Bryan is the guy to go to. Our neighbors Box Elder tree came crashing into our yard late one night, and we had a huge mess on our hands. The next morning Bryan came by, gave an estimate, and the following morning he had his crew take care of everything while we were out of town. By the time we got back from our trip to MI, my dog was back in his yard again! They were really reasonably priced and really fast. They even cleaned up our tree while they were there! It was just so nice to come home and have this nightmare lifted off of our shoulders. Being a landscape designer, I have been asked to help with many projects. There have been a few that have had their fair share of challenges, including a project for a non profit dog kennel in Riverwoods called Orphans of the Storm. They had wanted to create a Dog Agility park area on their grounds for the dogs to enjoy to honor a volunteer that passed away from West Nile Virus. The area was awful. Full of wild raspberry, sticker bush plants of all kinds and tons of stumps and invasive Buckthorn. Since I know Bryan personally I asked him to take a look and give me a price. He looked, and we talked and he finally said "Did I tell you about the dog I got from here? Her name was Carrie.." I remember the dog and the story. "I think if I get my 4 guys in here we can clear this thing up in one day, so I'll do it for free." I was beyond overwhelmed, I never thought that would be a possibility. We talked about not using chemical herbicides to eradicate the Buckthorn because Orphans was nervous for the dogs. They came in, they spent the entire day, hand cutting out the Buckthorn, stumping the stumps, clearing the brush...and they wound up only having 3 guys! We encountered some objects we did not forsee...tons of garbage, chunks of concrete, piles of rocks and mysteriously buried metal covered concrete item... It didn't matter they worked like a well oiled machine, and cleared the entire area all 4200 square feet of it just before the rain came. They cleaned up after themselves, and you would have never known they were there....except there is no Buckthorn in that area anymore. I owe him many Thanks from all of us. This project would have never gotten off the ground if it weren't for him and his generosity, and because of that, they were able to buy the better quality agility equipment from the donations they received. Just had the most amazing experience with the owner of Broadleaf Tree Care! Bryan was so helpful and knowledgable. He seemed to know every tree and knew just what each one needed. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy with the work, and also added several items not in the contract for no charge that really improved the shade problem we were having. He also was a fountain of information about the building trades, and was able to recommend an irrigation expert and a stone mason. My husband and I were already very happy with the work, and I don't usually give reviews. However, several weeks after finishing the contract, Bryan stopped by to give my husband a book about shipwrecks in the Great Lakes, which is an interest they both share. He also gave us some fresh cherries from Michigan that he bought over the week end. A kind-hearted soul who takes pride in his work. So nice to know we will never have to worry about our trees for as long as we live in the Chicago area. Highly recommended! read more
