Why 4 stars? Because it scratched the pizza itch. --- --- --- I had been thinking and talking pizza an inordinate amount and was craving it even more than I usually do, so I opened up the Slice app and ordered delivery. It was a very busy night (Christmas Eve Eve), so the estimate delivery time was significant, but the pizzas ending up arriving 20-30 minutes earlier than the estimate. We went with two different extremes: a meat lover's and an extra cheese. Oddly, I like both things equally -- either a million toppings or none at all. My wife and I both agreed that the extra cheese was the star of the show, while the meat lover's left a bit to be desired. There was just a certain flavor of one of the meats that we didn't love. Either way, it was still a good experience and the mission was accomplished: I stuffed my face with pizza. Now, did I eat way too much? Yes. Did I go to bed with a stomach ache because I don't know when enough is enough? Yes. But some lessons are learned from experience and my pizza coma taught me so much about life. We ordered delivery so I can't comment on the ambiance or service but man, was my calzone tasty! And the marinara for dipping was on point. My husband and I both got calzones and they were MASSIVE. I could only finish half of mine and I don't think my husband finished his either. I got their hand and ricotta and the combo was *chef's kiss* with the marinara they provided. The kids got a giant cheese pizza and almost ate the whole thing (two toddlers and a preteen). My youngest who almost never eats a lot ate an entire giant slice and a half of pizza and all the kids said they wanted it again. Not only was it tasty and cooked properly, but to keep our family of 5, it came to under $50 which is a rarity for something tasty. Picked up 2 huge pizzas for family dinner. First off, I don't think I've ever seen or observed a harder working staff! They absolutely hustled every minute. And the pizzas were really good. Great pizza! Each ingredient was every flavorful. We ordered a deluxe for pick-up. The pizza was just coming out of the oven when I arrived. We loved everything about it. The crust was perfect! The sauce was excellent. My favorite part was the fresh mozzarella. There were several customers dining for lunch and they appeared to be regulars. The gentleman at the counter was very friendly and engaging with everybody. He was talking about everything from "how are the kids" to baseball. He seemed very personable and moved with a purpose. I disagree completely with any review putting this restaurant in a negative light. Especially those commenting on m@sks, for which there isn't a single study worldwide proving efficacy. Wny my hubs likes this pizza is beyond any sense of my imagination. We ordered two slices of the Deluxe Pizza for him and I, one piece of Custom with NO Pepperoni, but substitute for eggplant. When I get my piece of was loaded with Pepperoni, no onions, no bellpeppers. Had Canadian Bacon and Sausage and those FAMOUS canned mushrooms, never the eggplant.. Picked up some pizzas for my employees on New Year's Eve because we were too busy to cook for them. It's the only place I've grabbed pizza from in the area where every one of my employees is happy. We preordered to pick up right at closing, but I was unable to get there until a few minutes later. The staff were still super friendly and accommodating and the owner was really nice, too. Being From Western New York I know my pizza.(which is different from NYC Pizza) If this pizza was served in New York They would be laughed out of the state. They just can't seem to get the dough right. Chewy and cardboardy but It may not be their fault. Not sure if it's the alitude, water or mixture of both. I have given them a few tries... More than I probably should have. Most times the Pizza is WAY too salty and Overcooked. This time they didn't even cut the Pizza. The wings on the other hand were okay. They deep fry them but if you get delivery, they cover it in foil thus steaming them. I've asked them multiple times to not do that. Also, Delivery took 1 1/2 hrs. And We are 3miles away. Use to come here all the time until I had brothers pizza from the sterling ridge location and realized this location was just not doing it right. The magnolia location really takes the New York "greasy" sterotype and runs with it. Always puts waaaay too much cheese so that if you take a slice half just falls off. Can't even taste the bread too much cheese. If you absolutely have to come to this location ask for easy cheese and to cook the dough an extra minute as was not cooked all the way through. Seriously go buy a small pepperoni pizza from sterling ridge and 1 from here and tell me it's not 2 completely different pizzas. Just went back after 2 years and still the same situation. I was lured in with the$2 pizza slices. The advertised$2 slice is for cheese pizza. Only 50 cents more gets you pepperoni or meat lovers . The size of the slice is worth the price. Most people will fill up on a single slice. This is the mall pizza by the slice i grew up with. Great if you are in a budget and very tasty as well. I