So the 1st time I came here the food was amazing! So I had wanting to go again. Well today i finally made it back and am completely disappointed! I ordered Togo and made the mistake of not checking my order, so when I got home the forgot my biscuit. Which I was really excited for, but not in the mood to drive all the way back again. I ordered the rancher omelette and the potato's were under cooked, there was barely any bacon and it was just not what I was hoping for. Rather disappointed. read more

Way better this time. Last time wasn't bad either just didn't get the right amount of the chicken with my chicken and waffles. This time I got the Cali burrito with a side of home fries. Really good. The fries kinda were a bit hard in the middle for ones that weren't fried directly but still really good. Waitress was super nice, polite, checked in a right amount. Absolutely terrible experience. We were quoted a 30-40 minute wait. Ended up waiting an hour and a half. Waited another 40 minutes for our food. For only the kids food to come out COLD. And I don't mean, warm. I mean COLD. we just asked for them to microwave it so we didn't have to wait another 30 minute for new food because at this point, our kids are starving. Our server never once checked on us, we had to ask the food runner to help with the food. Nor did he seem to care we had to ask for our food to be heated up. My husband ordered the Sooes Benedict which came with NO meat. I ordered the Hash Skillet with was 95% potatoes. I am not one to run and leave a bad review but after spending $80 on such and awful experience, I needed to share. We asked for a manager, never came. We just wanted to celebrate our sons TK graduation and yes they were busy, delays are expected. We are okay with that. But the experience was absolutely trash. We were here back in October when indoor dining was also an option. That visit was awesome as we had friends visiting and had never eaten here. Nov. 23, we were celebrating a special day, granted only outdoor seating was available, we wanted to seat on the side patio and not the front, the hostess did not even acknowledge or check if a table was open. Menu was qr code or paper, someone took our drink order but it did take almost 10 minutes for it to arrive, placed our order and sadly, it also took a long time for the food to come. If some people say I'm a diva that is fine but there were plenty of servers around. We'll still be back, hopefully better service next time read more

What a great experience for my first time at this location. We had about 40 people in our party. The restaurant was notified several days before hand and were ready upon our arrival. Came here for some late brunch and mimosas. Our server Jacob was phenomenal, constantly at our table to check on us and was very kind. The woman when we walked into the door asked if there was any special occasion, my wife told her it was our anniversary. She eventually came over to our table when we were close to finishing eating with a dessert with "happy anniversary" written on the plate! It was super sweet and made our day. What's delightful find for Veterans Weekend Saturday morning breakfast. The food was excellent and choices are plentiful. I had half and half - a classic egg Benedict and a refined pesto egg Benedict. Both were excellent, tasty and temperature is just right. The fruit bowl is freshly cut and larger piece than most restaurant. This restaurant is large for its kind and service was excellent. The check-in was swift. We requested a window side table, a window side table it was. Our server, Allison, was efficient but totally delightful. She had a military precision in her process but remain personable with a great smile. She was attentive, coffee mugs were filled promptly. Everything we could have asked for we found in her. Her attitude is unsurpassed, I wouldn't be surprised to see as management next time we come in. The place is very clean and well maintained. Window sill to baseboard. I mean, to each their own right? I decide to follow up with a second visit for a birthday cake to see if the cake would change my mind. Although was still disappointed. I guess this place was just not meant for me. I will say this place is really nice and aesthetic. Visually pretty and clean, I'll give them that. As well as their customer service, they have a couple of staff that are really nice and welcoming. I appreciate the help I received on the two visits I took here.

