Based on the recent reviews for this place, we had really high hopes but the food just did not meet our expectations The hubs was craving a cheesesteak something fierce and when he saw the pictures for it he said "this is the place" but that was quickly replaced with "I chose poorly". The meat had an odd taste to it from whatever seasoning they use and the amount of meat was just lacking. The fries were definitely the best part of the meal for him. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger and asked for it medium. It came out more medium well but didn't want to fuss with sending it back to be remade. It was still plenty flavorful and had a nice charred flavor/texture to it. I also found the fries to be the best part of my meal. I mean, how can you go wrong with crinkle fries. lol Service was great and never had to ask for refills and if I could base my review solely on that, I would.

I've seen this place for over a year. Looked it up and after reading the reviews, was beyond excited to give it a try. Wow...what a massive disappointment. Service was abysmal; she didn't listen didn't ask and didn't care. The important part, the food: the menus you see on here, in these reviews, does not exist! Draft beer is $6.50 not $3.00 as shown here. No pizza , no extensive menu. We ordered the appetizer, "hummus and taziki dip". not anywhere close to authentic. The pita was burnt to the point we couldn't eat it. "Greek salad" came without dressing. When we asked, we were given an economy size bottle with white liquid in it. We asked what it was and we were told "the dressing" some watered down sweet mayo yuck. We didn't eat any of it. The gyro had a minuscule amount of meat and not much else on it. No flavor. Nothing. I could not have been more disappointed in a restaurant Needless to say..we won't go back. Save yourself the disappointment and go about half a mile up the road to the Publix shopping center and eat at taverna the real thing.

Nice family owned place. It was quite formal for dinner. They allow you to order from the lunch menu at night though.

I seem to seek out Greek restaurants and found my all time favorite place for a Gyro. First time…read morethe pita was warmed up and soft. The pita was fluffy and that added touch of being warmed took it to a new level. The gyro slices were plentiful and seriously the best I've had. The sauce hands down devine! My sister ordered a side of potato salad that was off the chain too. Service was quick and the place is cozy. One of the ladies I was with ordered a dinner to go and they separated everything so she could warm up the pita when home later and didn't mix the toppings. This was so appreciated. If this place is a bit out of the way - drive there. You won't be disappointed.

Finding good Greek / Mediterranean food anywhere is tough. If you haven't actually been to Greece…read moreyou haven't had an authentic food experience. I was lucky enough to go to Crete , Greece 4 times while in the military in the late 80's. I still haven't found that replacement , but I've come pretty close a couple times. The Chicken Kabob here was really good , thick flavorful pieces that were seasoned well on a wooden skewer. I would recommend getting these. The Beef and Lamb Gyro was large and full of meat , veggies , and sauce. The meat was decent , but I wasn't impressed by it. The sauce also was mid , could be thicker and more flavor. I got a sample of the Roasted Potatoes and I would recommend them. The Rice looked good , but I didn't try it. They have some desserts too. The Carrot Cake and Chocolate Cake were monsters ! If my son was here with me in Myrtle Beach I definitely would've gotten both. I think for most people they would be happy to have lunch or dinner here. $13.00 for a Gyro and $7.00 for a Chicken Kabob.

I highly recommend the beet salad, and the evening special was bifteki, which was fantastic. The Greek potatoes were absolutely amazing as well--honestly, there wasn't a bad thing on the menu. They also have a great selection of wines to go perfectly with the food. This is definitely more of a fine-dining experience, but it is well worth checking out when you're in the mood for authentic Greek cuisine. Great food, lovely atmosphere, and an all-around brilliant evening. We will definitely be back. Three thumbs up and five stars from us!

In general, the food was good and the staff was friendly. During my two-day visit I had two meals there. Tried the Grilled Tiger Prawns, Soutzoukakia, Beet Salad, Maroulsalata, Pastichio and Spanakorizo. 1. The tiger prawns came with four pieces. Tasted fresh but a bit too salty for me. 2. Soutzoukakia was basically lamb and beef meatballs. Compared to Kofta in Middle Eastern cuisine, these had more flavors from meat but less from other ingredients. Served over tomato sauce. 3. Beet salad had generous amount of beets, but the arugula tasted just-out-of-fridge; it was very cold and crispy, lacking the flavor of fresh arugula. 4. Maroulsalata was a salad with chopped (green) romaine, green onions, dill, crumbled feta and lemon+EVOO dressing. A light dish perfect for pairing with their meats or (heavy) pastas. 5. Pastichio, the Greek style Lasagna, is a classical. It was my first time to try it and it tasted fantastic. It was an ~4 inch square piece of layers of hollow pasta topped with ground beef, a thick layer of bechamel, and topped with graviera cheese. Unlike meat sauce, the ground beef was "dry", but this was OKay because the bechamel would smoothen everything. In general rich in flavor and creamy and definitely filling. 6. Spanakorizo was like risotto or porridge but perhaps had even more liquid. It had Arborio rice, spinach, herbs and Kefalograviera cheese. The staff were friendly. They recognized me when I had my second meal there, answered my questions about the menu patiently, and explained to me about their tips (I will discuss this below). The dishes were served in reasonable time. The vibe was definitely at the higher end among the restaurants in Myrtle Beach; plus it was not crowded at all. Despite the good food, you should be careful about the tip. Their suggested tip percentages are calculated based on the taxed price; e.g. if you select the suggested 18% you are actually tipping more than that.

Now while vacationing in NC, I expected to find some damn fine barbecue, which I did two doors down from Meet the Greek at Heritage BBQ. But a place the serves solid Greek food, like lamb & beef gyro meat shaved off a spit!!! No way!! Friends let me tell you, most happily, I was wrong!!! Meet the Greek delivers fresh, hot, tasty Greek food in belly filling quantities!! I went with two friends and I ordered a large beef lamb gyro, a 4 piece order of Dolmas, stuffed grape leaves, and of course some Baklava for dessert. The gyro was massive, freshly cut lamb & beef with red onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and a generous helping of fresh herbaceous Tzatziki sauce!! To say it hit the spot would be an understatement!! The Dolmas were also very fresh with perfect seasoned rice that has just been the right touch of mint. How one can feel so full yet pleased that it also felt like a healthy meal!! The Baklava, a dessert, paper thin filo pastry layered with chopped nuts and honey, even felt on the healthier side of things as I licked the sweet honey from my fingers and considered all the other carnival sweets I indulged in whilst on my beech vacation!! My one friend got a medium gyro and barely finished it, said he wanted to stop but it tasted too good not to finish it. My other friend chose a Caesar salad, not exactly Greek but she was delighted to find the Caesar dressing so fresh, cheesy, and creamy! Meet the Greek also offers not only a Greek Salad but an even more traditional Horiatiki or Village Salad featuring briny Kalamata Olives. This would have been the one for me had I not been so stuffed from my gyro & grape leaves! The restaurant itself is not large but is very clean with a nautical Greek village decor that only enhances your dining experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as well. If you are new to Greek food or just looking for something different from beach vacation fare, I highly suggest you take the short ride and take a bite of some excellent and generously portioned Greek Treats!!!
