I don't think this place deserves a two-star rating. I came in for a clean-up and was in and out in 5 minutes. I'm not looking to be pampered, nor am I looking to spend more time than I need getting my eyebrows threaded. The only thing I can agree with regarding the reviews is the use of cheap thread. It broke a few times, and hurt a bit more than usual, but you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a quick clean-up, don't let the reviews scare you away. I would put ZERO stars if I could. Went in there today about 45 mins ago. I told her it was my first time getting threaded and she was nice. I felt confident since I heard that threading was fast and hurt less than waxing. On top of that, people who got their brows threaded ALWAYS looked nice so maybe I thought I'd try it since the lady I usually go to for brow waxing kept messing up lately. I came in with my brows already filled in. I told her that the way it is now, is the way I wanted it to be shaped. I just wanted a "clean up". Shouldn't be hard since she literally had a stencil for her to follow. NOPE! Anyway, it didn't take long. She filled in my brows after and I thought that was an added bonus. She was done really fast and I was excited to see what the result would be. She handed me a mirror, and my thought was that she made it thinner than I wanted. She filled it in but it was the WRONG color so I had this weird light brown mark on my brow, but I didn't freak since I thought I'll fix it later when I get home. I paid her, gave her tip, and left. So I get home, a little irritated because it was too thin AFTER I just told her I don't want it to be thin. I got a face cloth to wipe my brows clean so that I can just fill it in evenly, and TO MY HORROR, half my brows was practically GONE! I was ABSOLUTELY MORTIFIED. I told her earlier, that it took LITERALLY a YEAR for everything to grow back (I had thick eyebrows growing up as a child, but sparse at the ends). So now I have to literally DRAW my eyebrows in till it grows back AGAIN. I don't care if I can "fix" it myself and that they can't do anything about. It's just that if you're gonna have a business open, you should at least do a DECENT job if it's not gonna be that great. I'm not usually a picky person, and I'm a "do-it-yourself" type of gal. I was so surprised to see the low ratings for this place! Whenever I'm in town, I always get my brows done here. Threading costs only $11, about average price. Yes, it takes no more than 5 minutes, but nothing feels rushed and my eyebrows always look great afterwards. The staff aren't particularly talkative, but they're nice, I.e. they will obviously pause if you're in pain, and always offer lotion. read more

Nothing that a pencil and time to regrow couldn't fix. After that experience I tell them exactly how I want the shaping and they do it just fine. Do NOT recommend what so ever. I moved from la to the Bay Area about a year ago and worked in Tanforan mall. I was in need of a new brow place and saw that this one was just around the corner from where I worked. I walked in and there was only one lady who was already threading another person's eyebrows. The brow lady saw me but did not acknowledge me and when she was done with the customer, she nodded her head at the chair for me to come. I usually always get my eyebrows and upper lip done and from past experiences, it usually takes a good 5 minutes to get the majority of the excess hair. I felt as if she had rushed her work and that the thread being used was cheap. After my first experience, I went back 2-3 more times after to see if they had improved, but it was still the same. I noticed my hair would grow back much quicker and that I would leave with still patches of hair that needed to be threaded. Overall, I have decided to stop paying for a low quality service that is being charged $20 when she literally takes 2-3 minutes to finish what I've asked for. I understand that because of the area it is located, the price is competitive but I've been to cheaper places for almost half the price that do a way better job. Don't waste your time! read more

I used to love this place. Two of the women there are very experienced and do an excellent job. But recently a woman started working there who obviously has never done eyebrows before. She's done my eyebrows two or three times and cut off almost half of my eyebrow one of the times. She also goes so extremely slow, plucking each eyebrow hair out with the thread which is excruciatingly painful. When I first had her I thought she was going slow because maybe she was super good and the pain would be worth the result. but no, when she was done I looked in the mirror and was horrified. My boyfriend also had her one time and she messed up his eyebrows so badly that he just looked in the mirror afterwards and told her "what the fuck" (he's a lot more confrontational than me ). The last time I had her was the last straw, she made my eyebrows look funny and a day later I had several painful ingrown hairs on my eyebrows (because she didn't pluck them correctly). I also have seen a customer make the woman stop in the middle of doing her eyebrows and waited for another worker to be finished with a different customer to fix her eyebrows. They shouldn't be letting this woman TRAIN on legitimate customers and making them pay, unacceptable. She's been there 3/4 months now (probably longer) and STILL fucks up everybody's eyebrows. read more

