I don't know if we hacked the system or what, but we somehow go into the BA First Class Lounge. We were flying Business Class on American, and my friend is Executive Platinum, so from what I read about lounge rules, we weren't allowed access to the AA lounge in T8, but we WERE allowed access to the BA lounge in T7. We had time to kill, so we cleared security in T7 just to try. The lounge agents were very confused but ultimately let us in. This is a pretty nice lounge to kill some time. We had some snacks, some drinks, and a coffee. It wasn't the most comfortable lounge as we ended sitting at the bar, but the food was decent enough to call it a meal as our flight was too late in the night for AA to consider feeding us. If you're not happy enough with this lounge, well, you'll be really disappointed at other US lounges. Compared to some of the best, this pales in comparison, but it's better than most US lounges. Good bubbly, friendly staff, and mostly quiet. So yeah, the bubbly isn't as awesome as it used to be, but it is still very very good (Jeeper rose!) The staff is still helpful (though you rarely need much help - everything is pretty much out there for you). The food can definitely be better (compared to, oh, Cathay or Quantas), but it really isn't all that bad - as long as you don't overdo the Proper English Breakfast, you won't have any after-effects :-) The place is mostly quiet - except for the BA Gold rush in the mornings. I still have a soft place in my heart for this lounge - it was one of the first lounges that I truly got to chill in, and that may color my perceptions, but hey despite that it ain't bad... read more

I use this Lounge frequently and find the facilities here to be well organized and comfortable. There is a dining room next to the Lounge if you want to eat a meal before boarding. Also a well stocked snack area and wine bar, and plenty is seating. There is also a computer area, WiFi, and charging stations. The staff here are always very friendly and helpful. The Lounge is located close to all gates, just a few minutes walk at most. All in all a very confident place to rest at while waiting for your flight. read more

British Airways The Concorde Room was supposed to be one of the most prestigious lounge !!! Since there's only TWO " The Concorde Room " one in London at Heathrow Airport and other in NYC at JFK Airport. I am giving this a 3 star solely based on the looks and feel of it ... It looks like it's been decorated by my "Grandma" ... I was expecting too much or some feel of a wow factor , which I did not feel at all unfortunately !!! Really just an enclosed seating area, not quite a "lounge"....yes, I know...I'm about to spend 7+ hours in reasonable comfort on a BA business class flight to London and I'm griping about the lounge. It spurs a touch of self-loathing at the arrogance but my biz-class narcissism kicks in and I can write this review. I think BA is either oblivious to service or, perhaps, the lounge is an elaborate attempt to prepare us for the out-dated 747 we're about to board to London. In contrast it will seem luxurious and modern compared to the lounge. Whatever the reason, this lounge lives ups to British Airways' goal of mediocrity. I can certainly find better service but not at the premium price I enjoy on BA. Our pre-flight "buffet" begins with chilled eggs and iced baked beans. I was lucky to be there early as the chef pulled the plastic wrap off a new tray of eggs and i could grab some before they warmed up too much. I don't eat bacon but it certainly looked inviting as a breakfast accompaniment or a means of cooling off the hottest coffee. There's also a secret door in the lounge. People are led there by staff and told of a nirvana that includes Chef-prepared hot breakfast and eggs made to order. Sounds like they've discovered fire on that side of the door and a means of warming that, like Tesla is to electric vehicles and Uber is to rides sharing, may migrate from that magical room to the BA lounge someday in the future. I gave the lounge 2-stars as a tip of the hat to the consistent temperature maintained across all the food and coffee and for having WiFi. The staff is also very polite and deserve a shout-out. High class problems here and this review offered in the spirit of humor....come on...if you're reading this will you really complain that your business class lounge experience was terrible? It is definitively not at the level of airline lounges at the JFK airport and even worse if compared with lounges around the world. The decoration looks like a health center in New Castle. Wood-imitating-plastic-paneling, fluorescent light... Food is depressing. They have loud TVs everywhere with awful shows... Adding to this they have divided the space in sections for first, business, one world business, premium economy, premium economy BA, one world premium. It is so complicated that they had to place embarrassed ladies controlling who crosses from one room to the next. A bit ridiculous. I am traveling BA Business so I could enter almost all rooms, but the spectacle is just cheap and pretty inelegant. Passengers are put in a position where they end up approaching these ladies begging to be admitted into the next level until they find their place in this reproduction of what probably a short-minded person in a dreadful office in Milton Keynes believes is a cool class system. Well, I have some obvious news: this is not cool or sophisticated; it is just the spectacle of cheap 1990s-like marketing-oriented spooky classism. Well, BA marketing person, sorry to make you wake up. This is nor cool, definitively neither selective. The world is in a different mindset now. And sadly the real wealthy people have their own jets and your system eventually is just creating sad fantasies of false societal hierarchy. This place, as I like to call it, is the vacation before the vacation. I've been to this lounge several times before hopping on to one of BA's flights via Business Class to Europe. The assortment of hot foods, Earl of Sandwich type sandwiches, hot and cold foods, desserts, open bar...champagne for me please!!! Plus an option to go to the spa before your flight are all items that I am happy to take advantage of and include in my pre-vacation experience. Very helpful and accommodating staff in a comfortable environment. All these pre-flight amenities before even getting to your vacation destination?!?! The British Airways Terraces Lounge is located in Terminal 7 of JFK past security and is open daily from 8:00am - 10pm. Not to be confused with the British Airways First Class Lounge, the Terraces Lounge is available to first and business class passengers, as well as members of a certain elite standing within the alliance. I take Cathay Pacific business class flights from JFK regularly so since Cathay doesn't have its own lounge in JFK, it allows its passengers to share the one by its oneworld partner, British Airways. I love this place. Spacious, elegant, clean, light snacks, open bar. There are many different spaces to the lounge, each nook with a different feel: bar seating, different TV areas, comfortable lounging chairs and couches. The bathrooms are also really clean and have good soap and lotion available. Having been here several times over the years, the food offerings tend to be small sandwiches or wraps, Cup of Noodles, various selections of chips, cookies, and some crudités. There used to be beer on tap but that seems to have been replaced with a juice bar. All beers are bottled and in the fridges. The open bar area features a make your own bloody mary bar, various selections of wines, and many different spirits to choose from: Gin - Gordon's Vodka - Smirnoff Whiskey - Jameson, Jack Daniel's Vermouth - Martini & Rossi They also had Campari, Bailey's, and Glenlivet. The staff can also bring you champagne and white white from the back if they have it available that day. For the non-alcoholics, there are sodas, water, and tea available. read more

