My experience with Middletown, NY Honda began almost two years ago when I DESPERATELY needed a vehicle. Having not been in the market for a car for over 15 years, I was overwhelmed with the prospect! Needless to say, from Osei in sales to Mike in finance and the AMAZING Service Crew, Anthony and Emily--to name a few--this dealership made having to purchase a vehicle PAINLESS!! More recently, they were able to help (in yet another desperate situation) get my 'first time buyer' son into an affordable and reliable Honda!! I cannot thank Osei, Mike, Hayden and all the others enough for their expeditious and accommodating service!! Even still, when I go in for scheduled maintenance, Anthony, Emily and the whole crew get me in and out quickly and always try to find any discounts that apply to my service. I've never experienced a business try to make me out to be a fool so much in my life. This Honda dealership I'm sure is trying to run a scam on folks who may not be as aware of vehicular matters as others. I brought my 2018 Honda CR-V to them in February for a recall involving the fuel pump and seat belt latches, but they didn't have the seat belt latches at the time. While it was there, they called to tell me there was also a warranty on the AC compressor shaft seal. Fine, they took care of that as well. When I went to pick up my car the next day, all was fine until I looked at the breakdown of what needs to be replaced according to the dealership. They said my tires tread were under 3/32nds of an inch, and needed to be replaced. I had just replaced the tires in January, and I told them this. Not much of a response from them about that. The breakdown also said I needed almost all of my oils changed (trans, rear diff, etc) of course at quite the premium. Jump to April, they call to tell me they have the seat belt latches, so I brought my car in for that. This is when it goes downhill. I told them my AC wasn't working, and it was working before I had the car in their shop in February. Turns out there was a wire broken on the pressure switch sensor. I asked them to send a picture. When they did, it looked in the picture like the wire had been cut, not "broken". They told me they would'nt need any parts to fix it, but it was going to cost about $580 to fix it. I fixed it myself in about 15 mins at home, after waiting for the new pressure switch connector in the mail. Costed me $15 and 15 mins of work. I don't understand how 15 mins of work amounts to $580. I also found a bracket that connects the AC Compressor to the engine missing the single bolt to the engine. When they gave me the breakdown of what my car needed this time, a lot of things they said I needed in February were not needed this time in April, despite not having been done. They also said my tires tread were all at 7/32nds of an inch. I've never heard of rubber "growing" back. They did replace the seatbelt latches, but when I got in my car I found that the plastic pieces that cover the mounting hardware for the latches were on the floor at my feet. This isn't the biggest deal, but very unprofessional, as is the bracket bolt missing. Overall, I figure they could try to pull a fast one on me, possibly cutting my wire for an expensive quick fix, as well as the tires that were brand new. A job that would've been in the range of 1500 for maybe an hour of work. Sounds convenient to make a fast buck for a little work. I wouldn't recommend this Honda dealership to my enemy. If I could give it zero stars I would. This may not happen to everyone, but I'm sure it's not just me they tried to scam. read more

My last encounter with their HORRIBLE sevice department rep SHANE was several months ago. I bought my 2019 accord sedan in multiple times only to be told "they" couldn't find anything wrong. I even went as far to video the noise my car was making when I put it in reverse. Less than a week after my last "lackluster service" for the same noises, my accord broke down on the highway. After taking it to another "Honda" I learned that the transmission needed to be replaced. I left several messages for "SHANE" never getting a return call. Repair people have no clue at diagnostics. Sales, when they are done with you, they are DONE with you. You will have to go in person and invade the place to try and see anyone. The most unbelievable experience of my life. We are a military family and have bought and sold many cars in many places all over the US, but this experience has really been one to share. Our family purchased a Honda Pilot this week - signed purchase agreement, funding already sent to dealership, money already taken out of our account to hold the vehicle. Our salesperson, Osei, stated after evaluating our trade-in a second time with an "actual mechanic", they realized our vehicle was not FWD and that wouldn't work for them as "we just assumed it was 4WD - it wasn't apparent it wasn't" and they would have to revise the deal. Let me reiterate paperwork had already been agreed to and signed by us and sales manager Josh Latorre, and funding from our bank already sent. The General Manager was conveniently in a meeting and unable to speak with us about any of this, but Josh met with us and instead of accountability or an "I'm really