My husband and I got married last night and came in to get brunch the next morning to celebrate. We waited so long for a horrible experience. As a past server I am very understanding but this was horrible. Our food came later than several tables around that came in after us. All of our food came at different times. Half of us finished eating before the rest of the food came out. Hot coffee came out cold 2 times! Our food was wrong when it came out. The food was okay. The place is busy so I understand that because I served for 5 years but respectfully I don't think we should have to pay for our food when we had that bad of an experience read more

Ambiance is really good. They have a nice patio looking out to the Credit Union of Texas entertainment area Covered with both fans and heaters , it's a great space for brunch! Wait time was average for a Sunday Brunch. We were seated and the host staff was friendly. Service wasn't very good. Our server was pleasant but had poor follow up skills. Drinks were allowed to run out multiple times. Really poor attention to her customers First cup of coffee was lukewarm at best. My husband's Dr Pepper was watered down and we had 2 ask 2 times to get a decent one. 3 Tables seated after us had their food long before us. Seems as if the kitchen was not making orders in the correct sequence. We did observe while waiting that a carry out order waited like 25 minutes before the second half of his order was ready. He had previously been given part of the order. You know it would be cold by the time he received the second half Our server then came by to tell us the kitchen lost our order. Again she was polite and offered muffins or fruit while we waited but at this point we had been waiting for 35 minutes We declined the fruit and muffin offer but she did bring them anyway. She replaced our order and it did come out quickly. It had a really good taste but it was not "hot off the grill". It was just warm. At the very least, I would've expected either the manager or the kitchen manager to apologize for the mixup but nothing. Overall, the food is good. Service was questionable today, but it may have just been a bad day. Kitchen times were not great for us, but it looks like other tables got their food quickly. Definitely have to plan ahead, when visiting this establishment. A two hour wait after getting placed on a waiting list and another 25/30 mins to get your food is not acceptable. Overall, the food was good, but the wait time did affect the rating given., Perhaps things will improve after speaking with the new owner, who stated they recently purchased this establishment. Broken Yolk Cafe never disappoints, whether here in Vegas (visiting from there!) or in McKinney Texas! Good food and great atmosphere. Everything tasted perfect. I got the Cowboy Skillet something outside my norm and it didn't disappoint. We also had the Tiki Toast with some eggs and bacon the side. Our server Tina was fantastic! This is a hard one to write, let me explain. I use to eat at the Original Broken Yoke, in San Diego, off of Garnet Ave, every weekend and sometimes during the week for over 10 years. So after learning that Broken Yoke, opened a location an Hour from me here in Texas, needless to say I was making it happen. The server we had was awesome, but we had to wait about 35 mins before we got our food ( which is super slow for Broken Yoke ) . I ordered the very same thing I always ordered, The El Fuego, sad to say but it was rough to eat. It's suppose to be a spicy dish as it shows a little chili near the name. It's suppose to make you sweat a little, this thing had 5 jalapeños in it.. the chorizo was dry as hell. The only cheese it had was the last 2 bits. Zero flavor.... I can go on and on but I think you get the point. My girlfriend's dish had the same issues but more of the type of meat used was either from a different vendor or how it was cooked. It's very load inside, they need to get sound Deadner panels or something. The outside seemed to be pretty awesome and spacious. Hopefully the new owners get things situated after getting back from San Diego and things will get to what it should be. Broken Yoke food is absolutely amazing, and I hate to see it not being prepared to the standard of what people in San Diego get to enjoy. read more

