Very unreliable. They cancelled multiple appointments even after they promised to be there

I was sent a contract for pest control services at $X. The next day, I called the office simply to understand the details better. During that call, they offered additional services and sent me a new contract for $Y. When I later requested to proceed with the original $X contract, I was told it was no longer available and that only the $Y contract was now valid. I escalated the issue to a manager, who told me that the $X contract was based on old rates and could no longer be honored -- all of this happened within 24 hours. Am I missing something here? I didn't negotiate, delay, or change anything -- I just asked questions. And somehow, within a single day, my original agreement became invalid and the price increased? read more

Our small San Diego condo complex has been using this pest control company for many years now. They spray outside for pests monthly, as a preventative maintenance service. It has worked well for us and has kept our building pest free. Our overall experience has been very good thus far. We've had no problems with the service or personnel. the worse company that you can sign up with, I'm a customer with them for past 4 years, they come when ever they want, they don't have a fix schedule they text you and next day they are here, he sprey in less than 10 min and he's out. they do a horrible job, technician is processing you so many time but he never those his job. a supervisor by the name of Richard Kane Contacted me to see why I'm cancelling my services, I told him I have still Spider's, Mosquito's, and little Mouses. I have being with Home Team over 5 years and never had ants coming inside the house . This is not just only ants inside also outside and I see spiders as well. The Taexx sytem no longer working and their way of treatment on the outside also no longer work. Furthermore, for some reason my perfect healthy dog got poison right after their treatment emergency vet bill came to over $7,000. Not sure what is going on with this company anymore, what they use supposedly human and pets safe and I spoke with manager Mike and he doesn't seem to care of my dog nor ants coming inside the house. For the safety of my dogs I am no longer trust and continue with their services. read more

If you are unfortunate enough to buy a new home with their Taexx system preinstalled, these people will not stop bugging you, pun intended. They pay the builder to install the system and hope to harass the home buyer into signing up for a subscription to make their profit. Telling these people no means nothing to them, they continue to knock at the door and leave flyers after I've repeatedly kindly refused their services, at this point it's over the line and people should be blasting their management for this inappropriate "sales strategy". I've said no over 5 times at this point and asked not to be solicited to and they keep coming back like Groundhog Day. read more

From the initial phone call to the bi-monthly service, the office personnel and technician are professional and have our best interest at heart. And, we've been mosquito free. Called every month since to try and get an appointment and only found ourselves met with a "customer service" that sounds like their job is more of an inconvenience than anything. Always got told we'd be contacted by a manager for an appointment. Well, 6 months of trying and still nothing. Filed a chargeback because they wouldn't refund. HomeTeam has been treating our home for over 2 years now. Since treatment we have seen a HUGE improvement in the amount of spiders, webs, and overall insects trying to take over our porch and patio. Several techs have serviced the home over the years, but one that stands out is Alex. He sends a notification the day before service and is pretty consistent with the routine schedule. Alex also pays attention to the details and does a thorough job (dusting, de-webbing, spraying). If I ever have a concern with more spiders showing up, I give customer service a call, send them a picture, and they have always find a solution that doesn't end up costing me more. I am extremely pleased with the service that our service tech Kevin provides to us. He is very communicative and always lets us know when he will be here. I never thought that I needed a pest control service but after moving into this area of the desert, I realized we live in an area that is overrun by crickets. Even though I live in a new house, if I left the tiniest bit of food out on the counter in the eveining I would wake up to ants all over the place. While I try not to do this, I've not had this problem since the regular visits. We also have the system where it is injected into the home. I've never had this before but it gives me peace of mind knowing that insects aren't having parties in the walls of my home. I have a brand new house and when my house was built, I guess there was a pre contract with HomeTeam Pest Defense. My house was built June 2017 and I pay $90 auto pay for continuous service. The last service was October or November 2018... since then I have been trying to contact this company: specifically Noel Madrigal the service manager, Tosh one of the technician, left a voicemail numerous times and even emailed their corporate office. I have yet to get a service appointment and it is just so frustrating to keep getting charged and no service is done and the same bugs keep coming back. They do not know how to control the pests in my house. This was a brand new house with in wall treatments (supposedly) Why am I still having so many issues!!! This is ridiculous read more

