My experience here is as a worker, and I can say that I can barely rate his business and establishment a one star. Regularly trying to rely on the back of women and women catching his mistakes and fixing them is the sole purpose of his being. With the series of messages that I attached, you can closely see how he directs me to speak to one of his long-term coworkers, but later on says that he's the boss and that I'm supposed to be telling everything to him, but he himself does not know everything nor know anything about his own front of the house staff. But can take cash out of the register every single night. Along with that has an ego stroke and cannot handle when constructive criticism is due based on him and how he runs his business which he runs his business on not knowing anything about the front of the house but blaming his staff on why his front of the house is not working or cooperating or people can't stay. I do not know personally the gentleman that owned this establishment before Jose but I can say customers genuinely expressed, my time while being there, that they enjoyed the previous owner rather than Jose. Along with questioning behavior, some should question about quality of them keeping their food sanitary enough for you to consume (yes raw meat/seafood are on the floor) . Wanted to give a fifth star but close, just a few things to be adjusted. Solid tho. Wife had the soup with her entree and it was luke warm. Not too bad but just, not warm. Side salads for everyone else was good. Baked clams and fried zucchini were good. Fried zucchini was a little under seasoned as was the marinara sauce. Salt was on the table so I can't figure out whether they were leaving to customer or just that they didn't season well. The zucchini tho, was quite crispy. The baked clams were good flavor. Entrees were, on the other hand well seasoned. Lasagne did have peas. Trying to get my head around that - they didn't really add anything to the taste and when you cook them, they become grey and mushy. Nevertheless, they were there and didn't take away from the taste. The waitress definitely was short of help. Sounds like they were training some new folks that was kinda making more work for the waitress who i think was the only one for the whole place. We first tried this restaurant several years ago and it quickly became our favorite in the area. it doesn't look like much from the outside, but has a nice atmosphere once you walk in. Salute is a byob restaurant and reasonably priced for the high quality of the food and service. We always have a top notch experience with the delicious food and pleasant, professional service. One note- make reservations (I believe you have to call)! They are a small, popular restaurant and fill up quickly, especially on weekends. Some of our favorite dishes are the hot dates appetizer (melt in your mouth!), veal Sinatra, chicken/veal toscano, and coconut flounder. But truly everything we've ever eaten here has been delicious. read more

Just a solid, reliable, authentic Italian restaurant. You can always count on a consistantly great meal with top notch service. And who dosen't love a byob! Surprisingly however, Saturday night at prime dinner time there were many empty tables. We have never seen that before. They are always packed on a Saturday night. We just hope they did that on purpose to keep it managable. Seemed only one server and one lady bussing tables. We were a party of 9 which probably added to keeping it managable. Anyway everyone enjoyed their meal and we all ordered something different. I fluxuated between eggplant parm and the Tilapia Francaise. I decided to stay with my usual Tilapia as it has always been my favorite. However, after I saw the eggplant parm I was sorry I didn't try that one. Salute has become a weekly regular for my parents and I! There food is always incredible. I know I can eat healthy here with delicious soup and a salad or a great chicken dish or I could always get an incredible Italian dish. My favorite chicken Sinatra (YUM) or the shrimp I got last night (my mouths still watering) my boyfriends favorite is the classic chicken parm! So delicious I always eat some of his too. It is a byob which is fabulous because you can bring your own wines to pair with the great food! Also, if you have a sweet tooth their tiramisu and bread pudding is the best I've had in this area. I don't usually like tiramisu but I always order it here! The waitstaff is extremely nice and go above and beyond to make sure you've had a great meal. As does the owner/chef, who walks around making sure everyone's meal and dinner is ok. They have a tent(heated!!) and outdoor dinning too! So they will be open! read more

The shopping center location is deceiving. It looks like a little pizza place, but when you step inside, you find a beautiful little Italian restaurant. I treated my uncle to lunch here based on another family members recommendation and we both enjoyed it. The decor is much nicer than the exterior would suggest, and the artificial(?) Tree in the center of the room adds a certain whimsical feel to the upscale( ish)room. The lunch menu contains smaller portions of their more popular items along with sandwiches and even personal size tomatoes pies. I slightly regret not trying a pie or burger. I selected an item from their 3 course lunch menu, my uncle picked a pasta entree. He enjoyed his vodka rigatoni, it appeared to be a small portion but the plate may have been deceiving, plenty left to take home. I chose chicken parm, mine came with a choice of a few apps, I had a garlic bread topped with diced zucchini cooked in tomato sauce, a simple idea that was very tasty and not over cooked. The chicken was better than average, 2 thinly pounded pieces with a tasty breading and a vibrant red sauce. For dessert I was served 2 mini cannolis, they were ok. For the price and amount of food this was a pretty good deal at around $14. Aside from the decor, nothing in this meal raised the review to 4 stars, but it was certainly at least 3.5. Service was ok, our waiter had a bit of an air about him that was not in keeping with the casual vibe of the place. I probably would not chose to try a dinner here, but if someone else picked it I might go along. read more

