Bacon, egg, and cheese on jalapeño cheddar bagel

My daughter and I were in the area for the weekend. We both love great New York style bagels, and decided to check out Brooklyn bagel bakery. We were not disappointed. We split a bacon, egg and cheese on jalapeño cheddar as well as a toasted sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese. We both felt that the bagels were different, but both were enjoyable. The sesame bagel had more of a pretzel quality to it. We loved the smokings of the bacon and the cheese was nicely melted. The jalapeño cheddar bagel had a crispness to the outside and was soft on the inside. The cream cheese was very flavorful. The service was very quick despite them being very busy. They definitely know what they are doing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were able to find a two seater inside the restaurant, but they also had seating outside. People were taking advantage of the nice day and sitting outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We decided to buy some bagel chips to take home to enjoy with some dips this week. If you are in the area hit up Brooklyn Bagel! You will not be disappointed!

Got a toasted blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Both flavors were pretty muted - maybe this is good for some, I kinda wish I got to taste more fruity fun! Good price point for fresh tasting products. This is such a go-to place for Arlington locals.

I love bagels...and I'm very particular about them. My standards are even higher if there is something New York related about the name. This place definitely lived up to my expectations. I had an everything bagel with garden veggie lite cream cheese and it was outstanding. Of particular note, some places slop on so much cream cheese that it is excessive and wasteful. Not here - they used the perfect amount.

Came here post run for a bagel. Small business but they do require a $10 min to use a credit card as a heads up. I ended up getting the Triple Decker, chose one on sight since it was getting packed with a ton of runners. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute spot and they were quite efficient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server that made your sandwich also found you and handed your food, which is a good way to accommodate and split the load. Good and fast place to pick up a sandwich, just make sure you have cash or a minimum of $10 to use card.

Find it odd this place has mediocre reviews on Yelp because most people enjoy them. Today I ordered an egg white and cheese sandwich on a French toast bagel for breakfast. The staff was super nice when I walked in and my order was waiting for me. I ate at the office and feel more than full for most of the day. I've only had sandwiches from here, never just a bagel and schmear so keep that it mind. However I really like this place!

OVERALL: Small but best bagel shop in the area. Line could be a little more efficient but you're not waiting long enough for this to be a problem. FOOD: Great texture, flavor, and size. Several pre selected options and of course you can build your own bagel. They also offer smoothies but the milk is powdered so I didn't try it. VENUE: [[HIGHLIGHT]]super small and a little confusing when you first walk in because it's always crowded but just get in line and someone from behind the counter will get your order as you move up the line.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You pay at the end where the cashier is located (which is the entrance and most people go there first instead of getting in the line)

Quick breakfast grab as my friend from New York frequents this place. Not going to lie, the fast pace of the workers can be a little daunting but I quickly scanned the menu and got an egg white bagel + sausage, egg, and cheese bagel. Cash is preferred as you need a minimum of around $7 to use your card. We paid about $20ish for 3 bagel sandwiches which I would say is a great price for breakfast.

Small NY-style bagel shop with a solid variety of bagels & cream cheeses Also have a bunch of different sandwich options, pastries, coffees, and a ton of other drinks as well The space has a few small tables for seating, and you can see them making their bagels right behind the counter When I came here I got a bagel & cream cheese & a Frappuccino. The bagel was underwhelming, but the frap was great. My GF also got a vanilla latte that she really enjoyed as well Cash only for under $10 read more

The best bagels in the DC area, hands down. Closest thing to actual NY bagels in the DMV. The staff are quick and friendly, so the weekend morning out-the-door lines are worth the wait. Their options are dizzyingly plentiful, it's hard to decide! My favorite breakfast bagel sandwiches are: Eggs, swiss cheese, and either bacon or sausage. Pastrami too if I'm feeling like spoiling myself. Lox, eggs, and onions. Lox and scallion cream cheese. Egg A.L.T. (Avocado, lettuce and tomato) (be careful, it's messy!) While they have over a dozen bagel choices, I really like the whole wheat everything or jalapeño cheddar for my sandwiches. If I'm just getting a quick bite, a cinnamon raisin bagel with either butter or regular or maple-walnut cream cheese is a great choice. Their overstuffed sandwiches are also amazing. The Bensonhurst (Marinated grilled chicken breast, bacon, pesto sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and tomato on ciabatta bread) is a good favorite. They also have some great fruit cups, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffees (espresso machine!), smoothies, and treats. My kids love their black and white cookies, which are hard to find outside of NY. read more

