We split a bacon, egg and cheese on jalapeño cheddar as well as a toasted sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese. We both felt that the bagels were different, but both were enjoyable. The sesame bagel had more of a pretzel quality to it. We loved the smokings of the bacon and the cheese was nicely melted. The jalapeño cheddar bagel had a crispness to the outside and was soft on the inside. The cream cheese was very flavorful. The service was very quick despite them being very busy. They definitely know what they are doing. We were able to find a two seater inside the restaurant, but they also had seating outside. People were taking advantage of the nice day and sitting outside. After 15 years living nearby I finally went to this place and was sad and frankly surprised at myself that I hadn't tried it earlier. The bagel was better, in my opinion, than at Bethesda Bagel in Rosslyn. I got an everything with scallion cream cheese and the Bagel was chewy and airy and the various seeds and sundry sprinkled in it retained flavor, whereas they often just taste burned at Bethesda and elsewhere. The cream cheese had a large pieces of fresh scallion mixed in and I could really taste the flavor. It had a kitschy and more lived-in, authentic feeling ambiance than a lot of other places. Dr Brown sodas were available along with other things I have come to expect from Jewish deli or deli-adjacent type places. I also was really intrigued that they had a lot, onion and egg scramble on the menu that is served on a Bagel. Whenever I am out for breakfast in a Jewish deli eggs with lox and onions is what I always order, so I look forward to trying it. Prices were reasonable for this area. Reasons for a 4 and not a 5 are mainly that service was prompt but a little hectic and the ordering area is a bit disorganized, plus there is a $10 minimum to pay by card. Which I get, but these days a lot of us no longer carry cash so I ended up getting a second beverage to hit the minimum. Bagel sandwiches are cheap and if your main offering easily sells for well under $10, then a $10 minimum isn't appropriate. Also maybe the minimum was posted somewhere, but if it was I didn't see it. And honestly this will probably deter me from coming back when I am just looking to grab a quick bagel on my own because I am not going to go take out cash to buy one $5 bagel sandwich when I can preorder and pay by card online elsewhere. read more

I traveled all the way to VA just to get a bagel here only to be told at the register, after I've ordered and got my food, that it's cash only under $10. What?! I don't carry cash like most people in 2024 or my ATM card. The unfriendly cashier immediately took my bag away. So you'd rather throw away wasted food than charge me? Pastrami too if I'm feeling like spoiling myself. Lox, eggs, and onions. Lox and scallion cream cheese. Egg A.L.T. (Avocado, lettuce and tomato) (be careful, it's messy!) While they have over a dozen bagel choices, I really like the whole wheat everything or jalapeño cheddar for my sandwiches. If I'm just getting a quick bite, a cinnamon raisin bagel with either butter or regular or maple-walnut cream cheese is a great choice. Their overstuffed sandwiches are also amazing. The Bensonhurst (Marinated grilled chicken breast, bacon, pesto sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and tomato on ciabatta bread) is a good favorite. They also have some great fruit cups, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffees (espresso machine!), smoothies, and treats.