Came in because my usual place was closed. I asked the woman to clean my brows up but not to change the shape. I told her I like my brows thick and not to thin the ends. Well... I could feel during the threading that it was painful and she was removing a lot of hair. I mentioned again during the threading that I didn't have any them thinned. She just replied "mmm hmmm". Well at the end I have 1/2 the brows I walked in with. This is so disappointing. It took me so long to grow my brows out. I don't suggest anyone go here. This place has gone downhill since it opened. I recall they used to also have the kiosk upstairs near JCP and would direct customers to this downstairs one. When I first starting coming here awhile back they did a good job. But after that I would regret even paying for the mediocre threading. Here is why I don't rate them well. It always seems like they don't want your business. However if you try to go anywhere near 8-8:30pm they already have their glass doors already locked and they are ready to close while the rest of the mall is still open. Many moons ago when I used to work in the mall I thought you get fined by the mall management for that? Horrible experience!! I came in and no one in the front. All of the staff were in the break room and eating. When I asked them if I can do my eyebrows, they told me, "ya! 10 mins." After 10 mins of waiting, she didn't even hand sanitize her hands, her hands smelled like orange and whatever food!! Horrible customer service!!! 1. I posted a picture. ^^ I don't know if it's just me or what not. But I had my eyebrows done just yesterday. And all of a sudden it turned like this, I never had this. I don't even know if they are pimples or they just thread it badly. I have a good hygiene for my face, never had an encounter like this but next thing I know I have this after they did my eyebrows. I would not recommend my relatives/friends coming in here. Because they do it way to fast, and doesn't even take their time doing it gently. If i could give zero stars I would. The girl was unfriendly from the start, I should of turned away and walked out. I normally dont get my eyebrows done at a mall stand but my normal place M&M threading was closed. The girl, who was so young, I was prob one of her first clients- butchered my eyebrows. Not only were they uneven and totally different shapes, but when I told her they looked uneven, she said they look fine and gave me a stupid look. She was there alone, no manager to speak to or anyone else with more experience to correct her mess! I will never return. I get my eyebrows threaded all the time for the last 10 yrs. I've had good experiences with them the last two times I had been, which were both about a year ago. I went recently to get my brows cleaned up again (because no matter how hard I try, I'm terrible at keeping my shape while plucking). The one lady that's been there for a while was nonchalant as always. Had a long line ahead of me, mostly people doing just brows, so I had about a 20 minute wait. What disturbed me more this time was the fact that she'd use the same pair of shears and brushes on everyone's faces, then didn't bother to clean them afterwards. I imagine those brushes probably touch hundreds of people's oily faces everyday - yuck! And lo and behold, right after I got my eyebrows, upper lip, and chin done, I get a red, bumpy, itchy fungal infection on my skin, and so does my mom, who went in right after me. Sorry, but I'm taking Yelp's recommendation next time and going to try M&M down the street. read more

I do not recommend this spot. It's been a while since I got my brows done, so on a whim, I went here since I was already at Tanforan. I usually go to Ziba Beauty in Serramonte, and definitely still prefer them. Customer service needs an overhaul. No greeting, my threading experience felt rushed and painful. I have been getting my brows threaded for years, so it wasn't just because I'm sensitive. It seemed like when I declined additional offered services, the worker was just trying to get me out of her chair. They weren't even busy. I'll start off with saying that I was REALLY nervous to get threaded here after reading some pretty horrific reviews. But I had no choice because this was the only place convenient enough for me to go to during my lunch break and I HAD to get it done that day. I have to admit I was turned off with the way I was greeted. There was only one person working and she didn't have a smile on her face. And when I made conversation, there was still no smile and her tone was as though she was bored with me. Kind of a turn off especially when