I really like this place. Never had a bad espresso drink, sandwich, or pastry. Love the picnic tables out back. Never had issues finding a place to sit and play games or chit-chat.

Found some fiber inside their butternut squash sage scone, not good. Hope hygiene level could be improved

So glad I found this place. Breakfast sandwich was amazing. I got the Sammie for Jew, which, as a gentile, I felt a little awkward saying out loud, but man it was worth it. Who knew pastrami and mustard on a breakfast sandwich could be so good? The iced coffee was amazing too and quick and friendly service. Beautiful interior seating area and a little backyard too.

Special request sandwich made by the cook himself

Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. The coffee is a 10 out of ten. Very chic and modern. Everyone here seems to be laid back and chill. It's a vibe.

Loved this to go or outdoor seating cafe. The sandwiches are unique and delicious. I enjoy the Golden one which includes a latke, green chilies, mustard, egg, cheese on a Portuguese bun. It's very chill spot, the drinks are solid. This is slowly becoming my go-to breakfast stop even if it's not my next door cafe just because everything they have here feels good quality. 4.8/5

Delicious coffee, pastries and bfast sandwiches served by a super friendly staff. Prices are comparable with other cafés in bk. I got the basic breakfast sandwich which was egg and cheese on a Portuguese roll. The bread was delicious and looks like most of their sandwiches are served on that. I also got an iced caramel latte with almond milk which was strong and sweet how I like it. They also had some lunch sandwiches, salads, and soups which is nice. Would definitely come back! (Very limited seating)

I love stopping into Peck's, particularly their breakfast sandwich. Two eggs, cheddar on a Portuguese bun, you can order with bacon, pork sausage, chicken sausage or avocado. The photo I made here is of the chicken sausage. I like to sit in the window and watch the people on Myrtle come and go, talking of Michelangelo.

I had a business meeting here.. First time here and it was a cool spot in Brooklyn.. Plenty of pastries, coffee and tea options available, also breakfast sandwiches as well.. Customers service was really good, friendly staff.. Nice ambiance w/ a few seats available inside, but it's plenty of seating outside on the back patio area.. if you need to have a meeting or a quick snack this is a good place.. I don't come to NYC too often but if I'm in Brooklyn I will definitely come back here.

The pastries and sweets are decent, all the savory dishes are way oversalted (Confit, salad, sandwiches).

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

We also wanted to try a classic pastrami on rye--but without committing to the long lines at Katz's Delicatessen. Sarge's ended up being the perfect alternative, just a quick five-minute walk from our hotel. We arrived around 5:00 pm on a Sunday and were seated right away, which already felt like a win. The meal started with coleslaw and both a half sour and full sour pickle--such a classic deli touch, and a great way to kick things off. I ordered the half sandwich with matzah ball soup, and the portion sizes were no joke. The soup alone could have been a full meal: a huge bowl with an equally massive matzah ball. The broth was warm and soothing, and the matzah ball was incredibly light with a perfect texture. The half pastrami on rye was just as impressive. Even "half" was stacked high with flavorful, tender pastrami. Adding a bit of mustard from the table brought everything together--it was simple, classic, and exactly what I was hoping for. Not only was it one of the more reasonably priced meals of the trip, but it was also genuinely satisfying. If you're looking for a no-fuss, traditional deli experience without the wait, Sarge's is a great option.
