We've eaten here quite a few times and always leave feeling full and satisfied. The breakfast food is always cooked well and so delicious that we don't want the meal to end. They have scrumptious changing specials to choose from, one of which has been a cinnamon roll pancake and was so yummy. They also actually cook bacon and sausage well-done when asked. Some places don't hit that mark, but Andy's does! And don't even get me started on their hot chocolate! Some places it tastes watered down, but not here. It hits the spot! This is a very popular breakfast spot, that somehow doesn't make you feel like your sitting on people's laps, while still fitting in lots of seating. This is clearly a local staple. We came in around 10:30 and they were busy, but able to get us seated quickly. The whole staff is super friendly- from the hostess, waitresses, even the kitchen staff who you can see cooking behind the counter. The food was excellent! One thing we noticed was they had a can of whipped cream the kitchen puts out with orders of waffles. The servers were putting it on right as they brought the food to the table. Real food, prepared the way you would want it at home The portions are the perfect size- definitely worth the hype and wait! Even though it was packed, it wasn't loud and we liked that the staff remembers people who have been here before. We are excited to come back and try lunch! read more

The omelette was by far my favorite. I love the texture of the meat and the portion of all the veggies by far my favorite omelette I've ever had and I love that the hash brown was crispy. We also got the Texas French toast. I like that you can add fruit and whipped cream to it and my favorite part is that you can order 1, two or three instead of having to be forced to order a big stack. Our server was super friendly. We sat at the bar area, which was a little hot because the kitchen is right there, but I felt like the service was super quick. Overall, I would come back and get the omelette. read more

This place is such a rip off . My boyfriend orders the "famous bowl" its a rip off of kfc famous bowl potatoes chicken corn cheddar cheese gravy. He asks for 2 buiscutts on the side. The waitress brings it out as an entire extra meal of biscuits and classic white gravy and sausage. I say no we just wanted the buiscuts. She says no problem and takes the gravy away. I get the check there is a additional 10 $ charge for biscuits and gravy the owner refused to take more than 2 dollars off my bill. She made us pay 8 dollars for 2 plain buiscuts. Never again will I go here they are cheap and rip offs. read more

Just had breakfast with my wife, Cindy this place was amazing. The waitress was super kind and kept pouring that endless cup of coffee. I had the Polish omelette with hollandaise sauce instead of potatoes. I got sliced tomatoes. My wife had scrambled eggs and bacon with potatoes on the table, we bought one blueberry pancake. Outstanding breakfast diner with snappy but great service. Our server Lorry was hilarious, quintessential Massachusetts attitude, she was the best. She kept our coffee and water full. The food came out quick and hot and was delicious. The hollandaise sauce is great. Inside is a typical diner seating and a couple bar spots. While the food was enough to come back again, I will go again and hope to have Lorry as our server again. Whatever she is getting paid, it should be higher. read more

Unfortunately, my experience here was less than spectacular. Reviews were great, and I'm always down to try a new place with rave reviews, so, despite half the menu being eggs (didn't really want eggs), I brought the fam for breakfast anyway. Altogether, I was able to try their Cinnamon French Toast (with a side of bacon), Bagel and Lox, and the Belgian waffle. Cinnamon French Toast was cooked perfectly. I loved the gentle, delicate crust on the outside, and soft, not overly gooey inside. It also had an incredibly light sweetness and just a hint of cinnamon. While I liked the cinnamon added a pleasant taste without overwhelming everything, a touch more wouldn't hurt. The other thing I wasn't thrilled with is the temperature, they were more warm than hot. Bacon was okay, it wasn't limp, but it wasn't crisp either. It was like they do in some delis, where they fry it on the griddle, and leave it a metal container on there to keep it warm. Belgian Waffle was...boring. The consistency was uniform throughout, rather than a crisp outside and a soft inside, it was somewhat crispy through. Especially in light of this, It was also quite dry. They do have syrup and jams on the table, but I want to be able to enjoy a waffle without having to drench it in syrup and jam. The bagel and lox were sub par, with the lox being the largest falling point. This lox had an uncharacteristically strong smell and taste, and its consistency was much softer than good, fresh lox should be. With this, they also forgot the home fries... by the time this was realized, the whole meal had been eaten! Oops. The coffee was weak, adding in cream, I could actually distinctly taste the cream! Yikes! The location was clean, and prices were about average for what we got, I've seen better value and I've certainly seen worse. If you're willing to make the trek to downtown Salem, look for parking, and can pay cash, I highly recommend Red's as an alternative. read more

I've gone to Andy's breakfast several times for exactly that breakfast. Usually I get French toast with side of bacon and the chocolate milk. The waitress was excellent and very attentive. The food was very good and the place seems like it's always busy which tells me it's good all the time, I highly recommend this business and to be honest the hardest thing is getting a good parking space in that small lot with all the other businesses there. Went for breakfast this morning with my daughter. I was seated right away, ordered some drinks and looked over the menu. We tried the ham and cheese omelet and Mickey Mouse pancake. The food came out in just about 5 mins, really quick. The pancake was massive, we shared it and still had ears left over when we were done. The omelet was good lots of cheese and ham, came out hot . The omlet came wait home fries and toast. You have the option to switch the home fries for hash browns for no additional charge. You can swap out toast for an English muffin or bagel for just 75 cents. The home fried were large, seasoned well. The waitress was very patient and kind, chatted with my daughter which was nice. The waitress gave me the wrong special menu, which sucked because they had really good specials. Ended up getting the western omelette which was good except they put the wrong cheese in it. Server was very friendly, quick with refills and checked on us often. And smiled. Upon arriving on a Sunday morning, there was no wait and we were sat in a booth promptly. The waitstaff was friendly and quick to take our drink order, and then placed our food order a few minutes later. Dish one was two slices of Texas style French toast and a side order of homefries. Dish two was two eggs over easy, with a side of toast and hash browns. This plate was decent. The hash brown didn't look fresh, but the eggs and toast was enjoyable. In terms of price, this restaurant is pretty affordable with both dishes and a glass of OJ coming out to about $16 + tax & tip. Andy's is what you want in a breakfast joint. Friendly staff, great service, and tasty food. Portions are good as well. I've tried many of the omelettes and all were good. But as far as the "must try" I would say the meat lovers and the steak tip. They load their omelettes with your choices and how can you not just get all happy seeing kielbasa kicking around your meat lovers. Nice little hidden gem tucked away in a plaza. Nice spot, it was busy but not to crazy Saturday morning when I went. We got seated and served pretty fast. I got the bagel and lox, on the menu it says it comes with home fries but when my food came I ask the waitress she says it doesn't come with them but gave them to me anyways. Does it come with them or not? Menu says so but waitress says other. If it doesn't come with them that's fine but if it says it on menu it should come with them. Js over all I did appreciate that she brought them out to me. Home fries was good. Cooked perfectly. As far as for my bagel on the lox. It was okay. The smoked salmon was a little fishy. Like it was old but not really old if that makes any sense. I do want to go back and try other stuff on the menu. I support local mom and pops.