Brooklyn Bagels has finally rightfully been recognized by the Washington Post as the best bagelry in the DMV. I feel that I am a bagel connoisseur and these are the best around. They have all the flavors and all the amazing schmears - including a top notch whitefish salad and high quality lox. And, of course, they've got you covered if you need your bacon, egg, and cheese, or any variation thereof. Also, the sandwiches, salads, and treats are excellent. But most importantly, each bagel has the correct balance of chewiness and crispies at the top and bottom. It's convenient, too, just steps away from Courthouse Metro. They also do an amazing job with catering. I can't say enough about how great this place is! read more

Still love this spot for a Sunday morning breakfast! The line gets long but it moves fast. I usually go for a nova lox bagel with everything on it, a big pickle - made in house, and a cappuccino. There's plenty of seating inside and outside and I appreciate the quick service. read more

It's good enough to make me keep coming back for sure. I've had both bagels and cream cheese and meat egg and cheese on a bagel (which I tend to lean towards generally with bagels). The bagels are big but they are noticeable chewy. Flavor is good though. So I do urge you to come try this place as their are not many key places to go for bagels in the Arlington area! Service is always great you get your items very quickly even with a long line and it gives you that classic bagel/deli feel. read more

Continues to be my family's choice for the best bagels in Arlington. We had bagels this morning with Nutella, Nutella cream cheese, lox spread, and butter. All were delicious. Our only complaint was that our daughter's French toast bagel must have been cut with a knife that was used for an everything bagel, because it had a garlic/onion aftertaste, which she did not love. read more

3.5/5, not a bad spot for fresh bagels! The bagels are fresh, chewy, and soft without being too dense or underdone. The NY lox bagel sandwich had a solid ratio of lox, cream cheese, and other fillings without becoming too much bagel or cream cheese. Stopped in on a Sunday around 1 PM and there wasn't much of a line, but still some people seated inside and outside. I ordered NY lox on a whole wheat everything bagel and got it on a plain whole wheat bagel, even after clarifying the bagel type when ordering. Overall, the ordering process was a little confusing but seemed like it'd be efficient for larger crowds. The inside is packed with plenty of indoor seating, and there are a few tables outside as well. There's a $10 minimum to use card, but my $9.50 NY lox bagel came out to be $10.45 with tax so I didn't have to worry about that. Could see myself coming back for a bagel craving and trying some of their other bagels. read more

Appears to be a very efficient and effective business selling great bagels. I think I have had them all. I recently stopped by while on a business trip to DC just to bring some bagels home to my wife. Yes they are that good. Haven't found them like this in Texas. Great location with chewy, affordable bagels. If you like bready bagels, you may not like their bagels. I like chewy and fresh, so I've always enjoyed these ones. Even when it is busy, the line moves quickly and efficiently. I've been several times over the years but most recently I ordered an everything bagel with lox spread and a half dozen bagels to bring home. The bagels are pretty reasonably priced for the area and they keep well. If you do order bagels to go, you need to order them at the same time as your prepared bagel order. It's hard to see when you walk in but there's a good amount of tables toward the back where you can see them making fresh bagels. Definitely stop in if you're in the area! read more

Currently visiting DC for the first time and I was craving a bagel! This place did not disappoint! Lots of desserts, pastries, drinks, and of course a variety of bagels. My husband ordered the everything bagel with egg whites, spinach, and cheddar cheese. I ordered the Ny lox everything bagel and we shared halves. Both bagels were so delicious, soft, warm, and flavorful. And satisfied our breakfast craving. Best of all, this shop has FRESHLY squeezed orange juice and it was fantastic. It was very busy inside and there were quite a few employees, and each would help one customer. Despite the businesses we were in and out within 5 minutes! From food to service, everything was above amazing, and I plan to come back again before my trip ends. read more