What is there to complain about when free food and alcohol is for the taking anytime you want? Well, I'm going to be slightly unfair and snobby for this review. It's unfair because Yelp doesn't have a Hong Kong/Taipei division for me to write about how awesome airline lounges are there. This review is going to seem snobby because most people don't travel to Hong Kong/Taipei twice a year to enjoy lounges. Food: there are instant noodles that you could add your own hot water to, cookies, and sandwiches available here. Unfortunately, the cheese and crackers platter disappeared a year ago. There's plenty to drink though: red and white wine along with various beers along with a tap. This place is hard liquor heaven! However, this lounge does not even come close to other lounges in Asia. There's no dim sum station, full service bar, noodle station, coffee house, etc. *Sigh*. Service: the staff here is quite responsive to your needs if you ask for help. Again, not even close to the way I'm treated in HKG and TPE. Decor: the place is big, but again, Cathay Pacific can do better. In fact, it has! The lounge is very close to the gate, which is a great feature to enjoy a light meal or a drink until the last minute before your boarding time. wow.. this lounge is one of the best in terms of food options. If you hold a business ticket, you can go to the backside of the lounge where pre-boarding menu is available. Here you can get buffet. I think regular lounge offers hot dishes too after 5pm but i didn't have time to try it. I highly recommend taking food here prior to boarding because BA food isn't that great. Space is big enough but due to back-to-back flight schedule after 6:30pm till about 9 pm, it gets crowded. read more

