Checked out hunnymilk for their weekend brunch menu, loved the idea of a preset menu, and it was yummy! Tried out the popcorn chicken and gritz and baked eggs for the savory and the graham cracker waffles and french toast for the sweet. Everything tasted good, popcorn chicken was juicy and grits were nicely flavored but the baked eggs were our fave- the gravy on top was just too good! French toast was also up there- but I did wish there was syrup for it. Staff was very friendly and helpful, even with the preset menu, you can still order a la carte too. Shop is cozy and there's an area on the counter by the window with the cream, sugar, and condiments (ketchup, tapatio, etc) which I didn't realize at first.
Popped in for the cheddar bacon donut and holy moley we might go back tomorrow. Cute pop-up inside La Buca, very friendly staff with a nice casual vibe and very serious eats. Our only regret is that we didn't order more.

If you're in the area and want to try a neat brunch experience...come check out Hunnymilk. They have a 3 part menu to try different items under each part. The host at the bar helped explained how it works and promptly got our orders in. The decor as we went to find a table was pretty neat (see the photos). 1st up are drinks and i went with the standard OJ. Next is the main entre and I went with the chicken and waffle. Chicken was breaded perfectly and placed on top of a crispy thick waffle with sweet syrup. And to finish off my experience, i went with the creme brulee pancakes. Fluffy pancakes with strawberry drizzle and blueberries to add to the sweetness of the dish. I would definitely return to try lunch!
Service was friendly and fast, there were 7 of us and they made sure we were all able to sit together. Music was on point, really good jams, wasn't too loud The crème brûlée pancakes lacked the brûlée part, and the inside of the pancakes were fairly dry. I think some syrup would have helped. My biscuits and gravy was good, but for some reason on the sweet side and the biscuit was a bit dry. 5 of the 7 ordered the pork belly and they all loved it. 6 of the 7 ordered the pancakes and agreed they were lacking. The one that ordered the waffles said it was way too overly sweet. One person ordered a Bloody Mary and said it tastes just like tomato puree, and even after mixing it seemed the bottom kept settling. Another person ordered the hot chocolate and said it was good! Not sure I'll be back anytime soon honestly
So glad I came here and tried it! This spot is just over the bridge. It's not hard to find, right on a corner with a sign out front. Above it has à la buca sign. When walking in, we saw a sign explaining the way the restaurant works. You grab a menu and choose something from the sweet and savory portion with your drink for $28.50. The restaurant had a couple people in, it wasn't packed just yet. The server came over, greeted us, and explained to us as well. Once we were done making our selection, we went to the counter to order. I chose the deluxe drinking chocolate, popcorn chicken for my savory, and the poppy seed crepe for the sweet. We also ordered the cheddar bacon donut, baked egg surprise, tres leches French toast, and the graham cracker waffle. He led us to our table, where they have a jug of water and other utensils. We were served our drinks promptly. My deluxe drinking chocolate was so good! They add whipped cream and chocolate chips to it. So yummy! We waited for maybe 15 minutes for all our food to be bought over. I noticed the restaurant was decorated with nature inspired decor such as vines and muted colors on the wall. They had art for sale as well. I also saw that it was mostly men working in the restaurant. Every bite of our food was delicious. Everything has a unique taste and it has a very creative concept. I talked to one of the servers there after I asked if they have multiple locations. I noticed that the location didn't match with the one I saw on social media. He explained that they just moved locations in June/July and were only open weekends while the other restaurant, la buca, was everyday and every night on the weekends. I enjoyed it so much! Such a great place. Would definitely be back if I'm in the area.!
