These bagels are legit-crusty exterior and nice chewy interior. I ordered two everything and one sesame bagel with cake batter cream cheese frosting. The bagels are on the smaller side. The prices are steep but you're paying for designer bagels.

Good to know: there's a three-bagel minimum. The cream cheese portion is generous, so much that you'll likely have leftovers to take home. There weren't any sweet cream cheese options (at the time of this review), which was a bit disappointing. The bagels are good, but not so good that I'd wait in a long line for them. They're a bit on the small side, with a thin, crusty exterior and a chewy interior. There's no indoor seating, just a small, chest-height bar to stand at (no stools). Outside, there are a few additional standing bars of varying heights (also no seating). There are also a few picnic-style tables nearby that appear to belong to the restaurant next door. The service was fast and friendly. I'm glad we tried it, but again, it's not something I'd wait in line for. All in all, three bagels, two spreads, and two lemonades came out to $32.

    Long line but moves efficiently

This new bagel spot on the Beltline definitely lives up to the hype. Please don't be intimidated by the long line - it moves quickly. We got through in 15-20 minutes from the very back on the main path on a Saturday around noon. The bagel is crispy on the outside with a super fluffy inside. There is a 3 bagel minimum per order. They're incredibly efficient like Chick-fil-A with attendants in line to help you pre-order before you pay inside. We got 2 everything bagels, 1 salt bagel, 4 oz of smoked salmon and a tub of scallion smear. It was all so fresh and delicious. There's a decent amount of seated or standing eating areas right outside. I'd definitely go here again. It'd pretty legit.

Pop up bagels is fine, but I wouldn't go there if I was craving the "usual" bagel experience. You aren't allowed to buy single bagels with a standard serving of cream cheese... instead, you have to buy multiple bagels and an oversized tub of cream cheese (not cheap, either!). They do have inventive cream cheese flavors, which may be a draw if you're looking for something more experimental. We went on st. Patrick's day weekend, so the special flavor was a chocolate stout cream cheese. Fun, but stick to Emerald city or somewhere else for a more classic experience.

Loved the vibe. From being greeted as I entered, the cute little shop and fresh bagels - such a great experience. The staff were really friendly and explained how the concept works since it was my first time. You pick your bagel and the schemer that comes in a tub. They mentioned the bagels come out fresh every 12 mins. I tried the everything bagel and salt bagel - both were delicious and fresh. There's no inside seating but there are spots outside. And conveniently located on the beltline.

    Salt bagel (5/5)

We got two salt, plain, and everything (5/5). Each of them were amazing right when we got them; hot, crunchy, and soft on the inside! The experience of getting fresh bagels is definitely a memorable one with the best tasting bagels I've had in the moment. However, the magic is definitely in the moment for the bagels. When toasting or reheating them following their instructions, the bagels are still good (4/5), but I've had better. The service is was quick and good (4/5), although we went Tuesday afternoon so definitely off peak.

Weekend line was long but still moved fast! I got the salt, plain and everything with scallion cream cheese. It was a three pack and one schmear combo. The bagels were hot and fluffy! They were so easy to pull apart and dip. The cream cheese was super flavorful and paired well with the bagels. My favorite was definitely the everything! Overall, will definitely be back.

Great bagels! I've been hearing rave reviews about Popup Bagels, both from friends in ATL and from friends where it exists in other cities. I decided to come check it out and here are my thoughts! I got the Everything and Salt bagel - both were very good! Popup bagels to me feel lighter on the inside, and crispier on the outside. Normal bagels to me feel like bready on the inside, hard on the outside. Their pricing model is that the minimum purchase is 3 bagels (it comes with a small container of schmear). Originally, I truly only did want to buy one bagel, but I'm not mad about having leftovers. I was a bit surprised that they don't sell any sweet bagels (blueberry, strawberry, cinnamon raisin, etc.) but they also don't really sell any sweet schmears either. I went with the Mila Carmelized Scallion schmear (limited edition), but I've heard that the regular scallion one is really good! This location is ON the beltline, aka you have to walk on the beltline to access, you can't just drive in. There may be closer parking, but I parked near Krog Market and walked over, it's like a 5 minute walk. Staff was friendly and answered my many questions on what was popular and what their personal favorites were.

