Amazing healthy fresh spot on Burl Ave. Loved the Healer salad, it was packed full Of fresh veggies, delicious chicken, and lots of great toppings. The potatoes were tender and flavorful. The miso salmon bowl was delicious and nicely prepared. There are so many different and delicious items, we'll be back to try them all. The service was outstanding and the staff is super helpful.
Full team was in town and had breakfasts, lunches, and happy hours booked back to back for a few days. We had one night without anything booked for a lowkey evening. Ended up at Urban Kitchen after Top Golf happy hour golf and bites for something healthier . You order at the counter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's not a huge place but they were able to accommodate our group of 9.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had the salmon miso bowl and we also ordered Brussels sprouts to share. It was fresh and hit the spot.

The salmon tasted freshly made to order, while the beef, although slightly cold, still tasted like high-quality meat. The vegetables accompanying the dishes were exceptionally fresh! The crisp crunch of the lettuce was especially surprising in the best way. I'M SAYING - how can lettuce taste this good? This meal felt clean, nourishing, and genuinely reinvigorating to eat. The variation of colors of the meal, made me have a big appetite. I loved every bite of it!
I really wanted to give this a five star rating, I tried really hard, but I'm pushing it to give them a solid four stars tonight. Staff was great, friendly and efficient. The guy at the register didn't know what type of steak is in the steak dish (it's skirt steak). To me, knowing your menu is a basic 101 question at work. I debated between the steak dish and the barbecue blackened chicken and I ended up choosing the chicken. I envisioned a piece of chicken ... a whole piece of chicken. It advertises as gluten free so I didn't ask for it to be made gluten-free. Unfortunately, they put a piece of bread on top of my food without asking me. They did deliver it to my table, at which point I let them know that I had ordered the sweet potato fries and I was allergic to wheat. They did not remake the dish, they simply took the piece of bread off, and gave me some fresh sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, that really messed up the temperature of the food. By the time they brought it back, my chicken was cold, lukewarm at best, yet my sweet potato fries were piping hot and very good! It was unfortunately a mediocre experience. I'm giving extra credit for the guy who came up to answer the " what kind of steak is on the steak dish" question. He was helpful and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is 3.5 / 5 clean. The bathroom could really use attention. It needs deep cleaning, nothing that's recent[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I don't think I'll be back yet it's a good option for a less expensive meal in the Burlingame area. This is a great, walkable town with lots of options to choose from!

The Healer Bowl with Blackened Chicken is my favorite, with generous portions and the perfect blend of ingredients. Great value. Very nice staff! While walking down Burlingame Ave, I was craving a healthy-ish meal for dinner. After a quick Yelp search, I found Urban Kitchen. I went with their Sustainable Grilled Salmon entree, and subbed the Urban Salad for their Greek Salad. My gosh, the meal was so delicious! The lemon oregano dressing paired perfectly on top of the crispy-edged piece of salmon. I was genuinely sad when I finished the salmon - it was that good. The super grains looked like a brown rice and quinoa mix, which was savory and chewy. The greek salad came with plenty of kalamata olives, crispy garbanzo beans, and creamy feta. I'll definitely be back for a healthy & flavorful meal.

We ordered... Beet and Citrus salad with avocado and steak add ons, light balsamic dressing with beets and citrus slices. Steak a bit over cooked with half avocado added on. Refreshing and delicious combination of sweet and savory flavors Blackened Chicken healer bowl. Hefty portion of chicken, hummus, veggies, brown rice and quinoa. Fresh and satisfying. Big meal! Crispy Chicken & Waffle was a bit disappointing. Nice waffle with spicy syrup. Chicken was stiff and dry. Not recommended Charred Brussels Sprouts was excellent charred flavor with balsamic and cheese dressing. Very nice Sweet Potato fries crispy with soft and tender insides the same time. Not greasy All in all a great meal especially if you want a healthy meal
I was not the biggest fan but I also came for their brand-new brunch menu which may not have all the kinks ironed out yet so I may come back some other time and try their normal menu for lunch or dinner. We ordered the chicken & waffle, steak & eggs, as well as a salmon eggs benedict. I found all of these to be just OK, except for the chicken in the chicken & waffle which was actively unenjoyable due to being way over-breaded and also being mostly bread and not chicken. The breading also had some weird mochi-like/chewy texture which was not pleasant, so I'd say this was the weakest item we ordered. The hot honey syrup it came with went great with the waffle though. I also enjoyed the sweet potato fries, which though very unevenly seasoned appeared to be air-fried due to the lack of oil and were super crispy and tasty when I did get a piece that was salted properly.