Came for brunch but cutting close to closing and the staffs were all so kind and didn't rush us. I enjoy the concept of a pre fix price and everything coming out at once. The savory dishes were all really good. For the main dishes I like the baked eggs surprise the most. It's a small pop up inside but definitely big enough for a table or 6.
A very cute restaurant with great service. It has a small cafe in the city vibe and feels like a relaxing place. Food is well presented and has amazing variety of flavors. They emphasized a well balanced mix of sweet and savory flavors. However it is bit on the pricier side, so it feels like its more on the treat side of things rather than a regular spot. Menu is small but specialized.
Aside from parking challenges, the food here is yummy!!! This was our second time here. The last time was three years ago. The menu is prefixed, meaning you pay a set price for a drink, a savory and a main. Truthfully, way too much food but yummy enough to want to take the rest home for later! At the advice in the guy taking our order, I selected the waffles for my sweet. And that was the best part today! There was a wait for it but totally worth it! It was so comforting and had just the right amount of sweetness. Other food we ordered... The chicken waffles (a bit spicy but still really good), the Apple Pie crepe (too doughy for me but hubby liked it), and the pork belly grits. All were yummy!!!
TIP: You pick one item from each column: drinks, entree, dessert. And they all are the same price. We got three different things to share with the 3 of us and it was GREAT. There's board games lying around so you can kill time while waiting for your food. Cute and quaint place with no matching plates or cups but it was adorable lol The pork belly was bombbbb and would order that on the side lol all the dishes seemed small but they actually were filling because of the entree/dessert combo. I'd love to come here again next time I'm in town!
Hunny Milk is always such a great experience. I love the rotating menu with creative concoctions. Pick a drink, a savory, and a sweet. The staff is friendly and the seating is comfortable. If they would only serve lattes they could win my last star.
The experience overall was simple and comfortable for the most part. The restaurant had just moved out to its new location about two weeks before we went out on our Anniversary brunching. The space wasn't quite put together aesthetically so I don't have a full opinion of that. The meals were acceptable, but a bit overpriced even though it was a drink + 2 main breakfast dishes prixe-fix. The drinking chocolate was pretty close to just a fancy hot chocolate and some of the chocolate had settled at the bottom dur to the preparation of the beverage. We both had the Egg Surprise, which didn't lie, the eggs were a surprise, there were so many potatoes and toppings over the eggs that it was hard to even find the protein and it was the only option for vegetarians in regard to the savory side of the menu. The waffle I had on the other hand was surprisingly quite tasty, it really brightened up the brunch and was very well made. Definitely made things better. The presentation on the metal lunch trays for the brunch was an odd choice as a note, it made us feel like our meals were just slapped onto it to be served. The food was a 50/50 and the drink left more to be desired. I'm not sure if I would go back here.
A restaurant whose menu is entirely based on donuts? It's like it was made for me. You order a drink, a savory item, and a sweet item for something like $30 which seems very reasonable to me. My husband and I chose: - Grapefruit Juice - Deluxe Drinking Chocolate - "Everything" Beignet Benedict - Monte Cristo-Nut - Sourdough Pancake Donut - Carrot Cake Forever Between everything we got, my favorite items were the Everything Benedict and the Pancake Donut. I really loved everything though and I wanted to try everything on the menu. The only thing I didn't like about this spot was the drinks. I wish they had more non-caffeinated options, but that's a minor complaint. There is no dedicated parking and street parking is paid only.

