I would not recommend Brinks Home Security - Skyline to anyone. Jake Kelley is a sleazy sales rep who will lie to get your business. They do not follow through on their promises. Their equipment responds occasionally. The technician installed my panel down the hall instead of by the door entrance. He came back out to move the panel by the entrance and left the previous holes on the wall unfixed. They are overpriced. A Skyline Security rep came by and knew my information from ADT. He told me that Brinks/Skyline offered a better deal with updated equipment. He repeatedly assured me that my account with ADT would be cancelled and showed me a letter that I signed that went to ADT to cancel with them, effective immediately. It did not work however, and the next month's bill came due with both ADT and Brinks. I called him back and he assured me that he was still working on cancelling it with ADT. However, he either did not know what he was doing or he was outright lying. So my account with ADT was never cancelled and I ended up owing ADT for another two months before I could finally get it cancelled, which I had to do myself, after calling Skyline and Zachary several times, asking for updates. I then spent several more hours on the phone with Skyline/Brinks, asking for reimbursement, since the rep repeatedly told me he was cancelling it. I sent them my ADT contract and the last two bills, as they requested, but they kept asking for additional documentation. I called ADT and was told there was no other contract and the final bill was indeed the final bill and was pro-rated, but they do not write "terminal bill" on the final bill. I called Skyline several more times, asking for a three-way call between me, them and ADT, so they could hear that it was indeed my final bill and there was no other contract. Skyline basically just lied about reimbursement by insisting on documentation that they knew ADT does not provide, and they wasted a great deal of my time. Skyline owes me $108.88 due to their false claim of cancelling my service with ADT. My ticket number is 6362264. The actual security system with Brinks seems fine. The installation was prompt and went fine. It is only the customer service that is markedly unethical. I genuinely wish I was back with ADT and had never stumbled into this mess. Do not ever use Brinks. This company is a joke! We used Protect America for years, and Brinks took over. We have two accounts with them. We canceled one service last year, and the other one this year. They continue to bill us for both accounts. I've called several times until one person spoke to me that my contract would be cancelled if I pay a certain amount with a 30% off. I paid. Guess what? I received a bill again. My other account has the same problem. They persistently bill us. I have to wait for hours on the phone, and whenever I speak with someone, I am sent to a different number. Despite their "recording" of her "acceptance of terms" she clearly did not fully understand. She asked that she not be charged automatically and she was. In addition, knowing that she and my 93 year old father are not tech savvy enough to receive an electronic copy of their contract she asked for a hard copy in the "recording." Brinks is an absolutely terrible Home Security Company. With the way they run things they should be out of Business. My experience started last September 6 months ago when I ordered equipment from Brinks and they charged me for it upfront right away but didn't schedule to come out and install it for three weeks later. Then they called and canceled the installation the day before and said it would be another 2 to 3 weeks before they could install it. I told him that was unacceptable especially since I already paid almost $1000 for the equipment so I went with Vivint who came out right away instead. I returned Brinks equipment immediately the next day. They did not refund my money. They said it would be a 30 day process most likely. They charged my credit card again in October for the monthly monitoring fee for equipment that I didn't have and was never installed in my house! Over the months I've made several calls and spoken to several different customer service personnel who just fill out their paperwork and follow Brinks completely inapt system so the refund doesn't come. Months later I had to call again and they claimed this time that they had tried to refund me but the credit card didn't go through. This was months after they should have tried to put through my refund because I had just recently change the card due to fraud. I gave her my new card number on January 27. Now I called at the end of February and was still told the credit card company hadn't been told and it was in their process. I told the customer service agent that I wanted to talk to a supervisor so she told me to hold for 1 to 2 minutes and then someone else came on the phone as if they were the supervisor but just repeated exactly what the first one had said and said that they were a team and admitted that she was not a supervisor. She was unwilling to make a phone call or walk into the correct department anything other than just sending the email like every other one had done. She said her name was Nicole but since she lied about being a supervisor I doubt that that's her real name. So now here we are six months later and I still don't have my refund! I believe that they owe me interest on my money that they have held all these months! read more

Do not do business with these people They came here and promised me to combine my internet direct TV and my security system into one bill lowering my payments by 40 to 50 dollars a month they said they will wave the 99 dollar installation fee give me a 200 dollar gift card and increase the speed of my internet service. As a disabled vet living on SSI every dollar counts. 