Stopped in here for a phenomenal dinner. It is a nice little restaurant with a small bar and some tables. It wasn't busy at all when I went in, so I was seated right away. I ordered an absolutely wonderful coquito for my drink. Tasted great, nice amount of cinnamon. The waitress then gave me a list of specials and the lobster spring rolls sounded too good to pass up. They were great. Flavorful, fresh and had a nice guacamole to accompany them. For my dinner I ordered the fish & chips, you can get three different kinds (bass, flounder and cod). Most places do cod, so I wanted to go different with the flounder. Good choice. The fish was fried perfectly with a nice batter and remained flaky underneath. Worst food ever. It took over 3 hours to get here and when it did the smell was that of bacon that had been in the oven for far too long. We went on a double date dinner tonight to Brothers Fish & Chips and had a great experience! I knew the food would be good based on other reviews and a fish and chips take out order, but was pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere in the dine-in restaurant next door. The background music was light and low key. The set up was casual, but not so casual that you wore shorts there for dinner. We shared the mussels appetizer with our friends. Hubby and my friend ordered the fish and chips. They said it was so good that they ate their entire plates. I ordered the halibut and since I'm on keto, they made special vegetables to comply with my diet. So good. We were too full to order dessert since we all cleaned our plates, but the waiter gave us a small dish with 1 small scoop of beer infused ice cream from the flat head beer they had on tap complimentary. Got 2 small plates. Both good. Fish tacos and fish and chips for mains. Tacos good. Fish and chips had less fish than tacos. Two very small pieces and warm but not hot. Not worth the price. Service slow. Got there at 6 left at almost 8. Very Long wait for everything, from getting menus to getting the check. When we finally got the check the waiter started talking about the discrepancy between back and front of house. We both thought he was starting to apologize for the long wait between getting our food but no. He was advising of the 18% service tacked onto the bill for the 2 of us that was not noted elsewhere. But that we can certainly add additional and it would be appreciated as they share it. In a nutshell: Food good not special. Avoid the fish and chips in restaurant. Or get it for takeout where the price is less than half. Imho overpriced for the taste/quantity/service. (No pics. We were so hungry from the wait between courses we just ate). read more

Our second visit was every bit as good as the first. This time we ventured outside of the fried food and were not disappointed, although the ceviche was prepared differently than I would expect. The quality of the food befits a much fancier restaurant. The place is not cheap, but I don't think you will find quality food like this for less. You get what you pay for. read more

Food is de-freakin-licious (that's a word). Small and quaint, get there early, but if you can't , get drinks at the bar. Food is fresh and wonderful. We had garden salads, fish and chips and fish tacos that were phenomenal. Great drink menu to boot! Only critiques would be, it's Pepsi not Coke (boo!) and the chairs aren't great. Have come here a few times and have always been happy with food and service. As a creature of habit I haven't gone to far off the fish and chips (cod) but we have had a few special apps and they have all been well prepared and most important fresh. Prices are a little high $20.00 for for fried belly clams...I thought it was too high for what it was but that's my opinion. They were very tasty though. What a find! I had never heard of this place until I received a mailer with a coupon for Brothers Fish and Chips. Since my husband loves fish and chips I saved the coupon and we decided to use it last Saturday night. We read the Yelp reviews and were encouraged by what we read. In all seriousness, our experience was even better than we hoped. We both had the Brothers salad, which had the most interesting flavors and textures, like watermelon and watermelon radishes. The dressing was light and in no way interfered with the flavors of the salad ingredients. My husband then had the mussels and the shrimp ceviche and I had the flounder fish and chips. We shares a side of mixed vegetables and everything was fresh, flavorful, beautiful and delicious. Our cocktails were wonderful. He had a martini which was made as dry as he likes it and I had a roasted mango mojito which was amazing. I don't even like mojitos usually! For dessert, I had homemade strawberry ice cream which was served with whole red raspberries and raspberry sauce. We spoke to the owner/chef after our meal to tell him how delighted we were and that we will be telling all our friends to come and try this wonderful place. Our previous favorite seafood restaurant was also in Ossining and it closed about a year or so ago. We've been mourning the loss ever since; but no more! My husband and I stopped in here after work during the week and it was fairly empty. Service was great and the food was very tasty, so I would imagine the only thing keeping people away is the prices. However, I would definitely go back. I had fish tacos that were very good and my husband loved his bass. We also had coquito that was delicious! I couldn't resist the idea of a fish and chips meal. A hidden gem of Ossining's limited, but improving food scene. I tried the fish, shrimp, and chips combo via takeout, which came with an excellent homemade tartar sauce. The batter was light with somehow no signs of oil or grease...and everything was absolutely delicious. With tax, my bill was only $15. Where do I start. I've been coming to brothers for almost a year now, the first time I went I had the most magical ceviche plated so beautifully. Whether you eat in the restaurant(get the tasting menu, you'll experience a Michelin Star level of food. BEST OCTOPUS I'VE EVER HAD, HANDS DOWN. It was the perfect texture with a really nice crust from the sear/grill. My boyfriend who is a picky eater and doesn't like octopus also though it was good. The accompanying sauce and veggie balls were delightful and a great complement. My boyfriend's fish and chips were also tasty, walking the line between traditional enough to satisfy people like my boyfriend but interesting enough (tempura crispy fries and tangy/sweet flavors in the coleslaw and tartar sauce) to appeal to me. The worst! I paid $19 for paint he fish soup and it came with 12 mussels, 3 medium sized zed shrimp and a piece of fish. A lot of broth and a Little vegetable. I certainly didn't need 12 mussels. I expected much more than I received. I order out all the time but I won't order from here again. It took 2 hours to deliver my food to n top. I'm angry because the place was recommended to me. I now have a lot more f flavored water left over. I expected more seafood certainly not 12 mussels. No clams, no calamari, a piece of some fish about 3 ounces. Definitely not worth $19 plus tax, tip and 2 hours wait time NEVER AGAIN. read more

Well here is another place that is worth my time of reviewing. Brothers fish and chips is more than its name, a fusion on the just fish and chips. There specials are incredible. I had tostones with lobster, Bok choy with mussels and crab meat with lobster concoction and I have to say concoction because the flavors of that dish was just simply amazing. Even the rice and bean side dish was excellent, I have yet to had a side dish that was so wonderfully done. This is a stamp of the care you feel they put into the food. Huge mistake! Was feeling fishy 'n' chippy while driving by and thought 'How bad could it be?' Service: As close to non-existent as possible with a disinterested cook handling orders in haphazard fashion. Food: Fish still had skin on it and was definitely NOT what we were expecting. Other items such as cole slaw were sour and inedible and sent back. The cook didn't seem to GAF. Prices: No posted menu so you either beg for a price sheet or cross your fingers. Fish and wings were beyond greasy, to the point of soaking the entire paper bag in which our takeout order was placed. Not sure why they would put a balsamic drizzle on crab cakes but it completely ruined the taste of them. Also, they were out of blue cheese for the wings so there was no dipping sauce.