I wish I had taken pictures but I was too wrapped up in the ambiance and how excited I was to have date night with my awesome boyfriend. Lol! This restaurant is beautiful. As soon as I walked in I was wowed. It was very crowded when we arrived for our 8pm reservation and we were seated immediately. My first impression was how intimate and pretty the space was. The lights were beautiful and the music was fun. Our server was really good and I loved that it was a BYOB. Our pasta with lobster and shrimp was phenomenal, especially the sauce. We came in with a 615p Friday reservation as a group of six. Seated immediately at a round table in the center of the dining area. The round table is always nice as it is easier to converse. Ambiance is nice, subdued lighting and cozy feel, but not tight or crowded. It seemed loud. I think we had something to do with that. The place is fairly new, and in a strip mall. Our server came by and announced the specials then brought some water. The place is a byob and each couple brought a bottle. We chatted for a bit and had some wine. Bread was brought out - warm and fresh. It was nice that we never felt rushed by the server who let us enjoy our drinks and conversation with out pressuring us to order. Food was tasty and plentiful. I had ziti with pork shoulder. The sauce was memorable. I started with a cup of barley soup which was ok. My wife had lasagna which she loved but could not finish. She thought her salad was over drenched in dressing. Others got fish. Everyone was pleased with their dishes. We were going dutch with the other couples and the bill was $83 for the two of us. This seems a bit high for a typical Italian place eating two plates of pasta, some bread, soup and a salad in Morrisville PA. It was all good though and we had a nice time with our friends. What a cute addition to the area! Before our student's high school graduation, a bunch of us from school went to Salute for a wonderful end-of-year dinner! We called ahead because we were on a strict time constraint, and they were super accommodating, and seated us at 4:30pm, despite not technically opening until 5pm. The interior is super adorable, with a tree and light wrapped pole, beautiful artwork on the walls, and slightly sexy curtain draping throughout. It's BYOB which is always a plus for me. When we sat down, they brought over cold packs to keep the wine chilled (complete in a grape design, of course!) What a great and less messy alternative to keep wine cold! For the table, we ordered Salute Bread which blew my mind, it was so delicious - for good reason too, it was doused in olive oil and butter #healthy. Brace yourself, its toasted Italian bread, topped with sautéed zucchini, tomatoes, red onions, fresh basil, and Parmesan cheese, drowned in in garlic butter sauce. Drool. Hard time not eating the entire loaf by myself. Everyone's dishes looked delicious, I ordered off the specials menu - it was a Pappardelle pasta with steak and shrimp, complete with mushrooms and truffle oil. Very heavy, but delicious nonetheless. Healthy sized portions, and I would have taken my leftovers, but we were headed to graduation and a couple hours, and didn't want it sitting in my car. The staff are super friendly and accommodating! We had a couple food restrictions due to gluten intolerance/allergies, and they had no problem adjusting their dishes to serve their needs! I dined at Salute several years ago and enjoyed my meal very much. I was looking forward to returning to celebrate my father's birthday. That was wishful thinking. The server was nice, but not overly friendly. It seemed everyone enjoyed their meal but me. There was an issue with my meal and our server immediately corrected the problem. When several other issues occurred with my meal later in the evening, the owner or manager, not sure who he was came over. It was an attitude from the beginning. He stared at me when I explained what was wrong and did not offer an apology or solution to the issue of three sharp objects in my chicken. I almost cracked my tooth but his response was well you didn't! He was defensive and rude. I'm not sure if the meal was taken off, but I doubt it. This restaurant has gone downhill since I have been there. Go down the street to Cafe Antonio for a better meal and friendly staff and service. read more

You can tell a lot about an Italian restaurant by the quality of their veal and Salute had a veal and eggplant special this past Sunday that was just plain outstanding. And if that's not enough praise, their red sauce was among the best I've had that didn't come out of a friend or neighbor's garden. Their menu is quite large and varied with seafood, chicken, veal and pastas, many daily specials, along great shareable appetizers and a desert menu that was really tempting but we were too stuffed to try. Prices are very fair and portions are large enough to take home leftovers for lunch the next day. We aren't local to Salute, but if we were it would be a regular go to for us. It's definitely at the top of the list for next time we are in the Morrisville are. read more