I went to The Broken Yolk in Oceanside today 4/27 with a few friends and I must say it was a pleasant experience. Ive been to the one in the Carmel Valley area but never North of there. I ordered the California breakfast burrito per the waitress's recommendation. It was awesome. Great flavor, stuffed full of ingredients and cheesy just how I like. The homefries were great (comes with rice and beans but i subsituted). All of the servers seemed on point and really working. At no point did I see anyone standing around as I always see at the Carmel valley location. We sat on the patio where we enjoyed the amazing weather and view of the street/ cars passing (lol). Our waitress Amanda specifically was great. Which is actually the only reason I decided to write a review since she asked us to yelp. From the beginning she was personable and very attentive. We were sat and for some reason the hostess did not leave us menus and we had no silverware. Our waitress had menus and silver for us immediately and apologized for the inconvenience. She was quick with bringing our drinks and even remembered my strange request for 2 straws and an extra cup of ice.i was impressed. She also noticed my friend was drinking water like a fish and brought him a huge cup of water. Our drink glasses were always full and despite her other tables we were always taken care of and did not feel rushed or like she was in a hurry. I also would like to thank her for her recommendations on food choices! I got the burrito as mentioned, my friend got the mom omelet (which we all of course teased him for) and my other buddy got French toast. All great. Kristen the hostess was really nice as well and when we passed by the kitchen window the cooks were spitting out food like no other. So quick so they deserve props too. the paintings on the way to the restroom were humorous as well. All in all a good experience and thanks to the good food and friendly service I would visit again. Where to begin? I went to this place once and I will never go back. We always heard good things so we gave it a try. So here's what happened when we sat down...some guy comes over before were even completely seated, literally slammed 2 waters down, said "coffee?" And walked away. About 10 min later a guy comes practically running past our table, asks if were ready (while still running past) not even giving us a chance to respond. So finally a few min later we order, keep in mind, I order the strawberry nutella crepes. We get our food a few min later and there's no nutella. So it takes a while but I wave the waiter down and tell him there's no nutella on my nutella crepes. He runs to the kitchen, fills a bowl with nutella, and puts it on the table as he runs by again. In my opinion that's a pretty ridiculous way of "fixing" the situation. So we start eating and next to us, the customers decide too have champagne with their breakfast...lots of champagne. Then start taking shots of hot sauce and puking in their champagne flutes. Yet the waitress continues to serve them more champagne and laugh about it with them. Who wants to see that while they are eating? Oh, and don't get coffee there. My husbands was so disgusting and filled with grounds yet we were still charged for it. I emailed a manager or the head office, whatever it was. She apologized and said she would be sending me a gift card that day so I could give them another chance. A month went by and I never got anything so I e-mail her back. Apparently she forgot and would have her assistant send one right away. About a week later I get a gift card...with no balance on it. I asked her why there was no balance...that was about a month ago...still no response. Apparently they think it's funny when customers get crappy service and then a get a blank gift card in return. After making the drive from Orange County to San Diego for a sports event, I stopped by Broken Yolk Cafe in Oceanside on my way back home for a late lunch, and I'm so glad I did! It ended up being one of the highlights of my day. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with genuine hospitality. The receptionist (I unfortunately didn't catch her name) was warm, professional, and made the check-in process quick and easy, even during a busy afternoon. My server, Suzie T, was absolutely outstanding. She was attentive, thoughtful, and truly cared about making sure I had a great dining experience. She consistently checked in to see how I was enjoying my meal, kept my water glass full without me ever having to ask, and made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. It's the little details like that that make a restaurant memorable. The food was fantastic--fresh, high-quality, flavorful, and exactly what I needed after a long morning of training and driving. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in preparing meals with quality ingredients, and every bite was satisfying. As someone who frequently travels throughout Southern California for races, training, and endurance events, I visit many restaurants along the way. Great service can be hard to find, but the team at Broken Yolk Cafe in Oceanside truly exceeded my expectations. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made me feel right at home. Thank you to Suzie T and the entire staff for making my afternoon so enjoyable. I'll definitely be making this one of my regular stops whenever I'm back in Oceanside. The day started out Awesome..and just got better once we arrived at the Broken Yolk Cafe... from the time we parked to the last puff of an after meal cigarette (Hey we all have vices... do not pretend YOU don't)... this place was BETTER than Grandma's... Upon entering we were greeted by a smiling and cheering hostess.. and after we made her give us the grand tour.. to get just the perfect booth.. she was still smiling and looked happy.. Clean and comfy Booth by the Clean windows..(stickler for clean windows) letting in the morning sun.. so refreshing.. Then Johnathan ( a very nice clean cut cheery lad.. ) came over and got our drink order.. Then they sent in the Big Gun... Robyn... if 1 out of ten people could be so cheering and bubbly at this time of a.m... (even after coffee)... the divorce rate could be reduced.. this woman.. took my best shots (sick jokes, compliments and suggestions on many things.. including her cats..).. and still provided beyond excellent attentive service..even when she got slammed with more tables.. food was huge.. 3 meals in one... hot and tasty.. My first visit to Broken Yolk finally occurred this past Sunday. While I appreciate going out for breakfast, I can't say that it's an event that happens often. Usually I find that I can cook just as good of a breakfast as most restaurants, while saving a considerable amount of dough in the end. Until NOW. Broken Yolk is destined to be one of my favorite breakfast spots from now on! I had the Eggs Florentine and it was TO. DIE. FOR. Perfectly cooked poached eggs, excellent hollandaise sauce, all piled on a thick bed of spinach atop english muffins. YUM. Got the hashbrowns with it...nothing like expertly cooked, non-oily, shredded potatoes to accompany those awesome eggs florentine! The bang for the buck was considerable...quite the large portion for about $10. My family also had an incredible breakfast- dishes including the John Wayne and Eggs Benedict- that they continue to rave about. In addition to our tasty experience, the Yolk was pretty busy (as they should be on a Sunday morning!), yet our table was seated quickly and we received our meals promptly. Don't waste your time.......DISAPPOINTED I have to say, what a disappointment, came here with high expectations, this was our 3rd visit....... sorry BYC , Food is typically what we consider "Diner Fast Food" ........ yuk Nothing was homemade, food arrived luke warm to cold, HOW ? Ordered the Mom omelet, that was weird, kinda like eggs were already made and they just warmed it and added the filling ? ! Not sure, was really bad...... Toast was cold..... coffee is just bad, home potato's were not what we are used to-... muffins were so dry and crumbly and wondered if they were old, they were awful. Just really lacking in quality. We have been to Carmel Mountain also with friends for birthday get-together and they were worse- long wait and very very slow, again lacking in food quality. We will stick to Beach Break, really good coffee and the service is over-the-top, the best coffee cake and food is cooked to order.....Bessie's for Mexican : ) Disappointed that BYC has become a just another "chain restaurant". read more