Amazing sweet and savory combos. Chill atmosphere with a Portland vibe. Even the spinach blew me away. The staff was delightful. Benji helped with recommendations and was so gregarious. Highly recommend but come on an empty stomach! read more
One of my all time favorite brunch spots in portland. All the food came out fairly quick and it tasted amazing. I enjoy getting to try multiple dishes for the price of one which is great. So sad they announced they will be closing soon but being hopeful about the future for the restaurant. read more

I have been wanting to come here for years. Yes years. In my family, we don't really go to brunch or even breakfast too often. You can tell from my yelp reviews, I don't really have a lot of breakfast reviews. But I had this saved as a must try and it is in NE and not far from our place. So this morning when hubs said our pregnant daughter was coming over for breakfast I jumped at the chance to suggest this spot. In case you don't read the rest of my review, I wanted to comment that the service was really great here and I am pretty sure the nice guy in the front was the owner, but I could be wrong. There was another guy working as well when two of us arrived and the rest were parking and he told us which table would be ours but that we should wait and all order together. But he was really great because when he saw the place start to get busy he reminded us of our table in the corner, kinda letting us know so it wouldn't get snatched. So that earned points in book. The menu is brunchy in that it is a prix fix breakfast menu for $28.50 and there are 3 columns with 4-5 choices. Drinks, savory and sweet items. Boozy drinks are about $10-15 extra. There is also drinking chocolate, teas, coffee or juice. (Orange and grapefruit). The girls said the orange juice was really good. But I can't drink citrus and drinking chocolate would've been too heavy for me, so I opted for coffee. This is the only column that I could take or leave. Savory - all of us I think had something different and not one item was bad. I opted for the popcorn chicken and cheesy grits and it came with a poached egg that had a beautiful gooey egg yolk in the middle. The chicken was crispy and cooked to a crispy perfection on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside. The grits were so yummy and creamy as well. *chefs kiss* My hubs ordered the buttermilk biscuits with chorizo gravy and that was also a stellar choice. I had a bite and the biscuits were crisp on the outside and the gravy with the chorizo had such good flavor. Sweet - I had the Tres Leches French toast and once again, it was perfectly crisp on the outside and cooked to perfection on the inside with what I assume was a tres leches condensed milk concoction. It came with some berries and cream drizzled around it was perfect. My hubs had the graham cracker waffles and I am going to say it again, crispy and golden on the outside and cooked perfectly. I didn't eat any of the other items that everyone else ordered, like the baked egg and potatoes or the crepes, so I cannot comment on them, but I did take photos to share. But there are so many photos already I doubt mine offer anything new. I'm not usually a breakfast or brunch person but this was really good. 10/10 delicios on every single item and this place gets 6 stars out of 5. read more

Interesting ambience, lots of plants they didn't have what I came for (eggs Benedict). The menu had changed, so I got something else. The food was delicious but it arrived cold. (Hunny Bunny) Perhaps that's the way that dish is served. No public WiFi read more
A set menu twist on a brunch classic. The venue was pretty spacious and had games in the waiting area. You choose what you want before hand, pay, and get seated. The wait for our food was fairly long. There wasn't that many people dining with us that day, and it felt particularly long for the food to come out. The savory selections were pretty okay. I think everything lacked flavor. Everything just needed some more seasoning in the food and I believe it would've complimented the dishes very well. We hear about the rave; but we don't understand the craze. After feeling pretty disappointed with the savory meals, the sweets came out. It was a load of sugar. Everything was too sweet and dense. We couldn't finish it. It was pretty-looking, just not pretty-tasting. read more
I came here back in July and it was honestly my favorite restaurant of my entire trip. Even though there was a set menu that you had to choose from, all the options looked and sounded very good. I got the tres leches French toast and popcorn chicken and waffles. Everything came out fresh and hot. The French toast was to die for as it was sweet, crunchy, and drenched in syrup. It was truly super good and this plate was enough to fill me up. I had a couple of bites of the popcorn chicken and waffles but could not manage to keep going so I ended packing it to go for another meal. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and just full of flavor. The waffles had just the right amount of crispiness, and although it was dense, I did not mind it at all as it went well with the chicken. It was also still good after reheating it. Overall a very nice place to sit down with family and friends for some brunch. Staff was super nice and made sure I was well taken care of. read more

