I've had Brookside Bagels before, but this was my first visit there that I remember. Brookside is located in an old house-type structure. There were a number of people sitting there at 9:45 on a Saturday morning. There seemed to be a decent amount of seating. Service was friendly and efficient. I had a sesame bagel with Veggie Cream Cheese. The bagel was very soft and lacked much chew. I know some people prefer this type of bagel, but I prefer a chewier bagel. The veggie cream cheese was also soft and about average flavor-wise for a CT Bagel Shop. 3.5 Stars

I was visiting my hometown and stopped here Sunday morning. It was packed and for a reason. Plenty of parking.....and it seems some park across the street. Super fresh bagels. I ordered with very little wait. A toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese and coffee. Plenty of cream cheese on the bagel. I just wish it was more toasted. I should have mentioned it but it was definitely barely toasted. The coffee is self serve. Plenty of seating and a cute seating area with couches towards the back. Friendly staff. I remember when this place was Zablockis and I was looking for some history with the building and Ms. Zablocki owning it but I sadly did not see any history. The bagel was so good I almost went up to get some to go to take home. But when I return I will be back for more.

    Dutch apple bagel....yum-o !

Went to this spot twice within 1 month. 1st time I had a sausage egg and cheese on a cheese cheese bagel it was amazing! The cheddar cheese bagels toasted with butter are the best! 2and trip I tried the dutch apple bagel which was totally awesome. The staff running around outside to get order to your car are very friendly. If in the area definitely check this place out.

$15.04 for a cheddar bagel and lox that you barely toasted and had minimal cheddar? Damn. What happened to this place? That's asinine.

Why does everything cost so much here now? Prices are out of control... Doesn't make sense compared to other options in the area.

First off, it's definitely one of those small, tucked-away spots you could easily miss if you didn't know it was there, but once you walk in, the decor is so cute. Think cozy, shabby chic vibes that make it feel warm and welcoming right away. The standout for me? The dinner roll. Honestly, one of the best I've ever had. It was dense, rich, and satisfying, not your typical light, airy Kaiser roll. It reminded me more of a Jamaican hard dough bread in texture and weight, which I personally loved. Super flavorful and filling. I was also really happy about their buy three, get one free promotion. It made it easy to try a few different things without feeling like I was overdoing it. As for the pastries, I tried the cinnamon roll and carrot cake. I didn't finish either, but the carrot cake definitely gave true homemade vibes. It had coconut mixed in, wasn't overly sweet, and felt more traditional than indulgent. If you like a less sugary, more classic-style carrot cake, you'll probably appreciate it. Overall, this bakery is worth a stop, especially if you're exploring the pastry trail. Not everything wowed me, but there were definitely some highlights that made it a good visit.

I got a fluffernutter iced latte. It was so good! Not too sweet either! The baristas were some of the nicest people ever! We chatted about the weather and this winter while they whipped up my drink. There's limited seating inside- just one table which was unfortunately occupied. They have a lot of outdoor seating which will be wonderful now that the weather is warming up. Apparently the back part of the building is an antique shop! I didn't get to check that out as I was heading to work! The building is super adorable, plenty of parking, and a beautiful outdoor seating area! Highly recommend!

I just chucked it and went across the street to Dom's for an actually well-made cup of coffee. The pistachio flavoring also tasted expired. There was no point in drinking it. It wasn't even foamy. I can make something better at home with my De'Longhi machine. And the pecan caramel bun just tasted like I was eating butter. The place itself is intriguing I guess, but I was just overwhelmed and didn't enjoy sitting there at all. The final touch was that their point-of-sale is on dialup and from a hundred years ago, so it's slow and they have a credit card minimum of $10. I could not in good conscience recommend The Coffee Trade.

