We've been 3x and after the last 2 visits we will not be back. First, the restaurant is just dirty. Table had leftover dishes from the previous customers and table was super sticky. Bathrooms are simply gross, no toilet paper, water and junk all over the floor and the sink didn't work. When we told the front staff they just said 'ok'. Thankfully we carry sanitizer. Food quality has plummeted since our first visit. All of our food was cold and either very over or very under done. Side of fruit had rotten items in it. Food took a very long time to come out and our wait person preferred to hang out with the hostesses rather than check on us. We had to ask for refills twice. It pains to give here only 3 stars as it really warrants higher than this, but our last visit set that back. This is a 5 star place. We had been going since they opened, and had great service and food, very attentive servers, engaged manager, and nice big menu. Last visit however was not like prior visits and we haven't been back since. Our server, a blonde lady older and presumably more experienced than the younger servers from other visits, was a bit officious and Interactions were a bit awkward. The toast on our order was bread untoasted. It happens, and is an easy, quick fix. But neither was the case this time. After finally getting our server's attention to fix the order what she brought back was clearly burnt and inedible. Bad on the cook, worse on the server, the person who gets tipped and who should look out for her customer, which she did not. Did she do it on purpose? No idea, but someone her age and attitude should know better. The meal was left unfinished and it was an very unsatisfying experience. A big deal about just toast? Perhaps, but the time to get her to check on us, the time for it to come back as requested and it not, her disinterest in being a good server, the rest of the meal cold and others finished eating, spoiled the experience. We tipped her but we should not have. We will eventually go back, and would like to see a response from the management which we know are great, but if we get that same server again we will leave without ordering. read more

All 3 French toast variations were jam packed with flavor and exactly what I expected . My gf ordered the pulled pork tacos and I ordered the fiesta burrito. Both entrees came with the salsa verde that was made in house and I couldn't be more satisfied as a hungry man. He could not have cared less that we driver over an hr, that we called multiple times as their own website states to and made absolutely no effort to make it right. We got to Broken Yolk at 10:15 on Mother's Day knowing the wait would be insane. The wait at the time we were added to the list was 45 minutes. After 2 hours and still on the waiting list, I asked the hostess the time frame and was told they are not seating anyone for at least 30 minutes because the kitchen is backed up. The manager didn't apologize, but did offer 2 free entrees if we continue to wait, but note it will take at least 45 minutes to get your food after your order is placed. At the 3 hour mark I was notified our table was ready as I was eating lunch at Mi Cocina. The lack of communication is the reason I'm giving a bad review. If they would have been proactive in communication, it would be understandable. read more

I appreciate the booth - but felt like I was placed in the corner on time out or something . The servers/waiters were kind , and the place is spacious and clean . I grabbed a Greek omelette with a side of fresh fruit and a biscuit . The omelette lacked flavor and had oil oozing out from the sides - I'm assuming this is because of the olives ? And the biscuit was very dry . Overall, food was decent. I would come back and try it out again. Hands down the best brunch place in the area! The service was incredible, the staff was so kind and friendly. But the best part of course was the food! I had the Mimosa flight, which was delicious, a bit too much for me to handle (I'm a one shot wonder) so I had to share! The hubby enjoyed the bloody Mary. The Ranchero Skillet was fantastic and had a good amount of heat. Super flavorful and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The hubby had the Chicken Fried Steak which was crispy and yummy. We had breakfast at Broken Yolk Cafe today and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's great to have Broken Yolk here in Texas! We were promptly greeted by friendly staff, and our waitress, Drea, provided knowledgeable suggestions and checked on us frequently. While the soundproofing could be improved, we found the bright and open interior of Broken Yolk pleasant. We prefer healthier menu options so we shared several dishes including the yogurt parfait, avocado toast, huevos rancheros, and lemon-ricotta pancakes. Each dish was delicious and served in HEARTY portions. Broken Yolk is very generous. They could cut the portions down and still fill up every customer. One suggestion--I prefer a more savory salsa on the huevos rancheros. For drinks, we savored a perfectly sweetened matcha latte, a fantastic cappuccino, and a refreshing lemonade. Though it was a bit tart for our taste, this was easily remedied with a touch of sweetener. The staff promptly cleared our plates, and the manager checked in with us, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. We will be back! read more
