First time eating here and the last. I had a burger and fries ( $21 ). There was nothing special about it and on the small side. I had one beer which was okay, but what irritated me was there was about one and a half inches of beer still left in my glass, and the server was about to take it away. No no no. Let me finish it! I ordered a second beer and there was something at the bottom of the glass. Disgusting. My significant other had soup and a salad. This place is a gem. Everything that we tried was great here. It is a spacious and chill place with live music accompanying the dishes.

Great meal and nice staff in a beautiful space! My husband and I had a delicious steak dinner.

What we ordered: Broadway grill burger- 2/5 (wouldn't order again) I asked for medium well and the patty was very dry/no flavor Mac n cheese-delicious (would definitely order again) French fries that came w/my burger - good but cold and dipped it in aioli sauce (lots of it) Lamb chops-yummm delicious cooked perfectly(would order again) Garlic cheese rye bread - the host recommended this dish so I thought why not- ehhh it was ok by the time it got to our table it was cold (might order again but make sure it isn't cold) The service and our servers were excellent. Our server asked how my burger was and I told him so he offered to take it off the bill..and he even gave us a complimentary chocolate mousse dessert that was devoured in a matter of seconds. Okay place. The music was much too loud, even though we were seated as far away from the piano as possible. It was very challenging to have a conversation, which made the visit less enjoyable. There's no need to have a microphone and amplify sound that is carrying across the room. The drinks were fine. The bar feels very makeshift, the materials looked cheap compared to the rest of the venue. When you walk inside it looks elegant, but the bar feels crammed, like it's an afterthought. This place is awesome. I usually do not write review unless it was an unforgettable experience. We came here 2 yrs in a roll. Since we always have a large party and kids, so we booked the upstair corner for private party. And for this year, I booked here for a dinner as well. We dined in as a family of 4 at 5 pm on a Saturday Food: pretty good! We had Caesar salad, rockfish on risotto special, New York steak with green beans and mashed potatoes, side of brussels sprouts, kids spaghetti (with butter and cheese, FYI not a tomato sauce). My husband, though, said the meat inside was gray though, not the usual red, and almost rare instead of medium. So I wonder if it was frozen at one point. My son loved his Caesar salad! He says this is his new favorite restaurant (replaced Sizzlers) Rockfish was crispy and well seasoned. Enjoyed the plentiful asparagus and spinach that accompanied. We used to live in the area but still come back often for work. We love trying all the different restaurants in Burlingame and this place caught our eye. It had such an interesting interior, there was live music, and the husband was in the market for a steak. We thought, why not try something new? Bad idea. There is a reason why we had never heard of this place during the four years we lived nearby. We were seated then, no lie, never seen again. We waited for 15 minutes, giving meaningful glances to any staff who made eye contact with us. Nothing. Other people around us also seemed desperate to get some attention themselves, craning their necks looking for staff to come over. We were all in the same boat, apparently. There was no lack of personnel, by the way. Plenty of cooks in the open kitchen, plus multiple servers and hostesses all *somewhere*, just not at tables. 2.5 stars You never get a second chance to make a first impression and, unfortunately, Broadway Grill lost its shot with us. Disappointment after disappointment from the get-go. Allow me to list them for you: 1. Upon checking in for our 9 PM reservation made via OpenTable, our future waitress reacted with a tired surprise to see us booked for a table in the system. She mentioned that they were already closed to which I informed her that the app accepted our request since it indicated that the restaurant did not close until 10 PM and offered reservation slots up to 9:45 PM. 2. We were seated at our table sans menus, which took some time to receive. 3. Several menu items were sold out. 4. After ordering our food, we waited and waited for some table bread to be served to us, but nothing ever came. When we asked if any was coming, we were told that they "ran out." They showed no intention of serving something to make up for the lack of bread, not even an apology. 5. Food was good, but entree portions were very small...so small that we had to go straight to McDonald's because we, especially the kids, were still hungry after dinner. Due to sold out menu items, they were willing to accommodate custom substitutions, but, overall, service had a heavy air of fatigue to the point of appearing too exhausted to care about providing a high quality dining experience. read more

