We marvel at the warm, yet professional service we always get. One employee stands out in particular, Lauren. Grabbed a pizza from here recently and thought it was OK. Parking was reasonably easy because Brixx is part of a strip mall. I ordered the sausage and spicy honey pizza for lunch, and because I ordered it to-go, I was only inside the actual venue for a second. That being said, it looked nice! I could definitely imagine hanging out at the bar and enjoying a beer. Anyway, I took it home and I was honestly surprised at how greasy it was. It tasted good but it looked a little anemic and was definitely swimming in grease. For that reason, I can't imagine I'll come back here regularly, but if you have an iron stomach it may be an appealing spot :) read more

There is one big reason why I visit this Brixx location and it is because of Tuesday night trivia. My parents and their friends love to stave off their competitive itch with trivia and drinks and dinner and out of many places that do trivia, this environment is the most comfy. The restaurant is open with good lighting, and with friendly service so we definitely are able to spend a few hours here. While the trivia and the rewards that come with it are enticing, I would likely find myself at other establishments. Brixx is well known for their pizza which they bake in their wood fired pizza ovens, which you can definitely see from most tables in the restaurant. Their menu is majority appetizers and pizzas with a few other exceptions. I would say that the pizzas are decent, good char on the crust and fine ingredients. I would also say that you can definitely find better pizzas are local mom and pop type shops, but these are fine! I'm not a big pizza guy (and I know for a fact that it would take 2 pizzas in order to be full, expensive!) so my eyes tend to drift to the pasta section. There are 4 different types of pasta on the menu, 3 of which use cream sauces. I've had their alfredo and I really enjoy that, but sometimes I end up paying the price for the amount of cream in the sauce hours later. On the safe side, I'll order their baked Pomodoro pasta. Don't be fooled, Pomodoro is just tomato sauce. The Pomodoro pasta is a bit of an underwhelming dish, and for over 16 dollars, I was paying for mediocre pasta and a stomach that was still hungry. I mentioned appetizers being a majority of the menu, and those have some highs and lows. Their wings have been good, with flavor that shines with every bite and excellent seasoning. The sweet and spicy meatballs had a great sauce, though the meat itself could have used some seasoning. Their salads look nice and are big enough to share, but can either look fresh and vibrant or a bit wilty. My dad said that he couldn't eat the pears in his salad because they seemed old. I guess with the appetizers it's a game of roulette! Despite some average food, we always have a fun time at Brixx on trivia night. I think the laughs and the critical thinking covers for the quality, but sometimes it's just great to be with great people who want to win just as much as you. read more

We used to go here before Covid at least once a week for many many years. After their awesome manager and all regular servers who knew my kids by the name left, this place went downhill so fast. Today after 6 months I gave them a try and got disappointed again. I placed two orders for pick up and the amount of food they give you is so small. $17 for pasta and you will be still hungry. With a steady solid tap of craft beers and multiple specials, there's no dearth of variety for beer snobs like me. The question usually is- how many beers do we stop at? Pizza is superb! Crispy, fresh, light yet hearty. It's all good things and the pizza menu itself is very varied. The salads are to die for!!! That pear Gorgonzola is simply delightful. I love the Mediterranean salad too! Really the salads are silent stars on the menu because we tend to run after that amazing pizza. They also have oven roasted wings and it is a MUST! They are marinated for 24 hours and come in a variety of unique flavors. Sometimes they will do a 30 for $30 wing special. An experience bad enough to download the yelp app. Was served my iced tea and lunch special. After a few bites I had some of my tea, and realized the lipstick stain of the glasses previous user was still on my glass. As a man who does not wear lipstick, there was no doubt it was not mine. I waited patiently for the server to check with us so I could get a replacement. Being kinda grossed out I didnt take another bite of food. After my friend finished his entire plate, the server finally came back, I informed him of the problem, to which he replied "thats kinda gross", but offered no apology. I told him he could take the plate of food away as I was kinda grossed out. The final straw, and reason for this review, was that we had to pay for the drink and meal I did not get to enjoy. I ordered the Pear and Gorgonzola pizza to share. I thought it was the perfect size for if you aren't crazy hungry but want something satisfying. I do wish they offered larger pizza sizes, too. Bottom line: I think overall, the Americo pizza at Brixx is good pizza. OK so the size is not big/optimal, it could use a bit more pepperoni, but man did it hit the spot taste wise with perfect amount of sauce and a good thin crust. I'd enjoy this pizza again in the future. The Deets: I had the chance to try one of the pizzas from Brixx recently. I am a fan of thin crispy type of pizza crust so a wood fired pizza definitely one I tend to like. The size of the pizzas for the price here is a bit small, about 11" maybe, with the usual medium pizza from other places running around 12". I'd say it is about a pretty hungry 1-person size or maybe 2 person size pizza. But being around $11-14 bucks per pizza depending on type ordered, it's around the same as Pizza Hut/Papa John's 12" specialty medium price. That being said, I can be a bit forgiving on that pizza size if the taste is great. The Americo pizza I had fit the bill for taste. Made with pepperoni, mushrooms, Mozzarella, and a house made tomato sauce...it tastes great, simple as that, delicious. It is seasoned just right with not being overly spicy (overly spicy pizza=overkill). The cheese was generous enough but I never think that there can be enough cheese, and the sauce amount hit the mark...not a