bagel sandwich, chocolate chip cookie, iced tea
    Gray S.

full stop this place was so good. the bagel sandwich was amazing for something so simple and i liked that they had a good variety of toppings you could put in it. I also had a chocolate chip cookie and it was such a good size and perfectly baked and delicious. I didn't know what i wanted to drink and the barista recommended an iced tea that was so delicious & she was really patient. I wish I was local to here because I would be here all the time. They also had good music playing so overall just a vibe. 10/10.

Wonderful menu of coffee/espresso/tea options. After considering three or four options, I settled on the orange cardamom latte with 1/2 oat milk 1/2 hot water.. delicious and hot, Garlic bagel with egg, sausage pattie and provolone. So delicious and filling. Staff was attentive, friendly and efficient in creating the delights of the morning. No line, no waiting , but continuous customers while I was there. H was great to talk with during my quick wait!

This coffee shop is tucked away in a corner, but it was absolutely filled with people. Had no idea this was near grand ave. I tried the "salty dog" which is their homemade salted caramel latte. 10/10 flavor. Not much seating options, but we were lucky to get the seats along the window. Definitely will be coming back if I'm in the area again.

Lovely atmosphere, kind workers, & great food! I ordered a dirty chai, sweet, & the barista called me over & told asked if I wanted two shots. Turns out they had an extra shot made & gave it to me free of charge! Great place to study, eat, and relax.

Beowolf drink with lavender and orange! Amazing!

Stayed in Portland for a couple of days and going to Grendel"s was my favorite part of the morning. It's a local coffee shop that serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian sandwich's with a great selection of caffeinated and non caffeinated drinks. Staff was always very friendly and works their a#% off. When it gets busy it takes a little while to get your order but totally understandable and worth it. The spot is a little small but has plenty of seating outside as an alternative.

Made a quick stop here on my way to event. One of the rare occasions I don't have time to look at Yelp to choose a spot but the coffee aroma and smell of fresh baked goods lured me in from the sidewalk. The staff were friendly, answered questions and got orders out quickly. There is some seating to work or chill but I think this place is largely a come-and-go spot. I ordered the golden latte which has turmeric and it tasted pretty good! Light in flavor but perfect forthiness. I was able to sub milk with oat easily (can't remember if it was extra). I also got an almond croissant for a friend because it looks soo good! Friend had no complaints on the pastry. Would recommend making a stop!

I called in an order this morning for my family. We got breakfast sandwiches and a bagel. My breakfast sandwich was fantastic! It was a grilled English muffin with egg, cheese, and veggie sausage. I also had a maple cinnamon decaf soy latte. The bagels they serve are super tasty, as well, and the service was so friendly. Yummy little place!

Fun little coffee shop with an eclectic variety of coffee/tea options! I got the salty dog coffee but wasn't a huge fan of it so they graciously replaced it with an iced vanilla latte, which was delicious.

Hole in the wall coffee shop with lots of natural light. Prices are awesome. Coffee and food is delicious, great selection of house made syrups and deli/breakfast sandwhiches. 10/10! Baristas are super kind.

We have traveled the world tasting every type of process from almost every region known to man. I always make it my mission to find the best cup of joe in town, so when I read about Push X Pull, I was hoping it was something we would remember. Luckily, we snagged a parking spot right in front of the shop. As we entered, the baristas were friendly and welcoming. We ordered a drip in a to-go cup and my partner couldn't stop talking about how great the cup of coffee was. We tried buying a bag of Galaxy Hops co-fermented beans, but unfortunately for us they sold out in both locations. Overall, highly recommend! It is the perfect spot to get some work done or simply hangout and talk. There is both indoor and outdoor seating which was nice.

This reminds me of the Korean cafes that are sprinkled all over Southern California. We were delighted to see it here! I ordered a black sesame late and a black sesame mochi donut. Being only one barista, right after you order, he makes your drink immediately. You can hear and see the espresso shots being made and the ice filling your cups. Dependent on your order, he pulls out the cream for the top. I can see the black sesame cream top being very thick and full. A lot of patrons were ordering their tiramisu latte, and I don't blame them! It's what is very popular here. Personally, I enjoyed the black sesame latte very much. It was the perfect amount of cream and sweetness. The taste didn't overpower the coffee, which is nice. Their mochi donuts were good, too, with the consistency of mochi dough. Definitely would make another stop here if I'm ever around!

They are located outdoors within a repurposed trimet station, which add such a a unique Portland touch to their vibe. Although usually a 1-2 person operation, drinks always come out relatively quick! I tried the tiramisu latte and the black sesame latte. The tiramisu latte was easily my favorite. The cream top is rich and delicious, and when mixed into the coffee it really tastes like a classic tiramisu dessert. It's sweet, smooth, and feels like a treat without being overwhelming. The black sesame latte was also great, especially if you like nutty flavors. It has a natural sweetness with a deep roasted sesame taste that almost reminds me of peanut butter, making it both comforting and unique. I've also had their regular latte before and really appreciate the quality of their espresso. The coffee itself has a smooth, balanced flavor that stands out even without added syrups or toppings. A great spot to visit if you enjoy creative specialty drinks but still want genuinely good coffee underneath it all.

It manages to be effortlessly cool without being intimidating, and the quality of the coffee is consistently top-tier. Here is why it's my favorite corner of the Pearl District: The Coffee Curation: What sets Barista apart is that they are a multi-roaster cafe. They feature a rotating selection of the best beans from across the country (and locally!). Whether you're drinking a pour-over or a traditional macchiato, the flavor profiles are always distinct and expertly pulled. Masterful Latte Art: The baristas here are true artists. Every drink looks like a masterpiece, but more importantly, the milk texture is always silky and perfectly steamed. The Aesthetic: The space is stunning. With its dark wood accents, industrial-chic lighting, and those massive windows looking out onto the cobblestone streets of the Pearl, it's the perfect spot to people-watch or get lost in a book. It feels like a cozy, sophisticated library for coffee lovers. The Staff: Despite being one of the busiest spots in the neighborhood, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They are always happy to nerd out about tasting notes or help you pick a bag of beans to take home. The Vibe: It's a great balance of "neighborhood regular" and "must-visit destination." It captures that classic Portland energy perfectly. Pro Tip: Pair your drink with one of their fresh pastries--their selections are always fresh and complement a bold espresso perfectly. Love how amazing the staff is. And the coffee is chef's kiss. Thank you!

The single origin had some promise, with some pleasant acidity in the background, but it couldn't break through the bitter. Things were a little better in my wife's mocha, which had a deep chocolate flavor and silky smooth milk, it paired well with the cinnamon knot pastry we shared. Maybe a place to stick with the milk drinks, or at least this was my experience on this day.