Service, or lack thereof, really killed our experience at Broadway Grill. When we first walked in, there was no one to welcome us at the door. I made eye contact with various wait staff and bartenders but I guess if it's not your job, then don't acknowledge patrons. Eventually the lady returned, likely from seating another table, and we were sat promptly as we had a reservation. First thoughts...ambiance was awesome. Restaurant was brightly lit from all the windows. Warm summer air flowing in set the perfect tone for a potentially great father's day dinner too. Plus, the live music was at a good volume and was playing a variety of jazz and other classic hits. When our waiter first came by, he got us our drinks and recommended a few specials for the night. He was friendly, but not overbearing. This was probably the high point of our service tonight. When he brought out our food, he didn't remember which plate belonged to who and he also failed to bring us utensils and napkins (had to ask 2 separate times). In regards to the food, it was actually pretty good. Mom certainly enjoyed their prime rib, but thought the steamed vegetables were overdone. Brother had the porterhouse and devoured the 20oz behemoth with ease. Dad liked his tri tip which was braised beautifully and fork tender. I thought my lamb chops were seasoned very well and I really enjoyed my potatoes gratin. It had that crusty top and gooey cheesiness between the thinly sliced potatoes. Yum! After we reached a stopping point in our meal, he came over and asked if we needed boxes. We asked for 2 and then he left. It was 6:45pm. He then proceeded to wait on 4 other tables before returning to us to take our plates so he could box them himself...??? When he returns, he plops our neatly bagged doggie boxes on the table and leaves again to serve other tables. We don't hear from him again until much later when he asked if we wanted dessert. We really weren't feeling our extended wait times so we declined and asked for the check. I presented a discount card and asked if I could apply it tonight and he said sure. After checking on all the surrounding tables again (he didn't even check on us this much during our meal), he finally presents the check. Lo and behold, no discount applied. It took us another few minutes to flag him down and inquire at which point he tersely replies "Ok. But will you pay now too?" Uh, yeah I guess. We hand over the discount card and a credit card to pay. We just sat and waited and waited and waited. Jeez, it's like he was shopping on Amazon or something. When the adjusted check returns (bogo entree), we find that it's been swiped for an obligatory 20% tip too. Don't worry, we're good tippers...but you better be sure your service warrants it. And I guarantee you a 50 minute check settling time after a meal that lasted only 45 minutes does not warrant it! read more

I love this place. From the moment I walked in I was impressed. They have a live band and singer. Every person I came across was very polite and professional. Now let's talk about the amazing food. We had the mussels in this amazing cream sauce. The I had the wild caught Salmon (it was sooooo fresh) it came with Brussels sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes. I came here years ago and it was horrible, bad service etc. Today I was getting my nails done across the street and Sawba banner saying "under new management" so I texted my husband and said "let's bring the kids ti dinner here" So we went and we have 4 kids. Oldest 5 year old, 3 and half year old twins and a 1 year old. Service was A+ and the kids loved it, they brought the kids food out ASAP, everything was a million times better than before. This review is based on one visit. This place was on my radar the last time I was in town two years ago but didn't get to eat here. I'm glad that I looked it up again this time. I was a little perplexed while trying to find parking. Fortunately, I found a parking lot around the block as there were no storefront spaces available. I checked in on Yelp and received a 10% off coupon for dining on a Monday. I was greeted and seated quickly and was given a drink menu and a food menu. I selected a local beer to drink and ordered the King's Cut Prime Rib cooked medium and asked for Au Gratin Potatoes and Shells & Cheese instead of the baked potato and vegetable. Some mini biscuits were served while I was waiting for my food. While I was waiting for my food, music stated playing from above and the lighting in the restaurant changed. There was a drummer and a keyboardist playing from the upper level. Soon, four signers stated signing downstairs to the music. The music featured were Motown style tunes. Although it is not my preferred style of music, these people did a great job! The food arrived and the Prime Rib was cooked perfectly; however, there was a noticeable lack of juice. It didn't matter as it tasted great and came with au jus to dip. The Au Gratin Potatoes had great flavor but was slightly under-cooked The shells & cheese were average. Good Italian food. We waited about 20-25 minutes for our entrees, which was average. Nice decor, with lights practically everywhere and high, two story ceilings. The performers were on a raised stage on a sort of balcony above everyone, which was kind of cool, and the singer came down with her chordless mic and started singing some tunes, which got the crowd going. The experience was a combination of a quiet Italian dinner with subtle background music to a small jazz concert with nice drinks. mmm and they have good scotch. =] OH! and the band even sang a Jackson 5 song for the King of Pop, even though it wasn't their genre. =[ RIP MJ. read more

