Pho Bowl is one of the best hidden gems in Kansas City to enjoy a delicious bowl of pho. This spot uses fresh ingredients to make their bowls, soups, noodles, and more. The shrimp spring rolls taste perfect with the thick and creamy homemade peanut sauce. One of my favorite options to order at Pho Bowl is the curry noodle bowl because of the unique flavors and spices used in this dish. The egg rolls will have you craving to return! All of these items are delicious, but you cannot go wrong with a classic bowl of pho - combo style. Add Pho Bowl to your Kansas City bucket list today! Great service, clean environment and the food came out super quick! Beware of the massive potholes when pulling into the restaurant.

One of my favorite dishes is Pho and the broth at Pho Bowl does not disappoint! The staff are friendly and the owner is fun to chat with, I find myself here a couple times a month. You won't find a large menu here, but what they offer is delicious!

Really delicious bun bo hue, really clean flavor pork but with some spice and yummy broth. As you can probably see there is a good portion of meat and noodles in a large, full bowl. Da chanh was a perfect pair with the hot soup. Service was easygoing and the owner was very nice to chat with! I have several other dishes I'd like to try here now.

This might be my new favorite neighborhood spot! I have driven past this restaurant many times, and decided I should stop by and give it a try. Boy was I pleased with my decision. Located on the outskirts of the Historic Northeast, Pho Bowl is a charming eatery with a nice sized menu selection. I was greeted by multiple restaurant staff as soon as I hit the door. Because I was on a schedule, I decided to take my food to go. I decided on B.1 (beef, noodles and friend onions), spring rolls and crab rangoon. I throughly enjoyed each meal item! I plan to visit again soon and dine in when I do so! The atmosphere was perfect for a nice quiet lunch on a week day afternoon. Would recommend!

This is the 3rd Vietnamese restaurant in this space in the past few years and I hope they can make it work, but with my experience today, I'm not betting on it. I visited on their first Saturday afternoon after opening earlier in the week. There was 3 tables seated and two staff on the floor while I waited to be acknowledged. There was no signs to seat yourself or wait, so I waited and waited in plain view near the counter and just when I was about to walk out the young man finally acknowledged me and told me to sit anywhere; which could have been done much sooner. After another long wait for no apparent reason I was given a menu and water. I ordered a Café sua da, spring rolls and a steak bahn-mi. They were out of steak, so I settled for ground pork. In about 2 minutes I was delivered a plastic cup with about 8oz's of iced coffee. Not the proper slow drip process that makes the drink my favorite. It appears they poured some coffee out of the large urn and stirred in some evaporated milk. Sad presentation and flavor, especially for $5. My spring rolls were two large wraps with shrimp and pork and priced right at $4 for two. The accompanying bowl of peanut sauce was excellent, yet the wrap was so tough and chewy that parts of it were in-edible, and did I mention that it took 15 minutes before it was served...Sad again... Another 5 mins and my Bahn-mi arrived. Finally something that was quite delicious. For $5 it had plenty of grilled pork, fresh veggies and served on a perfect baguette - crunchy exterior with a soft and flakey interior. Since they have only been open 5 days, I will round up to 3 stars, but some major kinks need to be addressed and solved if they want to compete with several other established Pho shops a few blocks to the west.

This bowl of pho was just what I needed. I love the soup base and the fresh vegetables, as well as the generous size of the shrimp. I will definitely be back.

The place is okay. Food is good too, not great. The Pho broth lacks flavor in my opinion. The pork and chicken bbq's though are good.

We got Vietnamese iced coffees, crab rangoons, spring rolls, and pho. The pho I had was rich in flavor for the broth. You can tell it was boiled for awhile. The noodles were cooked perfectly! Not soggy at all and had a good bite to them. The veggies were nice and crisp too! Crab rangoons, I have no ill words for them. Just a standard rangoon that was well made. Not oily at all. Their peanut sauce that went with the spring rolls was thicker than the places that I am used to. I must say I actually prefer this locations peanut sauce over the ones I have had in my home state. 10/10! Will come again.

The staff was doing the best they could to keep up with the crowd, and everyone was friendly and courteous. The food was good overall. The pho had a good, flavorful broth, and the hủ tiếu mì khô was also well-seasoned with good flavor. They accidentally forgot our sweet potato dish, but with how busy they were, we decided not to wait any longer. The cà phê sữa đá was excellent--the balance of strong coffee and sweet condensed milk was just right. The bánh mì was decent as well. The bread was perfectly toasted and had a nice crust, though I do wish it had a little more meat. Overall, it was a good lunch experience. I think I'd come back after the crowds settle down a bit so we can try more of the menu at a more relaxed pace.

The restaurant was very nice--tastefully decorated with authentic touches that felt intentional and refined. The large canvas artwork added character without overwhelming the space. It struck a perfect balance: elegant but comfortable. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were patient and accommodating, especially with our little one, which always makes a difference when dining out with family. We started with the sampler platter, which included fresh spring rolls, crispy spring rolls, and a variety of other traditional bites. Everything was prepared well--the fresh rolls were vibrant and clean tasting, while the crispy rolls had a satisfying crunch without being greasy. For entrées, my wife ordered the Vietnamese pork chop with the perfectly runny egg over broken rice. The pork was well-seasoned and cooked just right, and that egg brought everything together beautifully. I ordered the Bánh Mì and a bowl of pho. The pho had the perfect level of spice--balanced, aromatic, and comforting. The broth had depth, and you could tell it was crafted with care. The Bánh Mì was equally impressive; the baguette was toasted just right--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside--holding all the flavors together without overpowering them. What truly stands out is that Broken Rice delivers this level of quality without being overly expensive. It's a great value for authentic, well-executed Vietnamese cuisine. And most importantly--our niece enjoyed herself too, which says a lot. I would absolutely recommend Broken Rice to anyone looking for a satisfying, authentic dining experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere

We did enjoy the shrimp, spring rolls, but were slightly disappointed that the peanut sauce was very watery. The menu had a good variety, but most of the dishes involved pork, very few involved chicken. Tofu dishes were also an option. The chicken pad Thai was very tasty; rather than cooking the dish to a persons heat specification, they just provide extra chili powder on the plate if you wanted to make it spicier. The main reason for the low review would be the cleanliness of the restaurant. On the table were a variety of spices and sauces in various containers, but they didn't look like they had been cleaned or changed in several uses, so we did not use or investigate to know exactly what things were.
