My fiancée turned me on to Brody's several years ago, as she's been a long time regular going back to Nick's. It's always been a wonderful restaurant with lovely clientele and it continues to be our favorite stop - now branded as Brody's. It's still the same high quality food, drinks, and service. Last night she hosted her daughter's graduation dinner on the patio and we could not have been more pleased. Orlando and his team worked magic to make the evening special for everyone. The food is so good you will definitely take home any leftovers! The drinks are on point and the service is absolutely beyond amazing!!! You will not find a better Italian restaurant in town. I read the most recent reviews and thought Justin was the manager of a place I wanted to go. We were greeted and led to a table upon arrival. Got our drinks and bread very quickly. Ordered , had time to drink a great glass of Oregon Pinot before our meals were delivered. He has spaghetti and meatballs and it was very flavorful. The meatballs were cooked perfectly. I had the salmon piccata and the sauce was great. I'm taking one star away for cold bread and my salmon was a little over cooked. While I am a great fan of undercooked salmon my spouse agreed it was over cooked. If we come back to Phoenix will definitely be back! read more

This is handmade, fresh, delicious food. The staff is always friendly, the food is always perfectly prepared, and seasoned. I can't say enough about this place... You need to get here. And if you can't, then get it delivered! :) I ordered the calzone with ricotta, mozzarella, and sausage. The chicken tortellini, and capellini primavera in pink sauce. I ordered the "special" the only beef on the menu, a "Prime" New York Strip with linguini and mushrooms. Something I make at home quite often, deliciously no less. Steak isn't necessarily hard to cook, but I understand everyone likes it a certain way. Chewy "Prime" New York Strip and a lack of juiciness is a symptom of letting the steak sit under a heat lamp, gross. Which is exactly what my $58 "Prime" New York Strip tasted like, which compounds and reflects on the service levels. I wanted to love this place because of its proximity to my house and where I regularly go out to eat. Unfortunately, given the prices of competition, this place needs to re-adjust their hefty price ego. This place is far below average food for serious amounts of money. Go elsewhere. read more

I have been dining at Nick's now called Brody's for years and years! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The service is outstanding. We always love to come visit our favorite server JJ, she is top-notch and is so kind and knowledgeable. A restaurant is very cozy and they have a really cute outside patio. We love to sit at the bar when it is just the two of us however we find ourselves often dining in with our family as they love it too! The pastas are fantastic, the chicken and fish are also outstanding. They even have handmade pizzas, which are the bomb. If you're looking for a neighborhood restaurant and somewhere you feel welcomed I definitely would recommend stopping in. You can't go wrong. read more

Fantastic. I didn't even get a photo of my Alfredo because I just wanted to eat it! Everything was so fresh and the service was really good. Although there were small children there I think this place would be great for a date night. I believe they have wine bottle specials. Really great food! We would go back! Nice ambiance, wonderful menu, lots of choices whether it be pasta, chicken, beef or fish and excellent service. Not a giant restaurant but great control what comes out of their kitchen. I mentioned not a large restaurant because the noice level wasn't over the top. good News, bad news! Our food was good, our waiter attentive but the overall cost was ridiculous! We were charged $20 for a sangria which was far from exceptional and then a mandatory 20% gratuity for a party of 6. We have been customers of Nick's (the former owner) for years but will not be back to Brody's. Our bill for the 6 of us with no dessert, only 4 drinks and one salad was over $350!! We wanted to impress friends with a special dinner, so we made our go-to decision. We brought home food from Brody's! We chose the Italian chopped salad, sauteed vegetables, chicken piccata, and lasagna. They send home plenty of yummy bread. We have not been back since it was Nicks pre C19. Nicks felt very NYC Italian not very AZ. However, we decided to give Jason Brody's newly renovated a Valentine's try. It was exactly what we wanted. We tried Veal Piccata, Chicken Parm, Caesar's and chocolate cake. It was all excellent. The service was well attended and Jason the owner did a quick check in. One small suggestion would be to nuke the bread 20 seconds pre serving. We received it cold like out of a refrigerator. Small detail but it would increase the comfort since its first out and into the mouth. Great wine and bar selections. We will be back. read more

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the other poor reviews. Since Nick's became Brody's, the quality of food has been poor at best. Initially, one time, after changing to Brody's, we had a great experience, but since then we have been disappointed with food and service. Both of the chicken dishes in our party were like rubber; we could barely cut through and chew it. The steak was overpriced and terrible and the salad was soaked in vinegar. The fish was subpar and expensive. In fact, not one person in our party finished their plates. Our server was at least very friendly so we were incredibly polite with our server, but the manager was shockingly rude and unwilling to provide any good customer service. We dine at both upscale and inexpensive restaurants and rarely find ourselves unhappy with food and shocked by poor customer service. Also, the ambiance doesn't reflect the high prices on the menu. read more

We used to always go to Nick's on Tatum and Shea and we went last night as it's been rebranded to BRODY'S ITALIAN and it hasn't missed a beat! Place was packed, food was amazing, and they have huge bar and a great wine list! Jason the bartender brought the restaurant from Nick a few years ago and has recently rebranded it! Haven't been to Nick's in years, personal reasons. Always a great place and experience- good food, fair prices, great service etc . For many years our "go to" place! Went back to an eye opener when we learned Nick sold this location. Menu shock! Prices way out of line compared to other similar Italian restaurants. $11 for garlic bread appetizer? $12 for garden salad. Very few dishes under $20. Food is good, portions fair but prices much higher for same quality & quantity as competition. Mr Brody, please review your prices - since your portions are generous perhaps you can scale back a bit on quantity and prices, without giving up quality. read more

This is an excellent casual Italian restaurant. Their weekly specials are delicious. The chicken dishes with marsala sauce taste homemade. Their chicken alfredo is my son's favorite. My favorite dish is angel hair pasta with marinara sauce. They make the best pizza with a lot of varieties. (shout out to Norm), brought back high quality beef and seafood with delicious homemade pasta and risotto at an affordable price. My husband Tom and I frequent this great homelike Italian restaurant dine in or take out. Tonight I had the Halibut with a yummy butter lemon caper sauce and angel hair pasta and my husband had the chicken marsala which is always a crowd pleaser.They give extra sauce so you can have your leftovers with the delectable sauce the next day. We ordered the Garden Salad and Baked Ziti with Sausage and they split both plates for us without asking which was a nice gesture from our very perceptive and friendly Server. Our Friends ordered the Angel Hair Pasta with House Marinara and Chicken Piccata and Pasta. We each shared a bite of our meals and they were all delicious. The restaurant is located in a strip mall but once you enter it boasts a quiet and slightly upscale atmosphere to enjoy a meal. this is my birthday restaurant because they have gnocchi in a gorgonzola sauce. unfortunately, my most recent trip was not as good as in the past. the gnocchi was dough-y and not those little pockets of soft potato perfection that i've had there before. when i only indulge in gnocchi once per year, it ought to be one of the best i've ever eaten. this year, it was difficult to stab my fork in the little guys. the sauce though - it just can't be beat. the fried mozzarella for an appetizer was good, and the tiramisu for dessert was perfection. service was good for an early sunday dinner (or, as my husband would say, old people dinner time). i'll be back, but if they do that again with my gnocchi, i'll just order dessert and forego the meal. read more
