We came here to the golf range Saturday afternoon and ended up staying for dinner as well. This place is awesome! You could come here for date night alone without the golf. Great views and service. The pizza was the star of the show. I didn't get a picture but my husband ordered the whiskey cocktail and it came with golf iceballs inside!

Rossa Kitchen and Patio is an Italian style restaurant at McDowell Mountain Golf Club. Currently, the course is being reseeded, so it's closed until October 10th... but Rossa is still open! Hours are a bit shortened, kitchen opens at 1030 during the reseed. It's the perfect time to visit! I'm sitting on the patio enjoying a pizza and cocktails. I have the course and city views to myself along with the birds chirping, wind rustling the trees. I ordered the Not Your Grandma's pizza and it was a great combo of sweet and savory: spiced orange marmalade, crispy shallot, smoked bacon, burrata, and roasted pistachio. I'm a whiskey girl who has always loved a Lynchburg lemonade, so I really enjoy their version and bonus points for the name. The Dutton is a light mix of bourbon, lemonade, passion fruit, and cub soda. Not too sweet, but refreshing on a still 100° Arizona "fall" day.

We booked the private venue at Rossa Kitchen for a graduation party & could not recommend it more! Easy to book & great to work with as they tailored a menu to meet our specific needs. We had over 150 guests & received wonderful feedback from them on our party, which had a really nice indoor/outdoor flow, highly recommend!

Beautiful scenery. As far as food- Brussels sprouts were good and pizza was good. Nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about. A happy hour sitting outside with the view would be ideal.

Once again, Amazing patio lunch. Warmed by the outdoor fireplace enjoyed an Italian Grinder with amazing fry's. Our server Jeena was very attentive and sweet. I'm always amazed by food and service.

    New menu from Chef Randy!

The new Chef Randy has an updated menu and an amazing upgrade from the previous owners. The wings are amazing as well as the Filet Mignon and potatoes. Try the lemonchello drink and sauce with the wings. Simply amazing. Reminds me of Kansas City wings from Jack Stack BBQ.

Great views, casual dining, a menu with ample choices, definitely a neighborhood gem.

The new pizza menu at Rossa Kitchen

Wow, we love Rossa Kitchen! It's the new restaurant at McDowell Mountain Golf Club. We finally have a good place to eat in our neighborhood by the golf course. Rossa has a new $30k Neopolitan gas and wood fired pizza oven, the thing is a beauty and makes killer pizza! I went to check out the new oven and ended up chatting with Randy, the new Chef who started there late last year. He knows a lot about Italian cuisine and cooking equipment! He was friendly and happy to show me his new pizza oven that has foot thick walls to maintain a steady temp of 800 degrees for tasty pizza. Randy makes his pizzas with semolina flour and they are good! He crafted some cool original pizza recipes. We ordered the Tito Cracked Pepper Pizza with Prosciutto. It was a treat and we can't wait to try the others. Also, our waiter Cameron was on it and the staff we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. We are glad the golf club upgraded their restaurant and launched this new menu. Rossa was busy when we were there, so obviously they are getting popular now, as they should. Good job to Randy, Cameron and the rest of the team, Rossa is our new favorite local restaurant!

What looks like free parking in the self-parking area actually isn't. There's a sign that says you have to pay for parking with a QR code. Parking is only free for 30 minutes. I called the hotel to inquire about parking and they didn't answer. After walking to the front desk, we were told that valet is validated at the speakeasy. I'm not a fan of valet, but I'll take free valet service (minus the tip) over paying more for self parking. Now, let's get to the good stuff. As the self-appointed king of speakeasies, I'm back with another one. Ambiance: (4.5/5): I won't give all of the clues away, but walk to the third floor, look for a book shelf, and you're on the right track. Once you get inside, you'll find an intimate speakeasy. We're talking seating for 12 or so people or so, tops. I imagine getting a seat on a weekend is quite tough, so take that into account and make a reservation. When you do, you'll find out that there's a $25 cancellation fee per person if you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation. I understand that no shows negatively impact restaurants/bars, but I absolutely hate when the cost of doing business is passed off on customers. I'm reliable, but if I'm going with someone else, and they cancel, now I'm in a tough spot. Anyways, I loved the ambiance at The Madam. Think dark wood, sophistication, and some cowboy vibes. The seating was comfortable, too. Service (4.5/5): Minus the parking snafu, our bartender did an absolute awesome job taking care of us. She was friendly and attentive throughout. They were perfecting a new drink menu and even offered us two drinks on the house. Which was much appreciated! We were lucky, for sure. Food (N/A): While they do have food, I was on a liquid diet on this visit. Drinks (4/5): When I go to a speakeasy, I'm looking for creativity. You'll find that here for the most part, though I wish the list of craft cocktails was a little larger. There were only two or so cocktails that struck my fancy. I went with the one with green chartreuse, which is always a treat. But, when I'm at a speakeasy, I'm hoping that at least half of the selection intrigues me. Despite the limited selection, the cocktails are well made and have an interesting blend of flavors. The Madam is a true speakeasy (no signage and an ambiance which is true to the history of speakeasies), which makes them a winner in my book.

The portion is also a great size for two people to share, especially since it's definitely a rich dish. Tucked away behind a curtain, this little speakeasy-style spot feels like you've discovered a secret Scottsdale hideaway. The atmosphere is dark, intimate, chill, and just the right amount of sexy. Definitely giving late-night cocktails and good music energy. The music was actually one of my favorite parts. It created this effortlessly cool backdrop without being overwhelming, so we could relax, sip our drinks, and enjoy the vibe. It felt sophisticated but still very laid-back -- exactly what I want from a post-dinner cocktail spot. We started with the Porn Star Martini and the Mocha Martini, along with a couple glasses of champagne because obviously we had to keep the celebration going. And yes... we loved them enough that we ordered another round of both martinis LOL. The Porn Star Martini was fruity, playful, and perfectly balanced, while the Mocha Martini was rich, smooth, and dessert-like without feeling overly heavy. Both were SO delicious and beautifully crafted. Our waitress was also incredibly sweet and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. I always appreciate when the service matches the atmosphere, and she definitely added to the warm, welcoming feel of the night. And then came the snacks! They brought us truffle potato chips, truffle popcorn, and some delicious nuts to enjoy with our drinks. Everything was so good that we actually got a second refill because apparently we were not ready to share with the table next to us. The truffle flavor throughout the snacks was such a luxe little touch and paired perfectly with our cocktails. Overall, Bar Bambino is such a cool, sexy, intimate little escape. I loved the hidden entrance, the moody atmosphere, the music, the cocktails, and the little elevated snack situation. It's the kind of place that feels like a secret you want to keep to yourself... but also absolutely want to tell everyone about.