you've been to many other threading salons where the employees are so sweet and always smiling. Anyway, I get my brows threaded and all goes well for the most part. She worked quickly and the pain level was the usual pain level for threading. I did appreciate that she asked if I wanted her to fill in my eyebrows again (make up). And she filled them better than I did. Due to convenience and reasonable pricing, I would probably go back here to see if they will continue to do a good job with my brows. I go to this place for eyebrow threading for the convenience. It is located inside a mall and aside form having a small kiosk in the middle of the mall they have have their own shop with about 3 or 4 chairs. It is quick and painless. They ask you to check if you are happy with their work and allow you to tell them where you want additional work done. They put lotion on the area where they worked on so your face won't be left stinging. Reasonably price, I come here every month for touch ups! read more

There's a young girl that works evenings with long dark hair. I asked to get my full face threaded. She quickly threaded my entire face and to only find out there's hair still on my face. While threading my face, she pulled off one of my earrings and nose ring. I've gone to her a few times thinking this time she'll do better but nope. She is literally the worst out of everyone. And my eyebrows aren't clean either. There's still hair and not in even shape. She also left cuts on my face. I can't even explain how angry I am. THEY CUT ME I don't even know where to start.... I can't believe I didn't yelp. Wait, yes I can. I came in Wed before thanksgiving. I was bamboozled by another threading spot into getting a membership and they said "we have a location at tanforan." So I went with my mom to start using my "membership." Come to find out, it is not the same owner. Nice, friendly staff. I cannot be upset with the lady who did my eyebrows, she was sweet. But it burned, and when I mean burned, I mean BAD. I left feeling like my brow area was on fire. I don't know what didn't trigger an alarm. It wasn't the first time I get threaded. Later that night, I went to take off my make up and lo behold, both brows had striations of cuts. CUTS!! I've never been cut. It hurt extremely bad to clean my face. Ok, no biggy. Will go back Friday (after turkey day) is what I thought. I was't going to do this review because I thought I'd go in, and kindly request my money back and get it - no problems, right? "No refunds, sorry." Yes that's the response. The manager saw my brows, and saw the cuts and blamed it on my lack of "stretching the skin enough" or that I may have sensitive skin versus the fact that I WAS CUT by the person threading!!! I didn't know there was a no refund policy - no one tells you, the sign is behind the register. I only noticed it because the manager pointed it out when I was requesting my money back. I mean, I get it, no refunds, but you cut me. I have pictures to prove it. Why not make it even and just return my money? I was offered a free threading. Although I took it (and I won't use it), I couldn't understand how the manager felt I would want to come back let alone to her when she was not being compassionate. "that will heal. I train all of them. I'm the expert. Ask for me," were all the different progandas to get me to come back and not fight for a refund. I wish I could give this place a 0 and I wish I would have read the reviews before going. Worst Customer service and worst eyebrow lip & chin threading I have ever experienced in my life. Eyebrows-thinner then I life she just needed to clean them up a little two lines at max since I just got them done a few weeks ago. She takes almost 3 rows and I say almost because she left patches of the part she should have cleaned. I didn't realize it until I got outside to the sun. Eyebrow threading has never hurt me so much. Lip-not so bad the pain crazy bad but beauty is pain but I'll never go here again. Chin- she started off pretty good then go under my chin cleaned it up nice right under my bottom lip clean when I had time to really look at it my chin still had patches of hair still intact, and the bottom part of my chin/neck area is blazing red I'm thinking meh it's gonna go away today is day 2 and I looks like she took a blade and cut me up. I wish there was zero star for this place. I hadn't gotten my eyebrows done in 5 months so obviously it was over grown. She finished it in less than 2 mins and this included my upper lips. I do not joke when I say I have a bruised eyebrow and upper lip. I had swollen up at the intensity and force of the threading. She changed my eyebrow shape which is ok I can grow it back but she shortened my right eyebrow and said it was how it is. Absolute pathetic service and no apology to the customer. Now I've been growing them out for about 5 months to get them thicker and longer, being they are very light and thin. I walked out and around the mall than came back and still no one was out. I had to yell "Hello!" to get attention. The brows were ok but she rushed it so my skin was stinging. " I was expecting an apology because I know things happens like that, but instead she replied with attitude, she was like, " I don't know! Did you feel if I pulled hair from there? " then I said, " so what do you mean, I cut myself out? I came here without that, so you tell me how did I get that?" I got hella pissed, I told her, " all I want is an apology, and you can't be so professional, instead you are trying to tell me that it was my fault! " then she replied ," okay I'm sorry , but I didn't do it, or maybe I did ," then she was telling me next time when come there don't get her to do my eye browse, and I said, " oh yeah I don't want you to do my eye browse if you just going to cut my skin" and she replied, " oh yeah I don't want to do your eye browse either!" I asked for their manager's name and phone # and she said , they don't have a manager and they don't have a phone. I had a really great experience with Dalal. I've never done threading and I haven't professionally waxed my brows for a few years, but since my kids were with their dad at hop n play why not treat mysel! I walked by and it was empty and I saw a young girl at the register on the phone but as soon as I walked in she ended her conversation and asked me to have a seat in the chair. I told her that I wanted straight full eyebrows with no arch and WOW! I was so impressed with the job she did. My brows looked amazing and better than I had expected. I have very fine Asian eyebrows but for some reason after they were shaped and cleaned up they actually looked fuller and darker. She had me check out the first brow she cleaned to confirm that I liked it before she moved into the next brow. After she was done she let me know she was going to trim the long hairs then use tweezers to pick up any strays, then she offered me lotion to calm the irritation. I paid, then she asked me if I would like a frequent service card which I thought was very nice. I asked what her hours were and she said Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I walked in and there was no customers in the shop. The employee was literally in the doorway talking on the phone. I walked in, took a seat and that specific employee decided to go in the store to continue her conversation on the phone next to the register and didn't even bother to acknowledge me. I tried to make eye contact with her, but it failed. I gave it a few minutes and she failed to attempt to try anything. Surprised by the low ratings at this place. I've been going here to get my brows done for a year or so and they've always done a great job. Staff isn't super talkative but I don't mind. This place deserves at least 3 stars! I was in a GREAT need to get my eye brows done today so I like why not try this place out. I walk towards the store and see a lady talking on the phone and when I go inside see a girl on her phone as well. Then the girl inside it takes her even a couple seconds to realize I'm there when I say, 'Hello'. She points at a chair for me to sit down at and the one who was on the phone comes in towards. At this point I'm feeling kinda iffy because she stays on the phone after she gets her supplies and when she starts. So I wasn't able to tell her I didn't want an arch and the whole I was thinking I'm going to have to use a lot of eyebrow powder to cover up. (When she got off the phone was like a couple of minutes before she ended) But actually she did a great job they weren't as thin as most places make my eyebrows! NEVER EVER AGAIN! I will never go back to this place even if it was my last resource. It was my second time going. The first time they did them too thin but the shape was ok. I fill in my eyebrows, so it wasn't really an issue to fill them in a little so they look thicker, how I like them. Well today I decided to go back & honestly they did a HORRIBLE job! If you're considering going to get your eyebrows done here for the first time or whenever DONT! Unless you want to leave really annoyed & irritated. First thing I told her when I sat down was that I just wanted a clean up, because I like my eyebrows thick. She said ok , then said my eyebrows are not the same, obviously they're not, no ones eyebrows are. She tried fixing them, saying that one of my eyebrows had less hair & all this crap that NO ONE has ever told me. I've been getting my eyebrows done for at least 5 years now & they've never told me one of my eyebrows has less hair. After all that, this other lady tried to fix them, she did make them a little thicker but yet my eyebrows looked way different then one another. I know they aren't going to look the same but they were way off. Then she tried saying that by "filling them in" they were going to look better, so I let her do it. Right when I saw myself in the mirror took it off, she didn't know how to even fill eyebrows in. I literally was there for atleast 20 minutes trying to get my eyebrows fixed until I got so irritated & annoyed that I paid and left.