2nd time here and 2nd time delicious as always! Don't have many Broken Yolks where I live so when I'm in CA I always ask my friend to take me and husband. They take reservations, which is nice, esp. on Sundays where it's most BUSY. Minute I walked in I was seated immediately in front of 20 other guests who didn't make reservations. Only breakfast and lunch here. Mom's omelette for me and husband and it's all vegetables and HUGE. Hashbrowns are very generous and big and took 1/4 of the plate. Had a diet coke with my "brunch" and my husband a nice cup of coffee. Waitress checks on us many times. Service was great as always and the omelette was very big, too big for me to eat all in one sitting so I had to ask for a to-go box. My friend got a CA Omelette and was very pleased - he's a big bacon type of guy and loved the fries inside the omelette. Overall another great exp at Broken Yolk. This time I had to write a review of it. Highly recommended. Just make sure to call first for a reservation to skip the lines! read more

My 88 year old mom and I had such a great experience at this very popular busy and bustling local breakfast/lunch restaurant, that we want to enthusiastically share with you our highest recommendation. Very family-friendly, great for teen groups, dates, singles, & oldies, too! From the varied menu with something delicious for everyone's taste, and even a special kid's menu just right for mom :), to the upbeat friendly, polite, and ever-at-your service hostess, waiters, busers, water and coffee helpers, all taking care of us; to the perfect booth-setting for mom next to a huge sunlit window warming her on this perfect sunny winter day, .... we stayed a long time enjoying our outing together. No one ever rushed us though the place was hopping and full. Eric, our waiter, is the best of the best ! Ask for him, and remind him of the two old ladies for whom he made our day ! Food was amazing! I had the country fried steak with a side of hash browns and scrambled eggs. I was most astonished from the eggs because in most breakfast places they taste raw and have no seasoning. These were absolutely perfect. My steak was crisp and their gravy as absolutely amazing. The service was great. Our server Fausto was delightful and came back quickly with our drink orders. Going with my Spanish speaking parents was easier than most places because the majority of their staff was bilingual, and no need for me to translate! And my parents got exactly what they ordered with no confusion. The servers came back periodically refilling our coffee mugs and soda cups. The wait time was even better! Though they had a full house, we got a table as soon as walking in because of their giant floor plan. It was amazing considering how hungry we were! I recently visited the Broken Yolk Cafe after doing a 5K with friends, and unfortunately, the experience wasn't great. One of my friends ordered a meal for herself and one to go, and specifically asked the waitress not to put in the to-go order until we were about to leave. However, things went wrong when the waitress either forgot or there was some miscommunication with the kitchen. My friend was on a time crunch, and we were told repeatedly by the waiter and then the manager that it would just be a few more minutes. Well, those "few minutes" turned into 15, and my friend finally asked the manager to just cancel the order. The manager assured us she'd take care of it herself, but it took another 10 minutes for the to-go order to come out. To make matters worse, there was no offer to compensate for the inconvenience. This experience definitely left a sour taste and doesn't make me eager to return. read more