sorry we messed up and dropped the ball, this should NOT have happened" it was instead, "yeah, we can't take a $6,000 loss. This is a for-profit business. You didn't tell US about this." The blame for all of this naturally is ours, as not a single person took accountability but instead passed the blame off to another person. So here we are, patiently waiting for all our money to be sent back to us. So be warned - this is a FOR PROFIT business only. They will not honor agreements, put your needs above theirs, or at the very least even take accountability. Incompetence at this level, involving people's hard-earned money, is borderline criminal. I needed a car immediately as my temporary car was not doing well. I traded the temporary car for a CRV Hybrid Sport L. Before my temporary car i had a CRV so i was familiar with the old and liking the new features that old one never had: lane detection, keyfob, navigator screen, hybrid engine. It drives very quietly on battery. I did 3- year lease w buying option. Surprising i was able to drive off the lot w new car which was very cool! The biggest problem came week after when they called me tosay they wrote my VIN number wrong and submitted the change to DMV which messed up my insurance card. I get a letter from DMV saying that i had an insurance lapse as a result of this data change and they will suspend my plates and registration in mid next month unlees pay fine. Although to fix this requires the insurance company to to change it electronically, the dealership did not do me any favors. So for the adjustment to be made by my insurance to DMV; it takes 3 business days. So now its just a wait and see next week. I have yet to hear a call from the dealership (i left two messages) and thats fine by me; they cant fix it. The insurance company has to do it. read more

After being a loyal customer since 2019 here I am, disgusted by Middletown Honda. I purchased my Honda (and two other Hondas) from this dealership since 2019. We have all our vehicles service there. A few days ago I caught a flat tire but I was in the Bx. I took it to the nearest dealership to have the flat fixed. To my surprise I was told my front brakes needed to be done and my back tires were at a 3. I didn't understand how this was possible since I had JUST passed inspection (and had an oil change) two weeks ago and none of this was mentioned. Additionally, the tires were purchased, literally, 8 months ago and I have barely driven 24K miles on these new tires since then. In addition there were other items on my vehicle that need attention. I contacted Middletown Honda and was pretty much dismissed by the person on the phone. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that wasn't possible and that the sales rep who sold me the tires would be contacting me. Of course the rep never called me but I did email the dealership's top supervisor. I also scheduled for them to look at my vehicle in person for Friday at 5pm. Later that day I received an email from a different supervisor who stated that I could not be seen on Friday and for me to pick a different time/date. I eventually got to the dealership Sat morning and the manager on duty didn't even take my car to the back to check the tires/breaks. He basically glanced over my tires, confirmed that they were at a 3 and then asked "what would I like for them to do?" I replied nothing, as I no longer trusted them. I don't know what happened to this dealership but this experience was straight TRASH! Customer service was TRASH! I am currently getting my car serviced somewhere else and they're showing me little things that were never addressed by Middletown Honda that SHOULD HAVE been addressed or at least brought to my attention. This is the WORST Honda I have ever visited. Their customer service is NONEXISTENT But the worst part, is the feeling that you have been ripped off. I went there for repairs and never got straight answers just 2 bills for almost $1100 along with 2 visits and many calls later they supposedly aimed my radar for $700 and changed something on my back wheel for $400 No one explained anything. I have had my Honda Civic since late 2017 and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately today Middletown Honda ruined the customer service experience for me. I dropped my car off for an inspection at 10am on 3/31/25. When I picked my car up at 4pm the same day there was a huge 6 inch crack in my windshield right in my line of sight that was not there at 10am when I dropped it off. I brought this to their attention and the service manager came to speak with me, she showed me footage of the car at 12:09pm when they brought the car in for service with the crack in the windshield but couldn't show me a good angle of the car when I brought it in at 10am. Nor could she show me footage from 10am-12:09pm. Refused to help in any way or take responsibility for this mishap. All would have been good if they just owned up to it and replaced the windshield. My car has approximately 150k miles on it and I am due for a new car soon. A few years back, I worked with Marlon Maurasse to purchase my first Honda (that didn't have a cutting deck) - he was extremely knowledgeable about the car I was interested in, and