This is by far the best brunch in the area. We come in here every Sunday and its been amazing. On the board, they have a weekly "Benedict" - it changes all the time and they are the best! best Eggs Benny in the area, bar none. The potato cakes here, are awesome. It says fluffy eggs in the egg and bacon croissant sandwich, but it was a very thin folded over omelette. Also, I did not think the home fries were very good at all. I've been living in Philadelphia for the last 20 years, but I grew up in Berks County and my daughter still lives in Exeter. I must've driven by this place hundreds of times and never noticed it. Today on a simple Google search it popped up and I couldn't believe I've been missing it for all this time. Regardless I had some time to stop in. Tons of parking outside. Upon walking inside, I was greeted by a very nice young girl called Melana who was also my waitress. I ordered my usual breakfast fair egg scrapple, and burnt right toast. They offered something different other than home fries which was a potato pancake and let me tell you they were delicious. There's nothing fancy about this place. Just good old-fashioned, cooking and outstanding service. I'm definitely going to come back and I'll be bringing my family the next time. It's nice to see a new auction that is fantastic. One and done. We went on the Friday before Christmas at noon. We waited well over a half an hour for our food because they were making a bunch of entries for a photographer to shoot. We have eaten at Brooks Cafe before. Never had any issues. We ordered take out today. When I went in to pick up, I was informed that they don't have the Chicken Salad Hawaiian and substituted the chicken salad with grapes and walnuts. You can't just sub something without asking! The person this was for has a nut allergy! That could have been very dangerous! I asked to sub a club sandwich instead. I waited and waited at least 10-15 minutes and no word. How long does a club take?? I asked someone behind the counter if it's coming out soon and she said "I don't know". Food was coming out of the kitchen left and right! you'd think they would take care of the order they screwed up first instead of leaving me stand there and then no one knew about it! My husband and I had breakfast here this morning and were very disappointed with everything except the sourdough French toast. The bacon is paper thin, zero flavor and extra crispy. The sausage was awful too even after I sent it back for being under cooked. The breakfast potatoes were under cooked and had no seasoning. The service was below average--needed several reminders to refill coffee, lack of friendliness, literally dropped off silverware for our table like it was a flyover and kept going, delivered check to table w/out a word to us. The place was not full when we were there so I'm hard pressed to find an excuse for the absence of pleasantness. It's really hard to screw up breakfast, but they did. So as I write this I'm being generous. I've been here twice and this was a few months ago. I thought I left a review here but instead I put it on my IG. Anywho, firstly the food itself is good. The first time I went I had French toast and the second I had waffles. The first time I came here I felt awkward like I wasn't wanted. I chalked it up to me being alone. But when I came a second time with my parents they both mentioned they felt like they weren't wanted either. The vibe in this place is off. The staff are polite but it's a weird polite. I like going places that make me feel like I'm family and I'm welcome. The food is good but I can't get around the energy in here. So I personally won't be going back. read more

Two of us got the sourdough french toast, I got the golden waffle with yogurt and fruit, and my partner got the veggie bowl. Food came out quickly and was exactly what you'd expect from a diner in a plaza. Nothing to write home about, but I don't think that's why you go to diners! Brooks Cafe is SO amazing. In an era of Social Distancing, the truly do an amazing job. I ordered everything on FB, paid via Venmo, pulled up my car and drove off with my food. There are delivery options, like DoorDash, but I wanted to get out of the house, even if it was just to the car. We ordered a plethora of different items off the breakfast menu and the lunch menu and EVERY SINGLE THING tasted AMAZING! I cannot reccomend this cafe ENOUGH!!! The owner and the cook are truly great people, always giving back to the community. I just can't say enough about how much I love this place and these people. We moved into the area last year and it took a while for us try this place mainly because we rarely go out to breakfast. It's in a strip mall but the inside is as I'd expect. We've now been here 4 times. We've taken our families here when they come up for a weekend breakfast. The potato cakes are awesome and I recommend them to everyone. I really enjoyed the banana pancakes and my aunt loved the banana bread french toast. I haven't been overly impressed with the omelets as I prefer a little less cheese but it was still fine. It's a worth a try especially if you are local. read more

The hubby and I found this little gem using yelp and figured we'd give it a go. Staff is friendly and nice, and very personable. The decor is a little blah, but overall the atmosphere is comfortable. The menu has so many different options and they all sound so delicious it's hard to pick one. The food was fantastic and we both really enjoyed our meals. Refills were prompt and we were overall super pleased with this little cafe. We will definitely return. read more

If you are in no hurry and have time to waste I would recommend this cafe. My experience was,11:30 am on a weekday, approximately 15 patrons, 2 waitresses and 1 maybe 2 incompetent cooks. Waited 35 minutes for a children's portion of mac & cheese which I would bet 100% was kraft mac & cheese out of the box and also one pancake and two pieces of bacon for a child. Five minutes later I finally received my oatmeal which was more like oatmeal soup. Total wait time 40 minutes. Five young men walked in n ordered their food 10 minutes after we did and they got their food first. Most frustrating experience ever and I will never return. Do not recommend. read more

After reading the reviews, we tried this place for the first time. The service was very friendly but seemed a little overwhelmed. We had to ask multiple times for a beverage refill and I was never offered more hot water for my tea. The food was good, nice variety in the menu if you are looking for diner food for a reasonable price. They also offer daily specials, but those were much more expensive than the regular items. I would eat here again, but wish the environment was more relaxed/comfortable. It is sparse and not very warm and the noise level could get loud at times. read more

There is no way to select what soup you are getting and when you ask them to call you, they ignore the instructions... i called to find out what soup was put in my order since they never called me and was given attitude and hung up on. 3.5 stars. Was really excited to have a brunch spot in town! I went on a Sunday morning with my boyfriend and his friend. The place wasn't crowded at all but it was Memorial Day weekend. Sadly what used to be my "local always go to place" that I could tell others about...my local get great food & great service at a reasonable price place is no longer a cafe I can wholeheartedly recommend. The food is still good ~ the chef today made an awesome special ; however the service was really poor. Trying to get service from the waitress eventually became comical as another table made a comment after watching us trying to get her attention numerous times. Because I had always felt like a welcomed customer in the past, I took the time to tell the waitress why we were unhappy with her service.
