For some reason I was in the mood for crepes this morning and I looked to see what the offerings were and Crepevine stuck out because I've never been to one and have never seen such an eclectic selection of crepes. So, coming here, first off, ALL the people who work here are wonderful. Very kind, professional, helpful and they act like they want to be here. I was helped quite a bit by Yesenia, and she was amazing, took great care of me! So kudos to management for what seems to be that, in turn, they take good care of their staff. It was a fairly long line to order and, at first, I sorta wished they had table service instead -- but it ended up moving fairly quickly and was very easy to order. They give you a number and you choose your own table, either inside or outside. On a Saturday morning, although it was busy, there were plenty of tables. My coffee came right away and it is good coffee. And I was told its Crepevine's own branded coffee, organic blend. My Thai crepe came not too long after. It usually comes with both peanut sauce and pesto. But I don't like pesto (and what does that have to do with Thai anyway?) so I asked for it to be prepared with just the peanut sauce. Unfortunately, that got lost and what I was served came with no sauces at all in the crepe. They were happy to take it back and have it re-done and it came out and a short time later with the peanut sauce inside ... and was nice and hot -- and delicious! The side salad that comes with the crepe usually has balsamic vinaigrette but I noticed that one of the menu items is a Thai Salad so, in keeping with the theme, I asked if they could put the dressing for that salad on my side salad and they said no problem, and it was very good -- a lemongrass dressing. The home potatoes were decent although I like mine well done with crispy edges, which these weren't, so I'd probably ask for that next time. And, btw, the value for the money is really good -- they give you A LOT of food! I actually couldn't finish everything on the plate. That all said, I don't think I'll come here on a regular basis, don't live nearby, but I'll definitely come back again, maybe when I have a guest in town -- it was a good meal at a good price and with excellent service and atmosphere, and the few minor problems I had were solved very quickly and efficiently, so 5 stars well deserved. read more

I went on a brunch date which was super pleasant! You'll order at the counter and have a choice to pick your table. They're super dog friendly offering indoor and outdoor seating. Haven't been to Crepevine in a while so we decided to come for Memorial Day brunch. We ordered 1 buttermilk pancake, the Milano crepe, and the New Orleans benedict. Buttermilk pancake and Milano crepe were fine - both were relatively sizable and tasty. New Orleans benedict was a huge miss. I'm not sure how long my plate was sitting out before it was served, but the English muffin was soggy, the egg was very overcooked/not runny at all, and the hollandaise sauce had developed a noticeable skin. The entire dish was lukewarm at best. Our food came out quickly, so it's obvious Crepevine pre-makes everything and nothing is fresh. As we were leaving, we saw a plate in the kitchen with a giant stack of pre-made crepes on it. Lastly, service was a HUGE disappointment. When we were at the cash register placing our order, the employee NEVER looked at us. Instead, she kept looking around and was very distracted, which is probably why she asked us to repeat ourselves 3 times. Then, in the MIDDLE of our ordering, she turned and started talking to a woman behind us in line. They literally proceeded to have an entire conversation while we were standing there, holding menus in our hand, waiting to finish placing our order. We should have walked out right there. After we sat down, no one ever brought us water. Our food arrived and we still didn't have water, so we had to flag someone down. That person didn't bring anything, so we had to ask another person. I've been here a few times over the years, but not in a long time. We were wandering up and down Burlingame Ave. looking at menus, and decided to give Crepevine a try. ORDERING: This is an order-at-the-counter type of place. They give you a number that you put on your table, and they bring your food out to you. There are food runners and bussers who are able to answer questions and help bring things you forgot or need more of. They are often quite busy, which usually means quick turnaround for food, but also means things can be forgotten. FOOD: This place has such a crazy eclectic menu, which is part of the reason we decided to stop. They have a ton of delicious breakfast options, including but not limited to: omelettes, benedicts, scrambles, pancakes, french toast, and various egg dishes that are all served with home potatoes and toast. Their home potatoes are VERY flavorful, and taste like they have rosemary and other seasonings in them. They have a bunch of crepe options, including both sweet and savory. The savory ones have variations of veggies, proteins, cheeses, and sauces. The sweet ones have fruits, chocolate and caramel sauces, and they even have a s'mores one! Other non-breakfast items include salads, sandwiches, burgers, fish tacos, pasta, and soups! No matter what time you go, there are plenty of options for everyone! There's also a kid's menu, which includes items such as mini pancakes, mini burgers, chicken tenders, grilled cheese, mac & cheese, and spaghetti. This trip we split the Chicken Shawerma, which was served in a lavash wrap with creamy garlic sauce and pickles. It came with both a caesar salad and house potatoes, which we ordered extra crispy. It was flavorful and filling enough for us to share. We also tried the Soup Du Jour, which was a black bean soup. It came with salsa, sour cream, and a slide of toasted baguette. It was solid, not spectacular. We got an extra side of the garlic sauce for the wrap, and split an iced tea which was fresh and refreshing. DRINKS: They have a surprising amount of drink options! Some of the top offerings include: organic coffee, as well as most standard