This place is a franchise so nothing too spectacular on the food but it is decent quality taste overall compared to other breakfast chains. It is also located at the Adriatic village (Croatia inspired) so it is a nice spot to grab breakfast and take a stroll and hang around the village like the waterfront trail overseeing castles and bridges. My family came here on a Sunday (noonish). No reservation required and we got seated right away. The place was buzzing and lively. Service time was about average . Prices are reasonable in my opinion . I ordered the mango passion for drink , I could barely taste any mango but our server took care of it and added more puree /juice which made it better. I had a Mediterranean salad which tasted about normal, portioning is good but the place a little small so it's harder to mix the dressing. My son ordered the Very berry french toast , he said he likes the taste , it had an abundance of fresh fruit topping . He ate the whole plate . Hubby got the Whole hog skillet with a side of biscuit . He said the biscuit was good and not dry , he enjoyed meal, the egg was a bit over done especially when he asked for over easy, he still ate it though . Starwood is a favorite of ours, we tend to stop by for breakfast more than anything. You can go wrong with any breakfast option. Saturday and Sunday mornings are very busy, but usually you'll be seated within 30 mins. Location here is great, parking is near by in a garage as street parking is always full. A cute cafe in a cute neighborhood. Adriatica feels like a little slice of Europe, and it was fun walking around after our meal. The food was alright, nothing super special about it in my opinion but it was very filling. The pancakes looked delicious and I was excited to try them but they just tasted like normal pancakes to me with some blueberries and blue food coloring. I didn't taste the cream cheese in it. My boyfriend's chocolate chip pancakes tasted better in my opinion, but that's also because chocolate chip is hard to mess up. The Frisco skillet had a good amount of vegetables in it, but I wish there was a little bit more sausage. read more

There were 3 slices of chicken. The burger was again just ok...nothing great. I will not be back. I am not cheap but $4.50 for a coffee is just ridiculous. One person in our party got sick (vomiting) after eating the hog skillet. I informed staff about this when she ran back to the bathroom the second time in 10 min. Nothing happened. I talked to the manager, and she acted like it was nothing. She said she would check with the kitchen but looked at me as if I was out of line. I told her that I did not think the person who got sick while there should have to pay and that was never addressed nor knowledge. Wife had the avocado toast with egg whites and she enjoyed it. I had the whole hog skillet. The bacon on top was cooked perfectly, nice and crispy. The hasbrowns underneath where undercooked and the portion was small. I also had a Carmel latte that was delicious. Overall we will comeback. Lots of choices on the menu. Service was excellent. Back again for my third review because once again I had items missing from my order and instructions for crispy bacon and crispy hash browns were NOT followed. How hard is it for the person to take an order from Uber Eats and put it on the ticket/order at the restaurant? It blows my mind that the people (by people I mean Camila I.) that work here can't do that. Y'all I might as well have dug up a potato and eaten it raw...that's how undercooked the hash browns were. No brown in sight. Crispy bacon should not have raw meat or be impossible to bite off without pulling...YUCK. Where oh where has the apple juice gone??? I can tell you where it wasn't. SMH. You know why it wasn't there because Camila I. didn't put it on the ticket. I've talked to the manager (Camila I.) before and she doesn't give a F***. Another brunch cafe that blew me away. Wild mushroom omelet has 3 kinds of mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Delicious! Choice of hash browns, grits or a bowl of berries. It was a big bowl of berries, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. All fresh, and so good. My other choice I had to make that came with the omelet was toast (gf option), biscuits or pancakes (gf option). I chose the gf pancakes. There were 3 salad plate sized fluffy pancakes. They have real butter on the table and it tasted like real maple syrup. Those pancakes! If you're gf, you will be amazed at the texture, not gritty as some gf flour mixtures tend to be. I was so excited. I ate one and took the other two home for breakfast the next day. I failed to get a photo of those pancakes! :/ My husband ordered the "For Dad" breakfast, eggs/bacon/French toast. The French toast was big & thick, more than most I'd ever seen. We absolutely loved our meals, and our server, Jerone, was very attentive and did a great job keeping us happy. This would have been a five star review but they dropped the ball in the last leg of this adventure... THE LOCATION In a really cool part of McKinney that looks like a Croatian village... "Adriatic"... VERY COOL AREA!!! THE FOOD/ PRICES Very reasonable prices for breakfast and really good selection/ variety of foods. Good portions and good flavoring on everything that we ordered. One issue (for my wife) was the toast. It was lightly toasted and she prefers the toast done longer. Here's where the rub comes in.... The waitress helping us (Jacqui) was very friendly and on top of her game. My wife brings the toast issue to her attention and she comes back with more toast, but it's toasted the exact same way. (Not Jacqui's fault. She wasn't working the kitchen). My wife decided to leave it alone. Then another woman comes to the table... we assume she was a more tenured waitress or possibly a manger. She takes the second toast away but never returns with more toast. Jacqui comes with the bill. I pay and that's the end of seeing Jacqui. Finally a male manager comes to ask about the toast issue. My wife goes through this long explanation and the guy is like, "What would you like me to do?" (To which my wife explains that she was just telling the guy what happened and what she was hoping to get.... DARK TOAST)... to which the manger says, "Well I'll talk with the waitress to make sure she keeps an eye out..." Immediately I stop the manager and I explain to him (politely but bluntly) "Sir, to put it simple, my wife is asking for toast that is toasted longer than normal. All this 'I'll talk with my waitress and her her be on the lookout' is not teamwork and it's not taking ownership to correct the situation." Five minutes later, he comes back with darker toast. Why this became a conversation (and a quest to pass the issue off to someone else) was beyond me. I'm a pretty laid back guy and I usually let my wife handle those issues, but that was ridiculous and I needed to jump in. There was a huge breakdown in service somewhere over there and it was a little disappointing. The good was great and the location is amazing. But if I go back again, I think we'll have to be VERY SPECIFIC about how we want certain things when we order. read more