I've been hearing about this place since before i moved to Massachusetts and back to ATL and finally got to experience it. The minimum amount of bagels you can order is three and it comes with one of their cream cheese schmears, every additional cream cheese schmear is seven dollars. The bagels were hot/very fresh and the cream cheese were well made. They're so big you can bring the cream cheese home and use it on your store-bought bagels. This is definitely a fun little gimmick, but be prepared to spend some money I spent about $30 after buying three bagels two smears and leaving a tip for the young lady who took our order. They're moving very quickly in there and everyone has a very inviting energy. If you happen to be on the beltline while they're open, you should definitely try it but don't go into this thinking that you're going to spend six or seven bucks and try the new viral bagel shop. Keep in mind this is the beltline so you will have to find your own parking whether that's free or paid. There's ample outdoor seating but nowhere to sit inside. This is a to-go kind of place.

It has quickly become one of my favorite neighborhood breakfast spots. My go-to order is the bacon, egg, and cheese on a classic bagel. The ingredients always taste fresh, the bacon is flavorful, and the egg is consistently cooked perfectly. It is a simple sandwich done exceptionally well. During my most recent visit, they were nearly sold out of several bagel options, including my usual classic bagel. I was disappointed because I had my mind set on my regular order, but one of the employees went out of his way to accommodate me. He offered to use a salted bagel and remove the salt so I could still enjoy my sandwich as close to my usual order as possible. I really appreciated his willingness to help rather than simply telling me they were out. The service has always been friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Even when they are busy or running low on inventory, the staff still makes an effort to take care of their customers. It may have taken me four years to finally stop in, but Emerald City Bagels has quickly become a neighborhood favorite. The bacon, egg, and cheese never disappoints, and thoughtful service like I received on my last visit is exactly what keeps people coming back.

Walking in, it was super busy and the line was long, but they moved very fast. It had that classic deli feel with shelves full of fresh bagels, pastries, and a huge breakfast/lunch menu. I ordered an everything bagel toasted with regular cream cheese and lox. We also got a ham & cheese sandwich on the jalapeño cheddar bagel. The only thing that threw me off was the service while ordering. The guy taking my order kept going on his phone during the interaction. I explained that I wanted the nova sandwich style but without the tomato, onion, or capers because I still wanted it closed-face with extra lox instead of the open-face version. He told me, "that's just a weird way to order it," which honestly felt unnecessary. The bagel itself was huge and heavy with a thick shmear of cream cheese. The lox tasted good, although I wish it was layered in slices instead of smaller pieces. Still, it came pretty close to that NY bagel taste I was hoping for. The jalapeño cheddar bagel was actually spicy and packed with jalapeños. We had to take some out, but the sandwich overall was really good. I'd definitely come back and would probably try another location too.

Portions are generous especially for the price, service is consistently solid (though wait times can vary, it's popular!), and with so many locations you can usually find one nearby. They're also great about modifying cooking oils for those of us who prefer olive oil or other healthier options. My go-to is an omelette or the nova scramble, with home fries -- big, crispy potato chunks with sautéed peppers and onions -- plus a side of toast, English muffin, or bagel (or swap for salad or fruit). My husband swears by their latkes, too. Classic, satisfying, and a total win for brunch lovers.

But I definitely had a moment where I had to ask myself if that was a $20 well spent. Bronx Bagel Buggy is a SMALL deli in a middle-American Atlanta neighborhood that might still think it's in NYC. Hate to say it but this is why many southerners are lowkey pissed with the massive migration of northerners down here... I got the Standard (Bacon, Egg, Cheddar) on a rosemary salt bagel. While the bagel was tasty, the inside of the sandwich was not. Limp, soggy bacon. Cheap, McDonald's style egg patty. This sandwich should be $6 at most. The bagel itself was delicious and very well done -- this is clearly where they are putting in the effort and I have no qualms with it. But next time I'd just get the bagel by itself and skip paying more for what felt like not-so-great ingredients. I also got a chai latte with oat milk. Well made, but surely nothing spectacular. Holy cow... $6+ for that, too. Oat milk is an extra $.70. I don't know whether to be disgruntled with the owner or the local/federal taxes that has places charging like this LOL. It honestly just feels excessive, especially for the area it's in (love you Chamblee but I love you especially because you're affordable and not built around pretentiousness). Service was nice and it was clean when I went in. Perhaps the lunch sandwiches are more worth it? I am all here for spending a pretty penny on food but I am lost on this one.