worked tirelessly to get me the best deal on that 2018 Honda Civic Si. No pressure here, no hard sell, zero complaints as a customer. Post purchase, he followed up to make sure I was happy with my new car (which I was, very). I only ever brought the car back for regular oil changes and tire rotations - from check-in (online) through drop-off and pick-up it was a smooth and quick transaction. Excellent job on washing the car and cleaning it after the service as well! When it came time for me to upgrade, I immediately emailed Marlon once more and yet again - he was on point in answering all my questions and addressing any concerns I had in regard to the 2019 Honda Civic Type R that I was interested in. I did look at another dealership for a second opinion, but they simply couldn't compare as far as service and price. I also had the pleasure of working with Jami Potis, the Delivery Coordinator at Middletown Honda. She made sure all my paperwork was in order, confirmed that the car was configured how I requested, and also showed a wealth of knowledge in explaining the features of my new Type R. What an outstanding experience! Of all the dealerships and staff I've worked with over the years, Middletown Honda has far and away exceeded every expectation I could have had. I have been a Honda owner for over 20 years and I am looking to trade in my cross tour for a new model. When I arrived, a man at the office to the right of the front door, first desk on the left, asked me if I need help. I said I am interested in the insight, he simply replied we are sold out. I looked around the showroom and he approached me (never gave his name) and said yup, we are sold out. He then turned and walked away from me. I tried to give another opportunity starting that I am looking to trade in my cross tour for another model and he didn't reply, just dismissed me and went back to his desk. They said it was fine but it wasn't. I took it to another mechanic. They said Honda put the wrong oil. They changed my oil and the car is fine. update to my previous review: they did not do what was asked in how the car was to be titled and the registration looks as though it was running out of ink. now I have to go to dmv to fix there mess and it's costing me more not only in money but also my time and I know what I asked could have been done the way it needed to as Toyota did it for me when I purchased my first car years ago. The Honda crv vehicle I bought from Honda this time could have been done just like my Toyota as Honda said it would but apparently they don't believe in following through and doing what's promised. Majority of the reviews here were bad reviews. My experience... Came in for an oil change albeit no appointment, got in will have to wait 2 hrs. Only fair for someone with no appointment. As you pull in through the garage, you have to drive over their sensor speed bump, the one that tells you have low your thread tires are and if your alignment is off. Well apparently I needed an alignment even though I recently changed my tires this summer and the wheels where aligned this year. As the rep mentioned my needed service, I pointed out the nubby rubber stubs in the side of my wheels indicating that my wheels were still new. Sitting room is large, plenty of seats, complementary coffee. Free multipoint inspection - recommend change for the car's mileage... Do not bring your car here for service!! I went to this site after multiple alerts on my dashboard suddenly lit up. I will say that pulling into the site was simple and they did put protective plastic on my steering wheel during Covid. (Although I'm sure that's an all Honda standard.) When I sign in I'm told there will be a $99 fee to diagnose the problem. I've never heard of that before, but I paid it by credit card. I walked around outside for 2.5 hours with no updates. I return to the dealership use the restroom. Having never been there before, I wasn't sure where they were located. I stood in front of a girl in scheduling for service waiting to be acknowledged. She was very busy on her cell phone. After about two minutes of her not noticing me, I ask where the restroom is. She seemed annoyed, grunted and pointed in its direction. When I finish using the restroom I ask her where I can sit. Annoyed with me again, she said "sit wherever you want". The service waiting area was pretty crowded and I didn't feel comfortable due to Covid. I politely asked her if I could sit near the sales area. She responded in the most rude tone "MA'AM!! I said you can sit wherever you want!" After a total of 3.5 hours of waiting they finally have an update. There's a broken sensor. Can they fix it? Nope. Honda doesn't have a Honda part in stock. I schedule an appointment for 2 weeks later. The total will be $330. They also try to talk me into other things that "should be" done to my car, such as fluid changes. My car has 30,000 miles and was inspected by my regular mechanic eight weeks prior. I don't need any other work. In between appointments #1 and #2 my work schedule changes. I call Honda to see if we could get the job done under 2 hours. Of course I get the same rude service girl. I explain the situation to her. After pulling up my account, she asks me what I'm