We had a Pulsd voucher so decided to stop here on Saturday evening before a comedy show. The space itself is small but was fairly empty when we arrived. We were seated quickly and our order taken promptly. I ordered the Iberico burger and my husband ordered the classic burger. Our offer included two sides so we got onion rings and fries. Our food arrived quickly, with the fries and onion rings arriving first. These tasted like they had been cooked in dirty oil and didn't have a great flavour. Our burgers then arrived and both tasted like they had been made with low quality meat, with very little seasoning. We ate about half of our burgers and a small amount of our sides and grabbed the check. Our offer was for 2 burgers, 2 sides and 2 drinks for $39 but we were charged a $20 tip as well (which I understand, but to be presented with a bill for this was a little strange). We were then both sick after about 20/30 minutes after eating at the restaurant (not ideal when you are going to a show). I really hate to leave bad reviews but I can not recommend this restaurant and will definitely not be returning. read more

Great place to eat with good people who serve you. First time trying Burger and beers and it won't be my last. Definitely stop and check them out. I had the chicken burger and fries, which was good and flavorful. I finally had the cheeseburger (update) and probably the most flavorful burger that I ever had. Loved Burgers & Beer! We randomly walked in while exploring around Cornelia Street in New York and ended up loving the whole vibe. It's a small, cozy burger spot with such a cute and chic atmosphere. I also loved that it's owned by a father and daughter duo, which made it feel even more special and welcoming. Even though it's small inside, it has so much character and charm. It was raining so I ducked into the first restaurant I could find. This is a small space with tacky decorations serving burgers. The burgers, at the West Village going rate of roughly $24, were totally mediocre, with basic fries that cost at least $6. It's weird that some thought was put into assembling a variety of burgers yet the execution is that of a small town gastropub from 15 years ago. Why not Five Guys for half the price? Within an hour of finishing the burger my stomach hurt, and now I've had Norovirus for almost two full days. If you compare the filtered reviews to the unfiltered reviews, you'll see that all of the positive 5 star reviews use similar patterns of speech that strongly suggest they've been left by friends and family. I hate to kick a new restaurant like this because they were so friendly but this concept is not executed well and I haven't been this sick in years. read more

As I work in the area, I have stepped into Burgers and Beer on a number of occasions, sometimes for just a beer or and for a burger. Either way the manager/ owner, has always done his utmost to make the visit enjoyable. Ambience wise, I have found the restaurant cosy, and the burgers good size and tasty. I don't normally post but this place deserves one. So my boyfriend and I finished a day of filming shoot for an important LGBTQ+ indie doc in the neighborhood and needed food asap. We had a ton of equipment with us and found this spot on google maps for lunch. We came and were greeted by the manager Claude and staff. The space has a laidback atmosphere, barstool height level seating, and fun decor all around. They welcomed us in, including helping us carrying in our equipment, and even gave us a complimentary appetizer after seeing our post work situation. At one point, I needed a coffee badly after a couple of great burgers, and the manager Claude literally offered to go next door to the same owned establishment to grab me the coffee fix I needed. A few beers later, as we're transferring some film footage at the table, Claude brought out some tasty truffle fries. The service here is just wonderful, an out-of-this-city norm of hospitality at this affordable price. If you're in the area, you should check them out! I was in the area shopping and running errands, realized I had not eaten all day, and decided to stop in, at that odd restaurant hour where you are past lunch but early dinner. It was perfect, and it truly demonstrated first rate hospitality. I was inspired by the French onion soup burger but swapped the burger for grilled chicken cutlet (with the French onion soup accoutrements). It was great. It was simple and a great quality sandwich). The gentleman working there - Claude - I learned has decades of experience at some of the best restaurants - and his experiences shine through here. When all you need or want is something simple and relaxed - this is a great place to grab yourself a drink, to have a burger, and a lovely conversation with Claude, who know a lot about the hospitality industry.
