I've gotten my eyebrows threaded here TWICE & BOTH times were great! All I asked for was a clean up & she gave me just that! She didn't have me looking "permanently surprised" lol! HOWEVER, I can only give 3 stars because... There are no times posted as to when they are open or closed & TWICE I have driven all the way from Monterey & they were closed. Once was on a Saturday (yesterday to be exact). Other than that, this place is awesome. Great price & good service....they just need clearly posted hours of operations. read more

I went into my first threading experience with high hopes, however I can't really say I'm too impressed. My eyebrows do look better than when I came in, but not by much. My left brow is way longer than my right now, and I definitely need to go home and do some serious plucking to fix them... Yes it was quick, yes it was less painful than waxing (although I rather enjoy the feeling of being waxed) but I just can't be impressed with how my brows ended up. read more

First of all, the lady basically laughed and called me a hairy beast in different linguistic terms. I had been planning for months to get my eyebrows done, since I had just had a baby it was the first time I got for some self care. So my eyebrows look Terrible, whats left of them anyways..Its been over two months since they were hacked off "trimmed" and thank goodness I have fast growing hair. I had to pencil them in later myself, and I have thick, luxurious brows normally. This woman, with long hair destroyed my brows and left them scraggly and uneven. I actually PAID her because I was in such a state of shock and disbelief when she was done. Its going to take two more months for my brows to recover and look normal again. DO NOT GO HERE FOR NICE EYEBROWS !!!! maybe it depends on who you get, as there are some positive reviews on here, so find out the name of person first. I don't know if maybe the owner is a good eyebrow person and hired other people or what, but I am simply horrified by the results. On the positive side, she did a good job on my lip and chin, though I don't think its possible to mess that up. The fact that its been almost two months since I had this done, and I STILL look every time in the mirror at my brows and think, "That terrible lady really messed them up" is something I've never been though in my life. This review is for Greatmall location, the stall in front of Nike store: I just got eyebrow done and the lady did the most terrible job. She did not know how to do eyebrows, or even hold thread. She kept using plucker and spend an hour cutting hair with scissors, she kept saying my skin is sensitive. She wasted an hour and still left unwanted hair all around the eyebrows. Area around my eyes is burning. She was such a disappointment and inexperienced, and at the end said I don't accept it. I thought this place was owned by Eyebrow designer and I have been going there for many year, and was never disappointment. I wish I could give browart23 Greatmall location a (-10) rating. read more

I have to come here once a month. The lady does a great job shaping my brows. They do facial and body threading. For my eyebrows she charges $12. I consider it a pretty good price. I've seen cheaper prices at other malls. But, as long as it's a good job, my eyebrows are totally worth it. Yes, I do recommend for you to try them out. read more

This place is hit or miss depending on who you get. I've gone several times and came home and looked in the mirror and found a lot of patches of hair left on my lip and brows. Make sure you double check in the mirror that everything is how you want before leaving. One of the lady's is too gentle which is nice but it doesn't remove all of the hair. Also, it is so frustrating that they do not have hours posted. Nowhere in the kiosk or online. I arrange my day around going in to the mall to get threaded just to find out no one is there. Very annoying and I won't be wasting my time on this place anymore. read more

I have been to this place a few times and they've always done a great job. I went here last Saturday and had 'Racheal' do my brows. HORRIBLE. She was rude to me and my mom and the other patrons that stopped by to ask questions. She was NOT gentle, pushing my head pretty hard. She did not even remove all the hair she should have. She made my eyebrows bleed and I will not be going back. Unfortunately the experience was too bad and it's not worth trying again read more

My first time ever: The brow shape was ok. But Ive been broken out for 3 DAYS now! I'm very upset, I'll never go there again! I told her it was my first time getting my eyebrows done. She said she shouldn't even be doing mine bc she was supposed to be going to lunch. Maybe she was in a rush? I didn't push for her to take me, I was just hanging out and could have waited 30m up to even an hour. She just kinda did them fast and didn't really tell me much other than how beautiful my eyebrows were. I didn't get any warning that it would be relatively painful, only after she started did she tell me that some people describe the pain as being similar to getting a tattoo. I thought this procedure was supposed to be painless, but I guess that was my own ignorance. After she had me hold my brows to do the interior, I moved slightly and she said "Eek! Dont do that, the thread can actually cut you. Let me know if you need to adjust next time." As a first timer these would have been something good to know BEFORE starting! I also noticed that there didn't seem to be any sort of cleaning of tools between customers, idk if that's normal or not? Now that Ive been broken out for 3 days (just around my eyebrows only, I very rarely break out) I looked it up on Google to see if it's normal and evidently you're supposed to wash your face first then using a cool damp towel afterwards to help calm the skin and close poors to prevent bacteria from getting inside and causing breakouts. Again, this would have been nice to know or to have been part of the service; especially right before a weekend of Halloween parties when people are trying to look good. I went here today and this young little teenager was working, I ask if I can get my eyebrows done and she said ya take a sit and then proceeded to text for 2 minutes before walking over. I lay back and then she goes omg did you pluck? Why! And I said we'll I'm a marketing coordinator and work 50 hours a week and its hard for me to get in. She then proceeded to LAUGH and say they are so uneven, they are so bad!! (They do need some tlc, but they are not that bad!!) That was when I got up grabbed my purse and said you are rude and walked away. I am 25 and I let this little teenager get to me but that was so unprofessional!! If you are her employers you can find BETTER!!! I will NEVER go back and have already told quite a few of my friends who go there (before this girl started working) and they all said they will now find another place. read more

Had a great experience at this kiosk in the mall today. Kiran Kumar was the chick who did my eyebrows. Last time I got my brows threaded in downtown Santa Cruz, and the woman there was unprofessional and completely messed up my eyebrows, leaving them totally uneven. But Kiran was very helpful, friendly, and was able to completely even out my eyebrows! It was inexpensive and she did them twice as fast and better than the other place. To top it off, my friend had bought cupcakes in the mall and she accidentally left them at the threading place. Kiran ran after us all the way through the huge parking lot to give them to us. Extremely painful and she made my eyelids bleed. I have tiny little cuts and I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to happen. And they weren't very even. My eyebrows are all red and swollen hours later, and I will have to fix up with tweezers. Will go back to waxing! read more

I have been to this place quite a few times. Today was the first time I felt like "the eye- brow artist" really cared about what I wanted and how I was feeling; step by step. She asked me questions and showed me after each critical brow step (the arch). She explained the process and how it will appear on my face structure. Her name is Mona!!!! Perhaps this can be too huge of a review as the girl working there was unbelievably rude from the start. There was one girl there and when I walked in she was sitting in a chair and totally ignored me while she ate her cookie. I stood there for a second wondering if she worked there or was a client, but when nobody else came and she didn't seem to be waiting for anyone I politely asked if she worked there. The girl replied that she did, but that she was on break and then proceeded to eat her cookie. Although shocked, I asked when her break was over and the response was 20 minutes. I can't believe that this behavior would be tolerated, but after reading the reviews, it is a blessing in disguise that I was able to leave and know to never come back. I really like the girls downtown at Santa Cruz Threading, but with traffic on a Friday I thought I'd take my chances. As soon as I left, I called my regular place and have an appointment tomorrow at a place that actually cares about clients and does a fabulous job time after time. read more