This review is for the Galleries lounge of British Airways in JFK terminal 7, which CX use for their flights from this airport. I'm not sure what one should expect from airline lounges though I can only compare this one to other CX lounges I've used in Hong Kong, LAX, and the rest of Asia Pacific. If you are into drinking alcohol, you would be happy with what's being offered, other than that there really isn't much anything else. Snacks available are cup noodles, the one you add hot water into, potato chips, some cookies, finger sandwiches, fruits, and some packaged pastries (not even fresh baked!!!), that's it. As one of the reviewers indicated, this lounge doesn't even come close to CX's Hong Kong lounges. I know CX main hub is Hong Kong and that is expected but JFK is one of the major airports in the east coast and one would expect more it being in NY. Sad. read more

Pretty mediocre lounge, but one of the only options in Terminal 7. I got access here because I was flying first class on ANA. I got here in the morning around 8am, and while the lounge wasn't too busy, the only food options here are pastries (croissants, bagel, English muffins), and a few processed patties from Zaiya (complement of ANA). There's a lot of fresh fruit to go around. They have a wine wasting if you're into that which is fun. Their bar is self service, but it also seems there is someone there available to make drinks for you also if desired. They have champagne and wines in the morning, so I was able to make myself a makeshift mimosa. They also have a dining room which seems to be reserved for British Airway passengers only, and some of their partners such as Cathay. I don't believe ANA gets access, which is unfortunate as the dining options for elite ANA passengers at JFK is quite weak. It would be nice if we were able to get access to the Concorde dining area. Regardless, I think the dining here is only open on the evenings for British Airways later flights. The Alaska lounge is right across, and the only thing Alaska does better is that they have eggs in the morning LOL. But the decor in British airways is def a lot nicer, but this is really just a place to sit around. I would not come early just to lounge. read more

Well done BA. Initially we did not get a seat right away. I believe there were 2-3 flights boarding soon, so making it tough getting food and most importantly finding a seat. I really appreciated the fruits to go that were easily accessible and the printer with a sign of the email to use. There is a large table that is great for working and setting up your mini workspace. The food options were good for breakfast- pastries, fruits, oatmeal, plenty of tea options, and a lovely coffee machine for those that need something stronger. The staff lounge was friendly and attentive. We had quite awhile for our flight to board, so we got to see how quickly the staff would refill and clean the lounge for new passengers. read more

Cathay Pacific gives its passengers access to this lounge as they do not operate their own lounge in JFK. I visited last night as I was waiting for my flight back to Vancouver. While this lounge is quite large, it really doesn't compare to many other airline lounges around the world. This one is split into a First Class and Business Class section. The First Class room is much smaller, with a few internet terminals and some cold snacks (chips, cheese, etc.). Normally if you are flying First on BA you are entitled to enter the "First Class Dining" area to have a buffet meal - by walking through the business class lounge. Cathay passengers don't have that access though. But the times I have sampled that fare in the past it was just "ok." The business class lounge is quite large. Overall the lounge is not that well taken care of. There were chips and cheese wrappers all over the place. The self-serve bar had a lot of empty bottles scattered around. The internet terminals were incredibly slow (they reminded me of using the internet over a dial-up modem way back when!). The free wifi was not working at all. The plug in internet was not working at all if you wanted to use your own machine on the "self-internet" desk. The massage spa had a 2 hour waiting list. Who the heck is going to come to the airport that much in advance just to get a massage? Either really offer the service for your passengers, or just don't pretend! Overall pretty poor as airline lounges go in major cities. This lounge really doesn't compare to lounges like Cathay's in Hong Kong (which is perhaps one of the best worldwide). To be honest, even the small little Cathay lounge in Vancouver is nicer, has much better upkeep, offers a nicer selection of food and snacks. So, overall "meh." read more

However much I hate JFK, and all the miserable things that happen to me whenever I am there (Think 5 hours stuck on a plane on the tarmack during a snow storm), I still love the BA Lounge. It is an Oasis within airport chaos. The BA lounge collaborates with ANA so I use this often. They have Japanese magazines and onigiri, which is comforting and makes me feel like I took my first step heading home. Love the lounge chairs and the serene atmosphere it has. read more

Very good lounge. If you're a Qantas Club member at JFK terminal 7 you get to use this lounge. It has the same things as many other lounges: all the booze you can drink, lots of food to snack on, a TV area, lots of quiet seating. What made it distinct for me was: - very spacious, with lots of room between seats - a large variety of seating types, chairs and sofas - a better selection of wine - local draft beer taps I was most impressed by the helpfulness and service focus of the staff. We were traveling through here with a baby and they were more than happy to take our used bottles and run them through their dishwasher to clean and sterilise them for us. If one was nearby when they saw me finish a drink they'd ask if they could bring me another. Really good when you've got a long flight ahead of you. There is a place to get dinner in the evening and a spa, though these are reserved for BA members only. read more

