Farmer's Egg Benedict on a Latke
    Doug K.

Growing up nearby, this was always my favorite sit-down breakfast spot in the area. Now that I don't live in town, I'll always stop by with my family when we are in town visiting. No reservations and plan to get here early on the weekends as the line can get long, but it's absolutely worth it! I almost always get the farmer's eggs benedict but the menu is full of delicious options. They also bake some of the most delicious breads and pastries I have ever had! You really can't go wrong. When I was in last they had a latke special and they subbed the hash browns in the farmer's egg benedict for the latke for me, which was a wonderful combo! My wife got the biscuits and gravy which were rich, savory, and super yummy on a delicious biscuit. The staff is super friendly and the walls are covered with cute local art creating a very cozy and friendly vibe. If you are in Simsbury or nearby and looking for breakfast, you should absolutely make a pit-stop here.

We have not been to Harvest bakery in many years. We are so glad to have visited for breakfast. The food was exceptional ! The service attentive but not overbearing - they do offer many coffee refills to all patrons. The open seating allows for a lot of tables - the atmosphere is great and I love that even it is busy we can still hear each other at the table. The bakery items are fantastic as well- a great variety of quiches, cakes, muffins and beautifully decorated cupcakes! We will be returning soon! Thank you for the great breakfast...

My brother and I went to Harvest in Simsbury for lunch this afternoon. I've had them in my Yelp search results for a while, today was my first time dining here. I wish I got the name of our waiter, but he was very funny and entertaining. At first I was a bit confused about the entrance, because, I saw people sitting right by the door. As I was looking for the entrance, our waiter popped out and said "You're not going to find any food at the Carpet Cleaners" as he held the door open, referencing to the business next door. It was very busy inside, they have some art work, which is done by local artists. The whole vibe is very homey. I got the Broccoli & Cheddar soup. As I placed my order our waiter called me "M'lady" multiple times. I also got the Broccoli Quiche. My soup arrived in a mug with two slices of their homemade bread. This soup was very delicious, hot and satisfying. It was filled with substantial pieces of broccoli. I can see it being a go to in the winter! My quiche was also very fresh, made with ricotta and broccoli, it was warm and very cheesy! My brother got the Reuben. He also enjoyed it. We had a very pleasant experience at Harvest, with the service we've received here today, I'll be looking forward to next time.

This is a wonderful breakfast and lunch family oriented restaurant. The bakery items are not only delicious they are beautiful to look at. You have to be prepared to wait to be seated. So be patient. The staff Is attentive and happy to talk and make your experience memorable. Coffee is hot and plentiful. The menu is classic, contemporary and festive. Make sure you look at all the seasonal specials. Great choices for vegan and vegetarian customers as well as plenty of gluten free items. They have a lemon crepes on the menu. It comes with four crepes. Since I didn't want it for my entree I asked if I could just have one. They were happy to accommodate. It was so good. Better than any crepes in Paris. So good. The potatoes have a very tasty spice to them. Almost Cajun but not spicy. They were very good. All of our entrees were delicious and very satisfying. Healthy, good clean food. You will love it. Check out the pictures.

This is the best place for breakfast ! They have delicious desserts on the way out as well. The western Benedict is my favorite. The woman at the register is always very sweet . Everyone is very kind and attentive. It is a small place but you will get in there , you can also do take out .

I've always heard such great things about Harvest Cafe, so my brunch buddy and I decided it was time to visit. I was worried about a long wait for a table, but we were seated right away inside--no trouble there. The cafe is loud. As someone who is neurodivergent, I struggled with how loud it was. I eventually put in my ear plugs to dampen it so I could enjoy the conversation with my friend, and that helped--just fair warning to others who struggle like that. Service was decent. We were offered coffee multiple times and never waited long for anything. The food was fabulous. I had the peach melba French toast special, made from pound cake. It was divine. My friend had the croissant French toast. And we both ordered sides--she the bacon, and I got the home fries. It was all prepared well and tasted great. I really enjoyed my visit overall and would recommend.

Absolutely delicious breakfast: got 2 eggs over easy, turkey sausage, and breakfast potato. Opted for the muffin, pumpkin apple, and our waitress suggested it grilled. Wow, the best muffin I've ever had, truly! We saw some of the other meals being served (like the French toast) and it made me wish I had room for more lol! I will be thinking about the muffin long after I leave Connecticut thanks for the lovely meal and great service!

But once we got there the restaurant was very nice , modern style with little greenery and bright / white anterior design . The staff was lovely they greeted us and sat us immediately. The menu had lots of options and something for everyone . I ordered the iced tiramisu latte and the ricotta hotcakes with Nutella and bananas . Which was amazing , very light and delicious ( I normally don't eat all my food because of large portions .. but I was given 3 ricotta hotcakes and I ate everything!! It was sooo good , very light and filling , highly recommend ! My sister ordered the VEGAN kimichi bowl which was really good as well . My mom ordered the mango soufflé pancakes which i tried and def worth the drive to try . Very light and fluffy cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. !! And presentation was beautiful My husband ordered the Korean fried chicken and waffles ! The waffles came in rose shape which was beautiful 10/10 for the presentation and taste . It's a scallion pancake and it is stuffed with sausage and eggs. It is so delicious and satisfying. It comes with a side of sweet potato fries, and of course my daughter loved that. Also I wanted to shout out the waiters, who are really nice and attentive! The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that they don't have pastries! I wonder why. The grounds, the old millwork setting, ambience and views just feel comfortable while still upscale. I prefer the main dining area to the tavern or covered walkway because you get a glimpse of the kitchen that consistently generates fabulous food with seasonal ingredients and re-imagined classics. Tyler Anderson is back in charge these days and his food is just really good Trusting in him we did the five course menu tour: local oysters with mignonette; cornbread with sesame butter; then one of those classics that has been played with a bit: tapioca pearls prepared to channel clam chowder with bits of bacon and herb! The next jawdropper was frozen shaved foie gras over a strawberry cream compote with pumpkin seed granola. The entrees (you get both) were monkfish schnitzel with a pickle and potato salad and seared strip with potato galette and cioppolina onion. Dessert was a panna cotta with strawberry and angel food crumble All of these were delicious and unique in there on way. Our table relished and discussed every course in an a way that was fun and social. The food made sing and think! The only knock was this: the menu had some redundancies with strawberries and soft textures: the tapioca, foie gras dish, and panna cotta were delish, we could have done without three dishes for people who can't still chew! Service was very pleasant but painfully soft spoken and could benefit from some more fine dining polish. These are minor quibbles. Two weeks later and we are still telling everyone we know what a terrific meal we had... This is a must go restaurant