I had the Healer Bowl and added steak, and it was absolutely delicious! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the steak was tender and flavorful, and everything came together perfectly. I also ordered the chimichurri steak sandwich, which was just as amazing. To top it all off, I treated myself to the Nutella cheesecake, and it was the perfect dessert. Everything I ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. If you're looking for healthy food without sacrificing taste, Urban Kitchen is definitely worth a visit. Ate here for brunch and it did not disappoint. Ordered the Sunnyside Primerib Burger and it was excellent. Order it with extra garlic mayo it makes it that much better. The burger was very fresh and not greasy at all - the cucumbers made it taste light and the bun was fantastic. read more
Great option if you want casual and healthy. Went on a Saturday afternoon, and there were plenty of seats. Salmon miso bowl - loved the sweet potatoes and salmon. The miso was good, but I'd recommend only pouring about half. Otherwise, your greens might drown in the sauce. Chicken katsu - I thought it had a great crisp! Service seemed friendly. You order at a register and they call your order to pick up once it's ready. read more

Casual, order at the counter place serving a variety of grain bowls, salads, and sandwiches. I've been twice, and the food is decent but nothing that's made me crave returning. At our most recent visit, we got the steakhouse sandwich (grilled grass fed steak, arugula, pickled red onion, tomato, cheddar, caramelized onion jam, garlic aioli) and mission katsu sando (katsu chicken cutlet, ciabatta bread, pickled red onion, romaine, cilantro, black beans, cheddar, avocado, cumin lime crema). Flavor-wise, the steakhouse sandwich was good. The onion jam and garlic aioli were , but unfortunately the pieces of steak were unpleasantly chewy. If you took a bite with steak, you'd end up with the whole chunk in your mouth because it was difficult to bite off just a piece. And I personally thought the combo of chicken katsu and beans was weird so I wasn't a fan of that sandwich. Ciabatta was solid though. I can't remember what I got the first time I visited, but I remember thinking it was just okay then as well. read more
We ventured to Burlingame to meet up with my wife & mother-in-law for a late lunch on a beautiful early August. Urban Kitchen is a bright, trendy, healthy place with counter service and amble seating inside and patio with several tables with umbrellas. I ordered the shushuka with bright crushed tomatoes, onions and egg dish. I have had many before and this was very. Very good! All our lunch selections were very fresh, colorful and very tasty! The staff was very friendly and attentive! Definitely will be back when desiring a quick, fresh, lunch offering in the future. read more
This was my first time I've been to urban kitchen and I got the kale Caesar salad and added steak as an add-on. It was a good Caesar salad - the croutons weren't soggy and it had the perfect amount of dressing/cheese on it. My only issue was the steak because some parts were a little tough and it also didn't have much flavor. Also it would be great if the bread on the side was toasted a little. But other than that, I enjoyed my meal! I like how the restaurant is self serve and is the perfect spot for a casual lunch date. read more
The chicken and waffles were very good! The waffle was very well made and the chicken was fresh and well fried! My girlfriend got the steak and eggs and the steak was so tender and juicy! They made the eggs perfect as well and it came with really good potatoes! The matcha tasted good and earthy as well! They were very nice by giving a dessert for the holidays as well! Urban Kitchen's healthy twist theme resonates with me. We tried their Chimichurri steak $23, Nashville spicy chicken sandwich $19 and prawn kebab $11 with an iced tea $4 and Stella beer $7. All the food were prepared correctly and in a timely matter. The Chimichurri sauce made the steak even more enjoyable. It was this garlicky, green, parsley, olive oil and vinegar sauce. The Nashville spicy chicken sandwich wasn't spicy at all. It was crispy with a juicy center breast. The best part was little french fries with the buttermilk ranch sauce. The grilled shrimps were OK. Service was excellent for an order at the counter and get a number, then they deliver to your table, style of restaurant. The only minor nit is they served Stella Artois beer with a chilled glass instead of the official Stella Artois chalice. read more

Came by for lunch and it was really good! There's plenty of seating, very good food choices that fits everyone's preferences and it was tasty. We were iffy about the salmon because some places overcook the salmon but it was just right. The miso salmon bowl was recommended by the staff and it was really good. My fav is the miso sauce. The chimichurri steak was pretty good as well. Wasn't too overdone but it had a spice flavor that's different than urban plates that I'm used to. The potatoes were delicious though! Perfectly done. The staff also made sure to check on each table during the meal as well. Definitely coming back here. read more

Not too busy when I went on a weeknight. Ordered the chimi churri steak, which came with a salad, potatoes, and a slice of bread. The steak was a little tough, but the chimi churri helped with the flavor. The salad was solid and the potatoes were alright, though crispier potatoes would've been more enjoyable. The waitstaff was friendly and the space was nice and open! Parking could be a bit hard to find during peak times since it is in downtown Burlingame. read more

Clean interior with vibes of a fast food true food kitchen or Mendocino farms Steak fajita bowl (3/5): Comes with complimentary bread. The cumin lime cream was tasty, but the overall bowl was a a bit average. Steak was a bit chewy. I prefer Sweet green bowls. Steakhouse sandwich (5/5): I was surprised by how good this sandwich was! The garlic aioli gave a nice creamy texture and the steak was delicious. Not sure it was tastier than the steak in the bowl, but a very solid sandwich. Would order again. read more
I went here for the first time and it was great! I got the ribeye burger and my friend got the steak! The burger was very yummy but it was kind of pricey! The service also took about 20 minutes but theres plenty of seating. The place was nice itself and the theres mote seating outside as well. read more