Salute Ristorante is another in the new and tasty options in the renaissance of Morrisville, Pa. It sits on West Trenton Avenue, where Centre Fruit used to be and next to the venerable dive Morrisville Tavern. Don't let the neighborhood deter you, because Salute is a very good Italian shop, with dark modern tones, and interesting menu. I stopped in for lunch today after having it on my Bookmark list for about a year. This is not a pizzeria by any stretch, in fact the only way you get a tomato pie is when it is offered as a special. This place is all about a creative kitchen that spins out fresh and well considered dishes with panache. It is pricey for Morrisville, but the quality of the offerings made me forget that I was still in this struggling river town. If they can do that, they are indeed, approaching magical. Lunch included a small bowl of soup, and I chose the 16 Bean alternative. It was a solid performer, although I confess to not counting the beans. They were well cooked and soft enough to show they were simmered a long time. The elbow macaroni in the mix contributed to the interesting textures. I could easily imagine a soup and salad return visit. My eggplant parmesan sandwich became a platter upon request. Didn't want all that bread, and my table had a large half loaf delivered up front with my water. I was more than happy with a couple of its large sesame slices and a swipe of cool butter. The plate was beautifully presented. The chunky red sauce and white mozzarella covered the unbreaded thin slices of nightshade like an abstract painting framed by the square white ceramic. Heavy silver toned utensils made short work of the cutting and lifting. The taste was very nice, with the homemade sauce providing moral support to the veggie and cheese. It might have been a tad salty, but not enough to detract from the pleasure of eating. Salute is a worthy addition to the growing (still nascent) restaurant scene in Morrisville. This restaurant located in a strip mall sandwiched between an empty space and Morrisville Tavern may not look like much from the outside, but it is indeed a diamond in the rough amongst Morrisville's otherwise lackluster dining scene. Beautifully and modernly appointed, the intimate space tends to fill up quickly on weekends. Reservations, especially on a weekend, are suggested. We were warmly greeted by the hostess as soon as we walked in, and later by the owner himself, who was working the room. The owner, likely recognizing us as first timers to his restaurant, wanted to know how we had heard of his place and a little bit about us. Service was very attentive; at least two other staff members besides our waiter stopped to clear items off of our table or refresh our waters. Service was attentive but not rushed- we, along with some other diners, seemed to be enjoying a leisurely dinner on a Friday night. As for the food, we were pleased, and decided we would be back. We started with Trenton tomato pie as an appetizer and the Salute salad to share. The mini sized pie was wonderful. The salad with candied walnuts, cranberries and olives, was also good and a bit different. The pasta fagioli soup that came next (entrees come with either soup or salad) was delicious, and obviously homemade. For entrees, I had the Wild Cod with champagne sauce and mushrooms, while my husband opted for Rack of Lamb. The portion of lamb was very generous, and the lamb itself was nicely seasoned. We ended with apple crisp for dessert which is made in house and provided a sweet finish to our meal. The BYO aspect is always a plus. Be sure to bring a bottle or two. Dinner for two was $100, which was absolutely fair for what we got. The restaurant has been open for approximately 18 months. I wish them many more years of success. read more

Don't mind paying a little more for fresh, chef prepared food, however, tha lay two times I gone here that has not been my experience. Unfortunately, the cost has gone up and the quality had gone down. in the past the calamari was fresh, now it's frozen then breaded. the quality of the chicken has dropped also. I ordered Sesame tuna and when I could tell it was frozen before being cooked. I am not a food critic or snob, but I have eaten enough good food to know the difference. It's a shame, this has been our favorite place to eat. I think the chef buying the restaurant has become a detriment to the business. making money seems to be prevailing over quality food and customer experience. read more

OMG Salute was fabulous for dinner last night! It is pricey but we felt they gave you your money's worth especially since it's a BYOB. It is located in Morrisville in a portion of the old Centre Fruit location. M'ville seems to be quite the dining spot these days with Comfort Food & Non Pasta Solo down the street. I had a special..an enormous bowl of mussels, huge shrimp & new Zealand clams over an unusual large flat rigatoni marinara. It was so tasty! I ate most of it forcing myself not to leave behind more than a few bites. The dinner comes with a lovely fresh salad perfectly dressed & really delicious crusty Italian bread. My friend had a very large thick pork chop saltimbocca. She loved it! She ordered a half order of pasta to go with it. We shared a piece of homemade chocolate chip cheesecake to share. Our only negatives were we thought the coffee was much too weak & Salute is small & can get noisy...minor compared to all that works. Service was fabulous & our server seemed to take particular joy in our swoons over the food. The owner/chef was wandering around & came to check up on us. He was so pleasant & I remember the other time I was at Salute for lunch, he came to talk with us. One particular note of appreciation is their specials are written out in detail with prices included along with in the menu. Restaurants that insist on having a server blurt out a flurry of dishes..rarely mentioning price..do a disservice to their customers and themselves. Giving customers the opportunity to study & review the entire offering helps them select exactly what they want. Both of us chose specials last night & were delighted. Reservations are a must!