having done to the car. SHE works in service and is looking at MY upcoming appointment and is asking ME what THEY are doing? That really should've been a red flag. I do my best to explain & she puts me on hold to ask. She comes back and says they can get it done in an hour and a half. I ask she please note it. Day of appointment #2: I drop my car on time & remind the service guy I need to be on the road in 2 hours. He says it's no problem. Again, I walk around the area. After an hour & a half I get a voicemail saying they have an update. I walk back to the dealership to be told that they will need a "few more hours" because the part they ordered is "rusty". He goes on to explain that they can use the rusty part, but they need specialized drills to install it. Something with the angle. Lol. I'm going to guess that he never ordered the part. I make a third appointment for another two weeks. The guy in service says he'll order a new part right away & inspect it for defects when it comes in. He will have it in 4 days. He promises to call me so I know for sure that the part is ready for my third appointment. He never called. A week later I get automated phone calls & texts reminding me of my upcoming appointment...on the WRONG day! I call the guy in service and leave him a message telling him I'm really annoyed and to please call me. He didn't call me. The next day I called the main service number and ask for a supervisor. I was told the supervisor would call me before the end of the day. They didn't call me. I call the next day and ask for a supervisor again. Rude service girl transfers me to the guy that screws everything up. He said he was sorry about the mixup. I told him I was done and I want my refund of $99. After that, I continue to get multiple automated calls reminding me of my wrong date appointment, followed by messages about the appointment that I "missed". ‍ In the end, I went to my regular mechanic. They diagnosed the issue in a half hour, had the part from Honda in 3 days, and did the repair in 45 minutes. They charged me $100 less for the work and not a cent to diagnose it. I wish I had just gone to them in the first place. I did get my $99 refund, by check, 2 weeks later. I had to make a trip to my bank to deposit it. In my opinion they should have also paid me for the 7 hours I spent driving back and to them and waiting on them to do nothing . Never, ever again. read more

When I drive my car in for service I get no acknowledgment by the advisors. When they do speak to me it's like being spoken to by a miserable teenager. I was told it would take 1 hour for my car to get a repair for a factory recall. I was told it would take 1 to 2 hours . I returned only to be told that it would be another hour, or quite a while as the attendant put it. This was on a 90 degree plus day. I am greatly disappointed with a totally non-responsive, overly greedy, and superbly over-rated sales team at Middletown Honda. On April 9, 2021, I gave these folks a call after reviewing an advertised used vehicle on Capital One website. I needed a car ASAP and I was a motivated buyer after losing my vehicle as a total loss.  A young lady of Dominican descent named Tatiana, ( I think that was her name), answered my call and stated that the vehicle that was decided on was still available.  I asked if it were possible to purchase and get the vehicle on the same day.  Initially, she indicated that various options had to be discussed prior to any consummation of any vehicle.  I "mistakenly" stated that I was pre-approved with Capital One and all I needed was for a credit application to be submitted to them.  After learning that I was preapproved with Capital One, she exasperatedly exhaled on the phone and stated that I should come in. After arrival at their saleroom, I was greeted by the salesperson named above who then attempted to talk me away from Capital One Auto purchase program. When I couldn't be swayed, she introduced me to Sean B. Curtin, the sales manager who mockingly gestured that "I could do better than Capital One."  He submitted without my authorization several credit applications with other banks including Teachers Credit Union, Valley National Bank, and JP Morgan Chase resulting in multiple "hard-Pulls" on my credit report. As I was sitting on their sales floor, my cell phone was vibrating incessantly from the credit score company that I am a member of.  Shortly thereafter and frustratedly, he gave me his business card and stated that "I should give him a call" on the following Monday or Tuesday to complete the processing for the vehicle. After not receiving a call or a text from this team, I drove out to Enterprise used car sales and purchased a more recent dated vehicle for several thousand dollars less, less mileage than the one that I was interested in purchasing from Middletown Honda, used my preapproved low-interest credit from Capital One and drove out with my new vehicle within one hour of arrival with very little fanfare. Remember folks, car salespeople are not in the business to sell you a car.  They are literally in the finance business.  If they could strong-arm you into a vehicle with even 1 % higher interest than the lowest offer from a preapproved bank, they reap a huge contract windfall against you where you will be needlessly paying big time over the term of your contract. You see when I wouldn't diverge from Capital One financing who offered me a great APR of 3.4% on a used vehicle with my credit score, I acknowledged that Middletown Honda couldn't beat this rate and I stood firm.  Middletown Honda on the other hand still has their used Honda with protracted milage on their lot and I get to keep the huge savings in my pocket.  Thank you Middletown Honda for revealing your ostentatious greed, clandestine unpermissible maneuvering, and terrible business mantra. read more