Parking: Ample parking available. Food: Delicious! Service: Needs improvement. The food was delicious, but the service could have been better. Our server was courteous and got most of our orders right, but didn't check in on us regularly. There was a mistake with the kitchen, and a meal was missing, but we didn't get a follow-up until about 10-15 minutes later. When we mentioned the issue, there was no apology for the oversight. Additionally, the server claimed they were out of non-dairy creamer, though most other tables inside had it. While we understand that many businesses are short-staffed, it did feel like we were forgotten, especially in the patio area. Overall, a good experience but room for improvement in customer service. Not sure about the service inside. The atmosphere is casual and laid-back, with plenty of seating and a comfortable setting. It's a good spot. read more

I was in your cafe on Wednesday 8-12-26 from10am to10:50 am placed my order at 10:14 the ticket said didn't get my order until 10:45 am as your guest service finally around 10:35 as me what did I order again. I looked back where he went he talked with another employee they had placed my order to stay not to go . My food looked like they placed it back to cook some more because everything was over cooked burnt!!!! So I talked with the original employee that took my order he told me well it's still hot. Very disappointing because that was my first time at the Broken Yolk Cafe. I order pancakes burnt, bacon and sausage burnt, hashbrowns burnt, toast burnt and eggs. They emailed me two days ago asking me to tell them more about what happened. Haven't heard from them. A good business start from upper management down to the workers who work for you. read more

I was visiting my brother in Oceanside last Friday and he took me out to breakfast at the broken yolk cafe. I've never been there before so looking at pictures I was kind of excited. We were sat right away which is always nice! & the server was so sweet and friendly, very attentive! & super fast (Which I don't always get much of living in LA) so I was really glad the service was so great! My server Terie recommended a mimosa which I didn't think they had but was very excited to find out!! Mimosas are my favorite :) I had this really good tiki French toast & my brother had biscuits and gravy and it looked so good! Anyone who goes here has to try the French toast though!! Our family started coming here regularly because the food is soooo good and the service is great! I love the Caprese and Golden State eggs benedicts! And you can't go wrong with the Crunchy French Toast either! We haven't had any negative experiences during our time coming here and Molly is one of the best servers around. She is attentive, plans ahead (we have three kids who split several things and she knew to bring extra plates without me asking!), and has a cheery disposition. Our youngest (a 2 year old) spilled her orange juice all over the table and Molly came to the rescue right away! I would highly recommend getting the Broken Yolk app so you can earn coupons towards the purchase of your meal. It's a good deal! read more

Fantastic Breakfast with Stellar Service at Broken Yolk Café Had a great Friday vacation breakfast at Broken Yolk and couldn't be happier with the experience! The food was excellent--went with the El Fuego omelet, which delivered on its name with a fiery kick from the jalapeños. Patti opted for the feta avocado toast with poached eggs, a fresh and satisfying choice. To top it off, she had an iced latte, which was smooth and refreshing. What truly made the meal standout, though, was the service. Our server, Will, was fantastic attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. We stopped in with a group of 7 on a Tuesday morning. It was the end of our week long trip to California and we wanted one last meal together before getting on our planes and heading back to real life. This place was exactly what we needed. A large menu with plenty of classic breakfast and lunch options, but plenty of quirky fun twists. The beverage menu was super big and offered everything we could want. From matcha lattes to fresh juice to smoothies. Our food arrived hot and fresh, no mistakes. Everything was tasty and portions were generous. The prices were great and honestly they could charge more for the quality of food they serve. We will definitely be back next year. read more

I would also give it a well-deserved 5-star rating. The staff were incredibly friendly, courteous, and attentive throughout my meal.
