Brooklyn Crab, i love ya. No complaints- take the ferry to this gem. You will feel like you're at a crab shack in another state! Reservations recommended. I got the ez peel shrimp, potatoes & corn .. as well as a watermelon marg & honey deuce. Everything was so good. Old bay etc at your disposal on your table - honestly what is there to complain about. If you love seafood - try this out! This place just gets it & honestly there aren't many of its kind!!

So I don't really hang out in Red Hook like that but I decided to try something new and go for a little excursion. I should start seeing more of my city, right? So I was hanging out at a record shop and everybody was like "you need happy hour oysters! happy hour oysters! happy hour!" Well, I took my booty to Brooklyn Crab and I am so happy that I did because I am so much better for it! $1 Oysters! P.E.I. Mussels?? Thick and spicy and super flavorful shrimp?! $10 margaritas! All the food is amazing. Beyond the food...servers are impeccable. It was so in love with my experience I think I went 3 days in a row. Am I ashamed? Absolutely not. Would I do it again? Yes. Would I move to Red Hook just to be closer to Brooklyn Crab? I would give my apartment up in a heartbeat. You should get there as soon as you can and save me a seat and a shrimp! This place is #YuckbangCertified!!

Came here for a work outing and was seated on the second floor (had a shaded cover). We got a couple of appetizers to share, including the ahi tuna nachos, watermelon salad (delicious), caprese salad, popcorn shrimp and calamari. For my main, I got the crab cakes which were excellent! Not too fishy and the remoulade that came with it was very flavorful! Would recommend to come here with a group. Even with a large group (around 10 people) service was prompt and friendly. The only downside is there are no vegetarian options, but I'm sure you could ask to get something customized (like the salad appetizer)

The ceviche was so tasty and bright for a crazy hot 4th of July. Blue roll was packed with crab and such a great roll overall. The bar was filled but everyone was taken care of. We sat in the bar upstairs and once you sit and get acclimated it's not as hot. They are very on top of their reservations for walk in on weekends. For warmer weather I recommend getting there when they open if you want to chill. Love coming here and can't wait to come back!

Obsessed with Brooklyn Crab! They have unique cocktails, inventive appetizers, great food and a great vibe. The staff were very gracious with our large party and everyone loved their food and drink. I'm making any excuse to take the ferry over here!

On arguably the coldest day of the year a few weeks ago on Super Bowl Sunday, your girl made a trek only a few crazy people would. Tucked in the quiet end of Red Hook right by the water, is Brooklyn Crab - a lively, coastal shanty themed restaurant serving up some seafood favorites... but on a cold day in early February the abandoned and frozen tiki bar downstairs and the residue of snow salt on the staircase leading to the restaurant only served as a faint reminder of brighter, sunny days that await us this summer in New York. I plopped myself on the bar seating as cold gushes of air swept in with the opening door. The heating was struggling but so were we - it really was just that cold. However dire these conditions were, I was here for my weekly ritual - two dozen oysters on the half shell. Trish the bartender was a great sport. We chit chatted about the weather and her California upbringing and everything in between. She was great company and a delight to talk to. When the oyster platter arrived I was met with instant joy. Nicely sized oysters, neatly shucked, briny and beautiful with the accompaniments I like. A cold glass of beer I had been slowly working on in the background. They only have the $1 Sunday oyster happy hour during the winter months. Staff simply can't keep up with the shucking when it's busier. I deeply enjoyed this meal as the sun shined in the glass enclosure and it started to warm up. Far away I could see the waves crashing on the dock, as I guzzled down the ocean's perfect food. I also ordered the peel and eat shrimp and they were very good. Nicely seasoned, with ample amount of lemon wedges to make this meal truly one of a kind. This is one of the best oyster happy hours in Brooklyn, and even though I am traveling away from home right now, I can't wait to return and bask in this sunlit bar one last time this winter. Highly recommended!!

Food is below averaged, overpriced, and the capitalize on the summer season that's it. They rush you in rush you out. The hostess is a Young snot nose that was so fresh. I can't even comprehend. It went to get a lemon wedge, not with my hands with a straw for my breath and she yelled at me needless to say I yelled back you're a fresh young lady so is that how you treat your customers? trust me it'll be the last. Hope you starve over the winter.

