Decided to stop at Brothers Fish and Chips late Saturday afternoon ordered two combo fish and shrimp meals. The fish was nice and crispy...a little too small but tasty. The shrimp was tasty as well. They serve fresh cut potatoes fries with the meal. They give you the tiniest container of Cole slaw and I only received one with my meal. I think both orders should have at least a bigger container of cole slaw as a side. More fish and shrimp...less potatoes that almost filled the box would've made the perfect meal. My husband and I had dinner there and the food was delicious. Waiters were great/ The one thing that ruined the night was the check. If i didn't look closely I would have never noticed that they tack on a 20% tip and never mentioned it. I understand that is the normal course of business for 6 or more guests, I also get that there is a service charge for credit cards. We had the tasting menu and were quite disappointed. There were only three tastes out of ten that were good, the rest were nothing to write home about and none were outstanding. The first thing I'll say is HOLY SHIT THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. We had the tasting and wine pairing menu yesterday. The restaurant was busy, for obvious reasons when you get the first bit of food. Each and every dish was delicious and left you wanting one more bite, like all amazing restaurants do. The warm friendliness of the staff from the runner and waiter, to the chef who brought out each dish and explained the dish before you were transported to seafood heaven. Some tasting menus are overpriced and leave you unsatisfied. That was not the case at Brothers Fish and Chips. The astounding balance in flavors that the chef gets out of his ingredients highlighted each item on the plate. Some of our favorite dishes were the squid seviche, the bacalao fritter, and the sublime crab cake with to die for mole sauce. Have heard so many great reviews about this place! Have to admit...the food was delicious! My husband and I had the pleasure of dining there tonight! The service was was impeccable! Not the best location but definitely did not effect my experience. The only thing I had a problem with was the tip that was added to our bill. We were only 2 people. A tip is meant for good service. For large parties I can understand adding the tip but not for two people. Actually, I probably would have left more but was insulted that I was not able to to decide for myself! Would it stop me from returning.....absolutely not! Based on our entire experience due to the tip issue I can only rate a 4. Nix the added service charge, if diners can afford your prices they should be able to leave the tip accordingly based on their service. read more

You're not going to be disappointed. The food menu is unique and they have good specials. The drink menu is also unique. My only suggestion is more broiled options for us healthy folk. Good food, but the prices are astronomically high for what you're getting. Main menu has nothing under $30. You can ask for the takeout menu (that contains about three times as many options as the main menu) which they will provide begrudgingly, but the takeout menu provided contains no prices, so you'll have to confirm via the menu on their website. The 4 stars is based on dine in at the restaurant experience. Both the food and the service are excellent! Tried their take out before and not so impressed as the fish batter and the fries got soggy by the time we ate them at home and the fried plantain was tough but then tried dine in at their restaurant and it's totally different experience. The fish and chips are very good, tried their flounder and cod and they both tasty ( asked for their jalapeño mayo sauce, delicious!) and got their sweet plantains, also very good and not too sweet. I saw lots of people raving about this place and I decided to take a ride over to see what this place was all about. I ordered the bass and shrimp with fries. The taste was quite good, but with a price tag at $17 for deep fried battered fish and shrimp. The batter they used was quite tasty and added just the right amount of flavor. Having said that, it is not quite the best fish fry I have had for the price. I have tried fried fish from Harbour Fish Company in Mamaroneck and that was something to rave about. We took a chance on this pick, upon arriving from the GPS instruction it didn't seem it was a wise choice. The restaurant was flanged by a laundromat and a salon. But as we enter the "left door", everything changed (the right entrance was for "take out") The ambiance was modern, roomy and welcoming. We were greeted by "Juan" who showed us to our reserved table at the back of the house. The menu was simple and we decided on 3 Chef Tasting Menu and one Paella made with squid ink. There were so many offerings from the tasting menu it's hard to pick our favourite but the stand out was the fish croquet which remind me of a seafood chowder was you bite into the croquet. The fish taco was also a surprise. The king fish was also tasty. The course starts out mild to heavy complex texture / flavour. The desserts at the end also contributed to a well rounded evening. Breading was light and very tasty! Had mango radish and red onion on top which was very fresh as well as made for nice texture and lots of flavor. Loved that they had fresh herbs growing right in restaurant! Finished with the flan and tres leche and coffee and expresso. Desserts were outstanding and again very fresh! Stopped in here for a phenomenal dinner. It is a nice little restaurant with a small bar and some tables. It wasn't busy at all when I went in, so I was seated right away. I ordered an absolutely wonderful coquito for my drink. Tasted great, nice amount of cinnamon. The waitress then gave me a list of specials and the lobster spring rolls sounded too good to pass up. They were great. Flavorful, fresh and had a nice guacamole to accompany them. For my dinner I ordered the fish & chips, you can get three different kinds (bass, flounder and cod). Most places do cod, so I wanted to go different with the flounder. Good choice. The fish was fried perfectly with a nice batter and remained flaky underneath.
