I am here regularly for brunch. The staff is very friendly and always chats with us and even remembers us at times. The breakfast is mostly good, maybe a bit above average, simple but done well. Orange juice is very good and freshly squeezed. Today I had the eggs Benedict for the first time and enjoyed it. Needed breakfast on a Sunday morning and The original pancake house was nearby. We waited for about 10 minutes and we were seated. The service is good however the food, not so much. We ordered the strawberry French toast, a Belgium waffle and French Toast with a side of bacon and eggs. The food came about 10 minutes later and I was disappointed. The eggs were awful and the French toast was lukewarm warm. My wife didn't care for the strawberry French toast as it was a little raw. Overall the food wasn't good but the service was ok. Came on a Sunday and as expected, we waited for about 45 minutes. I like their pancakes it's Fluffy.The bacon that came with it was delicious and not too salty. The hashbrowns was pretty good too. I was looking for somewhere to have breakfast before heading into work nearby and this location came highly recommended. Got there around 10:30 and it was not very busy and we were seated right away. Our server was very prompt and great about checking on us. It was a little rainy so I started with some mint tea. Cute display and I really adore their coffee mugs. For my meal, I opted to go with the city scrambler. Which is peppers, onions and broccoli with scrambled egg whites on top. The portion size was perfect. I've been to this place 3 times every Sunday for brunch with the ol' ball & chain and the food was phenomenal all 3 times. I get the ribeye with eggs and this is one of the few places that knows how to cook a ribeye medium rare. The French press coffee is amazing. The last time I ate at any TOPH location, the Strawberry Yogurt French Toast appeared on the menu. As the closest location had closed, when I attempted to dine here a couple weeks ago, there were folks waiting outside the restaurant and the parking lot was very crowded. This time, when I arrived here around 8:30am, there was no wait to be seated. Unlike the Strawberry Yogurt topping which was exclusive to the french toast, the Banana Pecan Maple topping is also available on the pancake and waffle. I decided to get the Banana Pecan with Maple Drizzle pancakes. There was definitely ample drizzle applied on the pancakes, so none of the breakfast syrup was needed. Also, its flavor may have diluted the maple flavor of the drizzle. If there had been as many bananas on the four pancakes as depicted on the menu, I would not have needed the both sausage links to satisfy my hunger. I definitely enjoyed their coffee. Fortunately, unlike other restaurants, I did not have to wait for my waiter to refill my mug. There were employees walking table to table checking if any customer needed a refill. read more

When I lived in Dallas back in the 2010's, the Original Pancake House was always in the weekend breakfast rotation. I was in Frisco last week celebrating my fiancé's birthday and decided to introduce her to breakfast at the OPH. The first thing we ordered as soon as we sat down was some coffee and their famous Dutch Baby, which I realized had to be experienced instead of described. My fiancé loved it, describing it as a cross between a crepe and a pancake with a nice lemon custard like finish. It was totally nostalgic and enjoyable for me. The rest of the breakfast was awesome, but even more awesome was our wait staff! Brandy was attentive and engaging, especially knowing it was my fiancé's first time there, even when it was busy. One of the managers, Carlos, came over and to say Hi and let us try some not-on-the-menu-yet items! There was even an accidental spill at one of the tables behind us and before we blinked there were 4 employees busily cleaning it up and in a matter of moments it was like it never happened. It was absolutely delicious and our service was great! Everything was so fresh and obviously scratch made. The homestyle potatoes were amazing and I even couldn't resist the pancakes even though I never eat carb heavy items like that. They were so light and fluffly, I couldn't stop myself.
