Days like this make me miss my NY life--and my wheat life! Being gluten-free, a good bagel is a little hard to come by in Atlanta, so I stopped by Brooklyn Bagel after hearing good things about it. I ordered a GF plain bagel with egg, cheese, and pastrami. It came to about $14 and change, which is crazy to me because I apparently still live in the prices-of-the-past era. But hey, everything is expensive, so you either pay or leave. There was no line when I arrived, so I was able to place my order pretty quickly. There's plenty of seating in the dining area, including seats along the window, which is where I waited for my order. Unfortunately, once I opened that sandwich, I reverted right back to being disappointed and pissed. I swear there was one--maybe two--slices of pastrami on that sandwich. They already charge the standard price for a bagel with meat and cheese, and then there's an additional upcharge for pastrami. For that price, I expected a little more meat. I will say, the sandwich was hot and fresh, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. But if (and that's a big if) I go back, I'll skip the meat on my breakfast sandwich. Second time having breakfast at Brooklyn Bagel & Deli; it's a little busy around 10am, however, the service is super efficient, you place your order and it's served quickly. The portion feels perfect for me; there's richness in their cream cheese and bread. This time I also grabbed their overnight oats with chia and it was pretty good in flavor and also portion. Popping in for a lunch on the go it turned out to be a delight! It was toward the end of their shift, but it was easy to discern that they have a full staff ready to handle what I am certain is a very busy lunch crowd. Up on entering, one will notice the various displays of beverages, schmears, small grabs and deli cuts. There's more than ample seating on a clean space. Should one desire, there's also outdoor seating, which is great this time of year. Ordering the New York 3-way on the garlic bagel with the side of potato salad, I was rather expectant that it would be a decent sand. But OH MY... the meat melted like butter, the roasted garlic punch of the bagel - EXCELLENT! Your palate will not want for flavor, that is for certain. Prices listed online were almost 50% lower than real prices in store (which was insanely over priced). When I brought this up to the cashier, they pretty much shrugged it off. I made the commute to try the new viral bagel, I wouldn't have traveled it if I knew it would be so expensive! The bagels are so sweet they genuinely should be classified as a cake, you can also clearly tell the bacon is microwaved. New deli and bagel spot in Cambridge Square across from Blackburn Park in Brookhaven. Nice atmosphere, good menu of sandwiches. They have lots of corned beef options. I went with the Italian Stallion which is a roast beef and turkey. They offer sandwiches in Atlanta size which is a regular size sandwich and Brooklyn size which is larger. I went with the Atlanta size. Sandwich was great. It ran $12 which included a side and I got a large fountain drink for $3. Sandwich was great. Hot and fresh made. I can't wait to try more of the menu. I gave it 4 stars. I stopped by for a quick breakfast today for the first time. I was happy they had turkey sausage because I don't eat pork. I was hoping the person at the front could recommend something but the service left a little more to be desired. She was nice and efficient but I was not sure what to try and she was just not willing to offer anything for a suggestion if it was my business I would want the person at the counter to take all opportunities to promote our products to new customers. I came here very close to opening. Brooklyn Bagel is a good option for better-than-average bagels, but that's not saying much. It's not the best I've had, but it wasn't bad. Our order consisted of two bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on cheddar bagels, as well as two orders of hash-browns and a coffee. The hash-browns were pretty bland and average, with no seasoning whatsoever. The egg on the sandwich was also clearly unseasoned and its blandness muted the rest of the sandwich. The coffee was decent. You can refill your cup if you are dining in, which we did. The dining area was cramped but sufficient. This place filled up fast during their morning rush right after opening. The interaction at the register was pleasant albeit rushed. And the service after that was a little weird. We ordered when there were barely any patrons, and somehow got our order well after people who walked in a long time after us. One of our bagels looked completely different from the other -- almost older. I assumed they gave the original bagel that was meant for us away to a larger order and had to make a new batch? The cheddar looked like they just put a slice on top and microwaved it, which is not my experience with house-made cheddar bagels. It was definitely off-putting. Ordered from here twice. Is it a genuine New York City bagel? No. Is it better than the other places in the area? Yes. Given that, I give it a 4 star. So this is a cool bagel spot, that they have plenty of options. It's in Brookhaven and has free parking and it's across the street from a park. So if you're out and about at the park you can stop by as long as they're open. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor does have plenty of seats, and booths, but the outdoor is basically like picnic type of setup. The tables have umbrellas so it's covered so you won't necessarily be blazing in the sun if you do decide to do that. Now if you come, it was depends on what time you come that there could be a lie so keep that in mind. But typically the line does go pretty fast and they're really efficient with that. They have a lot of other things for sale, you can get the sides in a carryout container for sale as well. Any of other sweets and desserts for you too, so it's more than just a simple sandwich shop. You're going to place your order now. They'll give you a number. Make sure you pay attention to the number on your receipt so they can make sure they get your attention when they call it out. But it's a pretty simple and easy process. Obviously you can get plenty of sandwiches and then come typically with a half or a pool. Which is a little more for the pool obviously, but it's an example of getting a half and a quarter pound of meat. So it does definitely matter depending on how hungry you are. Sausage, egg and cheese bagel - last time I went I came for a breakfast sandwich so that was really what I was trying to do and I didn't need anything fancy, so I just got a standard sausage, egg and cheese on a plain bagel. Which it was a good sandwich. Italian stallion - I've also had the Italian stallion, and I got that on a garlic bagel. I wanted a little razzle dazzle LOL. LOL. Is roast beef and turkey and swiss. It was good and hot and it came out pretty fast. I stood around and ordered instead of doing it online so I wasn't as happy at all at that speed and it came out hot and fresh. You can see them back there working so you know they're non-stop back there. Potato salad - Also to know the fact that the lunch sandwiches, which you can get at any point in time throughout the day. Not just lunch time, also come with a side. The only thing I've had has been potato salad. But to have a couple of other things as well. So it's kind of like a full meal. The potato salad isn't actually that bad. Usually I'll get potato salad from places and it'll be bland and have zero flavor. And all you really taste is potato. This one isn't like that. It has a little sweetness to it. I'm not mad at all! If I was looking for a quick pickup that stayed open until 3:00, I would definitely consider this speed and option. Bagels are just about as good as they get here in Atlanta, and boy did Chamblee/Brookhaven need a spot to compete with Bronx Bagel Buggy. Clean interior and a big space with outdoor seating -- the place is always busy but not nearly as claustrophobic as competitors. Coffee is solid, bagels are fresh and chewy (with enough crust to stand up to toppings) and wonderful, and they don't skimp on CC. I spent my first 31 years living in NYC, twelve of those years living in Brooklyn. I regularly ate freshly baked bagels. The bagels here are decent not top shelf. The service could be better. I have ordered a toasted bagel and co received one that was not toasted. Their vegetable cream cheese is OK, not great. Newly opened in Spring '25, the newest spot neighborhood is already super popular, with long lines at weekends. There is outdoor seating and some indoor tables, and a line-up-and order-at-counter service style. The lines get a little confused, especially as there's not a great place to wait for your name to be called after placing an order, but the line does move relatively quickly. Bagels are fresh and tasty, and the breakfast sandwich options are great. The strawberry cream cheese is homemade and shocking pink in color - fun! I just had lunch and the food was excellent. I had a Yom Kippered bagel which is baked salmon , tomato and cream cheese on a bagel. Wow! So many great things to say. First the bagels are real bagels not the par baked kind at most stores now. Crunchy crust and soft centers. So great and a real treat for us.
