I've ordered from Brizio about once a month or so for a couple of years (it is my go to pizza place). I order gluten free. I've always enjoyed the pizza and the delivery folk are always nice. I had a recent mishap and Nima the manager took very good care of me. This is the first time I've had an issue with Brizio. I was frustrated because normally when I order my order shows up and the phone attendant is able to confirm that I'm a creature of habit and ordering the same thing. One time I asked for a side of ranch which must have been noted because on a different night the driver said, "I brought you some ranch too." Great customer service. However, on the night I had an issue the pizza came and it was not gluten free. I sat down to enjoy the pizza and was instantly sad upon opening the box. I called Brizio and received the option to remake the pizza or have it refunded. Small issue upon small issue on the phone I finally got to the point when I had to nicely say, "forget it, refund my money" (there was some confusion on gluten free items). I then received a call within five minutes from Nima. He apologized to me for the misunderstanding and replaced my order and refunded my money. GREAT customer service again. When the pizza arrived it was just as I expected... AMAZING! I was even gifted a free dessert (cheesecake) which was delicious as well. I'm 100% Californian and have never tried Chicago-style pizza. That said, my review isn't about how close this is to true Chicago-style pizza.. it's simply about the pizza. As many of the other Yelpers have already stated, Brizio kind of tastes like Pizza Hut. The old Pizza Hut, anyway. Pizza Hut has really gone down in taste and quality over the years and Brizio reminds me of PH pizza from when I was a kid. Sure, it wasn't the BEST pizza, but kids love all pizza! It took me back to the good ol' days so I was fairly happy with that. However, the deduction of two stars is due to sanitation. I should probably take off another star based on the two incidents that happened while I was there, but I feel generous so what the heck. Both incidents occurred while I was standing at the counter so I had a good view. I was standing there ready to order when my sister whispered for me to look at the guys making the pizzas. I glanced over and saw a man (not the one making the pizzas.. looked like the manager or something) reach his hand into a container containing the sausage, pop a few into his mouth, then throw the rest back into the container. Was he wearing gloves? NOPE. It was quite disgusting. We should have walked out.. yet we didn't. So despite what we had just witnessed, I ordered two pizzas. I was given the total by the friendly girl that works there, but there was something wrong with the cash register and it wouldn't open. THAT is when incident two occurred. The same guy who sampled the toppings came over to take care of the register. He grabbed a pizza cutter/slicer, jammed it into the machine, and popped it open. This might have been okay if he had used a clean cutter and thrown it into the sink after he was done.. but the one he grabbed was off the counter. As in.. covered in sauce. What's worse? He put it back on the counter to be used again. We watched them carefully after this happened to make sure they used a clean cutter with our pizza (which they did.) Unless they *clean* up their act, I won't be back. read more

This is one of the best pizzerias around. We visited some friends this past week and they bought us dinner from this place. The dough is thick and fluffy and sturdy enough to hold a ton of toppings. We had both their white sauce and their red sauce on our pizzas and both were great. Hopefully we will be able to come back and try other items such as their meatball sandwiches. And even though we have only been their once, they sure made a lasting impression! read more

I love pizza, and this is the best pizza place I've been to. The toppings are between two layers of gooey cheese so that they don't fall off the pizza. It also has pizza and Italian food for a variety of food cravings. Brizio has a great atmosphere at night for a date night and during the day it's great to go with the family for lunch together in the cute brick wall "hole in the wall" restaurant. read more

I thought the sauce was bland and from a can, the ingredients were generic / not fresh, and we had the misfortune of ordering thin crust, which was like a piece of cardboard that was clearly frozen and taken out of plastic - not fresh dough at all. I know I have to lower my standards when ordering pizza in Lake Forest, we seriously have no good places to eat here which is especially true for pizza delivery, but this pizza was inedible. read more

I've tried pizza all over and this was 1 of the worst. The pizza is made by putting all the toppings under the cheese. It's bad enough when you're only talking about 1 topping but more than 1 is just awful. Because the toppings are sitting in the sauce and under the cheese - they are VERY mushy. Never again. If you want inexpensive pizza, order from Dominos. If you want high quality pizza with high quality toppings, order at Brizio. For people who only like Chicago or New York style pizza...... this is closer to Chicago style but it doesn't taste like you are eating a loaf of bread like some Chicago Style pizza does.