3 days later the installer came took down all the contacts on the windows and doors replaced them with Brinks Security system. After 3 hours the installer tells me he doesn't have the proper equipment to finish the job I don't have any cameras. Well 6 weeks later I still haven't heard anything other then 5 days after the visit they took the 99 dollars from my account the one that was supposed to be waved from my account. I call the salesman at least 50 different times and to date 126 texts messages which I have kept. Finally after almost 6 weeks they text me saying we can't give you the 200 dollar gift card AT&T doesn't service your area. So now they can combine the 3 bills so instead of going from 180 to 140 I went from 180 to 225 dollars a month they are charging me 108 dollars a month for there service. So bottom line is NO 200 GIFT CARD (NO AT&T in area) INSTEAD OF 180 A MONTH IM AT 225 IM BEING BILLED BY AT&T AND BRINKS AND MY SECURITY SYSTEM CAMERAS ARE NOT SET UP AFTER 6 WEEKS SO I HAVE TO PAY 50 MORE A MONTH NO GIFT CARD HALF A SECURITY SYSTEM AND A MONTHLY BILL OF 108 INSTEAD OF 67 AND WHAT I GOT FROM THEM TODAY IS YOU SIGNED A CONTRACT YOU HAVE TO PAY THE BILL. Recently took over an existing system at a home recently purchased. Signed up for a one year contract. Brinks unable to reconnect existing service and wants to upgrade equipment. Not able to send a technician out to home as they lost their in market service contractor. Been three month with no service yet I receive daily phone calls trying to collect money. Spoke to numerous customer service people along with technicians. Each person passes you along and once you ask to cancel contract you end up getting "disconnected". My husband and I met Dan M. at a car show in Pleasanton and since he was local and used the equipment personally we trusted him and signed up for service. The following week the installer came to the house to set up the camera and alarm system. He was very nice and we found out it was Dan's son. However, although everyone was friendly until then this is when our positive experiences ended. Once we started using the exterior camera and doorbell camera we noticed huge issues. We would get alerts that someone was at our door only after they walked away (the delayed footage would be of them walking away, no[t having any record of their face at all). The camera at the side of the house would send us alerts several times throughout the night of our cars parked in the driveway (which did not move at all throughout the night) however did not pick up on someone who came up to the side yard (where the camera is located). The son (who originally installed the system) came out to trouble shoot the reported issues and let us know at this time that our internet (that is the highest speed our provider could give us)was not fast enough. He also confirmed the cameras were not performing to the extent of what was originally told the quality would be. We were within the 28 days of allotted cancelation per Brinks however we then found out that the sub contractor of Brinks would only allow cancellation within 3 days! We tried to reach an agreement to buy the equipment installed however they would only allow us to pay out the full five year contract! Now we are paying for a system that does not work at all. Not when someone is at our door (RINGING OUR DOORBELL) until at least two minutes after their arrival!!!! Please do not use this company! We have tried to work with them for over a year (onsite visit that confirmed a faulty system, tech support over the phone that created more problems each time, requests for compromises and just end service) and are still paying each month for the opposite of safety! I have had many many problems with Brinks home security since we signed up with Dan in 2019 through a referral from my son who also signed up through him at a show. Then we moved in April 2020 and ended up paying around $1500 for all upgraded equipment. We were having a lot of sensor problems and spent a lot of time on the phone with tech support. I would say 99% of the time they would end up saying a technician had to come out because they couldn't fix the problem or they would send me a new one. Well what good does that do a senior citizen who ends up calling back in for help. At some point I was so fed up with Brinks that I said I want to cancel my service then I was told I was locked into a 4 year contract that I had no knowledge of. I was then told I could listen to that conversation with a supervisor, it's been months and I'm still waiting for that call! I can't tell you how many times I've called and/or had to pay for service calls even when it was just a sensor problem and certainly not my fault. Also, the doorbell ring has caused a lot of problems in the past too but hopefully after the last tech was out here it's been good. The last time I called in I got a very nice man Ken (I was shocked) who said they do offer a maintenance plan so I think I'm signed up for that but who knows. I have another camera that went out on the side of my house months ago that needs repair. A tech support on the phone deleted it because they couldn't repair it. When I dealt with tech support they said I needed to get on a ladder and press a button on the camera. Since that's impossible, I decided to hold off until installer came out, which would have been this month. I think my biggest complaint with Brinks is the time I have spent on the phone trying to get help for several issues that are not my fault and end up costing me more money to get repaired. When you review my account you will be able to see how many issues and calls I have had to make with your DREADFUL customer service. I think the icing on the cake was the day of my service call which I waited for over a month for. A technician was going to install a new camera and repair the other one they deleted. At 1:00 today I get a call from Brinks to reschedule because the tech called out. I thought she would say a day or two but no she says Feb 9 was the soonest which is over a month away at that time. But on the flip side of the coin I will say that when everything is working with Brinks I am pleased. I gave up ADT to switch over to Brinks and I will tell you I am not a happy camper at all. read more

The salesman lied to us to get us to drop vivint. When we found out he lied we tried to contact him and he never answered phone or returned the calls. Then they (skyline-Brinks) put an alarm system in our home that lasted about 1 month and the radio started having problems. The install went through smoothly had a couple of bumps in the road but Skyline and the representative were on it. These guys are crooks. I have been a client for 7 or 8 years, never made a late payment, never gave them a problem. I'm 66 years old, my husband just died and I'm on social security, and have to move to a cheaper apartment because I'm broke. I told them I couldn't afford my monthly service charge and asked them for help, they gave me nothing but a hard time. I begged them for 3 hours and they said I owed them $1600 if I wanted to cancel service, and even though I was moving to a much smaller apartment, after 3 house of begging they finally lowered my bill by $5 a month. They told me it would be 24 hours to get a basic BS insurance certificate that in NO way gives details into the service I am paying for.