The pecan waffle, very berry crepes, and the pumpkin pancakes are some of our breakfast favorites. Then for lunch you don't want to miss the Cuban, the BLT or their amazing hamburger. Indulge in their specialty drinks...Carmel Pumpkin Latte, Hot Chocolate, or Cappuccino. But their signature Segafredo coffee is always good and don't forget the fresh squeezed orange juice! Starwood is a good place to get breakfast. I do not know how to describe the area where Starwood is located. Let's just say that it is pretty ballerific. There are lots of areas built to resemble other locations. Most fail, but from the moment I parked, I felt like I was in Europe somewhere. The whole area is beautifully done. Inside the restaurant is very attractive. It didn't hurt that the table overlooked the large lake outside. Located across the lake was a massive house that was a reminder of just how different this area is from LA. Not that it's better, but it sure is different. If you have read any of my reviews, you know that I despise fancy breakfast places. Starwood does do fancy, but they also do traditional very well. For example; my kid got some nutella and banana crepe (fancy) that she said was great. I got a Denver omelet (western) nd it too was great. What in the world? Most fancy places cannot do traditional. Starwood can. Other reviews mentioned a long wait. I can't comment on that since we were seated right away. Maybe the early time helped, so get there early and you might be lucky. read more

To our surprise we were given nothing but attitude. I tried to ignore it incase maybe the server was just having a bad day, but my food had a few hairs in it. That's right. Not one, but SEVERAL. Who's getting a haircut near my food?! When I complained to the manager he was so unprofessional in the way he handled my complaint. He took the dish, still made me pay for it, and told me that I could get something else as long as I paid for the other meal as well! How UPSETTING!!!! The staff and management need to be TAMED. They have several locations in McKinney that I know of however I have only been to this one. The staff are friendly and to be honest I have never had to wait to be seated which is great for me! I stopped in here the first time for a business lunch and fell in love with their French Toast! I literally will drive an hour to eat here if that says anything. I've been here on a few occasions and have enjoyed the food every time. This visit I got the Sam's Breakfast Tacos and a Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Pancake. The tacos were pretty good and the pancake was alright. Gluten free items can be pretty hit or miss at some restaurants. The reason I gave 3 stars and not 4 is because of the wait time. Starwood is popular so there's generally a wait to get your order taken or receive the check unless you hunt down your server. However, I've never had to wait to be seated which is a plus. We love this place! This is our go-to brunch spot on the weekend, and we love to bring out-of-town guests here. I always get the southwest skillet. It's incredible, and enough food to take home for left overs. This location is beautiful too. Great atmosphere! There was an older gentleman at the host stand, and he was awesome on a busy Sunday morning. As we waited to put our name on the wait list, he smiled at us and acknowledged that we had walked in. After that, he proceeded to smile and direct the flow of traffic. As we sat down to wait, we watched him navigate through tons of hugs, directing the younger hostesses and speaking to EVERYONE that walked in the door. Anyway, to top the warm welcome off, there was a jazz saxophonist playing various genres of songs accompanied by instrumentals on his phone. At this moment, it is safe to say......we were hooked on this place. We ordered our food from the waitress who did good at taking care of us. She was able to answer our questions and get our food out in a timely manner. Nothing amazing, yet nothing bad about her. Just an average waitress with no wow factor. The coffee was really good, and the food came out pretty hot. That's about it. After being wowed and awed by the atmosphere and the dynamic gentleman at the door, the food was really decent, at best. Everything seemed unseasoned and boring. At first, I thought it was just me because I am a heavy salt user. However, my wife is the exact opposite of me, and the food was very bland to her. She had the mushroom omlette and was excited to try something new (shes not a regular omelet eater like me). She was very unimpressed. My pancakes reminded me of the boxed microwave pancakes....almost too uniform and perfectly shaped, and definitely not homemade. The chicken fried chicken seemed as if was just fried with no seasoning on it or in it - meaning they definitely did not brine the chicken. The white gravy definitely tasted like water and flour, and that's it. No pepper, etc... I'm not saying the food was horrible. I am just saying that the food was boring and lacked any wow factor.
