He wasn't that stereotypical used car salesman so me and my baby daddy left the dealership feeling good. We felt good because we contributed to the economy of the Bronx and we felt that way until recently. My son's father went to Honda to set up a time to get the second oil change promised when we purchased our car. Two oil changes guaranteed in a sign agreement with Bronx Honda when the car was purchased. Well when my children's father went for the second oil change "Honda of the Bronx" tried to renege on the agreement because Bronx Honda doesn't exist anymore. We bought the car when it was Bronx Honda. The Honda dealership in the Bronx is at the same location E. Tremont Avenue is now Honda of the Bronx. As a Harlemite but with roots in the Bronx I'm like really? I'm looking at the manager and I'm wondering if he thinks I'm a fool and that I will accept the change of name of the Honda dealership in the Bronx as a reason to not honor the contract made in good faith. The oil change is not the only contract they tried to renege on. We bought a service contract for $2500 and the manager said no to that too. A lot could be said about this less than savory experience we had but I'll say this we got the oil change but the service contract I'm waiting to speak to a representative at Honda headquarters. Honestly had a really good experience trading in our car and leasing a new one today. Unfortunately, we were there for a pretty long time because all the processing took a while. (Not sure if that's standard or not, but that's the reason I knocked my rating down a star because by the end I was pretty antsy to leave.) But overall, the employees were all very friendly and Adonis was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions (we had a lot). He definitely helped us find the best option for our situation. It seems the new management has done this place well because we definitely did not have a bad experience. Almost felt bad about the review I'm going to leave but after seeing the rest of these reviews.. it's time to scrap the whole dealership and start fresh! This summer I was car shopping, traveling to a few different dealerships to get some prices and compare. I connected with Angel from Bronx Honda who I have nothing bad to say about.. however, his manager was truly awful. Angel was very friendly and let me test drive the specific Civic I came to look at which I saw they had in stock. After sitting down with him and crunching the numbers, his manager came over and tried to strong-arm me into buying the car that day when I wasn't happy with the numbers. He was literally telling me, "you want this car, you came here specifically for this car, so you want to leave here with this car for today because it might not be here tomorrow." They weren't willing to budge at all on the price and he wasn't even willing to lock in the "discount" he was offering me because supposedly they would be able to sell the car that weekend if I didn't snatch it up. Well, that didn't happen, because Angel reached out again after the weekend. Honestly after the experience I had I wouldn't go back unless the new price was generously adjusted, which it wasn't. It took several hours in the Dealership to finally get that information after which I left. The representative could have told me that information over the phone and I could have just visited the dealership when it became available. On top of the fact that they made me wait 7 hours to be seen by a financial advisor the sale's person states that he wont even show me a car if i don't commit to buy the car. I clearly stated i wanted to pay no more that 19k and they somehow got me into a loan for 28k. Not even close to what i wanted to pay. By the end when they exhausted me is when they break down the real price. I regretted this from the minute i sat down with this salesperson. I now have a problem with the service and parts location claiming that parts are new when they are not and when i go back to the dealer i get the worst customer service i've ever received in my life from both managers at the dealer. expecting me to be calm when i been reaching out for months looking for compensation. The one manager name sean asked that i leave his office because I was upset that he never followed up regarding the issue i had back in may and had no choice but to dispute the charges because the quality and customer service was unacceptable. I was in contact with someone and the conversation fell short soon after. It's terrible to think that this is how they treat blacks, Latinos, and even women. I was rushed and pretty much scammed into giving more money for absolute no reason After getting my car I noticed I never received an owners manual. I reached out via email several times and even stopped by. Nothing could be done. For months!! Each time I went I was never directly addressed. They always addressed my Fiancé. This happened at least three times to the point that finally my fiancé told them they shouldn't be addressing him. They should address the person speaking. The person who purchased the vehicle. Which was me. it was so disappointing to be there. It completely ruined my first experience at getting my very own car. I have never in my life experienced a place where not only do they treat you different because of race. But because of sexuality. I will never again set foot at bronx Honda. I leased a car for the 1st time from Bronx Honda this past November (November 2019) and it was uneventful. The sales person (Steven) was good, and there really wasn't much to share. Nothing worth writing a good or bad review about. Now fast forward 2 months when I get a parking ticket for an expired registration. It turns out that when they submitted my registration for a new car, they decided to use my previous registration that would expire in 2 months. I have been leasing a car every 3 years for the last 21 years, and never has the previous dealerships that I've been to, had done that. It never occurred to me to check the expiration date. Which in the end was my responsibility, but I only check the address and spelling of my name based on my prior experiences when leasing a car. When going to Bronx Honda for assistance today (January 2020) the salesperson was attempting to be helpful, even mentioning that this was not the norm, and he didn't want to lose my business over this, so he would work on getting it resolved. He cane back to me with the manger named Jersey, who proceeded to tell me that they would do nothing to correct it and that I was on my own. Let's be clear that most dealerships are the same and that it comes down to the little things that separates them from other dealerships. I had a good experience buying an Accord from Bronx Honda recently. I got a quote from them quickly over the phone for the car I wanted, which they had in stock even though it's a special color. Their very first quote was the lowest of the four dealerships I spoke to, more than $1000 lower than two of them, and listed as a great price by various websites that track average prices paid nationally plus dealer invoice prices. After that I just called them back, made an appointment to go in and finish the deal, went there and two hours later drove away in my new car. Everyone was very nice. They probably could have given me more for my trade-in but it wasn't a lowball offer so I took it. I made the mistake of thinking a Honda dealership would be trustworthy. Listen to the reviews and stay away from Bronx Honda!!! I initially found an used car I was interested in on their site and contacted them for a quote and test drive on a Sunday. On Sunday, I called them beforehand to make sure my car would be there, and they said it was. However, when I got there, the salesperson told me the car was actually in the auto shop, and I wouldn't be able to test drive it until Friday. Friday comes, and they call to tell me I'll have to wait into Tuesday instead. On Tuesday, I test drive the car and go through all the steps of buying the car, getting registration, and making the whole payment in cash. I've been primarily talking with the salesperson Drake Taveras. It gets to the point where Drake is even putting the license plates on the car when the manager Alex Alexander tells us the car has already been sold that morning, before I arrived. Somehow, during the 2-3 hours I've been there in the process of buying this car, no one ever knew that the car had already been sold. It is beyond belief that a company could be so incompetent with such a huge communication error. At this point, I was very frustrated and just wanted a car so I ended up buying a different car that I had also looked into. I negotiated with Alex to get a better deal, especially given their huge mistake. They promised to detail the car, because they wanted it "perfect" for me. Up until now, Drake had been trying to help me and he was also frustrated by this miscommunication. He assured me that I didn't need to waste money on an inspection because the car had gone through a "125 point inspection" by Honda. Next time, I won't trust any salesperson or dealership on their word. The "full detailing" they had done was only a simple external car wash. There were still crumbs left near the hand brake and the interior was still very dusty. The AC didn't even work, only blowing outside air, despite their "inspection." When I contacted Drake, he said they would fix the AC if I brought it to the Honda Service. At the service center, they said the AC was indeed broken. They would need to order a condenser, and I would have to leave my car overnight to fix it. I also attempted to contact Drake (via phone, text, and email) multiple times over 5 days, but at this point, he stopped responding to me, so I called Alex directly. He said they would re-detail my car and reimburse me for all the Uber trips I needed to take due to their mistakes. I understand that some of these issues were not their fault directly, but at the end of the day, they should be checking these things and are ultimately responsible. They should not be trying to sell a car that has already been sold nor selling a car with broken AC. They made an attempt to remedy the situation by fixing the AC and offering a reimbursement. However, it took a great deal of effort to have anything get done. It took multiple e-mails and phone calls before I finally received my check over 6 weeks later. I understand Drake tried and may have been limited in what he could do as a salesperson, but Alex was the manager and provided terrible customer service. Listen and take heed to the reviews written about how you will be treated by the staff. Read the letter someone attached. I should have. Personally, I would NEVER lease or buy from this place. I have been leasing for many many years. This is the first time that I sat down to work out the terms of a lease and the salesperson writes info on a piece of paper and not a sales agreement form. Each time we visited the showroom (2x), we had to sit around for over an hour while the sales person walked to and from their desk checking on numbers. WTF?! Why not just let us meet with the person feeding you these numbers since it appears that you're just a figure head. This salesperson didn't even have the wherewithal to tell us exactly how much to bring when we were coming to pick up the car. If I'm a salesperson, I believe I would be better prepared to give the customer the ultimate experience. I just think Professionalism 101 should teach sales staff to respect your customers time and intelligence. Treat ALL customers the way you wish to be treated. We just want to get the car and go. So after another round of talking, our salesperson tmwalks us over to the finance guy's office. The only thing he did was to markup the amount of the monthly lease payment--period. He too didn't have a sales agreement. WTF is wrong with these people. Finance dude and the salesperson didn't have the decency, professionalism or sales acumen to provide us with the car's warranty however get this-- finance guy certainly tried to up sell additional "in case" coverage. In case? In case I need a new tire replaced? In case I need a new windshield? So I should spend an additional $2700 over the course of 3 years so that I can get a new tire or fix a crack in my windshield? Puh-lese. I don't live in a war zone or on a construction site. I have full coverage, AAA and AARP and have