The restaurant is decorated without holiday flair. Unique artwork and painting adorn the walls. Prix fixe menu with a few available add ons here. See photo of menu. You place your order at the front and sit yourself at an open table. Your coffee, tea, or drink you ordered will be brought to you. Coffee refills are self serve. Excellent coffee and friendly service. Charming interior with a laid back atmosphere. Like if a tree moved into a studio apartment. Food was lackluster. My savory selection was light on the gravy which was thin and had very little meat. The donut left me baffled. Presentation wise it's very exciting but the blueberry glaze+blueberries were too sour. Combined with the also acidic key lime ice cream the whole combination felt abrasive, like biting into a lemon. This place felt more like a spot for couples or small groups. If I was offered a sex worker equivalent of someone to eat breakfast with (breakfast worker?) that might have distracted me from the food but here we are. Very good coffee though. read more
I can't say enough about the food here it is absolutely delicious! You come in and have a seat so you can pick out what you want to order, you select a sweet and a savory item along with a drink and after you have selected they seat you. Today I got the cheesy herb biscuit holes with chorizo gravy for my savory item and is did not disappoint, the gravy was delicious and had a little spice to it, the biscuit holes had a little crunch as you cut into them and it all went together perfectly! Great creative brunch spot. I tried the herb biscuit holes with chorizo gravy and the hunny mcgriddle. Wife had the fried chicken with waffle donut and the tres leches French toast. Everything was delicious but my favorite was the herb biscuit holes and chorizo gravy. You order at the counter and then take a seat, food is delivered to you by food runners from the kitchen. This joint has a different approach that it is uncommon to your normally ordering food on a dining setting. The service is quite unique that will function to you as a new as quite pleasant experience. You would first be told to order one item each out of the menu 1) Classy Drink, 2) Savory Dish, 3) Sweet Item you'll get a number and grab a seat. They do have a coffee/drink section that it is for your own refills as you may need it. The food will come to you and off you go to enjoy the delicious goodness of this cozy place. I'd choose a delicious chai tea with cream, "everything" beignet Benedict and an apple pie churro-nut. The taste of the Benedict it was quite different in a good way. I have not tried hazelnut pesto before and I much admit that it was surprisingly good. The winner for me it was the sweet item, DELICIOUS! May you experience be as joyful as mine was! read more

The pictures of our food speak for themselves. Everything here is super delicious! You can tell they care about ingredients and taste. When you go inside, you will order and pay at the bar before you are seated. The menu is pretty simple. You get to pick one item from each section of it. What a great spot for Father's Day and any day really. We came here based on reviews and proximity to our hotel and walked away totally satisfied. Order at the counter speeds up the decision making which is facilitated by a great menu concepts that pairs a drink of your choose with a savory and a sweet item on the menu for a set price. Add ins are alcohol, bacon or ham. Super straightforward and avoids a lot of confusion. Wait to be seated is pretty standard for crowded days. That happened quickly and by 9am they had a 30 minute wait. It's quick and orderly. They seem to be staffed to make things happen. The food was really special. It's rich and delicious and presented in a way that is fun and unique. We had the beignets and strawberry bars and the hush puppies and carrot cake. Accompanied by coffee. It was all amazing. Decadent flavors and really more than enough food for the price. The beignets with scrambled are something I want to replicate at home. The pesto and the bernaise sauce were a flavor combo to remember. The strawberry shortcake was amazing. The carrot cake was also amazing. Not enough stars for this visit. Service I here is really in its game. Everyone was prompt. Friendly. And accommodating. A little confusion on the "who was next in the line waiting for a table" game but easily resolved. Lots of seating. Groups of six are pretty easily accommodated. A larger group was sitting at some couches which was nice but looked a little awkward. Overall, this is a solid experience that is repeat worthy. read more

Such a cool unique spot for brunch! You order at the counter before sitting down. They have a fix-price menu that comes with with 2 dishes (1 savory and 1 sweet) plus a drink. It's definitely shareable, and I don't think they require every person to get their own. I loved the popcorn chicken and banana-graham holes. Would come back again. read more