Quite possibly one of the best bagels I have ever had. Chewy and tender but great flavor. I ordered the cinnamon chip bagel as a sausage egg and cheese sandwich and was very pleased with it. The sausage had a great flavor, the egg was cooked perfectly, and the cream cheese was luxurious. I ordered extra spread because I am so used to bagel companies skimping on the cream cheese, that was not the case. I did not need to do that, they were very generous with the amount of spread. I ordered ahead and the order said 15-20 minutes, my order was ready in 7 minutes. Would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back! read more

These bagels aren't NY-style so I'm confused. They are big, thick, and chewy. NY bagels are smaller and have an interior chew and nice outer crust. My toasted sesame bagel with butter and lox lacked sesame seeds and was just OK. I bought some as is to take home but didn't eat them. There are better bagel options. I like their hours though. read more

After moving here I heard about a good bagel place called "Brooklyn Bagel Bakery." I go there and OH MY GOD THE BAGELS ARE HEAVENLY. The bagels here are amazing, and the NY style service is great, because the line goes very fast. Over the weekend we stopped by for some Saturday morning bagel sandwiches. We were able to snag a spot in the sun at one of the little tables outside. I was impressed that there was so many tables squeezed into such a small patio! I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The bacon was super crispy and the bagel had a great chew to it. I was also impressed with how big the bagel was! Totally hit the spot for a quick morning breakfast. I will be back. read more

For a place using Brooklyn in its name, I expected better. Came here for a quick breakfast with the family. I ordered an everything with scallion cream cheese, also got an order of plain with eggs and cinnamon raisin with cream cheese. Service was friendly no doubt! And our food came out quickly as well. The problem is: the food was not worth the little the waited. The bagel, although well seasoned, was so chewy! There was so much resistance trying to take a bite out of the bagel. And not only that, our order was messed up. We were given a plain bagel with cream cheese but charged for the plain bagel with eggs. So overall, not a great start to the day. Maybe they were overwhelmed because admittedly there were quite a few patrons. But I think it might be best to find other bagels. read more

This was my second time in and it was just as good as the first! This time, I got a lox, onion and egg Asiago bagel sandwich and it was delicious. The service was quick, and the bagel was fresh and chewy - just how I like it. There's a surprising amount of indoor seating in addition to the handful of tables out front. I always love grabbing bagels from Brooklyn Bagels in Courthouse! The prices here are great, be aware that if you are spending less than $10 you must pay in cash. This particular time I went our bagels we're a little undercooked, but that hasn't happened before and they were busy, accidents happen. Additionally, the shop is a little small, so I'd recommend grabbing these bagels to go on your next morning breakfast run. read more

Gone downhill tremendously. Last few times we have been it's been terrible quality, and this time my bagel was inedible. My bagel was as hard as a rock and they barely put any cream cheese on it. So essentially no cream cheese either. The bacon egg and cheese also left a lot to be desired. Bagel was flimsy and falling apart and it was one of the thinnest bacon eggs and cheeses I've seen. It's a bummer because this used to be our favorite bagel spot. Was even hesitant to go back today given the last few times weren't great. This confirmed we will no longer be coming back. Alright. I'm from Jersey and NY is close to me and this is not the best bagel I've had outside of NJ/NY area. I think the bagels are a bit overpriced for the amount you get. You can actually get more for the same price at Bethesda Bagels. This place is cash only which to me is already a turn off. I understand that credit card fees are crazy but ya gotta get with society and get a credit card machine. Their coffees are also overpriced. I had the lox bagel and it was ok. It wasn't the best lox bagel ever. I don't think I would come back here again. The place is tiny and super crowded because it's right on the main road so people come here after their night of escapades drinking out in town. read more

I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.

