The skipper. Fish and chips sandwich
    Steven B.

After the concert we stopped by and had some fish and chips. The s.ell captivated us and made us crave food before we left. We had the fish and chips. Crispy, light and tasty. Perfectly cooked fries. The service was fast. Very inviting. The whole vibe of the atmosphere was warm and cozy. It was a great experience.

Another trip to the Brit Pub! Such a great place with fantastic service. The place is definitely fun and the pace is relaxed so you never feel rushed. Love everything we try is cooked to order. We started with my wife jumping in the phone booth! We couldn't help but start again with the sausage rolls! The beer again was ice cold Harp. Our server let us taste the Speckled Hen but not our taste. I decided to try the Jerk shrimp skewers and my wife went with the chicken tikka masala. My shrimp was fantastic and the jerk sauce was a treat. Coupled with a pineapple vegetable basmati rice! The sauce was something else and we couldn't get enough of it! The shrimp were nice and plump. Wow! The chicken tikka was served piping hot. The sauce was thick and went so well again with the basmati. The chicken was nicely cooked and very tender loved it! The mango chutney was super fresh and the sides of naan made everything even better. We had leftovers again so it was great for lunch today! Will be venturing there again for another round of fish and chips!

Legit! The food was the best I've had and the fish and chips are solid! And looking onto the pitch at Weidner Field! Such great staff, too.

We had a group of five for a Friday at 630pm and only waited about 15min. The service was excellent and on top of things and even after ordering our food came out very quickly. We tried the Cauliflower and they were good, could have used for some additional sauce but not bad at all with that mango chutney. The sausage appetizer was great and quite delicious. I ended up getting the Cottage Pie and hot damn was is delicious! The flavor was so good, I could certainly come back and get it again. We also had the fish and chips were of course were amazing! Loved the bar and the atmosphere there, we will be bc liming back for another beer and the HogsHead Cask beer was amazing, always love seeing a cask beer on tap.

This is a new British bar in the downtown area, next to Weidner Field. Things seemed iffy at first, we waited a very long time for a hostess. VERY LONG. But once we were seated, things improved. We sat at the upstairs bar, which was cozy. Our waitress, Olivia, was attentive and positive. We chose the Scotch eggs for an appetizer. It's an egg covered in sausage and crust and then fried. Unusual but extremely pleasing. For dinner, we had the Rueben and a special, seafood pie. Like a shepherds pie, but with seafood (lobster, shrimp, halibut). Rueben was good, the seafood was awesome! A lot of mashed potato but plenty of seafood. Definitely will return.

I have been to England several times and I have to say this is the closest you will get to being in a traditional English Pub in the States. The food is excellent with a great atmosphere. The staff is fantastic, a must go to. They brought the English pub to the States!!!

    The Full Monty

Our best British place - had the light British breakfast and wife had the bacon butty. Absolutely just like in England - we love this place. The food was hot and the plate hot as well - awesome!! We'll be bringing our friends here for sure. Thanks Brit Pub for bringing England here!!!

My husband and I had the Sunday roast today (Prime Rib Roast) and you know how expensive beef is at the moment, well we can honestly say it was Fantastic!! A proper English roast dinner and plenty of it too. We will be back. Beautifully cooked and presented. Thank you so much.

Steak and Ale pie with substitute chips and veg

It was Brit Pubs opening weekend so you'd expect some teething problems, and there were, but overall the food, service and ambiance were outstanding. Started with the sausage rolls. 6 mini rolls with a tasty dipping sauce. These were not your frozen reheats but obviously freshly prepared and super hot. A generous portion of well seasoned sausage meat in a beautiful puff pastry - yum! For main had the steak and ale pie. Braised beef in a beer gravy and a full pastry shell - delicious. But this is where one of the teething issues arose. It was supposed to come with mash and seasonal vegetables but they'd run out of both so came with chips (fries) and a pepper/squash mix. I actually didn't mind because these were really good, gave me a chance to test the chips for authenticity (and they were) and the substitute veg was a very smart call by the chef. Drinks wise I had a pint of Smithwicks, which I think is actually Irish but whatever- still a great British beer! Wife had the Tickled Pink Martini which she loved. All in all a great experience. One other teething issue is that, at the time of writing, the pubs website is lacking much info including menus, so I'm posting photos of those here together with photos of what we had.

Me and my grandson snapping a memory in the phone booth.

I was greeted by Peter, great guy, who took the time to explain to me what that all the food was vegan and non-GMO and answered all my questions about the menu. I ordered the Messy Sloppy burger which came with corn chowder soup and the Sloppy Mac and Cheese and they were not only delicious but hardy as well. Although the portions could've been a little more but it was pretty filling that I had to take the Mac and cheese in a Togo box. I would like to try more of their menu and it was a plus to know they make their own plant based protection except the few items that mention are made with Beyond Burger. But I was pleasantly surprised and definitely would like to come again.

My husband asked to have another table and she seemed happy to accommodate. The place was nearly empty after all. The vibe is pretty cool. It has cool old-timey brick walls and a tin ceiling ... They had a good amount of filling, eggs, crispy bacon, onion, pico de gallo. I asked for a side of extra pico. I was surprised that they don't have a salsa. Oh well. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito. It's his standard order. He says that of all the breakfast burritos he's eaten ... and it's an impressive amount ... this one was the best ever. The green chili that it was smothered in had a bit of heat which appreciated. The burrito was very generously stuffed. Best. Breakfast Burrito. Ever. WOW. That's quite the compliment. This weekend though, I ordered the chicken and waffles, which was one of my favorites, check the previous photos, it was AMAZING! This time, with the new menu, I would not ever order them again. The chicken was a not close to what it used to be or could be on a sandwich and be worthy to serve, it less than a 1/2in thick including the breading, the small waffles were soggy, and it was just unappetizing to look at on top of it. The syrup saved it, but that's saying a lot as it's just syrup... I really was looking forward to the chicken and waffles that used to be here as that was the entire reason for brunch here today, and I'll not order this again if this is what it is now. The steak Benedict was great though and well enjoyed by my wife, she loved it and the steak was perfectly cooked. We've been here 15-20 times and this was the only disappointing time since the ownership change or whatever took place. Unfortunate as we love it here, but this was not at the level it was before.

If you're sitting at the bar you can see the window where your food comes up -- our salad and fries both sat there about ten minutes before anyone brought them the ten feet over to us. Not a huge deal, but it's a little cruddy sitting there thinking "I'm pretty sure that's ours" and waiting. The ambiance is very dark, with a lot of stairs up and down -- you head into sort of a basement-type area. Everything I saw was clean and nice. It's a cool, funky spot to take a date or hit for happy hour, so the vibe and ambiance are definitely spot on for that. Signature cocktails -- all fine. Not the best thing ever, but solid. I'd have them again. Side salad -- good. The ranch is made in house and very flavorful, and the salad was actually loaded with veggies. French fries with garlic aioli -- a bit of a letdown. We didn't even finish them. They came out okay, just a little dry, and the aioli itself wasn't very good -- we didn't really like it. Pro tip: The entrées looked pricey, which is why we stuck to snacking at the bar -- and after the fries came out, we were fine calling it there and eating elsewhere. Overall, would recommend for happy hour, and would return.