HomeTeam has an awesome service person Leonard who would always come out on time and do a great job. Ever since he started, we went from ants all over to no ants. However, he was sent to a different territory and now Hometeam has told our whole complex for months that "they do not have a person to service our area". I am compassionate to the hiring situation right now, but this is about 6 months now. Plus, they have service techs in Ventura (which is double the distance from their office to us in the S. Bay) and yet can't find anyone to come out every other month. Unfortunately, they're the only ones who can service our in-wall units. We are pest free! This company has really worked great for us. Vincente is the one servicing our home and he is kind and thorough. We moved in last August and knew we needed to seek a good pest control company. Home Team Pest Defense was recommended by a neighbor since they provide the in-wall (Taexx System). I haven't had a single ant in my home. I did kill one spider - but that was it! The staff at Home Team are friendly and accommodating. I would give their service negative if I could . Really really piss me off ! I hate the technician who came to my house to do the service ! I have a new born baby at home , he started to sprayed the pesticide inside of the house without notice us and let us going out. He simply and randomly finished his job. After he done , I started to feel my throat uncomfortable and itch and then I quickly took my baby going outside of the house . But it's too late , the pesticide already affect my throat . I've been with Homestead for 21 years. I am canceling service today because these guys are unreliable and unprofessional. We've had an ant invasion, now for about 2 weeks. I've scheduled three appointments for a technician to come out. They have brown off all three appointments without calling to let us know. Each day, after waiting around for service, we finally called only to be told the technician was not coming. Don't waist your time with Homestead Pest Defense. There are much better options out there. We're switching to Craig and Son in Redlands. read more

The mix for pest control is very weak. Use to smell the treatment when applied, not any longer. I've seen little pest just walk on by. This is our sixth tech. In less than 2 years time. Honestly if I could give 0 stars I would. I am so disappointed with the service. Ever since Vincent left, I have had workers that do not care about their job. This last service I had today was the last straw. The worker (Ross) waited at the door for me to answer (I wasn't home), and then was on his phone. I answered through Ring, talked to him and then he said he was going to begin work. I said great thanks and he left the door. Little did he know I have cameras around my property. He carries...CARRIES...the cobweb duster with him and doesn't once actually use it anywhere. He walks around to the back of my property, around to the side, and all the way back to his truck and puts it away. Then he sprays in one spot, by the threshold of my front door and again WALKS without using the spray around the same path to the other side of my house. Then he uses the Taexx system and leaves. His entire visit he was on his phone. He also from the time his truck arrived (including him waiting for me to answer the door), and to when his truck left was 15 minutes!!! And if Home Team would like to see video footage of this I will be more than happy to provide them with it! But...I think they don't care because... I call to cancel our service and the lady HANGS UP on me!! I call back and they don't pick up! I am so upset with their customer service it is seriously the WORST. To hang up on a customer!! Qrtly service calls. Easy billing. Agent (Ricardo G.) calls the day before, before coming out for a service. Agent always rings the door bell to let us know he will be conuducting a service call and is on the property. We've used them now for nearly 2 years. I had them perform pest control service at my house on June 6, and the service supposedly come with a 30-day warranty. The last week of June, I was noticing spiders in my garage and backyard, however we were traveling that week, and I didn't get around to call them until July 9, where they wouldn't honor the warranty, because I am calling past the warranty date. Why does it matter when I call, when their own guarantee of not spiders for the next 30 days didn't work, I'm only 3 days late on the call, but the spiders were way before the 30 days mark. All the manager would do is trying to sell me on more products and services. Why would I buy more if the initial one didn't work and you didn't honor your own warranty. read more

We have the quarterly maintenance plan which includes them coming and spraying the outside once a quarter. In addition to that, they will come as needed between those visits to address any issues. Our technician is Ted and he is great, calling personally to inquire about the issue and establish a time that works best for us. Ask for Ted! read more

They never return your calls, technicians change often and the only service here that maybe decent is the answering service and that's doubtful because calls aren't returned. When I finally made contact to get directions on how to cancel my service I spoke to Jessica. I asked Jessica for her last name for my records and her response; priceless, "we don't give out our last names". What? You have my full name and address. After 5 years of having the service, I called to pay my bill and was told they had canceled my service, because I paid late. I paid the balance that day and said "after 5 years, you canceled me?" I was told that they can't renew but under different terms, my contract price they don't do anymore. I was completely floored. I decided not to renew. Fast forward a couple weeks later I get a letter they sent me into collections, I called and spoke with a manager, and she apologized and said that it was a mistake, and the girl I spoke with was wrong that they could keep my contract. I declined since I had already gone to another company. She said she would notify collections it was a error. Fast forward to today....I got another collections notice. Mind you I paid them OCT 15 it is now Dec 1 and still getting notices. Obviously something has changed with this company and they are no longer reliable. Not sure how to handle this mess, since the people in the office are not capable of doing their job. We are under contract. We are overrun with ants. Hometeam can't come for a week at the earliest. WHAT'S THE CONTRACT FOR? Canceling on Monday. After 17+ yrs with HTPD, we cancelled their service. In the beginning they had good service techs but the last two times, (May & Aug 2020) service was unsatisfactory and severely lacking. HTPD is not worth the $107.00/qtr. I surmise the most recent tech must be a relative of one of the head honchos; otherwise he should be gone or at least better trained. Not at all certain tech is capable of working without constant supervision and that is surely not the responsibility of the customer!! read more