The hoisin-glazed pork belly bao buns were soft, fluffy, and packed with melt-in-your-mouth pork, while the rigatoni norcina was creamy, comforting, and perfectly cooked. The grilled gem lettuce was also a fresh, flavorful way to start the meal. For drinks, the white sangria and pomegranate ginger mocktail were both refreshing and delicious. I have been to Brooklyn Bagel Bakery many times. the food quality is not bad. however, the treatment of workers by their owner is what made me decide to stop getting my food from this place. In many occasions, I witnessed the owner of this establishment (Moe) insulting/screaming at line workers. In one occasion, this happened while the person working was fixing my food. I also heard that the reason why it's mandatory to pay in cash and having an in-store ATM that's not connected to a bank, is because of some tax evasion purposes. I don't support verbal abuse and tax evasion that's why I'm boycotting this place. read more

The bagels here were OK. I've had NY bagels before and the stuff here is a few notches below. The bagels were not soft and chewy, but I didn't really expect NY style. The store is very small and with small eating area. You get a blast of cold air since there is no double door. Be wary of the sales people since they have an inefficient process where the guy who's taking your order, gives you your order, and then you take it to the cashier for pay. I've been going to this place for years and although we moved recently and can no longer walk it's worth the trip. Food is always fresh and while the guys behind the line know how to move it when it's busy they are really very friendly. They all know my kids and remember what we like to order. Just love the bagels, they are huge and i scoop mine out and put egg whites and avocado in. Best Kept secret is they do fantastic catering and will deliver. We've done both home and office and our guests were so impressed. Also love the white pizza during the week. Love, love, love!! read more

Brooklyn Bagel is by far my favorite place to get a quick bite. Not only are the staff friendly but the bagels and sandwiches are to die for. Every time I go I know that I'll be getting a fantastic bagel that beats anything you could get in New York let alone the DMV. I can't make it clear enough that If you haven't eaten here yet your missing out. If it's your first time time their I recommend a egg and cheese on a everything bagel (that's my favorite bagel) but you can't go wrong at Brooklyn Bagel. This place rocks. read more

ahh the perfect city bagel shop. people sitting outside all of the restaurants...walking distance to everything arlington...and ummm...my FAVORITE bagel (aside from smoked salmon) is white fish...oooh they are very good. and all the buzz from people sitting and the long line...ahhh what fun is it w/ out all that. best of all by the time i roll out of bed on a sunday morning and make my way there...1:30 2:30...they are still there. and i love the bagel machine thingy on the other side of the glass. read more

Order your bagel how you want it...get them how we want to make em. Hey, if you want it toasted, we have a toaster and we will walk it past it while the toaster is off. Want a flavored cream cheese, tell us what you want...you'll get plain cream cheese...LIKE IT OR NOT ! Don't be picky, they sell better bagels at the grocery store and odds are you have a working toaster. Make your own damned bagels if you want them a certain way. Tried this place for the first time on a busy Sunday morning. Felt rushed throughout the order which would've been okay had the bagels made up for it! The bagels seemed FAR from fresh and were barely warm, far from toasted like asked. 2 of the 4 bagels we had had inedible tiny rocks or something in them which is unacceptable. The cream cheeses we tried were okay. Sun dried tomato too sweet and scallion was good but not great. We should've just went to a dunkin instead. read more

There was mold on the fruit salad in the ice tray near the cash registers. The strawberries looked like white puff balls. Also, the bagels are really chewy... not real NY bagels that are crisp and flavorful. And this was after their bagels had been "toasted." Top of the line everything.... The bagels are large and delicious. Probably one of the best bagels I've had in the DC area thus far. Service is quick. My biggest complaint is them not takng credit cards. I believe prices are comparable for the area Its probably a bit less expensive than Corner Bakery, which is next door but they take credit cards. I'll take quality over the card and find an ATM. read more

Out of three of the bagels I was interested in, didn't tell me they only took cash (no signs telling me anything about cash only, had to use atm inside that charges a convenience fee) and person taking my order was rude and walked away in the middle of speaking to me. will NOT be back again. I like their bagels a lot, and each weekend their store is pretty full due to their central location and the lack of good bagels in the vicinity. The cashier doesn't seem friendly though. She tends to give me attitude for no real reason. Seems she hates to be there, but other staff are pretty quick and helpful. read more

Reliable but not exceptional, this bakery makes consistently decent bagels with good service at a premium price. Bagels are a little chewier than a standard NY style bagel. Recommended for answering a morning bagel fix, with limited nearby options, this bakery is an acceptable solution. read more

They make excellent NY bagels. Nice and chewy. With a crust. Service people are sometimes abrupt, but I can live with that since I'm there for the bagels. The bagel chains simply can't compete because they make soft rolls, not real boiled NY bagels. read more