thought tonight would be a good pizza night since i got home so late from work. I was actually on my way to Papa Johns, and was not thrilled with that idea. I yelped for pizza and this place came up. Let me start by saying that I am a New Yorker, and critical of pizza, and more so that i used to run restaurants in the past. I should have listened to the voice in my head that screamed don't do it!!! Walk away!!!! I should have also payed attention when there were no cars in the parking lot around the front. Apparently i am not that smart, at least not at that moment. I ordered 2 extra large cheese pizzas and a hot anti pasta (cheese sticks, fried mushrooms, calamari and chicken tenders) to b go. A few minutes after i sat down, they called out that my hot anti pasta was ready. It sat on the counter for 6 minutes, my pizzas were just placed in the oven. That means hot food sat in a closed foam container sweating away getting damp from the condensation of steam from the hot food. I like my unhealthy fried food to be crisp at least. If they were really busy, i can see some service issues, but there was no one in the store waiting for food from that side of the kitchen and no other orders pending on that side. There is such a thing called timing. If the pizza had about 5 minutes left, then drop the fried food. They did remove it from my order as i had asked, once someone figured out how to do it. Ironically enough, they reversed the charges for the hot food, but not the tip, so they do have some thought process. I got my two pizzas home. They actually look nice, see the pictures. The pizza sauce was tasty too. That is were it ends. The dough was like rubber and chewy. My father in law could barely cut the pizza with his knife ( its cultural, he tends to proper). The cheese was greasy. I took a picture of my plate after two slices. If you want new york style pizza, this is not it. If you need to feed alot of kids at a good price, this is very economical. Please get some other food that the adults could be happy with. If you want customer service, this is still not the place, it is run by teenagers that really dont care about you. When i complained about the fried food being prepared too early, the teen- ager that had prepared the food was talking smack behind the wall that was behind the register. Makes you feel like a valued customer and that you as a patron are valued. I do not recommend this place, i do not believe i will be back, there are better options available for a little more money and better pizza. Two last things. I found a weird blue piece of something baked into the crust. I have not seen a blue spice like that before. The last thing that bothers me the more i think about is every pizza is made on a pizza peel ( not the issue), they open the oven door, pick up the crust slightly and blow air from their mouth under the pizza to trap air to loosen the pizza from the peel. Me and my kids are staying in a near by hotel due to a fire in our apartment last week. It has been extremely stressful and we have been very emotional with being displaced. We came out here to try something other than fast food and decided to give them a try.. i wish I didn't because when We came in it was nothing but sad and rude faces by the girl taking our order. Mind you we have NEVER eaten here before, so we were figuring out what we wanted and anytime we asked a question we felt rushed and looked at as if we were dumb. I would have left a tip on the ticket but I left zero! That is what they deserved in my eyes. I am a waitress and know the service industry well and that was the worst service I have ever seen in my life. To top it off I didn't know if we grabbed our own cups or if they were different sizes so I stood there politely waiting to see if they would ask if I needed anything and they didn't.. surprise surprise an older couple was talking with them knew them by name and was ordering and blatantly was rude and purposely asking the workers if they should "sit and wait for their food, or stand here and wait" while the wife pointed in our direction. I think it's funny when people want to be rude but don't have the backbone to be rude to someone's face to them when it's directed to them. So at that point I walked up and said do I grab my own cups? I wasn't sure I just grab it or what size k paid for cause nobody told me. I got the cups got our drinks and walked to the counter again and told them to just make my whole order to go! I was not about to sit inside and eat with assholes all around me and my children. Now we are sitting i. Our hotel room eating like we have for over a week since we can't go back to our home till it's fixed. I have lived in magnolia since I was 14 years old and NEVER been to a business with people like that running it let alone workers and customers! I will NEVER go there again and let everyone know about my experience there. My suggestion is maybe get nicer people to work for you or teach them better service!!!! To top it off the food wasn't even good. Maybe it could have been but I'm sure with their stank attitude they didn't make it how they normally would have.