I like this place. It was a nice change from the blockbuster store I worked at as a teenager. I've met many groups there for dinner, I've gone for music, and even just to grab a glass of wine. I heard for Easter, that Broadway Grill was providing a buffet. I was really eager to try. I was disappointed. The food options were minimal. The bacon was way under cooked, still raw. I should have taken pictures. They did put out crab cakes toward the end , the one I tried was good. However, I don't think I've ever had white hollandaise sauce in my restaurant career and or life. it was almost like a water down Alfredo sauce. The dessert table was limited to cookies and fruits. While the restaurant had many staff, our Plates and glasses were taken one. By. One. literally. They put on a great effort and kept my coffee cup full, which I was pleased about. I would have liked to try the 5$ mimosas but due to company, I stuck with coffee. Unfortunately, was not worth the $45 per person. I tip on service however, there was a 20% gratuity already added. I thought gratuity was for parties? There was only three of us. Came here on a Friday night with a few friends to watch the Warriors game. Ambiance was great! We were seated right away upon arrival. Waitress would constantly check on us to ask if we were ready - good follow up and customer service. We mainly had appetizers, - calamari, salmon crostini and the arancini - which we are all good! Steak serving was huge which justified the price. The dessert selection was amazing we ended up trying everything! Live band added a nice touch too. I hadn't been to the Broadway Grill in years but decided to check it out again when I heard that this amazing Jazz band that I had often seen in San Francisco, (led by Greg Gottelli featuring the beautiful blues voice of Loretta) was going to be playing at the Grill for free. Finally, thanks to the Broadway Grill, the area is going to have live music the whole family can enjoy. I went for the music, but was thrilled by the food. The beet salad was one of the best I've ever had. I ordered garlic bread just as a side. When the Garlic Rye bread with melted cheese first came, I was a bit leery. It looked intense, but on the first bite, I was hooked. I'll go back just for the rye. And you don't have to worry about being indoors or crowded. I'm a mask wearing old woman even on my hikes bent on avoiding the big C. There was plenty of room between patrons and good ventilation - waylaying my worries. I'm so happy that I no longer have to go to the city or down 101 to find good food and entertainment. I'm planning on being a regular and checking out their other musical offerings. read more

I came here for Mother's day brunch. The food was flavorful even though it was a very small menu. The reason for the three stars is because the price they charged for the amount of food they give did not add up. For example, the scallops entrée came with only three scallops and a couple of spoonful of polenta for $36, NOT worth it. Alcohol drinks were good but all you tasted was the sugar NOT the alcohol. The service was ok but, we felt rushed the minute we sat down and it wasn't even crowded. They kept interrupting our conversation every 5 -10 minutes asking us if we needed anything else. Finally, we ordered some dessert and they gave us the check at the same time. NOT a good look. That is one of my biggest pep peeve knowing that you haven't even started eating your dessert and they place the check on the table. All in all is just another three star restaurant with some improvements to work on. read more
