I would give a zero if I could. I had a rodent problem (mice) and purchased the "special" for $99 ($200 off) if you sign up for their quarterly service. If you cancel before a year is up, you have to pay them $200. They came out, set some traps and did not catch ONE mouse. I set my own traps and probably catch about 20! I called them back out a few days later (day before was Thanksgiving) and they came to replace the traps that were used (MY traps). The tech had only rat traps and no bait. They were using cranberries, so I gave a bag of them. Again, not one mouse was caught. I had ordered more mouse traps and was using peanut butter and catching them like crazy. This company was worthless! I STILL have the issue in my garage that I continue to have to deal with...I would NEVER use this company. I do not recommend Brooks Pest Control. Scheduling with them is a nightmare. They give you a huge service window -- typically from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., which means you basically have to clear your entire day just in case they show up. The one time I was given an acceptable time frame I was told my technician would arrive between 8 and 11 a.m., so I stayed home all morning waiting for them to ring the doorbell (since the technician was supposed to spray inside my home). After 11 a.m., I left to run errands, only to get an email saying the tech had come by at 8 a.m., sprayed just my front door, never rang the doorbell, and left. Complete waste of time. The $40 I spend every month now is basically to just have them spray my front door. Huge waste of money. They also won't enter the backyard unless someone is home, but they won't give a reliable timeframe, so again -- you have to stay home all day just to get anything done. On top of that, they send a different person every single time, which is very unsettling when someone is going to be walking through every room of your house. It's uncomfortable not having a consistent technician. I've called and complained about these issues, and the response has always been "there's nothing we can do." No accountability, no adjustments. Stay away. We caught three mice in our Big Bear Airbnb and figured we needed pest control. I paid them to bait the residence and they did. However no other pests were caught. It seems like I addressed the problem before they serviced us, which is fine. However this company scams you into what they feel is a 'contract' for additional visits. I had no problem paying for the first visit but they tell you there's a huge 'cancellation fee' to get out of the alleged contract you signed so their move is to convince you that you might as well continue with the service appointments that you were tricked into committing to because it's a better use of the money. And they are obnoxious about it. And relentless with their billing calls. If only they were as diligent with their pest control as they are with their sketchy business and sales practices. Oh and they just pick random dates to show up without asking you first. And they left a service tag on my door when I asked them not to...because who likes to check into an Airbnb and see a 'pest control was just here' sign? And don't email them either. They'll just say to call their 1-833 number to handle any concerns over the phone because they can't over email. The reason for this is that they can't bully you over email, only over the phone. It's a tactic. I fully expect some lame reply from them to this review where they apologize and ask me to call their number. It would just result in them aggressively saying I signed some shady contract, which was not made clear to me by the shady sales guy. Look at the other reviews. This is a pattern. Go elsewhere. They charged me 150.00 for the first month and 75.00 a month after that even though they only showed up every other month. I signed up for a required pest control contract because they assured me that they would treat the inside and outside of the house for fleas. The two people who came out for my first service, one did inside but because of rain another person came 2 days later to do the outside, were both nice and listened to my concerns. However, the inside treatment was only spraying the center of baseboards with normal bug spray and one room of carpet spray. Nothing was treated in the garage where the fleas had originally come in. Outside, a granule was sprinkled and cobwebs removed. Then I was told later, by email, that I needed to spray the yards with water within 24 hours. My hose does not reach & I find that unprofessional. I have since been told that flea treatment, the only thing I wanted & was clear about that, involves different products like a fogger outside. Our bad experience goes back to the initial sign up and never let up. We had another service provider at a fantastic rate that had minimal issues. Our door was knocked on by a rep while I was in the middle of barbecuing and my wife was cooking sides inside while also managing our 3 kids, so it was pretty chaotic. We didn't want to be rude and know that their job is tough so we tried talking to the guy but he didn't let up or get the hint. Technicians are worthless they always make excuses for not finishing services. Also always writing down they used granules on the lawn when they didn't. I caught on my ring cam not doing the services that I pay for and still printing it on their service slips . I then called to cancel my service after they told me my contract was in its last month and low and behold it wasn't I was charged again the following month and I called and spoke to one of their " account managers " who first offered to wave the last charge if I continued with their service but I told them it wasn't worth it . Oh my goodness, had I read alllll of the negative reviews prior to hiring this company, I would have never hired them. The company threw some flee granules in my yard, because my neighbors don't take care of their dogs, and I don't want fleas in my yard as a result. A few days later, my entire yard was trashed.. All of the grass died, one of my trees died, so I called the company with my complaint but it was as if they didn't care at all. They informed me that I have to pay $245 early cancellation fee in order to terminate the services. Not to mention the bug issue that I had, I still have. I sent them pictures, they sent a young man out to investigate the problem, and to not avail, they are not being held accountable for the damage their product caused. I did all the planting myself and I'm not a young woman. I even held my son's funeral service in my yard but the managers acted as though they didn't care. Very heartless!! In the meantime, I have tilled and reseeded my entire backyard and now the grass is growing nicely-again. Be mindful, I did it myself, and I purchased a seed and the dirt which came to a total of $345. They are not willing to negotiate on the price of an early termination fee, nothing. They said instead of charging me a cancellation fee of $250, why Don't I go to a quarterly service at $99/per service with 3 remaining services left. But nope, 4 months later they send an email over the weekend saying they are coming. They sprayed and charged me even though we had no contract to due so.