Second time eating here. First time it wasn't bad. This time we both got meals that we could hardly touch. We should have known by a nearly empty restaurant... it was surely a sign. I ordered the pulled pork tacos with rice & beans and homemade salsa. One salsa looked like it had seen much better days. When i picked up a taco the contents just burst through the bottom. Stale corn tortilla. The rice and beans looked and tasted old. It was a big yuck. My husband ordered a croissant sandwich with hash browns (which were limp) The sandwich was not much better. New spot we stumbled on during a media event for Influencers before the opening 6/26. The manager was gracious enough to allow us to sit at the bar and sample breakfast. They did not disappoint! My GOD the Avo toast and spicy vegan bowl was seasoned to perfection and the amount of food given was more than generous. The bar tender Jose was awesome!!! He gave us a sample of their house made salsas and whew chile! I'm coming back for that tomatillo green salsa. Overall, this place will be successful. Pictures and stars on here made it look so promising! Tina was so sweet and helpful. I had the Border Benedict. The carne asada was not seasoned. The homemade poblano sauce was also flavorless. I really wanted to love this cute restaurant. My husband and I love to go to brunch on the weekend. As soon as we stepped inside it was FREEZING (and not hot outside). Ridiculously freezing. The air never cycled off. The menu was a bit more expensive for mimosas and Bloody Mary's than other restaurants we enjoy. The flights were cute but pricey. Our waitress was kind but scatter brained. She took our menus but not our order. She took 2 other tables' orders that were seated after us. We waved her down and told her we needed to order. She didn't realize she hadn't taken our order yet. Once we got our food, my order was completely wrong after repeating very clearly what I wanted (chicken and Belgian waffle Benedict). I told my husband to eat before his food got cold. He was half way done before my food arrived. While the Benedict was good, the hash browns were not warm at all. We noticed another table nearby ordered coffee and the mom and kids had their hands wrapped around the mug to stay warm. Her kids had on heated vests and she went to grab her warm jacket from the car. We spoke with the manager, who was nice and offered to seat us outside, which probably would've been warmer than inside but windy and chilly. Reading the room - everyone was cold, sitting on their hands to stay warm, hoodies pulled over their heads. My husband is from up north and was shivering cold. Unfortunately we won't be back anytime soon - $80 for breakfast and the entire time being miserably cold with subpar service isn't worth it. read more

I visited with my family on a Monday afternoon for brunch. We were seated right away, but the table wasn't clean. I understand the front desk attendant was young but helpful. Unfortunately, it took about 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order. After placing it, the food took another 40 minutes to arrive and even then, only a couple of people at our table received their meals. No cutlery was provided, so we waited another five minutes to get someone's attention, and when they finally brought it, it was just for one person. My kid started crying since their food hadn't arrived yet. Another guest at a nearby table noticed that we were being ignored and kindly asked a staff member to help us. Eventually, everyone received their food, but we had to wait again for the check. When it finally came, we were charged for coffee that was supposed to be complimentary that day. Despite all this, I still left a tip because I wanted to give the staff the benefit of the doubt. Has anyone else experienced this. read more

Had the absolute best experience this morning catching breakfast. From the moment we were greeted at the door to leaving satisfied beyond expectations it was amazing! Steak and eggs for me, taking a chance on breakfast steaks, and was pleasantly surprised. Cooked to perfection and definitely not a small serving at all. Hash browns were crisp, hot, and tasty. Eggs just right, over medium and perfect. My sister got the Monte Cristo sandwich, she loved it, and it was so substantial I got to eat one-quarter of it...yum! My wife got the cinnamon pancakes. DO NOT GET a full stack!!! They are the size of a wagon wheel!! She got a short stack and all three of us dug in on them as well! The were absolutely incredible! A totally great experience! I loved every visit I had at the broken yolk each time I visited California. I was excited that it finally came to Texas. This location has been disorganized, understaffed as well as underwhelming. As people who got onto the waitlist after us (party of 2) were seated before us. We overheard the hostess tell them they will have to wait 45 min to an hour for their food. Proceed with caution 25 min wait will turn into an hour. If you as how much longer they will tell you 25 min more. This is our second visit and both times either the food or seating was extremely slow. I don't think we will be trying "Broken Yolk Cafe"anytime soon! #Broken service read more

I was really disappointed with my experience at Broken Yolk Cafe. I came for the first time today with my in-laws, who had been here before and loved it, but unfortunately, our visit didn't live up to their past experiences. We arrived at 10:30 AM and put our name on the waitlist. The host told us it would be about 15 minutes and took down our name and number. Since the place was busy, we waited patiently. However, by 11:00 AM, we still hadn't been seated, and we noticed that a large party that arrived after us was seated before us. When we politely asked the host for an update, we were told that we had removed our name from the list via text--something we never did or received a message about. Why would we remove ourselves and then continue waiting? After clearing up the misunderstanding, we were finally seated after waiting over 40 minutes. But the delays didn't end there. We sat with our menus for another 15 minutes without being acknowledged. Eventually, a woman--who we assumed was the manager--came over and asked how we were doing. We explained that no one had taken our drink or food orders yet, and she quickly got someone to help us. As for the food, it was just okay. Nothing terrible, but definitely not worth the wait or the hype from all the great reviews. Overall, I left feeling really let down. Service plays a huge role in the dining experience, and this visit just didn't meet expectations. I'd love to try it out again since we enjoy supporting local businesses and franchises, but I really hope they take this as an opportunity to fix the service. read more
