They Just deadgazed at me and said "well I have had the sticky toffee" so I was like okay, I'll try that. I also got the chocolate and pistachio scone. Scones are hard... I am picky. It was only okay. My coffee was crap. I didn't even finish it. No flavor, all milk... lukewarm warm. The two star is for the conversation behind the counter after I placed my order As they were making my drink, the one making the drink was like "i had someone ask me what scone was the best, psst, i don't know just pick one" and the other person whom I had placed my order with was like "i know, why do they ask. Just order" First of all. I generally just drink black coffee and when I decide to spend money on a gift, two scone and a coffee that is supposed to be seasonal and yummy, I want something that is just that! Yummy and memorable and not feel like I was an inconvenience to someone who worked there.

We've learned to keep an eye out for an A-frame sign on the sidewalk saying that they're roasting. Talking to the person who personally buys and roasts all the beans, I've come to rely on his suggestions and recommendations. They also have canned cold brew, which I've never tried, but it sounds like a great to-go item if you're passing by while they're open.

Parking was limited, but that's pretty typical for most cafés in Portland, so it wasn't unexpected. The staff at the counter were incredibly friendly and welcoming, answering all of my questions about their coffee selection and making the experience even better. The coffee was perfect, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The shop was clean, inviting, and had a great overall vibe. I had already eaten lunch, so I didn't try any food, but the sandwiches were clearly a customer favorite. I saw several people enjoying them, and they looked fantastic. They also have a bánh mì menu that caught my attention and looks phenomenal, so that's at the top of my list for my next visit.

I recently visited Broken Robot Coffee and was thoroughly impressed with their Mocha Latte and savory breakfast pastries. The Mocha Latte had the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate, creating a rich and indulgent flavor. The pastries were flaky and filled with savory goodness, making for a delightful breakfast treat. This made for a mentally relaxing cafe experience. They have tables for 2 or 4, with a request to reserve the large tables for groups of 3+. They do not have WiFi. The place was not busy while there - the cold brew showed up very quickly, the latte took longer but it was a reasonable time. The bathrooms are shared with other businesses (like a yoga place) and were clean and quiet, also. Overall, it's decent. The quiet atmosphere bumps it from 3 to 4 that the coffee alone might have merited.

Very sweet and fragrant, and not overpowering. The espresso had a nice toasted taste that complimented the drink. The espresso gave me nice energy throughout the day and wasn't too acidic The pastry options are plentiful and all look well made. Their orange olive oil cake looked yummy but I opted for the lemon poppyseed scone as a safe choice. It was solid texture, not too soft and tasted more buttery as I ate it. Was also able to save some of it for later as it was filling. Parking wasn't the best as you have to turn left to residential, but it was easy to get a spot. They update their website on whether or not they have WiFi and they don't currently have it. It was a great drink that I would come again to get but I save my 5 star reviews for extraordinary beverages. I'm excited to try a matcha next time.
