salivating once again just thinking of it. This cozy laid back joint is perfect for a bite and cocktail. A great place to relax.

I was dragged here and told that it was the "best burger in town". Spoiler alert, it's not really the best burger in town. The server was super sweet, but she was the only person serving the entire restaurant. I felt bad for her because it got really busy and she was handling the bar and all the food by herself. It is small inside, but there were easily 20-30 people. This place has a serving window between the kitchen and the dining area. I would definitely suggest that they change the way they operate and just have a bartender operate the bar and people can go up and get their own orders. Unnecessary to make that girl do all that work alone. Could have been a one off - but we were a party of 5, made a reservation and still waited 1.5 hours for a table because the booth seating was all taken by 2 person groups. I felt bad because we took up space in the bar area waiting for our table. Overall, pretty silly experience.

Had a wonderful date night at this cozy casual restaurant in the East village. Service and staff were kind and friendly. They have a full bar and made a delicious gin martini. Food menu is very small and the restaurant is known for its burger. See what we ordered below - Chopped salad: very small portion, but simple and refreshing. Don't necessarily think we would order again since it's a really small portion and nothing too special - Burger: Brindle Room is famous for its burger and it did not disappoint. Buttery, melt in your mouth patty cooked to perfection (medium rare) with melted cheese and grilled onions on a soft pillowy potato bun. Served with crispy thick cut fries and pickles. Think this is one of the best burgers we have had in the city. I'd been to this restaurant many years ago at its initial location. The new location on 11th and C is definitely a step up. Much better interior, creating a nice ambiance and providing for much more space. Shervin (think he was the manager) was great and very friendly. Made sure we had an amazing evening.

Delicious sides and drinks. The Brussels sprouts were so good, even without the tahini sauce it came with. Bacon wrapped dates were the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and even better than ones I have previously had at Boqueria and Socarrat. However, I was underwhelmed by the burger, the main drawback being that it needed more seasoning. Onions and bacon were good, but burger may be better with some kind of sauce and cheddar instead of American. One waitress when we were there, with four tables or so occupied. Also not really feeling the paper folding menus. Would come back to try the steak and other apps.

Today we went to Brindle Room for the second time in 8 days. I cannot recommend it enough. The first time we went we sat at the bar on a Saturday and enjoyed DELICIOUS and VERY REASONABLY priced cocktails. The "Go" is served ICE COLD and is so good if you like espresso martinis. Today we went for brunch and it was empty? Are you kidding me? If you don't want to wait in line for a BEC or a burger you should try this spot instead. All the sauces here are really good their hot sauce, the sauce on the BEC, and their garlic aioli. TLDR: If you want a good burger, great cocktails, and a cozy vibe please try this spot.

What a great find. Friends took me here for brunch. The space is friendly and rustic. Not fancy but comfortable like sinking into a sofa. Our server was Jake who professional and personable. We started with the pickle chips and Brussels sprouts both were fantastic. I wish I had pictures but we ate them so quickly I forgot. The menu is a little small but I will always defer to a smaller menu executed well over a massive mediocre menu. I had the French dip and it was massive and delicious. I normally skip the au jus as I find them a little bland. This one was delicious and robust. Definitely worth the journey from midtown. I will be back.

The Brindle Room is an incredible neighborhood restaurant in alphabet city! With cozy and intimate vibes, superb service, and delicious food this place does everything right. Some of the highlights included the steak frites and the burger! With very reasonable prices and extremely friendly staff, it's easy to come to this place routinely!

I went to Brindle Room a couple years ago before this new location and loved it. We went to visit this place on a Saturday night and were able to call in with a reservation just in case as well. I personally loved the spaghetti pomodoro and the espresso martini, but we also got their steakhouse burger which their known for and I just don't think it lived up to the expectations from when I last had it. Our waiter was nice and we loved how much more bigger it is than the old one. It's unfortunate that I probably won't be coming back for the burger and will be getting the pasta or something else from the menu if I'm ever in the area again.

The chicken cutlet and chicken dumplings were fine but I probably wouldn't order them again. Not surprising, then, that it was pretty packed by the time we finished dinner, at 10:30ish. Serptentine has a solid cocktail list, one that definitely reflects the West Village sensibility. The drinks are all clear variations of classics (ie., martini, negroni, espresso martini, margarita, old fashioned, etc.) but with some added intrigue. All well-executed and made efficiently, which is very impressive during weekend primetime. If you're not nearby I wouldn't make a trip to the area just for Serpentine, but it's a fantastic option if you live/work in the neighborhood and/or are getting a meal in the area and are looking for a bar to start or end at. As I mentioned, it was relatively busy when we arrived here. There weren't any open seats initially but the host said we could hang around the bar for a bit, as he expected a table to open soon. It was probably 10 minutes before we were sat which is basically like being sat immediately in New York time. And generally, the staff here were great -- very personable and accommodating, quick service, only praise in that area. The vibes here are cozy but lively, giving more of a friend hangout than a date (it's also relatively loud so not ideal for conversation if you're sitting across from someone at a table, versus standing and mingling or sitting on bar stools). If you're a dirty martini person you are in luck here, because the Serpentini (grey goose vodka, dry vermouth, olive brine, pepperocini liqueur) is unlike any other. And I get dirty martinis pretty much everywhere I go, so that's saying something. Why is it so unique, you may ask? Well, the pepperocini liqueur is a nice touch and props to whoever decided it was necessary to make such a thing. But the real game changer is the sidecar. You may be thinking -- how is a sidecar unique? Well, it's not just any sidecar...it is not filled with more martini but simply PURE FILTHY BRINE. I mean, if you're ordering a dirty martini, you probably would take a bath in olive brine, brush your teeth with olive brine -- hell, maybe even your contact solution is just olive brine. Want to make your martini dirtier as you drink it? Serpentine has you covered. It is so simple and obvious yet I've never experienced it before. And, because I've never met someone who loves dirty martinis who doesn't also drool over blue cheese-stuff olives, the Serpentini's got that too. Though less exciting and groundbreaking, Mezcal Negroni (ilegal mezcal, campari, averna amaro, lo-fi gentian amaro) is also solid. I love a mezcal negroni and this one is relatively straightforward, just a subtle variation with a few different amaros to add some complexity and herbal notes. A fun and versatile neighborhood spot. It's in prime location so I imagine to rent is absurd, so fingers crossed that it sticks around!