To preface this, our families have been loyal Acura and Honda customers for many years. I myself own a rare 2011 Acura RL which I've cherished. Our faith in Honda is now down the drain due to the following *horrific* experience. The intro: My fiancé's A/C abruptly stopped working (2017 Civic purchased brand new from this same dealer) this past Summer, which as you can imagine is a pretty big inconvenience on 90+ degree/1 hour+ long commutes. I personally was recovering from throat surgery at the time and could barely speak, let alone leave the house, so my fiancé took her car to this same Middletown dealership hoping they would fix this under our extended warranty. I looked over the warranty extensively, it covers many things as long as they are "manufacturer defects". Side note: this warranty cost us over $1,500 at the time of purchase and this Civic had under 60,000 miles at the time of the A/C failure. The issue: When she brought the car in and paid the $110 diagnostic fee, they told her the A/C condensor was punctured by a rock and this would not be covered under warranty. Would cost over $900 to fix. Even in my state of recovery, I got on the phone and tried to discuss this with the service technician. He wouldn't budge and insisted our expensive warranty wouldn't cover this in any way. Not willing to work with us even a hair. The resolution: We brought the car to Newburgh Honda who charged $0 for a diagnostic fee and promptly informed us that the condensor was "porous" and many 2017 civics had this design issue from the factory. We even had a 3rd party mechanic look at the condensor when it was removed, and surprise surprise, no punctures! It was fixed for no charge under warranty. The aftermath: Obviously, we didn't like being lied to and taken advantage of, so we went back to Middletown Honda to politely ask them to rectify this. Personally, all I was looking for was an apology and a refund for our completely bogus $110 diagnostic fee. It took us 4 tries to speak with the service manager since they kept brushing us off trying to offer $110 in dealership credit with no discussion. Eventually when we finally got to meet with the service manager, she was extremely rude and dismissive. Very argumentative when we were calm and collected. I told her multiple times that we aren't mad and aren't trying to make a big deal of things, but would like to know what can be done so we could continue our patronage. It was clear she was trying to shift all blame onto us ("you didn't give me a chance to personally inspect it", "if the other dealership wants to lie and fix your car that's their prerogative", etc.). I've never seen such a dishonest and abhorrent service department, and I have to assume that they tried this scam on us because we're relatively young customers. We left with no apology, and $110 only in dealer credit as this manger would not work with us or own up to her department's mistake. Needless to say we promptly used up the credit just to be done with this dealership. The icing on the cake? We just received a letter today from Honda describing a recall for the A/C condensor on her model. Wouldn't you know it, they're defective! Conclusion: Do NOT go to this dealership for any reason, they will try to rip you off royally and then retaliate if you're able to avoid their scam. We even gave them a second chance and were treated like idiots, that'll teach us to give people the benefit of the doubt! Would rate 0 stars if I could, and certainly will not be buying Honda products ever again. read more

We've been a customer for the past 6 years. We've bought 2 cars and leased 2. I've only had excellent experience with Ryan in sales. He's knowledgeable, he follows up and makes sure things are done right. In the service department, lately I've been lucky enough to work with Shane, who's been terrific. He gives me feedback and the service is generally done when he said it would. So far I haven't had a major repair, but services have gone fine and I haven't been charged for anything I wasn't told about up front. The service center is clean, you can practically eat off their floor. You no longer need to go to a cashier to check out. If you are paying by credit card you can check out from the customer service rep's desk. They usually give you a free car wash as well. I have 2 complaints - I've waited over 2 hours for oil changes, although it's been better lately. Also they don't understand how to use email and texting. I get deluged with reminders and notices on both text and email. The contacts are related to a service, not misc spam, but it's still annoying. read more