I must say...compared to American Airlines lounge this place is the Ritz. This lounge serves hot food and alcohol for free. They have free spa treatments as well. I didn't take advantage of the spa treatment (i regret that). But this is definitely one of the nicer lounges at JFK. It makes me sad to go back to my cold bagels at the AA lounge. read more

It is ok, good location, plenty of room good showers and nice range of beers, especially like that you can pull your own beers as they have 2 proper local beer taps, glad I got there early. I only got in because someone in my party is a frequent flyer, and the person at Cathay Pacific check-in courteously printed out an extra ticket for me to enter this lounge. I have heard that some other lounges don't allow flyers to bring any guests (ie/ Hong Kong) and from my personal experience, Vancouver's International Airport (I tried sneaking in anyway and got kicked out shortly after - I noticed they only offered Heineken, so it wasn't much a loss). This lounge had a full bar with a decent selection of liquors, wines and beer. The (finger) food was decent - they had cheese too. I helped myself to some, and I am sure my fellow passengers were not too pleased with what ensued at the end of the journey in my GI tract. read more

I travel from New York to London about four times per year and First Class on BA is the way to go. The service is extraordinary and it all starts from the moment you arrive at the airport, dedicated check in, as there are only about 12 First Class seats on each plane there is never a line. A dedicated security line, which mean from the curb to the lounge in about 15 minutes, painless. Once you are in the lounge you can relax in luxury, complementary massages, pre flight dining, and drinks. This is great because once I am on that plane I just want to go to bed. Once you take off the cabin attendant will offer turndown service with a goose down comforter and full size down pillows, they even offer pajamas and slippers, now this is class, go to bed and the next thing you know you are being served a hot breakfast before arriving in London refreshed and ready to take on the day. read more

This is the most awful first class lounge. There are no showers (unless you go join a queue in the lounge next door) and the best dining you get are a packet of chips and cheap wines. There is standing room only around flight times so don't expect a seat. It's a shame Qantas use this as their JFK lounge as it's nowhere near the Qantas standard. read more

I agree with Al M. This is not a first class lounge. It is geared toward some economy passengers (as with first class Admiral lounge in Chicago) who may delight in lolly water (lemon slices in what one expects to be fresh water but in fact is sugary syrup dispenser). I asked where is the actually first class area, because I'm preferring the stools in the Starbucks area than not even being able to sit in the crowded lounge. Crowded why? Staff are great, helpful at the entrance, and the staff inside the lounge keep the place orderly and tidy. However, this lounge is way overcrowded, and there are only snacks (cheese and crackers, olives, etc.), no hot food. They need a much bigger space to accommodate the first class OneWorld travelers here in Terminal 7. read more

Good beverage options, and if one is on a sleeper flight (where dinner service is limited to allow for maximum zzz time whilst in the air) the pre-flight dinner is an excellent option. Very large space but even when crowded not difficult to find a seat. Nice business center and free spa treatments. Free cell phone charging stations, but they could use more places for one to plug in and get some things taken care of before boarding. Wonderful way to relax before a hop across the pond. read more

I'm in the BA Lounge in terminal 7 at JFK (not the concord room). This is the saddest, most disgusting, excuse for an airport lounge I have ever seen! It is almost 1:00 in the afternoon, and there are at most 75 people in the Lounge. It is absolutely filthy! The tables aren't wiped down and there are dirty cups and dishes everywhere. So much so that my husband and I just stepped outside onto their patio to sit in the fresh air (instead of the very stale and stinky air inside the lounge) and there wasn't even a place to sit that didn't have dirty dishes despite no one even being out there. There are staff, but no one is tidying up at all. Additionally, the chairs are so tattered that there are holes in the upholstery. Someone who looks like a supervisor just strolled around and I don't even think she sees the filth around her. Fire the whole staff here BA! They are an apathetic bunch who are not even trying to do their jobs. read more
