I have been so bothered by the bad fortune that has befallen my very favorite donut shop in Long Beach. I have heard through the LB grapevine that they might not reopen...anyone have more info on that? *sniffle* It is, hands down, the best donut shop in town. The BF and I tried a different one recommended to us by a gal who lives across the street from Broadway donuts as the three of us stood peering through the window of the shop, mouths agape at the sight of counter and coffee-dispenser carnage left over from the wreck. Your blueberry donuts are just dreamy - the combination of your dainty crumbed interior with a dense but soft and fluffy taste, blueberry sauce and crumble on top is a very lovely surprise. They have perfected the classic donut. Nothing beats these donuts. Sure you can go to one of those trendy donut places and get captain crunch on your donut and be like oh that's good. Broadway donuts doesn't have to do that. They have perfected the basics and have the best donuts. I love this place. read more

THE. BEST. DONUTS. EVER. I can't emphasize that enough. I don't know what the family secret is, but their donuts are absolutely extraordinary. You simply haven't had anything like these before. The flavors are delicate, the pastry fluffy. Forget those greasy rings you get at other places. My wife and I have been enjoying their baking for over a year, and even though we've moved out of the area we still make the drive to get our Broadway Donuts fix. Visited twice. First time, they were out of old-fashioned donuts, so I had to get a buttermilk bar. Got that shit home and realized it was undercooked. I mean, raw and sticky inside. Went a second time and got an old-fashioned. That shit was also raw. Gross. read more

Highly recommended strictly based on their abundant coffee options as well as flavored delicious creamers available. THEY EVEN HAVE BAILEYS CREAMER! THE Choco twist donut was smaller then I am usually acustom to yet perfectly sized for how hungry I was. I do love me some donuts. I like nice, fluffy donuts glazed with exactly the right amount of glaze. I like chocolate-frosted donuts, the kind where the frosting is just gooey enough to stick securely to the donut - but solid enough to crack a little when you bite into it. I like donuts that are sweet, but not sickeningly sweet like Krispy Kremes. In short: I love the donuts here at Broadway Donuts. To my taste buds, these are the best donuts I've had in Los Angeles County. "Momma" and "Poppa" always great you with a "Hi sweetie", or some such, and are always all smiles. If one of the kids is taking care of you they're equally friendly. It's a family owned donut shop, just as one should be. The FAMOUS Broadway Doughnut (look for the picture with DEXTER) is a neighborhood favorite. Ham and cheese croissants are AMAZING. They offer a jalapeño option as well. Love it! What I will miss the most about living in Long Beach when I move is how great the coffee is at Broadway Donuts :( some of the creamers-like the Coconut Cream, I've never seen before! They are very nice and even gave my daughter free donut holes on a few occasions. My daughter spilled a small cup of milk this weekend and the guy behind the counter didn't make me feel bad, he just cleaned it up. He even offered me a towel to wipe my daughter down. This place is awesome. The ham & cheese croissants and turkey & cheese croissants are so delicious. It is always so fresh and the filling inside are plentiful. Most donut shops' croissants put very little of everything in their croissants, but not this one. Talk about variety in coffee selection: this place by far has the most coffee display and coffee creamer I have ever seen in a donut shop. read more

Huge selection of coffee and creamers, delicious donuts, personable owners. What's not to love? I've come here several times for some cheap coffee (a large for $2!), which you can personalize with different roasts and creamers and I have never been disappointed. Although the donuts are probably a bit more expensive than most mom & pop stores (pretty much $1/donut), they are worth it! The texture is great and isn't airy like some places. Although street parking can be slightly annoying (especially with the one way streets), this is a trip I will gladly make any morning. read more

I woke up this morning wondering what good eats should I have for breakfast. Of course I went to Yelp.com (it has not disappointed me so far) and look for breakfast around my area. I usually go to Sunrise Donuts down the street but I needed a different experience. Seeing that Broadway donuts was at the top of the list I decided to check it out. It looks like a normal donut shop outside but once I stepped in, I knew from the atmosphere that the owners has pride in this place. It is clean and organized, from the self serve coffee area to the donut display. And there was a line of regulars (a good sign) inside. The woman behind the counter gave excellent service, down to letting a couple wash their hands at their sink behind her. The choices were slimmed down but it is 11 am and I already knew what I wanted. At the self serve coffee area was a variety of fresh coffee, sweeteners, and creams (dairy and non dairy) to fit any coffee lover palates. My coffee was the french roast with vanilla caramel cream and sugar. It was the BEST coffee I had in REALLY long time! The glaze donut melted in my mouth and the croissant flaky, buttery crust and moist and fluffy center. I couldn't even drive so before I took several more sips of my coffee. The prices is cheap considering things are usually more expensive near downtown Long Beach. For all locals and visitors, go show Broadway Donuts some love and play Starbucks with your coffee :-) read more

Small little neighborhood donut shop off Broadway and Orange. Small selection of donuts with a huge selection of coffee creamers. They also have a variety of breakfast sandwich's made on bagels or croissants. Donuts were nice and fresh and the service was quick and friendly. I got an apple fritter and my wife got a cake donut with white frosting and sprinkles. She liked hers but said it was "nothing special." My fritter was soft and tasty. I really enjoyed it. All the flavors of creamer are just things you can buy in the grocery store, i.e. Coffe-Mate, which doesn't excite me. There is no seating in the shop so don't plan on eating your donuts there. That's not a problem but it's good to be aware. We wen't on a rainy day so we couldn't enjoy one of the tables and chairs on the sidewalk. The gentleman who helped us was friendly. read more
