After reading the wonderful reviews, I knew I had to try this place. My husband and I just moved to the neighborhood and have had such great dining experiences until I made the bad decision to order for delivery from Brooklyn Blend. I placed an order at 2:30 PM. It didn't arrive to my door until after 6:00PM (yes you read that correctly). I placed a call to inquire around 5 to Brooklyn Blend. The woman who answered the phone gave a curt apology and told me someone was driving over with it right away. Around 5:30PM I called customer service at Yelp. They reached out to Brooklyn Blend and said they couldn't get a hold of them, so they gave me a 50 percent discount. The food arrived about 1/2 an hour 40 minutes later. The food was warm so I assumed it had been freshly made, but I now I suspect that it had been sitting out for a long time and then thrown into the oven at the last minute in a lame attempt to cover their tracks. It was a horrible mistake to consume that food because my husband and I both had the symptoms of food poisoning. I will spare you the details but something horrible was done to our food. I wouldn't wish food poisoning on my worst enemy, it's a horrible and potentially dangerous experience. There are so many awesome places to eat in the area, do yourself a favor and choose one of those. UPDATE: The owner's reached out quickly with a very sincere and heartfelt apology. I believe that the incident was a grave error, but not representative of their brand. Perhaps many months from now I there could be a possibility to give it another try. read more

They made my "fresh pressed juice" with frozen fruit in a blender??? I honestly USED to love this place! There sandwiches and salads were good and I used to go out of my way to grab a coffee there. I have a juicer at home and it broke so I stopped in for a juice to help relieve my cold and they gave me a smoothie made with frozen fruit. I asked the guy who made it if the drink was right, a juice and not a smoothie, and the guy was angrily like "it's a juice" (even though I saw him take frozen pineapple and put it in a blender). You're better off going to a neighboring bodega that has a juicer because the "juice" tasted like freezer burnt pineapple with strings of ginger (clearly it's a smoothie). I would've been happier if the guy admitted that it was a smoothie & that it wasn't fresh fruit and let me order something that was a real juice - fresh pressed with fresh fruit or just give me my money back and not give me another drink..? As someone who has and still works with hospitality that would've been the proper customer service thing to do!! Your best bet for a juice is a bodega because sadly Brooklyn blends "fresh juices" are made with frozen products- but if you're going for a smoothie it's great! Stopped by the new BKLYN BLEND today on our way home and we are proud to report the experience was equally as amazing as the Flagship location. We had the Seaview Swai and the BK Reu-Blend and they were both delicious, on freshly toasted tumeric bread. Despite the to go packaging, my fish was juicy on the inside and crispy on the edges and oh so flavorful. We also had the B44 and Eastern pkwy smoothies.