I had been to Hunnymilk several years ago (pre pandemic) and I think I liked it better back then. The new menu is all donut based, which was interesting! The wait wasn't too bad for a Saturday morning but the hostess did kind of make it seem like they wanted people to leave quickly to turn over tables. I had the drinking chocolate, apple pie churro nut and popcorn chicken and waffles donuts. The drinking chocolate was disappointing... it was really just hot chocolate that seemed to be made with water. The topping was good but the drink was meh. It was also not very hot and went cold before I finished it. The food was good! I especially enjoyed the chicken and waffles. My fiancé had the cheesy herb and chorizo gravy and said it was way too spicy. It was dusted with cayenne so the whole thing was too hot. The cafe is cute but also kind of tacky decor. The music was also too loud. I think $27 is overpriced for what you get. I expect to pay that for a brunch entree and cocktail anywhere else. read more
I love this place so much!! I've gone twice already and their food is so delicious!! Definitely different that things are self serve for coffee and hot sauce and boxes but I don't mind at all!! I'm going back for a third time to try something different and I love how they switch up their menu every so often! Highly recommend. The decor inside is super cute too! read more
The food is delicious and very well made! Customer service was on point and the space felt very welcoming. You are right on a Main Street downtown so parking is hard but the side streets are nice and shaded. I understand pairing the main dish + the dessert as a combo but requiring a drink choice as well is my only downfall. The options were scarce and I ended up settling with the Peach Tea. I had been eyeballing this spot for quite sometime. I'd read the reviews and seen the photos but never imagined how delicious the food would end up being. The staff were absolutely amazing. As we entered we were immediately greeted and provided a run down of the menu. The prices are relatively reasonable and portion sizes are good. The interior is much larger than you'd imagine given the small entrance and somewhat less revealing building size. Everything was clean and ready for new customers which was lovely. The pictured menu item is what took my breathe away. They call it the tres leches French toast. Will I be going again? Heck ya! Ok wow, was a bit nervous but the food is spectacular, alittle pricey but great quality food, including 2 small meals and a drink for 28.50. Service was good, friendly staffing didnt see them much after we sat down though, good music but barely noticed it its a bit quiet. No bad notes on the food, Loved it all!! read more

Awesome food, fast service, and great entertainment. What isn't there to love at this cozy breakfast and brunch place. I went here because it was within walking distance of my hotel and it fit my needs of wanting something sweet and something savory. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a cozy brunch place that had the classic Nintendo games, board games, and had a projector playing Avatar the Last Airbender at the bar. This place is also cool because it has a prix-fixe menu of a classic drink, a savory brunch dish, and a sweet brunch dish, which is perfect for people like me who can't decide between savory and sweet dishes or want a little of both in their lives. I got the Deluxe Drinking Chocolate, Cheesy Herb Biscuit Holes and Chorizo Gravy, and Apple Pie Churro-Nut. The Deluxe Drinking Chocolate was chocolatey and creamy, but not too much so that it was overly sweet. It was a just right drink that really warmed you up on a chilly day. The Cheesy Herb Biscuit Holes and Chorizo Gravy were a nice savory meal that gave you a home cooked kind of feel with the creamy Chorizo Gravy. The Cheesy Herb Biscuits were shaped like Donut Holes, but we're more on the savory side. They also had a crunchy outer crust on the outside while being soft and moist on the inside, and had hints of Herb and the right amount of Cheesiness throughout that went well with the Chorizo Gravy. The Apple Pie Churro-Nut had the right amount of sweetness that wasn't the rot my teeth sweetness or searching for the sweet flavor. This was basically full of the Apple Pie flavorings and had Apples on the top. Overall, this was an awesome experience and not a bad price for good food, service, and entertainment. I strongly recommend reviewing the menu in advance and trying to figure out what you want to order before you arrive because you don't get to sit down until you've ordered. We arrived before 9am on a summer Sunday without having reviewed the menu in advance, and it did take several minutes for the four of us to figure out what we wanted. Fortunately, we were still able to get a table immediately after placing our order because it wasn't too busy yet. Food wise, I think the reviews mostly speak for themselves. Everything was really good to excellent. My personal favorite was the "Cheezy Herb Biscuit Holes and Chorizo Gravy" -- exquisite! From the sweet section, I think the "Tres Leches French Toast" took the prize. But again, everything was really good, and we'd love to return someday. Service was fine, if just a bit distant. We didn't have a dedicated server; food is delivered by a seemingly random server as it comes out of the kitchen. Atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Since you pay when you order, you don't have to wait for a check when you're done. read more
This place is a cool idea, and the donuts are interesting flavors, but I don't love that we have to pick a drink and two donuts. I'm not a fan of sweets for breakfast, and two donuts are very filling. If I could go back and just order the Everything Beignet Benedict, I would come back. But I'm glad I tried it, and I think that's enough for me. read more