Love the atmosphere, pastries and mission of this spot: "inclusive coffee café employing people…read morewith and without intellectual and developmental disabilities and demonstrates the possibilities in all of us." Their mission is imbued in their staff, products, how they set up their space, and how you order. We came here for breakfast on a weekday and had a lovely experience. They have breakfast and lunch cafe menus (+catering), yummy pastries (cookies, muffins and scones) and various coffees and drinks. We enjoyed the omelette (if you order more than 3 ingredients there's a charge) and the village breakfast which was eggs, potatoes (slightly blackened), sourdough toast (or wheat) and bacon. Prices are fairly standard ($11-14) and portions not very large. The panetonne, toasted coconut, and chocolate chip scones ($5 each) were all good and baked well. The honey latte and hot chocolate (most drinks are $4-8) were also very creamy and delicious, though slightly too sweet for our tastes (made it taste good though!) You order at the counter and then take a table and place a marker with nice words like "love" and then your food is brought to you. The actual space is very inviting, with lots of nooks and crannies (tables with chairs, couches, a fireplace). They also sell t-shirts ($30) and sweatshirts ($40-50?) which are pretty soft material, as well as ground coffee, cards, granola, etc. The other half of their space is their homemade pasta place so it's a unique layout and looked fun as well. There were plenty of customers cycling in and out, many sitting down with a warm drink and a pastry. Parking isn't huge but was not super super small but could be an issue if they got an influx of folks hanging out. Wouldn't blame them though because it's a comfortable place with free wifi. Looking forward to returning! Shopping like Whole Foods, walmart, and Shop Rite are all within a few miles.

Seating is abundant with open and tucked away spots. Some limited outside seats as well. We have purchased breakfast items and devilishly delicious snacks and beverages. They also have some baked goods like a cinnamon roll, alfagor shortbread cookies, and various cakes; they seemed to have a dry consistency which isn't my preference with pastries. The spinach and chicken empanadas ($6 each) were also a little dry and crust to filling ratio was more on the crust side. The two omelettes were ok but one was more well done than the other and you couldn't really customize it much; the home fries were good though. They also have a variety of drinks that were interesting, especially the Peruvian coffee and golden latte. You order at the counter and then your food is brought to you. Empanadas just needed to be heated. The atmosphere isn't bad. There are a few small tables and it was pretty quiet, with a few customers stopping in every once in awhile. In the warmer weather, outdoor seating is available. Parking shouldn't be an issue either.

How cool is that? You'll find it in the Antonio's Plaza on Hopmeadow Street in the space previously occupied by Lox Stock and Bagel, a Dunkin, and a Lion's Den coffee shop. The interior is very pretty with a white and pink color scheme, but what really grabs your attention are the tantalizing bakery treats in their showcase - cake slices, Dulche de Leche rolls, and wonderful Peruvian cookie/pastries known as Alfajores. Pam also serves up breakfast with avocado toasts, bagels wraps, egg sandwiches, and heartier fare like waffles, empanadas, steak and eggs, omelets, pancakes and waffles. Add in their deep line of coffees and teas, and you have the makings of a wonderful experience here, like we did. We had a very nice lunch here yesterday and ordered a spinach empanada and a beef empanada for me, and a Lucuma Chocolate Chip Waffle ($11.50). My empanadas ($6 each) were wonderful. They are homemade every single day by Pam herself and were flaky, tender, and really loaded with fillings. The beef empanada was my favorite; the delicately spiced ground beef was delicious. The full-sized circular waffle was a work of art, garnished with strawberries, Nutella, chocolate shavings and bordered by a pillow of golden whipped cream flavored by Lucuma, a sweet yellowish South American fruit. When Pam's daughter Danitza brought out our foods, she gave us a complimentary Nutella Alfajor - a yummy, filled shortbread cookie. Ours was so terrific, we ordered two of them to go -a Classic and a Pistachio. When we arrived home, we saw a third small Alfajor was tossed into the box as another freebie. We really fell in love with Baked by Pam! The delicious pastries, the breakfast and brunch menu, the pretty interior, and the wonderful service -everything was stellar.