Pretty area but I was honestly thinking it was going to be more quaint and romantic. It was not. The area is somewhat narrow which makes tables spaced close together and it's really not that private. But the space is nicely decorated and if you sit on the right side (which we did), you're right in front of the waterfall. I would try the dining room next time just to compare. Our server Anthony was professional, kind of and accommodating. We started with cocktails - I had a creative gin drink called Dot Dot Dot. My husband loved his Old Fashioned - he meant to ask what type of bourbon they used because he thought it was very good. With the tasting menu - many of the options apparently change regularly though based off other reviews it appears there may be similar options from time to time. We started with their Johnny Cakes which the waiter said the restaurant is known for. Another reviewer ranked them a 7.5/10 and I couldn't disagree more. They were one of the tastiest bites I've eaten in a while. Crispy, buttery and divine. I thought they were to die for. Served with creamy honey sesame butter which was also delicious. My husband doesn't eat fish so for his amuse bouche he had a little puff served with cheese, that was amazing. For his first course - he had the Ricotta Raviolis. They were as beautiful as they were delicious. My amuse bouche was a tuna tartare that was a perfectly balanced bite. I had the Tapioca custard as my first course. The bacon was a bit too smokey for my taste and overpowered the dish in my opinion. It could have used a bit more liquid but it was a unique few bites. For our mains, my husband's porcini risotto was rich, creamy, and full of earthy flavor. I had the bass with cauliflowerini, golden raisin-caper gremolata, Marcona almonds, and a cauliflower purée--thoughtfully composed and very flavorful. The final savory course was a crispy duck breast with port-poached pear, port reduction, and sweet potato purée, which was beautifully executed. Dessert was a pomegranate pavlova--crisp on the outside with that perfect soft, marshmallowy center. A delightful finish to the meal. Overall, the dishes were not only delicious but also thoughtfully composed and visually striking. It made for a memorable experience, and we're already looking forward to coming back--maybe in a different season to see how the menu evolves.

I had the scallops with risotto which were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Hats off to anyone who can cook a risotto well and they do it perfectly. I started with clam chowder that while could've been a little hotter, was thick and delicious. Other people in the party had eggplant Parmesan, which reportedly was terrific, chicken Parmesan that was cooked beautifully with lots of grilled chicken a lovely marinara that was topped with lots of cheese and spiced. The ancient grain risotto was again fantastic, and anyone who can cook a risotto well deserves kudos. The dessert I had the strawberry shortcake that wasn't too sweet and had a beautiful flavor of fresh strawberries throughout with lots of whipped cream. The Keylime pie was tart and delicious. The Brooklyn layered chocolate cake was tremendous layers of cake and frosting. It was just a perfect rendition of a chocolate cake. Last but not least was the coconut cake which rivals my favorite coconut cake in the world from Max A Mia. The Abigail's version was a bit lighter, but equally as delicious with coconut frosting that really hit the spot and is worth the trip back. I ordered Lou's rigatoni and was extremely happy with this dish. My mother ordered the shrimp fettuccini but with rigatoni and was also very happy. It had an impressive amount of shrimp in it. My father ordered the roasted chicken dinner, and while he did enjoy it, he was disappointed in the portion size. I have to agree with him, they must've have used very young chickens this time. That all said, our waitress was amazing (I'm so sad I forgot her name, because I would definitely ask for her in the future). We were seated in the older are of the restaurant, in the front room with the windows and it was beautifully decorated with a few small Christmas trees . A side note I was told Abigail's had a very nice happy hour upstairs (love that historic & charming area of the restaurant), 3-6pm.. i don't remember the days, i think Wednesdays through Saturday? And my parents told me you can get their amazing burgers for $7, which is a huge savings. I hope Abigail's continues to offers specials for those of us who live locally and usually are regulars. The menu was bigger than I thought with a wide range of options to choose from tacos to sandwiches to burgers. It took a while for the appetizers and drinks to come out. The service was okay at best. There seemed to be only one server, and it even seemed like the chef was helping out deliver food, so it looked like they were understaffed. The server was very friendly though. For appetizers, two dozen wings ($22.95 each) were ordered. The honey mustard and Kentucky bourbon BBQ were the chosen sauces. The quality of wings were very good. They varied in size and were extremely crispy. They seemed to be double fried. The honey mustard sauce was flavorful. There was a little inconsistency with the amount of sauce, but not a huge deal. The Kentucky bourbon BBQ was an elevated BBQ sauce to me. There was a slight bourbon flavor, but nothing over powerful. For my meal, I had the squealer burger ($15.95). I opted for a side salad, which was terribly overdressed, which was unfortunate. The burger was a half pork, half beef burger with American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mustard, and mayo. The meat was cooked to my liking and there was an ideal ratio with the bread and filling. There was something salty about this burger, but I could not pinpoint what it was exactly. Overall, though, a satisfying burger. Will I go back? I would.