I have passed by Brooklyn Crab multiple times, and it is always super busy. Well, not so much in the winter! I am much more of a foodie person than vibes (though vibes are also important) but if you come at off peak and off season (i.e. middle of day in the winter), it is not so busy and you can take advantage of their great happy hour deals. We got a little of the happy hour oysters and some appetizers but also got a burger (not on happy hour list). The oysters were great - super fresh, not fishy. Really refreshing. The fries and the burger were also really good. And the shrimp was soo flavorful. I think if we were to come again, would skip the wings - they were ok, though the service was really nice and allowed us to try two flavors (gave us separate sauces) - maybe if we had done just one flavor and let them sauce them themselves it would have been better? Super close to IKEA and unbeatable sunset views. Will definitely come again if every around the area.

The frozen marg was strong and yummy. Fish and chips was fresh with properly crispy breading but flavor-wise nothing to write home about. Wish the coleslaw was either creamier or had more flavor (or both). My company loved the crab! The waiters were very attentive with emptying her discard bowl multiple times. Amazing view of the Statue of Liberty from the top floor and overall a great place to hang out with friends on a sunny day.

This established has the best views over the water. So stunning! We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy and the service reflected that. We ordered the calamari for the app and it was honestly the best dish of the night. It was seasoned well and fried with precious. Flavor in every bite. Definitely a fave on the menu. I ordered the crab cakes for my entree and they were alright. I wasn't pleased with the size or taste. I think they came close the a great flavor, but didn't quite hit the mark. The salad was just eh. The guava spritz was a tasty drink. I thought it would be a little sweeter because of the guava, but it wasn't.

Great spot for a summer hang with a group of friends! We came here for a friend's birthday, and he ordered a couple different platters for us. We got to try the crab roll, lobster roll, lobster grilled cheese, and popcorn shrimp. My favorite was surprisingly the shrimp! I love that they seasoned the batter - they were so easy to eat. We also tried the smashburger and the ahi tuna nachos. It says that the nachos are a starter, but the portion was so big! The wonton chips were a nice touch. They have cornhole in the front and some arcade games inside. This is definitely a family-friendly place. Only con is that it's so hard to get to, so I don't think I would come here that often. But the food was actually really good!

    Deviled eggs, popcorn shrimp
    Jillian B.

Perfect lunch for a sunny summer day! We opted to share some bites and ended up with deviled eggs, popcorn shrimp, and of course a snow crab roll! We liked the seasoning in the batter for the shrimp and the snow crab roll had a good amount of meat on it for the price. Food came out quickly which we also appreciated. It wasn't super busy when we came, but I can imagine it gets packed. Pro tip: sprinkle some old bay seasoning on the chips.

    Kenneth E.

Updated review. Bartenders were extremely rude. Took over 20 minutes to get a drink cause they were flirting with girls. Garlic shrimp was a hit and so we're the deviled eggs. Tried the roll again and it was still a bit dry on the bottom and the mayo on the top really needs to be spread out on the bread. Once we were in the restaurant, service was nice! Seating was cool with the open air!

The only thing that was disappointing was the slow service. We had asked for the check, but it never came around after waiting 15 minutes. We had reservations to get to, so the delay was annoying. Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, I tapped my ruby red Crocs and landed in the Red Hook waterfront on a HHH day. NY Mag offered a free 7 ounce beer of my choice. I was also going to order food. However, Truman explained that " on weekends the pop up food markets are here or patrons bring food to picnic". He suggested Red Hook Kitchenette to purchase sandwiches and bring it back and dine here. ( which I did, see separate review for RHK). I asked for suggestions on an IPA that is citrusy and he suggested the Hazy IPA Wolf in the Garden. WITG has hints of tropical fruit, stone fruit and orange peels. An IPA Fawn approved. They serve beer, cider, wine and spirits. The interior is rustic with wood tables, soft lighting and just a chill beer. The outside picnic tables face the waterfront and Lady Liberty, what a view! Sipping my beer in the sweet sunshine. I am falling in love with NY crafted beer and IPA. Strong Rope will become a Fawn fave fast. Many thanks to Truman who is friendly, has extensive beer knowledge and made a great lunch suggestion. Cheers!