cafe drinks (latte, mocha, espresso, etc.), chai, hot chocolate, fresh orange or carrot juice, soda, (not fresh) cranberry and apple juice, Italian sodas, lemonade, iced tea, and hot apple cider. For the 21+ crowd, they have Mimosas, Bloody Marys, and Screw Drivers! OVERALL: This is a great spot to come if you're looking for some delicious food, and lots of choices. Great to accommodate everyone, and easy for groups who aren't all paying together since you order at a counter. Came here for an early Thanksgiving dinner with my other sister and her fam since they'll be out of town and the place didn't disappoint. It is an order and seat yourself type of place and it was packed on a Friday night. But the waitresses were amazing and super helpful. I got the Big Sur sammich and it was soooo good. And sooo much. I only ate half and took the rest home to save for lunch the next day. The fries were nice and crisp and I love them! My family all enjoyed their food too as they didn't take much home after. This place was crowded in the middle of the week, which is a testament of its success. The place busy but I was able to get a table right way. I ordered the Santa Fe Crepe and black coffee. Oh, what a combination. The Santa Fe was fantastic and was heaped with sausage. The potatoes and green salad were excellent complements to all that wonderful meat. Since moving out of state, I have missed Crepevine. Anytime I come to town to visit my family, I always come back to Crepevine. Last weekend I came on a lunch date with my toddler. They are so sweet and funny with kids. They give the kids Wiki Sticks (which my toddler tried to eat lol) and after I showed her how to use them she was so happy. She ate pretty much all of my fries and was the happiest girl in the world. My favorites are the Cardinal sandwich with brie cheese and the Crepevine Club. You can easily share the Crepevine Club with another person and be plenty full. The Burlingame crepe is definitely my favorite crepe. I'll be back the next time we're in town to visit! My fiancé and I visited Crepevine last Wednesday, and wow... it truly felt like coming home. I unfortunately did not catch her name, but she was so kind and caring toward my fiancé and I while we dined there, especially since I'm expecting as well. The runners and hosts were also wonderful. You can truly tell they have a great team dynamic. Now for the food... one Bay Area term: SCHMACK. Man, did I miss having such a variety of food items made to absolute deliciousness. I ordered the Palermo, hot chocolate, orange juice, and the Siena sweet crepe with no strawberries. My fiancé had the omelette and the French toast order. I would say overall this Crepevine location in downtown Burlingame is closer to 3.5 stars. I am not a stranger to the Crepevine franchise as they have many several locations throughout the Bay Area. I like this location because it's close to so many other shops, restaurants, bakeries, and cafes. As with their other locations, you first stand in line to place your order with a cashier. The line can be long during their busy periods especially during the weekends. Once you place your order, someone will typically show you to a table. it is open seating but the space is decently large to accommodate parties of all sizes. They also have both covered patio seating as well as seating in a parklet. This is definitely one of the larger restaurants in downtown Burlingame. I typically order a savory crepe, lately I have been liking their Sante Fe with chicken apple sausage. I also lke their fresh squeezed orange juice. Their portions are large and I almost always take some to go with me because I simply cannot finish one plate by myself. Service is usually efficient and friendly. read more

I'm not new to the Crepevine franchise but I will have to admit that this downtown Burlingame location is likely my favorite location in the Bay Area. First off, they're conveniently located to many other restaurants, shops and cafes and this area is so walk-able and easy to spend some leisure time roaming the eclectic group of various shops nearby. Ordering is the same as with any other location, stand in line, place your order with a cashier, get a number, likely get shown to an open seat, and wait. They do have an outdoor parklet as well as a covered patio. They can handle large parties as well. The menu is diverse and rich with options. Although I tend to stick to the same 2 dishes, I have ample room in the future to explore many other menu options. Service here has been efficient with no complaints. It was tasteless oatmeal mush! I spoke with several of the staff regarding this misleading food item description and they just argued with me that they were in fact Swedish pancakes. I even showed them pictures of actual Swedish pancakes on my phone but they refused to acknowledge the difference. It was futile. I really hope that the restaurant changes their very misleading description for this food item. The staff didn't even offer to change my order to something else even considering that I was at a table with a party of 10 people so the staff earned tips. It was a disappointment. I'm a big fan of ordering at the front and finding a seat so I don't have to split the bill with my friends. The pasta is the best (palermo, bari, abruzzo) and so is the sf crepe and the new orleans benedict (crab cakes!), but most of the time I come here for the girl dinner: small caesar salad and a side of fries. I come here every so often for a filling meal, usually for brunch but I went for dinner today and ended up full and satisfied. The portions are American diner portions, filling the plate. Definitely still finished it though; ordered the Asian salad with chicken and a mango mimosa, then the Burlingame sweet crepe. Crepe had a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, so yummy. Worth it for the portions. Service was quick and transactional but the workers are nice. It wasn't crowded because it was right before dinner, but then got crowded for dinner (Tuesday night for reference). I remember it always being packed for brunch, especially on the weekends.