designated parking. Why can't you Just tell me about the warranty? After this upsale, we again had to go back to the salesperson desk to do what? WAIT over an additional hour. We just sat and waited. Just more bullsh^t. Their actions are already showing me that they don't respect me. This experience was BAD and the wait time was BAD. I got the impression that they are used to treating customers as if they are doing the customers a favor. Even if some customers do not have stellar credit, you should NOT treat them poorly. When we were waiting I noticed that the customers and staff looked like people of color. The service provided to us was less than stellar. I respect myself and so for people who look like me to provide me with sh^tty service speaks volumes about their own sense of self. What I experienced certainly taught me that this is NOT a place for me to lease my next vehicle. I'm used to leasing with people who respect a customer's need to save money while the customer takes into consideration the need for the business to make money. In short, a place where we meet in the middle in order to hash out a deal. The funny part is that it was our intent to lease 2 vehicles but they act as if they are doing you a favor. The amount of time taken to lease a vehicle is absurd (over 3 hours). This is 2023--it ain't brain surgery. Get out the sales agreement and write down your numbers. Periodt. Nope. Never again. Unfortunately I was unable to sway the relative to not deal with these people but on a side note this dealership lost 3 customers. The person who leased will not be a returning customer; the 2nd lease we were intending to do will not happen and myself, who's lease will be coming to an end in December. I will stick to dealerships that I find more reputable and respectful. Good luck to anyone who goes there. Tips: 1. know your credit score before hand(bring a copy if you can--its free to get your credit score--just Google how to get my credit score 2. If leasing, you DON'T need additional "in case" coverage. 3. Get everything in writing on a Sales agreement before leaving a deposit. 4. Ask how much you will need to bring with you on the day you plan to pick up the vehicle. 5. Ask for a copy of the warranty and have them explain to you what it means. This place overcharged me 10K for a Honda Accord 2015. They had me waiting 7hrs to see a financier as a tactic so they could take advantage of me. I tried to contact them the next day once I noticed the oversight on my behalf and they never responded. I would recommend paragon Honda in Queens. They place is run by scammers! This is a review to amend a previous review in which I gave this particular Honda dealership 1 star. Well, I'm still only giving this place 1 star. But first, there's something I need to say: Peter, the dealer in which we leased our Accord from, isn't the problem here. He's actually ridiculously helpful and has been nothing short of kind to us. He's helped us get our car quickly and with little hassle and has handled all the negotiations very professional. We NEED more people like Peter at this dealership. In fact, if I could rate specific dealers here on Yelp, Peter would receive 5 stars for how amazing he has been to us. DO NOT use Peter as a scapegoat. ---------------- With that said, the 1 star review I am giving is not based on Peter's performance (which has been great) but it actually reflects this dealership, its service, management, and how terrible its customer service truly is. Today we got a particularly nasty call from the General Manager... This guy called and yelled--actually yelled--at us for giving them a bad review before and told us off to never come back to their dealership again. I'm writing this review cause it definitely needs to be said. This dealership has the worst service I've ever encountered. I wanted to upgrade my current lease with another cry but with more features, I did drop in early before termination so I know I had to drop some cash. I drop six g"s and they didn't even offer me any free oil changes. Then after the purchase from the salesmen up to the financial manager took over a week and a half just to give my insurance the bill of sale. They drop it in the glove compartment and didn't tell me. Then they didn't even have and up to date owners manual that's supposed to be in the glove box. I had to call multiple times just to speak with the salesmen just to get the Manuel. The Manuel is date for 2018 instead of 19. The worst unorganized dealership I've ever dealt with. read more

Bronx Honda needs to go out of business. My husband and I visited this establishment when I was 7 months pregnant in search of a new car. We walked in and was greeted by NO ONE....ok fine. We continued to walk around the showroom looking at all the minivans. Still NO SALESPERSON. We explored minivans... opening the doors/trunk...trying out the driver seat..still NO HELP! We proceeded to walk/waddle outside to see the rest of the cars and still NO ONE asked if we needed help. The entire 30 minutes we spent in the showroom NO ONE HELPED US! There were plenty of sales people walking around. One was even on his cellphone in one of the cars! My husband and I left fed up and purchased our 2016 Honda Odyssey from Honda New Rochelle. In New Rochelle, we were greeted at the door and offered something to drink! Hint salespeople of Bronx Honda: a pregnant women is an easy sale...her family is growing and she'll need more cargo room. read more

I have to give absolute thanks to NANCI over at Bronx Honda. All i have to say is WOW! From point A to point B she was AMAZING! She makes you feel welcomed and comfortable, no pressure, gave us options and worked with us as if she was the one purchasing. She made it work and happen. We were not planning to purchase a car today, just wanted to hear numbers. Tried contacting a Betsy Vargas regarding a price quote. I was able to speak with her a few times, each time she said there would be an email sent with pricing. After a few calls, numerous text messages and emails, I still have not received anything. I can only assume that they do not actually want to sell cars. Either way, I have moved on to another dealership and you should too.