fan of too much sauce on the pizza, and this amount was just right. Could have used a few more pepperoni in my opinion. The crust was thin, I like that a lot, my fave actually but do have to note that a lot of the crust outer edges were more hard than crispy. The pizza had a lot of 5 star points (great taste, sauce amount, thin crust) and then a few not so 5 star points (a bit smaller than expected, tough crust edges, not a large amount of pepperoni), but I am going to go with 4 stars in all. A group of 12 was expertly handled at Brixx, mostly by Laura. We had called ahead so they knew to expect us, and our tables were set up and ready when we got there. Water was at every place, along with a menu and sliverware...yes, real silverware, not plastic. And a cloth napkin! We came just before lunchtime, so I took advantage of the "lunch special" which was 1/2 salad and 1/2 pizza. I got the Brixx salad which was greens with a vinagarette dressing. Good, fresh, just not a lot of ingredients. I got the Chicken Florentinee pizza with chicken, tomatoes and a tiny bit of spinach. I was ok, but I would try another kind next time. We had excellent service, even with a smile, and the food was delivered hot and quickly. Even the manager came over to ask if all was well. This restaurant is in the Publix shopping area at Davis and High House road, and can not be seen from the road. Plenty of parking nearby. They had nice indoor seating and lots of outdoor seating as well. The menu had several different kinds of pizza, about 6 different salad, and I did notice some sandwiches too. The weather in this day was perfect and this restaurant really opened up with quite a large number of outdoor tables, both for Covid-19 and for ambiance. The thin crust pizzas were personal size, so my wife and I ended up finishing both. The sausage and spicy honey pizza was the absolute winner here, and the chicken florentine was a healthier alternative but I probably would order a different pie next time. Was pleasantly surprised when coming here after a late night of playing pickleball. The restaurant was still open at 1030pm and was the kitchen was still flying out with orders. On top of that, they have some amazing specials at that time of the night, most beers for $2.50, as well as BOGO pizza's. What I especially loved about this pizza place was that they are ALLERGY friendly. What i mean by that is that they are very strong about accommodating those patrons who have food allergies including Gluten and Dairy free options. I ordered a 4x4 pizza, minus a 4. What that contained was 4 meats (Sausage, pepperoni, Prosciutto & Bacon) it is supposed to come with 4 different cheeses, however I had it replaced with Vegan cheese. My 2nd pizza ordered was the wood roasted vegetable pizza, which contained wild mushrooms, broccoli, onions, peppers, fresh oregano and again, replaced with vegan cheese. Topped them off with a glass of Fullsteam Big tent (4.5 alcohol content) and NC Scrimshaw pilsner (4.7% alcohol content) The staff was very friendly and attentive...very young, so no experience with the knowledge about the beers, however still quick with the food and service, especially working solo handling 10 of us. STAY AWAY - STAY FAR AWAY I write this as eat my room temperature pizza. Where to start? Well, with STAY AWAY, obviously. Have to start there. They could not have worse customer service if they tried. If the staff started each day with a meeting to ask, "How can we drive customers away most efficiently?" they couldn't do a worse job. They ruined dinner from two restaurants with their incompetence. Yeah, I don't know how either, but they did. My wife and kids wanted dinner from Burger 21, but I wasn't feeling burgers. So I thought I'd be smart and place orders from both places for the same pickup time. Around 5pm I ordered both places for 6pm pickup. Give them plenty of time. Selected curbside for both. If I was lucky I wouldn't have to move the car, but whatever. I get a confirmation of the time from Burger 21 in minutes. Nothing from Blechxxx for 30 minutes, and then it says 6:15. Great, that means my burgers will be cold. I shouldn't have gotten fancy. Oh well, my bad. I drive to the shopping center, park at 5:58 in one of the pickup spots, and call Burger 21. Within 2 minutes they come out, smile on the guy's face, and deliver our bag of food. I drive over to Blechxxx...no pickup spots...oh wait, there's one, but someone is in it already...no biggie, I'm still early. I circle, find a spot, and park. I pull up the email confirmation and it says to call. I hit the number and my phone dials...and as soon as it picks up, it hangs up. I try 3 more times. My wife googles the place to make sure it is the right number and calls from her phone, same thing, instant hangup. So I go in. It's 6:08. I'm early, but maybe my food is ready. I stand by the hostess stand. And stand. And stand. And stand, she leaves a table and heads towards me, as I stand phone in hand ready to show her my order number. She deftly dodges around me. She jots something down on the pad, and I patiently wait, not wanting to interrupt her train of thought. And she leaves without making eye contact. She comes back 2 minutes later, and dodges me again with no eye contact. Meanwhile at least 2 other wait staff, who obviously trained under her in customer avoidance, have buzzed past me with no eye contact. Okay, a greeting and directions on what to do SINCE I DON'T WORK THERE would be nice, but fine. I head to the bar where someone else's takeout order is being prepped, a big order. I wait for the guy to make eye contact and at least greet me, but no, of course not. Around 6:18 he finishes the other order. I've been watching pizzas fly out of the oven like crazy, so I figure mine is one of them, piping hot. I tell him my name and my order...he checks a list...and pulls mine out of a cabinet? A refrigerator? Certainly not a warming oven because it wasn't warm at all. I've seen this guy since I walked in at 6:-8 and he was working on that one order. So the 10 minutes I've been standing there ignored, my food was sitting around. So the burgers and fries were lukewarm when I got home, but still warmer than my pizza. STAY AWAY. I was asked if I wanted a refill three times and never got it. The cleanliness was a huge factor in the rating. It's hard to eat at a place that isn't clean.
